The service was great. There are very few chairs and tables but, we went when they just opened, so there was no problem getting a table. The upside down Halo Halo was delicious. And, probably one of the best tasting halo halo. The ube cheesecake was delicious, although kinda pricey for such a tiny piece.
First time at this location. Street parking only. The 3 of us shared two items, the upside down halo halo and halo halo. I'm glad we each didnt order our own because it is a lot. I enjoyed the bread pudding and the jelly. Was refreshing to eat on a hot day. Would come back for the bread pudding. Fair amount of indoor seating. Friendly staff.

Ube poptart, 8/10 Turon 10/10 Ube flan cupcake 9/10 Ube truffle 11/10 (my fave) Halo halo 9/10 Matcha Pandan latte 10/10 Ube monster shake 9/10 Ube latte 10/10 As you can see, i love the offerings...but service has been inconsistent. Sometimes you are welcomed, served quickly with a smile and other times, not so much. Inside has always been clean, but ive never actually stayed there to eat or drink.
We were doing some shopping in the area, and based on the favorable Yelp reviews, decided to give it a try. Since it was our first time we went with a variety. We tried the ube leche flan cupcake, Ube butter bar, halo halo,& maiz con yelo bars. Everything was delicious! Less sweet than I expected. The vibe was nice. The space, while tiny, had seating for around ten customers. Service was welcoming and friendly. I'd definitely recommend checking Cafe 86 out. Prices are a little steep, but the quality is there.
It's a little known fact I'm a sucker for ube based treats, and Cafe 86 has opened my eyes to a myriad of yummy new possibilities. I tried their ube crinkle cookie, and not only was it pillow soft, but a very pleasant sweetness that pairs very nicely with milk. I've never had halo halo before, but it's such a tastebud tempter I may need to have more!
Could not find a place to get coffee and matcha, we saw people walking around with Cafe 86 cups and had to try it out! The workers are so sweeeeet! It's such a cute spot and their matcha is one of the best I've had. A Large Cold Brew is less than 4 bucks you can't beat that! Will definitely be back!
We showed up about 10 minutes before opening hour of 11:30 am and door opened exactly at 11:30. Guy behind the counter was alone, and was friendly enough. We ordered two sandwiches and an ube poptart. It took nearly 20 minutes to get our food, which isn't terrible, but if you are time-pressed, it's something to consider. One thing that was a little distressing, they only had 1 ube poptart left. At opening. Huh? So, I bring it up just to say that you might not be able to get what you want, even if you're their first customer of the day. It just feels a bit like they could have things ready to go. The Turkey Pesto Sandwiches were good, nothing too special, but tasty. Ube Poptart was REALLY tasty and would get me to go back, but I would be too leery they might not have them, so I'll probably save the calories. We ate in and it was pretty warm inside. Music and vibe were cool, but it otherwise wasn't that comfortable. Menu has a ton of items with interesting names, but no descriptions, so I have no idea what they are and didn't feel like asking what each thing is. So in summary, it's good but if I went back, I'd consider ordering ahead to ensure that I wasn't disappointed to make the trip only to find they didn't have what I wanted.
Improved! Got it down and everything running as expected and tasting as anticipated. A welcome addition to Burbank and my fellow Ube Lovers/good drinks/coffee conouseiiers can unite. It's a small spot with very little seating but definitely worth stopping by and enjoying a treat or five from time to time. Service is pretty quick and staff are helpful if you have any questions about their menu.

I was on way back to the Bay but had to stop to get a coffee. The other Bakery down the street was busy, so I went in for a quick coffee and pastry. I had ordered a Cookie Butter latte and an Ube pop-tart. The owners were super friendly and it seemed like a family owned business. It seemed like a Filipina inspired menu with Turon, Ube pastries and Halo Halo styled drinks. It seemed like a chill place to have a coffee meet up or maybe a little study time. I will definitely stop by when i'm in the area again. Both the pasties and coffee were really good.
I haven't noticed this place til earlier today when I was getting my nails done next door. I walked in to buy coffee for a midday pick me up. The iced coffee with milk was delicious. I wasn't expecting it to be this good. I'll definitely stop by again just for this. They serve a variety of coffee drinks, milk teas, iced teas and more. Also some desserts and few sandwiches. I saw someone eating a grilled cheese sandwich and it looked really good. The price was under $10. What a great lunch option. Will try it next time. Customer service was friendly, indoor seating only. The ambiance was chill.
Reviewing a few drinks so I remember for the future. Jasmine Calamansi - taste artificial. I will pass on this one. Mahalo Mango - a refreshing drink that is well balanced. Not too sweet and not artificial. The Mermaid Milk Tea - it's a jasmine milk tea. I don't know if it's the way it was made when I had it, but it was a bit watered down. The flavor is light which is nice. Strawberry Calamansi - On the sweeter side, but packed with flavor. I'd get this again. The Rosie Milk Tea - very full of flavor. Well balanced milk tea.

WOW! Beautifully crafted delicious drinks and fun pastries. First time ever visiting and I left quite impressed and satisfied overall. This location is in the heart of Burbank with plenty of street parking. As i walked in, the store was not packed or crowded. Staff were polite and attentive. I wanted to explore one of their famous drinks so I ordered their Halo Halo drink: Signature Halo Halo. Includes Coconut Jellies, Jack Fruit, Boba, Frosted Flakes, Scoop of Ube Ice Cream and Flan. 5/5 The presentation was so beautiful and well crafted. The drink itself was topped off with a small flan and Ube ice cream scoop. Such a fun drink to enjoy, as you indulge in crunchy flakes, coconut jellies and boba, exploring this drink was nothing but fun for my tastebuds. The Ube ice cream was creamy, rich and delicious, not too sweet. I highly recommend the Halo Halo signature drink, you wont be disappointed. I must come back and try their other specialty drinks. For the pastry section, i went ahead and ordered their "Ube Crack Cheesecake" 5/5! if you are a cheesecake lover such as I am, then this is the pastry you must get when visiting them! It is a "deliciously creamy Ube cheesecake sitting on top of a buttery Skyflakes crust" I ate the entire thing and no regrets were experienced during my indulgence. Such a cozy Cafe offering specialty drinks and pastries. Do not skip them next time you are nearby. read more

Obsessed with the upside down halo-halo!!! This is the best place to go for dessert & drinks after a meal or just craving for snacks or light meal as they also serve sandwiches and pastries. I have yet to try those. The place is small but you can seat outside and people-watch. The service is pretty good. read more

This was my first time trying this cafe. I know they have multiple locations but there's a first for everything lol I got a hot matcha and it was really good actually. I'm kinda picky with my matcha but this one was really smooth and I added sweetener and it was right sweetness for me. I didn't try honestly most of the food because it had ube and unfortunately I am an ube hater lol but it did look good! I like this location has a good amount of seating to hang out or do some work. I didn't find much parking because I believe it's only street parking which is where I parked. Overall I would come here again. read more

Always love a good ube dessert so I had to visit this spot. This is one of the rare spots in Burbank that has a bathroom too which is nice. The staff were friendly and I ordered an ube butter bar and ube truffle. Both were delicious but the ube truffle was my favorite. It was so rich and flavorful, I can't wait to come back and get more! read more

Yay Filipino goodies in Burbank now! And a great location on Magnolia next to Chase bank. They're know for their ube desserts, we love the ube cheesecake crack and truffles but this time tried the halo halo and the ube and turon pop tarts. Upside down halo halo: 8/10 a twist on the traditional. Comes with vanilla ice cream on an ube base with jelly, boba, and leche flan. It was yummy! Turon pop tart: 10/10 warm it up, if you love turon and bananas definitely try this. Ube pop tart: 8/10 also good but I liked the turon better! We'll be coming back to try more! read more

Welcome to Burbank! Another sweet goodies spot walking distance from Porto's and Crumbl cookies. They specialize coffee, latte, milk tea, shakes, and desserts with most having a Filipino twist. If you're looking for ube, turon, or halo halo this is it. I ordered the zebra latte which has both chocolate and white chocolate added. Not too sweet. For dessert went with one of their moist ube truffles. Mmm the coconut cream cheese frosting hits. I went later in the afternoon and a lot of their baked goods were no longer available. Was hoping to get one of their ube pop tarts. Guess I'll just have to come back! Wink wink. read more

Café 86 is absolutely INSANE--in the best way possible. I had never been here until a friend recommended I try a boba, and wow... my mind was blown. I always wanted to try boba, and this place set the bar so high. My go-to order is the coffee milk tea with boba (a perfect combo of coffee and milk tea), and it's genuinely one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted in my entire existence. I also love their Thai tea--that gorgeous fluorescent orange color that looks unreal, but is actually all natural from plant leaves. So good, so smooth, and completely addictive. And don't even get me started on the desserts. Their ube bread pudding tastes like chocolate cake and comes with ube ice cream. I later found out ube comes from a root vegetable, which somehow makes this mind-blowingly delicious dessert feel almost healthy... my mind is still blown. The menu is massive with hundreds of items, and I honestly want to try everything. On top of the incredible food and drinks, the employees are so kind, friendly, and welcoming. You can tell it's family-owned and operated, and that they put so much pride, love, and care into everything they make. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing with TVs, tables, and a vibe that just makes you feel happy to be there. Bonus points for being pet-friendly--my dogs love coming here because they always get little cups of whipped cream, which they might love even more than I love the boba. Café 86 is a total must-visit. I'll be back again and again. read more

I really love their ube leche flan cupcake. It's the way i like it. A little dense but so moist. It has the taste of ube not just the purple color. The place is cute. The service is fast. But it was just us during that time. Coffee is good too. It's just a bit pricey but worth it. read more

I got the Ube Leche Flan cupcake which wasn't too sweet, It tasted somewhat like a corn bread muffin with ube food coloring. Which came out to 5.50$ Glad I tried, I might go back to try the drinks.. Nice ambiance but unfortunately the service wasn't the best :/ read more

The place is really nice and the staff was very friendly. There's som seating inside but not a lot. But it was very clean and I love that they had a huge menu on the wall. They have sample of their tea for us try and also gave suggestions. Really love the ube smoothie and the ube pop tart was really good too. I also had the caramel latte which wasn't too sweet. I'd definitely go back to try their other flavors. read more

So glad Cafe 86 has opened in Burbank! Perfect location as there are many other cute shops and restaurants nearby. I've come to this place twice and enjoyed each time. Got a Green tea smoothie with boba the first time and an Upside down Halo Halo (with lots of Ube flavor) the second. The crispy flakes were the cherry on top. The place is small but neat and clean. Friendly and fast service. Easy street parking in a safe and vibrant area. 100% recommend! read more

Yes! So glad there is now a Cafe 86 near me in Burbank! Awesome Filipino cafe; I have frequented Cafe 86 locations in Eagle Rock & SGV. Their Halo Halo is always great, as well as the Ube Cheesecake and Bars. Personal favorite is matcha pandan latte. The owners we met here are very friendly. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing. There are many options at Cafe 86 I want to try; favorite to-go relax/dessert spot and highly recommend. read more

A MUST TRY SPOT FOR UBE-LOVERS ‼ Café 86 is a new hidden gem in Burbank that never disappoints! If you love ube, this is the place to be. They have an amazing selection of creative desserts and drinks, from their famous Ube Truffle and Ube Leche Flan Cupcake to their Ube Monster Milkshake--all packed with rich flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. I was lucky enough to get photos of some of my favorite items. They even have seasonal specials, so there's always something new to try! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with friendly staff who are always helpful with recommendations. Whether you're stopping by for a quick treat or hanging out with friends, it's a great spot to satisfy your dessert cravings.
