I'd give a "zero" rating if possible. Dale came out to give us an estimate on replacing 2 window panes. He gave no indication while he was here that there were any issues. We had used this business twice before with no problems. A few days after Dale was here we received an email saying our estimate was denied. We called to find out why and the person who answered the phone said they would look into it and let us know. A few days after that Dale called us to say they wouldn't do the job !??! When we asked why he said "it's none of your business". Seriously! There is absolutely no reason to use this business when others are available. read more

It ended up taking 3 months for them to receive and install our custom glass shower enclosure, and when they finally did, they didn't even cut it evenly. I would never recommend this company to anyone again! We had worked with them in the past and the experience was fine. We wanted to go somewhere local and support the neighbourhood businesses . This time I was so dissatisfied with the service and attitude. The owner Mike appears to be helpful but doesn't have it together at all! I asked for a quote which I made clear was time sensitive. This was not handled well at all and I have to wait very long for a quote and then even after I confirmed the order it was not placed in time. When I went in to discuss the matter the owner was very arrogant and treated his employees with disrespect. I called Vancouver glass to come and measure two high-end showers for glass doors. I wasn't really looking for a quote, just ready to give them the work . They were friendly and helpful over the phone and scheduled a date of Friday the 11th at 1:30 PM. After no one showed I decided to call and follow up and was told that a tech will get back to me. I'm still waiting to hear back from them. This shows a complete lack of customer service, lack of professionalism and a complete disregard for other people's time . This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. They scheduled THREE appointments for the initial quote before they actually showed up. I should've known then, but someone recommended them and things happen, so I went ahead and ordered a door from them. The install was a nightmare. Colin showed up 3 hours late, and didn't have all the brackets to finish the install, so he said he'd be back "first thing in the morning." When he hadn't arrived by 10 the next day, I started calling the shop, only be told they would get a message to him and he would call me back. I called again around noon, and again around 1:30. By three, Colin answered the phone at the shop and said he had to see if he had all the parts and would call me back. Half an hour later, he hadn't called me, so I called again. He answered the phone and fairly rudely said "I told you I would call you back when I found all the parts." You can imagine I didn't have much faith in that, and I was right: he didn't call back. After 4 pm, Blaze called to say he would call me in the morning between 8 and 8:30 and that Colin would be there first thing. Blaze didn't call. When I called the shop in the morning, Colin did finally call me back to say he was in route, but then showed up over an hour later. This lack of communication was frustrating, but the real cincher was the half inch gap Colin left around the door, which allows water to escape. When we called about the gap, Colin adamantly stated that the gap was "within specifications" on the sides and that he had forgotten to leave the weatherstripping for the bottom. He said he would drop off the weatherstripping and send an email with the specifications. He did neither. We called again and specifically stated we were not satisfied and were not willing to pay the remaining balance until we were satisfied. The very next morning I found out they had run my credit card for the remaining balance. I have no paperwork regarding the glass manufacturer, how to care for the shower, or any warranty on the install. I am completely unhappy with not only the lack of communication from beginning to end, but also with the poor results. I would NEVER use their services again. read more

Ordered several sheets of glass for a used piece of furniture we recently fixed up. We had a pleasant experience, ordering was simple, glass was ready to pick up in 2 days. The only issue we had was lack of communication on where to pick them up. I ended up going to the wrong location first, but was routed to where they were. Service was gruff, may benefit from having a receptionist or someone more suited to speak to customer base. Glass was cut perfectly. read more

I called 16 days ago for an estimate for broken windows in a duplex that we own. I worked it out with the tenants so someone could be home at the time of the estimate. Someone from Vancouver Glass did go measure, after first a no show, but he didn't measure for the repairs in both units. So that meant another phone call and another appointment to measure. Again, a no show. Finally got my estimate today. Incorrect. Not the windows I specifically wanted replaced at this time. And I specifically wanted a broken down estimate for the two separate units. Like other reviews before mine stated, every time I called, the person I talked to had no idea what I was talking about and could find no records. What a way to run a business! I am tired of hearing their excuses..someone just quit and stole tools, our truck is broken, I'll have to call my guys and find out what happened, etc. I used Vancouver Glass years ago and was very pleased with them. And the location is close to the duplex. That is why I chose to use them again. But since we live 100 miles away now, we need someone dependable. I'm not doubting their work. I'm sure it would have been fine. But I am disgusted with their customer service and lack of care for the customer's needs. I have called another glass company due to the fact that I have the feeling Vancouver Glass doesn't care if they earn my business or not. Our contractor used this company for our shower glass. The first attempt at installation they had cut a piece of glass incorrectly so it was another week before they returned. Second attempt they had the wrong hardware so added another week. Finally showed up around 4pm and worked here until almost 6pm. Unfortunately, there is still a leak under the glass and they forgot to install the strip along the bottom of the door. Still trying to get the problem resolved. read more

The guy, Dale I'm guessing, just looked at me and threw his hands in the air when I tried to ask him if he wanted me to pull all the way in. He finally came over to talk and gave me serious attitude. I really don't know why. Not being in the windshield repair business and not having had one done before, I did not know you had to make an appointment so they could order your particular windshield (makes sense though). He couldn't just inform me of that. He had to say it like I was totally stupid. After being a total jerk and acting like I was putting him out by trying to give him my business, he then asked if I wanted to schedule something. I declined. Why pay to be treated badly? I'm guessing he has so much business he doesn't have to be nice. read more

Steer clear of this company. I should have gone elsewhere when I had to go back several times to get an order placed. We ordered special shaped flat glass for tables, a barn style shower door and replacement mirrors for sliding wardrobe doors. First we took templates and measurements in as requested. We were given a quote. When we were ready to order we stopped in and no one knew what we were taking about and we had to start over and was told we should get some different thicknesses for some of the uses and it might be less expensive to send it out with all the special cuts he would call me with the quote. After not hearing from them for two weeks we went in again and had to explain it all over again to another person. We were told we would need to speak to Colin who was not there right now. We went again to speak with Colin and again went thru the templates and measurements and talked about the shower doors. We discussed placement of the towel bar and had them order it, we were told he would be back to us with the quote on the flat glass from the vendor that would do the special cuts. Again we did not hear back with a quote and had to follow up with them. When they brought the shower doors they installed and would have to come back with some pieces they forgot. It had taken them a very long time as he could not figure out why the sliding door was not quite right. When they came back a couple days later my husband showed them that they had installed the sliding glass backwards and that was why it was not clearing correctly. My towel bar ended up on the inside with him sighting that the manufacturer would not let him put it where we wanted it, there was never a call to discuss this issue. We asked about the quote on the flat glass that they were getting and he said it should be about the same as the original quote. We told him to order it. When it came in they brought it out with the closet doors. They brought the glass in for the table tops and started putting it on the tables. I really didn't need them to "install" the flat glass and one piece was a tight fit requiring the table legs be taken off to get the piece in, again I did not ask them to do this. We had mis-ordered one piece in the confusion of explaining our needs and having to talk to a different person each time. They said they would get a new piece coming and it should be in Friday. I asked for an invoice each time they came and it was always back at the shop or they wanted to add the other pieces on to it. They did not call or come on the indicated Friday but came the next week. When they came with the last piece of glass we were on our way out of town and I had already departed. My husband asked them again for an invoice and again it was back at the shop. He said he could go get it but after it taking them 2 hours plus each time they had had to run back to the shop, which is 9 miles, my husband could not delay his departure. When we returned I called and asked for the invoice for the $2,220.00 charge on my credit card. When I received it there was a charge for $210.00 for delivery of the glass. I called and asked about it as there was never a discussion about a delivery fee. He said "well I thought it was understood" "we spent a lot of time installing your (flat) glass". I told him I never asked them to install my flat glass. The prices on the wardrobe doors was higher then I remembered it verbal quote. I do not feel they are professional in their customer service and lack of written quotes. Disorganized not showing up with all the pieces to install the shower doors. Again part my fault for not going elsewhere when I had to go so many times to get an order created. I should have demanded a written quote prior to ordering but he made me feel I was taking too much of his time and he would have to contact the vendors to get more information and he was busy. read more

Like others have said --don't deal with Vancouver Glass. The guy came out and measured the end of August. On September 3rd they called to get a down payment (1/2) for my shower door. By mid Sept I called and was told they would call when the glass came in. I called again in about 10 days and was told the glass wouldn't be there until Oct 23 when I said I needed it by Oct 7th. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY---I AM A 75 YEAR OLD GRAMMA AND WAS TREATED SO RUDELY BY BLAZE, WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING, BY COLIN THE INSTALLER AND BY DALE THE OWNER. THEY DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS. THEY CALLED TODAY AND ARE REFUNDING MY MONEY AND REFUSED TO DO THE JOB. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS--THEY ARE ALL YOUNG, DON'T KNOW HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS AND THE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN EACH OTHER IS NIL. BLAZE (manager???) says he isn't the "shower door department". The shower door dept is Colin the installer! Dale (owner is extremely rude also with no apologies for the lack of communication to his customer. My feeling is that they are just waiting for someone to come in and buy their property for all the building in Vancouver. Dale probably had the business handed to him by his dad. I was in need of a new back window for my 1989 Toyota pickup. It was a Saturday, so most places were not open. I called three places and only ONE called me back on Monday; Vancouver Glass Co. Boy was I glad! I read one review online about them and thought they sounded good, so I took a chance (I wanted to utilize a local business and they were a family owned business for many years). I talked with Dale at the downtown location, told him what I needed and that I had a special request besides the glass replacement. I had some windshield wipers that I bought somewhere else and needed help getting them on because the original ones were all rusted and hard to work with. He said he'd order the glass and I dropped the truck off Tuesday morning. I left it all day and picked it up after work. Not only did the window look fantastic but he had replaced the wipers as asked AND he removed the wiper holders that I said were all rusty, and cleaned them, Rustoleum'd them! Now they are not rusty, but black, and I can drive it when it rains! That's important in Washington and Oregon. I highly recommend Dale at this location on Daniels. I tried to get an accurate estimate on what the cost for my issue would be, and he acted like I was being unreasonable and said, and I quote, "well if you're gonna be critical of the price!" What customer doesn't want an accurate price?? That was 2 days ago. I called to have someone come to my house for an estimate. He said nobody could come here until Friday , and that someone would call me with a time when they thought they might be in my area. I hadn't heard from anyone so I called vancouver glass at 10 to see if anyone would be coming out today (I live close to camas). D.L said, and I quote again, "No, we're not sending anyone out today". I wondered if anyone was going to bother to call and let me know... I cancelled my order. I'd rather talk to friendly people who seem glad to have my business. read more

The management/owners should be FIRED!! Wow, what a disappointment. I called and spoke to them about new glass in my master bathroom. I went to the downtown Vancouver location and picked out the exact style and boy, they just didn't give a crap about assisting me and the wife. They require a measurement to be complete prior to installation. I left my information and scheduled a date 2 weeks out. One week before the date I called them and confirmed the date. The person on the phone was overly rude (Dale, Dave, something like that). One the day of the appointment, I waited and waited, after haven taken time off of work. I finally called just prior to lunch to ask about a time. The person on the phone was over-the-top rude again and said they are backlogged and I needed to deal with it. Staying as polite as possible, I asked them to contact Colin *the initial person spoken to) in the field and see if they could narrow the time down to a couple hours The next call came about 15 minutes later saying they would not be coming out because they were just to busy and if I wanted to reschedule, I could. Better believe I didn't and can assure you the reader that there are many, many other glass shops in Vancouver. Stay far away from this outfit as it is run by amateur management/owners. Customer service doesn't get this bad without longevity. read more
