At that price, the food better be good! It took about 20 minutes to get our food, and seating was a little challenging for our group of 9 since most of the tables were set up for two people. We ended up pushing several tables together ourselves. Thankfully, the food delivered. The shrimp were huge, the noodles were delicious, and the shrimp burrito was excellent. I have ordered Vanilla Rice hibachi a hand full of times through grubhub. I have to say, the price is a little high, but oh man is it good. Like so good I don't really care that with the delivery and fees it makes a plate and a lemonade about $50. Could I drive myself there and negate this pricing issue? Probably. I paid $18 (before tax) for a chicken bowl and I got maybe one chicken breast worth of chicken. Kinda disappointing tbh. Vanilla Rice Hibachi is so good that my husband has requested it again. The Flamingo location near me is a carry-out location. Our first visit we ordered online and picked it up on our way home from work. When you walk in there is a place you can order and a pick up line so it was quick and easy. Don't be shocked by the price because the take home dish is loaded, fresh and delicious. We each ordered chicken and steak with the rice and veggies and it was so good and well worth it. I ordered a steak bowl last night and was extremely disappointed with what I received. I come here often and usually enjoy the food, so this experience was a big letdown. The rice in my bowl had a dry crust on it, like it had been sitting out for hours. The steak was tough, had a strange smell, and tasted nowhere near fresh. On top of that, there were no vegetables in my bowl at all. I ended up taking a couple pieces of zucchini and broccoli from my daughter's plate just to have something, and she also paid $25 for her meal. For the price, the quality was unacceptable. The meal looked and tasted old, and the portion was disappointing. Even the customer service was off -- the young woman at the counter was not polite and came across as rude. I'm a regular customer, so I was genuinely surprised and disappointed by how poorly everything was handled. I first heard about Vanilla Rice's Hibachi House through my boot camp gym, where the owner, Zach "Vanilla Rice" Tolen, was in one of my boot camp classes just recently. This place is located on Flamingo and Pecos, in an older side of Las Vegas that I usually don't frequent as much, unless I'm visiting my family friend and her son, who live literally right around the corner from here. Please keep in mind that this is a to-go place ONLY - there are absolutely no dine-in options here. My boyfriend went inside to go get the food and he told me when he got back out to the car that there was only one chair inside. I could already tell that the food was going to be yummy because I could smell their hibachi from the car. We placed an order through DoorDash prior to heading out. We ordered a side of potstickers with a drizzle of yum yum sauce, a steak bowl, and a chicken burrito. DoorDash told us that it would be ready in about 15-20 minutes, with the drive there taking about 20 minutes. Our order was not exactly ready when we got there, in which we waited an additional 10-15 minutes. The potstickers were really good, but I felt that the yum yum sauce was a bit on the sweet side. The chicken burrito had a mix of rice and noodles inside, including a variety of vegetables. I ended up nicknaming it the "Chinese Burrito" due to its' ingredients. I was really enjoying my burrito...until I came towards the end of it. Some of the noodles at the bottom were dry/not cooked all the way through and I came really close to chipping a tooth as a result. Luckily I didn't. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak bowl, which basically had the same ingredients as my burrito, except he had steak and not chicken. He said that he had some dry noodles towards the end of his bowl as well. It was also expensive compared to the quality of the food we received, so my final star rating here is a 3. I placed my order on their kiosk system, but I couldn't figure out how to enter a discount code that I had gotten from signing up on their Facebook page. The staff member, whose name I unfortunately didn't get, came out and helped me with it. Unlike their Charleston location, this one on Flamingo is pickup & takeout only, so there's no real ambiance to speak of, other than an ordering kiosks and a pickup window, but the friendly staff and windows to watch the cook work his magic still created a cool vibe in there that I liked. I went in with some mixed feelings because of the prices. However, the food is made fresh to order and is delicious. The chicken was not dry and was tender. Everything was seasoned to perfection. All of the sauces I tried were really good. Honestly, I don't mind the price given the quality. The only piece of feedback I would give is to train the staff to give better service. Im so glad we have this place a shot. I was drawn in by the name. I thought it was hilarious. We got our food "to go". I don't like to eat in restaurants because I physically can't eat enough to warrant two meals (surgery to repair my esophagus had some poor post surgical outcomes). It's often a whole thing for restaurants to let us split, and it's kind of embarrassing because they always think it's because we're cheap. I'm just not wasteful. My husband and I split the steak & salmon, plus a pot sticker appetizer. I reeeeally wish I could have ate more than what a toddler would eat. It was sooooo delicious. This place is the best. We live in Southern California and every time we go to Vegas we make it a point come here and they never disappoint!! We have make the trip to Vanilla Rice's 4 times so far! The staff is always so friendly and are great at what they do. We went there this last weekend (Saturday 10/25/2025) it was busy but they staff was doing there best to make the orders fast but still keeping quality. As long as this place is open, I will continue to make the drive from CA to Las Vegas... sometimes even planning Vegas trips around our craving for the food. While browsing Instagram, I discovered a fascinating video featuting Vanilla Rice Habachi owner in conversation with Dana White. Given that my husband previously worked with Dana and consistently offers excellent food recommendations, we decided to try it out. We ordered a total of four items two plates: one with lobster, chicken, steak, and vegetables, and another with steak, lobster, shrimp, and vegetables. And two chicken bowls. The food was exceptional. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and a squeeze of lemon enhanced the taste of the proteins and vegetables. Although the chicken was slightly dry for my preference, the orange sauce provided a delightful complement. Overall, the food was outstanding, and I look forward to returning.
