It's not hard to see why Vantage Point Coffee has gotten off to a great start since it opened earlier this year! It really checks all the boxes I look for when placing one in the stellar category. Things like being well decorated (the walls have a good amount of art and pictures spread throughout and it's not overwhelming), adequate seating, along with a variety of it is as well (there is regular table seating, some soft chairs, and bar style seating near the entrance), the right kind of baristas (courtesy and happy to talk with customers - along with being able to make a solid white mocha latte for me!), and personally, I just enjoy being there. Vantage Point Coffee got off to an outstanding start on all things I look for in a coffee shop, so I stuck around! Well, part of the reason was that a friend of mine who was supposed to meet me here had to canceled, so I took advantage of the time to get pics and talk to two excellent baristas, Presliegh and Zach. Presleigh gave me the low down on what Vantage Point was all about, while Zach and I chatted about sports a bit as we men like to do! Well, here's what I really loved! First, I will say that I'm not crazy about Monin syrup and I usually avoid shops that use it. It's just because of my taste buds, not so much any coffee shop's fault. HOWEVER, when I saw the Ghirardelli dark chocolate syrup on the back counter, it was all over! They let me know that they make their lattes with the dark and white chocolate Ghirardelli syrups! I was all in! I picked the Holiday peppermint mocha frap dark chocolate version. Why am I crazy about Ghirardelli syrups? I first had my lattes with it in San Diego and it's stuck with me since -with no regrets! Presleigh made an outstanding Holiday frap for me. I didn't catch her before the drizzle and the sprinkles were added, but it was ok. I drank every bit of it and WILL return on Christmas week to get that Holiday white chocolate either latte or frap depending on the weather. Of note, The shop was clean and well kept on the counters and seating areas. I really liked that people are informed on how to get on the free WiFi right at the register. At least it makes answering the 50 Yelp questions easier to answer when you try to check in on the app! It is a nice convenience. I would say they might consider lowering the music a little. It was on the border of being loud - just for awareness. Other than that, I was a sugared up very happy hombre on this day! Stop by here and visit! I work remotely and I used my early " lunch" hour for breakfast while on my exercise walks-run to " make a pit stop" I can meet and chat w/the Owner and his associate's their manners are impeccable, good to chat about the NFL season of just " LIFE" The muffins are filing but my favorite food are the bagels and croissants. EXTRA EXTRA! New coffee shop near 295 & Monument that roasts their own beans! My iced vanilla latte was strong and creamy, and the team in the shop was warm and welcoming. There are many small tables to sit and work in the warm orange and cream shaded environment. The cold brew was smokier than expected but not unpleasant and I wish they had simple syrup for cold drinks instead of sugar, but they just opened so hopefully they can add that soon. read more

This was a stop on the Jax Coffee & Donuts Trail. After walking at Jacksonville Arboretum, my son and I came for breakfast and coffee. It was easy to find, but parking was crowded for the shopping center. It was a nice space with plenty of seating and tables. The barista greeted us warmly and asked for our order. My son pointed out the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel, and I chose the special cinnamon latte, iced. I was able to locate the Jax Coffee & Donuts code to put into my app to confirm my visit. The bagel and the coffee were around $14. I was able to sit down with my son to wait for our order. The coffee was made quickly, and the bagel came out five minutes later. The bagel was fresh, made with real ingredients, and tasted delicious. Definitely get it with the everything bagel seasoning. The latte had a light cinnamon taste to it, and it was cool to drink on a hot summers day. It was a nice visit and I highly recommend! read more

I visited this coffee shop for the first time after a meeting at the nearby Jacksonville Arboretum. I am not usually on this side of town, but did a quick Yelp search to see what coffee shops nearby. I have had Vantage Point on my radar, but didn't know where it was. I have been to Rod's Crab Shack before (in the same shopping center), so I realized where I was once I parked. This coffee shop is conveniently located in a plaza with lots of parking. First impression walking in was the waft of air conditioning on a super hot day. They kept it very cool and comfortable inside. The head barista greeted me and told me about the menu. He was so sweet and genuinely loves his job. I ordered the specialty drink "The Meadow". It was an iced americano with honey and lavender cold foam. What a treat! This coffee is strong and I was instantly hooked. I bought a bag of beans on the way out and raved about my americano to my boyfriend later that day. The shop had Frank Sinatra playing and there were a few other people there meeting with friends and working on their laptops. I also had a blueberry muffin that they heated up for me. What a delicious treat!! I had such a great experience. The only con of this trip was the Mary Kay lady that came in and complimented my makeup, then proceeded to try to sell me skincare/makeup products. I repeatedly told her I wasn't interested, but she was persistent. I had to tell her I was working and didn't have time to talk. She left right after, so I'm not even sure if she was a customer or not. I feel like someone there should know about this solicitation. Stopped in the Monument location a couple of times for a small cup of coffee & the happy hour special piqued my interest. Finally was over that way around 3:30 and tried the large frappe for $5. It was worth $20. While I was there I purchased a 22 ounce bag of Columbian beans. The barista ground them for me and I left with a good feeling about this jewel of a coffee shop. I had purchased a Melitta pour over coffee maker recently and made a pot of Vantage Point coffee. This was the smoothest cup of coffee I have ever made. I have a digital scale on order and the coffee should be even better when I can use the Vantage Point method. Awesome coffee shop. Clean and well appointed. I have no idea about the good reviews. Went there and asked for a quad shot over ice with a splash of heavy cream and was told it would cost 9 bucks. Also, the BLT was dry bacon with crap lettuce that was overpriced considering the quality of ingredients. I wanted to enjoy this place since it down the street but nothing could get me to return. Glad some are enjoying the place but I'm not understanding why when there are other "decent" places in Jax. No coffee shops are great here. Just poorly executed off brand Starbucks. I come from Asheville NC where if your coffee isn't excellent, you fail quickly as a business. Guess I'm spoiled.
