    Wow, sensory overload. The young adults love this place. Fun, we got some Christmas shopping out of the way. I'm sure we'll be back to this location when visiting Manhattan Beach

    I've lived in the SB now for ten years and this was my first time going inside this shop...probably because I've pretty much outgrown casual tennis shoes and it would look pretty silly if I rocked these shoes with a pencil skirt and blouse to work. However, I had to buy my daughter all white tennis shoes for her hip hop dance recital so hubby actually suggested that I come here....totally forgot they existed even though I drive by them every day on my way to work. They had exactly what I needed, classic, all white lace ups in a kids 10 for $35. I even got suckered into unicorn vans and a reusable tote bag. Anyway, $80 later, I had a happy little Kid with Unicorn shoes that could make her jump higher than any of her other shoes. Service was great. The two guys helping me were very patient with my daughter, friendly and very mellow. They have some really creative prints now unlike the canvas and suede ones they had back in the 90s. Would def come back to get some new kicks for my little guy for pre-school next year. Parking is around back.

    Came here to get my first board and maybe shoes as well. Stock here is good. Parking in rear. Customer service wasn't good. Even though I was there to buy a skateboard with my money for myself- I was 90% ignored. All questions were directed to my boyfriend even though I was clear the board was for myself and I was purchasing AND that I had questions. Responses to my questions were also not directed at me. Very odd experience- would give even less stars but I'm sure other staff must be friendlier. Wanted to try on shoes but no one asked me if I needed help even though I was looking around the (small) store. If you don't enjoy your job or your customers... why are you there? Not sure if I would return due to the service but they had a variety of shoes, boards, hats, sunglasses etc that were pretty awesome.

    Limited / small parking lot. Nice clean store...most of the staff was friendly and provided a quick service.

And my spontaneously visiting the South Bay, I wanted to see Dino and/or sons next door at Paisano's. With the immediate positive greeting from Michelle's salesperson, Joy, I felt so welcome. And looking around, I would have gotten "in trouble" with my credit card if I had been at Saks Fifth Avenue or the like. The dresses, the jewelry, the beautiful and unique cow print skirts... wow. And my boyfriend had not yet gifted me a Christmas present. Opportunity. With the help of Joy, we took photos, and that helped me "sell" my boyfriend. Joy and I really had fun, taking photos, deciding on which shawls, what jewelry - what really "meshed" with my wardrobe and current jewelry. texted photos to my boyfriend. He quickly agreed that these would be "his" Christmas gift to me. The best thing? I honestly did not get into as much trouble (money-wise) as the prices were reasonable - and there was a special. The shawl, the earrings, the bracelets (that match my newly purchased jewelry in Morocco) AND the perfect gray cowboy hat, that salesperson Joy strongly recommended, were perfect in my wardrobe. The neatest part? I wore all of, every purchased item this afternoon, the shawl, the jewelry (bracelets and earrings), the gray cowboy hat -  and received 3 compliments from strangers. Thank you so much, as I hope to purchase the "heart" silver bracelet if it might be fixed, allowing stronger magnetism.  I am so impressed with the salesperson AND the quality of the jewelry and clothes. Thank you for my belated Christmas gifts!

Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. The employees closely followed us throughout the store and made us feel as though we were being watched because they assumed we might steal something. The treatment we received felt like racial profiling, and it was both embarrassing and hurtful. Rather than feeling like valued customers, we felt judged and singled out. Despite the uncomfortable atmosphere, I still made a purchase and bought a pair of earrings. However, that purchase was only a fraction of what I intended to spend. I came into the store fully prepared to buy multiple items and would have gladly spent considerably more. Instead, the employees' behavior completely discouraged me from continuing to shop. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that the store lost out on a much larger sale because of the way my daughters and I were treated. Customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and respected--not scrutinized and judged. Had we been treated with kindness and professionalism, I likely would have purchased several additional items and returned in the future. I also noticed several other potential customers walk into the store and quickly leave without making a purchase. Customer service plays a huge role in whether people choose to shop and spend money, and unfortunately, that was severely lacking during my visit. I have never felt so profiled while shopping before, and it was a deeply upsetting experience. No customer should be made to feel uncomfortable because of their appearance, race, or background. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides better training to ensure that all customers are treated with respect, dignity, and professionalism. When it happened the second time I decided to make this review. The employee looked at me and then returned to what they were doing and a second later asked another customer if she needed anything. I believe I was being profiled that I would not spend like that customer. It is extremely upsetting to be profiled when I am happy to spend money on quality goods with great customer service.

    I was excited for the shirt I purchased. It was the 1955 Abilene denim shirt. I am both an avid…read morein-store and online consumer of clothing from many high-end companies. This was my first experience with Rowan. I loved the design online and ordered immediately. It took a bit longer than usual to get it, but that was fine. The first issue was the sizing. I wear a classic Large. Every single shirt from every company from which I order is a Large and they all fit. I read the sizing carefully to make sure it wasn't a slim fit. I can wear those, but I don't like the style. When I opened the package and tried it on, it was immediately too small and tight. I was surprised, as this never happens with any other company. But, not the end of the world. I simply put it back in the packaging and opted to return it. That is when things went off the rails and have me leaving my FIRST negative review ever for a clothing company! When I printed the return label, I was immediately told they would be keeping around $8.00 for the return. Annoying, as most companies do not do this, but I let it go. It's frustrating when it's on me to bring it to USPS to return and that I already paid Rowan for shipping. But, hey, it was my first experience with them and I just rolled my eyes and let it go. A few days later, I received a notification that they had gotten my return, but need 15 days to inspect the return before refunding my money. I honestly was stunned. I have never heard of such a thing before, not with any other company, and I literally wore this shirt for about 2 minutes and returned it in the same packaging in which it came. This is a $195.00 shirt and the return should have been immediately processed. At that point, I wrote an email to the company inquiring why they would need 15 days to inspect a return and refund my money. It took around 48 hours for me to get a response and what they said was that they are a small company and it takes time to get through them. At that point I rightfully asked, 'Do you get so many returns as a small company that you can't go through them in a day or two? Do you think that is fair to potential customers who purchased from you and didn't get what they hoped for?' After another day, I got a response saying that they would make a note to try to get through it sooner. Well, no. That did not happen and this dragged on for nearly two weeks. I finally sent yet another email expressing extreme dissatisfaction with this process and ultimately got an email back telling me that my return had been processed and I should be receiving my refund notification shortly. And yes, I did immediately after. Now, here is the kicker! This company had the audacity to charge me $22.00 to return the shirt that I ordered from them, that didn't fit, and that I returned in the original packaging. They took two weeks to "inspect" it and only refunded an amount less $22.00! No explanation, just deciding to keep my money for themselves after their product did not fit me. In all my years of shopping, both online and in-store, I have never experienced anything like this and it feels pretty close to a scam. What could be the possible explanation for keeping $22.00 of my money after I returned an item that didn't fit? A quality company is not just about the material they use. It is about the customer service and the integrity of the company itself. The way Rowan did business from the moment I began this return process deserves a lower grade than I can give it here. I would like my $22.00 returned immediately. What is possible justification is keeping that much of a customer's money when their product doesn't fit. Feels like a scam and something punitive for returning their product. I would never recommend this company to a single person. Period. I am admittedly very unhappy about this and I believe rightfully so.
