I tried to really love this place because the costs of my pup's grooming goes towards rescuing more pups but after the last incident we won't be returning. One of the groomers is REALLY good but she only works M-Th. I made the mistake of switching my appointment to a weekend (more convenient for me) to another groomer I hadn't used. She seemed new and less experienced when I met her in person. My dog had the worse and only allergic reaction he's ever had immediately after this grooming. He has sensitive skin which is annotated all over his record. Plus as a groomer, you should be an expert when it comes to which breeds have more sensitive skin. My lil guy is a Poodle mix and that breed is prone to sensitives. The allergic reaction was so bad we had to go to the vet and they gave him a shot to reduce his allergic reaction along with a topical spray. So after spending $84 (including 20% tip), I had to spend another $135 at the vet to get rid of my poor pup's allergic reaction that started within hours of his appointment. We had been coming to this establishment for his grooming since last year but now are forced to find a new place. There's no way I'm going to risk another allergic reaction putting me out another $135. On a positive, VD did give him a new bath with the oatmeal soak and conditioner two days after but at that point the damage was done and that only kept him from scratching less for a few hours. Medicine was his only remedy. Word of advice if you chose to come here, make sure you reiterate with every groomer of your dog's sensitivities or traits as they DO NOT keep good track of your dog's record, nor look at it prior to grooming and the groomers seem to rotate often so it's hard to build a rapport with any of them. read more

On March 25th, my roommate and I came in to look at a dog for adoption at Vanderpump Dogs. We had previously looked at the website and had decided which dog we wanted to meet. Chad greeted us and brought the dog downstairs. We filled out a quick form. A few minutes into us getting to know the dog, some woman walks in, clearly had no idea which dog to see, and asked to see the dog we were clearly interested in. Instead of doing the professional thing and asking her to wait, Chad asked us to let this woman see the dog. Here we are, prepared to adopt a dog for the rest of his life, but our time is cut short by some wishy washy customer bored in the middle of a pandemic. We waited for her to be done with the dog so we could check in with Chad on the adoption process. We sat in the lobby for upwards of 15 minutes watching the dog bark at this woman. Finally we got a word in with Chad, who was doing who knows what. We asked what the turn around time was for an adoption. He said he didn't know. Perfect. Thursday, after getting no valuable information from Chad and as my roommate was extremely interested in adoption, she reached out to Vanderpump herself. She heard back later that day and was asked to do a home check video by a woman we hadn't previously met or spoken to. Later that evening, she was approved. She set an appointment for 10am to pick up the dog. Obviously we were very excited! She rushed out to buy everything for her dog, even woke up extra early to buy specialty food and be on time to our appointment. Friday morning, we pull up at 10am. Chad walks up to us puzzled. Had no idea that she was approved to adopt, nor her name. He goes upstairs for a while, then some woman walks in from the back and we're told the dog doesn't have his shots. (Wednesday we were told he was 100% ready to adopt) We offered to take the dog to their approved vet ourselves, this was just too difficult for them to wrap their heads around.. After a lot of back and forth, we left at 11:30am with no dog. Chad mentioned "2:30-3ish" to come back. I just want to add, Los Angeles has a stay at home order in place, so for us to have to drive over 40 miles again back to Beverly Hills due to their poor communication and planning, we should have received some sort of compensation. We showed up at 3pm. Chad and the dog were no where to be found, but other people were waiting around for someone to help them. Chad finally let us know that the dog was almost back from the vet. We wait. No paperwork is given to us, no information whatsoever. Finally, the dog is brought to us by someone we haven't met, with paperwork. We're told the dog has an ear infection. Why didn't they take this dog to the vet when they got him? Beats me. Meanwhile, Chad face plants up the stairs and yells "oh fuck!" In front of the whole establishment. The woman sitting in front of us also adopting asks, "Is he drunk?" He comes down to give the woman in front of us her paperwork. He is WASTED DRUNK. Slurring his words, laughing, red in the face, can't explain anything... Long story short, we didn't leave vanderpump until 5pm...7hrs after our scheduled pickup time. No offer of any compensation whatsoever. In the middle of a pandemic. This place is supposed to be so nice and such a pleasure to adopt from, but it's a disaster. Rude, unprofessional employees who can't coordinate. Thanks but no thanks. read more

Our favorite groomer is no longer at V Dogs, so when I scheduled the grooming appointment for my 11 year old Maltipoo I was a little skeptical. My dog Coraline was scheduled with Lucy so first thing I did was look for reviews about Lucy. I only found one. So because she did such a fabulous job on Coraline I felt that she needed to have another one and she needed to be recognized for a job well done. First of all let me start off by saying how absolutely cute everything about this place is! Both the exterior and interior is so pretty in pink you'll feel like walking into barbie's house. Super cute and they keep the place really clean, organized and well-kept. So my review will be on the grooming side of things. I brought in my bichon frisé, yes 9lbs and 9 months old. It was our first grooming appt with them so I made sure to bring my rabies certificate (all groomers will ask for it upon first visit) I got the deluxe package with came with a consultation with a stylist, she was super nice very accommodating and asked what I wanted over All for my pup's look. My pup has really bad malting on his ears from scratching so she said we had to shave it and start new, which was perfect. It took 2-3 hours and they called 10 mins before he was ready to give us a head's up. I got 20% off since it was our first visit. The results are 10 stars out of 5! I will attach before and after pics and the photos will speak for themselves. I'm very much impressed with their work. My pup is like a brand new dog! A prized winning puppy! They exceeded my expectations and my pup was all smiles and all sorts of happy when we picked him up. No anxiety or anything at all. I had a really hard morning. One of my friends in LA shared this story about a beautiful 6 month old German Shepherd Puppy who was in a kill shelter. I know this happens all the time but I couldn't sit back and do nothing. I posted the story and reached out to my network to help this angel. One of my best friends works next door and called us Friday because she found the perfect pup for us to adopt. She sent us a pic ( so adorable!) I immediately turned the car around, cancelled 2 appointments, and went straight there. My friend, an Angel of a person, was buying the dog as a gift for my 11 year old daughter. She offered to pay the full adoption price, $400 , to have them hold the dog until we got there.They said No, not the procedure. We got there and it was love at first sight for my daughter and I. My friend had fallen in love with the dog, Flynn, and had been in there the 2 days before checking on it and wanted to adopt him, but she couldn't because just got a puppy a few months ago. No one told her anyone else was interested. Magically, after we arrive Peyton (who a has a special coldness for one so young) informs us that there are 2 families ahead of us. They had just magically discovered 2 emails requesting Flynn from an event the night before. My friend was stunned, nobody told her and she called us to come straight away. My daughter started to cry and we said is there anyway we could get him? Peyton said..." even if you were first , but you are 3rd, you would still have to go through a home visit, because that's how it's done , and that could not happen before Monday because Sarah who handles the adoptions was out of town at a Wedding. We decided we would go there everyday and visit until Monday , when we could meet with Sarah. My daughter went with her Father Sat. morning and was told that Flynn was at the Vets overnight. Peyton, my daughter told me rudely said:" you know your 3 right? " and my daughter left and called me upset. I called later that day to see when Flynn would be back. They said someone would call to tell me, they didn't. When I called yesterday to see If Flynn was back ,so we could visit, I was told Flynn was still at the vets and somebody would call to let us know when he was coming back, they did not. I called a little while ago to see if Flynn was back and I was informed that he was adopted last night. I was shocked. " Really??? I said, at the vets? And without a home visit that we were told you had to have. This all just magically happened? And without Sarah in town? The employee stumbled over her words and said Sarah would call me back. I won't hold my breath. Vanderpump Dogs has all the business practices of a high school click. I guess because I'm not the head cheerleader, I didn't get the dog. But I am in the entertainment industry and will encourage all my friends not to support not just this place, but any Vanderpump establishment. My days at the Pump Room are over. I'm very saddened by my experience here tonight. I came to drop off some blankets to donate for the dogs and of course went in to look at all the pups as well. There was a volunteer (I wish I had asked his name) but he had very long dark hair, very unfriendly, the first dog I went to pet he immediately jumped in and was like he doesn't like his head touched he's not very friendly.... 1 second later the dog comes up to me is licking me and I'm petting the dog normally and he's like oh wow he likes you. The first words out of a volunteers mouth trying to get dogs adopted... shouldn't be to scare the person away! The next dogs I go to, he says one isn't very friendly, comes right up to me again kissing me , I'm petting it he's like wow you're good with them. Like umm I think they are just good dogs! What was especially not good is that all the dog areas were full of pee, it stunk, and means no one is taking them out to pee almost all the pens had pee in them... as the volunteer is just sitting there not even cleaning it. Then another worker said to start bringing the dogs upstairs and the volunteer grabs two at once and the guys like do not grab two, take one at a time so you don't drop them.... why would u hire someone who doesn't know how to do basic things like hold a dog properly??? Then two dogs started fighting so horrible I wanted to cry. They were barking like crazy sooooo loud, horrible growling noise attacking each other, the volunteer does nothing, I'm banging on the side of their thing trying to get them to stop, someone else who works there comes running wondering why the volunteer isn't doing anything. The dogs are FULL ON attacking each other looked like was gonna rip each other to shreds, the guy pulls them apart and checks to make sure they're ok... but why in gods name would u put two dogs in the same pen that fight THAT bad, I've never seen anything like that in my life. Overall not good at all which is so sad as Lisa Vanderpump loves dogs so much and saves so many that you think the place would take much better care when looking after them and trying to get them adopted. I adopted a poor little guy with my fiance a few weeks ago. He was 13 years old and looked like he had just been pulled off the street. In reality he had been at VPD for quite a while. Being so old and "worn" he had been shown zero interest for adoption. Upon adopting him, we had noticed a large open cyst on his neck that was oozing and bleeding, ears that had years of wax and neglect. Nearly 50% of his teeth were so maltreated that they all needed to be extracted. Now the previous owners are obviously responsible, but it's hard to look past the fact that he was at a GROOMER and had zero care or grooming. We were also told the pal he was brought to the shelter with passed shortly before we came and adopted our little buddy. I'd be curious how poor he was cared for. It's hard to follow them on IG and see how immaculately cared for all the dogs in the images are when our poor little guy looks like he has been surviving on the streets. We haven't questioned caring for him nor experienced an ounce of "buyer's remorse". We aren't those kind of people. But it should be known a simple adoption has cost upwards of $1K in bills that were simple preventative care. Also, Vanderpump used OUR adopted dog's picture to promote the organization. In it he looks well taken care of and this was NOT the case. I am very, very disappointed when this kind of money doesn't just show up out of nowhere. We've been adopting shelter animals at county and city shelters and have never seen nor experience such poor care of an animal. Open, bleeding wounds? Entire mouths of loose teeth? Years of wax buildup? Unacceptable. My social media following of 2.5 millions are following my little adopted dog and they all are concerned about this. I would hate to having to express where he's from and how poorly your facility treated him AND the amount of money I've paid for him to fix issues you definitely could have taken better care of. I would never go back to this place......ever. Before I bought a Gilt City coupon I called and spoke to a person who identified herself as Brooke. I told her the breed and weight of my dog and wanted to make sure that I was buying the correct coupon and that, other than tip, there would be no additional charges. She assured me that unless there was matting on the dog my coupon would be honored as payment in full with the exception of my tip,of course. She said she would note my account that we had this conversation just in case she wasn't there when I arrived. She put me in the system and told me to bring me to bring vaccination papers and that I could come in a bit early to have paperwork recorded. I showed up 15 minutes before my appointment and met Brooke who took care of my paperwork and after looking closely at my dogs coat that was in great condition she assured me that there was no matting and that I would not be paying more than my coupon plus tip. The place is a shocking pink disaster inside. There adorable doggies available for adoption kept jumping over the little areas they were staying in and were running, out of control, all over the place, . The 20 something guy in charge had no clue how to get them back into their areas and it was total chaos. Poor Brooke didn't know where the assigned groomer was and she showed up 15 minutes late for work and my appointment and I tried to explain, the best I could, what I wanted and she pretended to listen but was distracted and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I ended up being late for work and when I picked up my pup noticed that there was VERY little done at all. Here's the corker. I showed up with a $10. tip in my hand and she told me that because of the breed (Maltipoo) it would cost me an additional $10. for this breed. She then put the cash in her pocket Beware of this place. It is a big rip off. She should have paid me $10. for showing up 15 minutes after the time of our scheduled. I threw away her card but her name had therr letters and was something like Puh (poo). At this rate this place will not stay in business. They owe me some consideration however I would never bring my dog there again under any circumstances! Warning.......check it out and meet your groomer before booking an appt. read more

Vanderpump Dogs has my heart. My husband and i adopted our dog from here 2 months ago. The staff is incredible and they take such amazing care of their animals. My dog Frankie ( previously saint) was found in horrible condition, and they nursed him back to health before we adopted him. One of the main reasons we adopted from here was because of the environment. If you have been to other shelters, you often see cages and a jail like environment. At Vanderpump, the animals are well cared for in an open environment with amazing staff that love them all day long. It's such an amazing place and I'm so lucky to have found them. read more

This review is based on the customer service solely. As soon as we stepped in the store, We felt the bad energy of the employees. I'm not sure if they were prejudice or just annoyed because we came 15min before they were closing. The first thing one the employee told us was: WE ARE closing, when clearly there was so many customers still inside. Not helpful when you ask them questions. Very bad and rude. I feel like they opened this place just for show. Not for good intentions. read more

This place is heaven and Martin is the nicest guy out there! My 6 months old puppy needed his very first grooming and I was super emotional/nervous. Drop off was super easy, Martin met us outside and asked me all the questions on what I want/how I want + reassured me that he is in good hands. He called me 2,5 hours later and my boy was the handsomest ever!! More than anything he was looking so happy and that's literally everything! Highly recommend Martin for all the furry babies! read more

Stopped by today with my Lil Rescue Dog Betty Paige. The store is Incredible! So plush and beautiful you can tell Lisa and Ken have been very hands on with this entire process. It's a real homely environment where the staff are friendly and clearly knowledgeable about all things canine! I decided to Get Betty's nails done as we were there and the lady that helped was very gentle and caring over my nervous lil' Lady. Such a great experience and one I'm sure to be repeating. Lisa your heart is huge, thank you for pouring your love into this store. 10/10 for all aspects. (Whilst you're there please take a look at the pups who need adopting, adorable!) read more
