Tldr: Great place for yummy Italian food, especially if you are going with a large party or if you want freshly made food to pick up and go! If you want a place with yummy fresh made Italian food look no further. Great place in Brickell for either sitting down with a group for friends or getting food to go. They have plenty of seating- on comfy couch like seats outside or large tables inside. The way it works is you get a card when you first walk in and you can go to the bar or whatever food station and order what you want. They will scan your order onto your card and at the end when you leave you pay. This makes it a perfect place for a large party where everyone wants to split the bill. The food is made fresh right in front of you. They have a great selection of pastas, pizza, risottos, and salads. For the pastas, you can choose your style of pasta and whatever you want from the menu plus any add on items you want mixed in with it. I got the Verdure pizza which was fantastic. Thin crust, and juicy with the right amount of sauce and cheese so that it isn't too heavy. They had an array of veggies including zucchini, bell peppers, eggplant and mushrooms roasted to perfection. I added some red chili pepper flakes for the final touch. Some other people in my group got the pesto pasta and were not disappointed. The pasta comes with bread and you can always ask for more. Happy Hour: Happy hour on the weekdays from 4-8pm and all night on the weekends! They have a limited selection for happy hour: La Fiera Pinot Grigio, La Fiera Montepulciano Doc, Modelo, another beer, and red and white sangria for $3.95 a glass. I got the Montepublciano Doc and although it wasn't the fanciest of wines it was a good choice to go with my pizza. Protip: If you check in you get a free Dolci. I choose the Nutella cheesecake. Fresh, handmade pasta, cooked before your eyes. Vapiano is such a Brickell staple amongst my friends, I initially didn't realize it's a chain. They have so many options, each time I spend at least 15 minutes debating which pasta to choose. But so far, I've tried the Crema Di Funghi, Pesto Basilico, Carbonara Salmone, Chicken Alfredo, and Filetto Di Manzo E Rucola. You can really tell the pasta is fresh and they use just the right amount of oil to satisfy my Italian food cravings. Vapiano is a large restaurant venue with outdoor and indoor seating. Nice overall ambiance as it has modern decorative styles and yet still comfortable seating. The restaurant gives you a card where you hand over to the cooks. They have multiple pasta stations and one pizza station where you order one of their delectable food items or the cooks can also customize your meal. The cook then puts your total order on the card and you pay at the front kiosk before you leave. Service is great and the servers will give you unlimited fresh bread (this is important for carb lovers, aintiright?), keep your table tidy, offer you more parmesan cheese, and a variety of olive oils. The tables have mills for that nice cracked black pepper and sea salt. We ordered pasta dishes and pizza. Portions are average sized and the cooks are ridiculously generous with the parmesan cheese. I had meat ravioli with pink sauce. It was tasty and a quick fix to my pasta craving (when I don't have much time or don't feel like cooking). We shared a Dolci, which was a simple cream and sliced strawberries in a cup. That was the winner. They also offer wines and your Agua di Pannas, Pellegrinos and Perriers. Located on 19thish and Brickell Ave (US1), street parking might be tricky but there are nearby garages. You may want to walk afterward anyway! This place is very wow. Everything about the place impressed me. Definitely the best pasta I've ever had in my life and probably the best I will ever have. Been here a few times from when I used to live in Miami and I remember after my first bite, I thought my soul left my body and ascended. If any of y'all watch the anime Shokugeki no Soma, y'all would know how I feel. Every time I go back to Vapiano, I'm just chasing that first high. For realz though this pasta is seriously good. They make it fresh in store and you can see them making it through a little window. In fact, all the ingredients taste incredibly fresh and each dish is perfectly seasoned. Basically, you seat yourself, a waiter gives you a menu, and you order at the station (pasta/risotto, pizza, and salad) of your desired food. Then the chefs cook up your order, which only takes about 5-10 minutes. You can choose the amount of spice and which kind of pasta to use in your dish. Also, the dishes are very customizable, so there's something for everyone. The risotto is also gluten free! I ordered pasta caprese and added shrimp, it was extra but worth it. Very delicious! The dishes range from pasta (you can also add a main protein like salmon, shrimp or steak to it) carpaccio, to lasagna and pizza. They also serve a wide variety of salads and every dish is totally customizable. They offer gluten free and vegan options like spelt pasta. They also have TVs with all the sports games running and a full bar. At night the ambience evolves to a cheap and chic romantic place for a dinner or a wonderful take out for a movie at home. Stayed at a hotel close by and walked to Vapiano's based on the reviews. It was a bit confusing after being informed by the greeter about the process, but after we got in line we figured it out. You are given a card by the greeter and can charge up to $50 per card (one per person) before you must cash out. Then you look at the menu and stand in line to place your order with the Chef. When it's your turn in line the Chef charges your meal to the card. We enjoyed this so much because we were able to adjust the spices in our meal. You then grab a tray, silverware and napkins. This is 100% self serve. You then must find a seat and go to the bar for drinks. At the bar we met Carlos the bar tender. He Made me an awesome Margarita with the house tequila. Such a cute place. My wife and I tried this place in New York, suggested we should have one in Miami and long and behold the waitress said we do have one. The place has stations, one being for pasta, one for pizza and salads and another for dessert. The food is made in front of you, and the flavors catch your nostrils within seconds. A co-worker took me here for lunch, and while I thought it was a cool and interesting concept, at the same time it feels a bit disorganized, especially for first timers. We arrived and the woman at the register handed me a charge card, and explained that this card would be scanned each time I ordered something. After I'd eaten, I'd bring that card back to the register and pay for all items that were scanned or charged to it. Great, but that's about all the direction I was given, and once I left the front desk, everything was a bit disorganized. I saw lines of people, but no real explanation of what you would get from each station, why they were waiting in line, or what the process was. Luckily my co-worker explained everything to me a bit more thoroughly than the staff did. I looked at the menu he gave me and decided on the bruschetta pizza. I went to the pizza guy (there was no wait for pizza, but there were lines 4 or 5 deep at each of the pasta stations), he took my order, told me to scan my card, then had to show me exactly where/how, then had to do it for me as the machine wasn't working correctly. He told me to take a pager from the docking station which would alert me when my food was ready; I had to spin the pager around a few times as he attempted to see the number to program it into the point of sale machine. In all, it just didn't feel like an intuitive and straightforward process. While waiting for my pizza to be ready, I made my way to the bar to get a bottle of juice. The woman there was a bit more helpful, but after she entered the info about the juice I bought, I had to excuse myself and try and weave through 3 other customers to get to the end of the counter where the point of sale machine was located so I could scan my card. Again, a bit awkward. A few moments later my food was ready, I picked it up, grabbed silverware and was off. The prices were fair; it was $9.95 for the pizza and $3.50 for the cranberry juice. Based on this experience, I'd give this place a solid 3 stars. 4 stars for the food and the general concept which is unique, but 2 stars for the cumbersome, unintuitive and somewhat disjointed process with ordering and the charge cards. With maybe a bit more explanation and some signage for the newbies, that might cause me to raise my overall rating. read more

So GOOD!! I remember I first tried Vapiano in D.C. years ago and my wishes came true when they opened this location a little while ago. :) I just love the concept. You get a card upon entering and all orders are uploaded on your personal card. You pay at the end. It is kind of an upscale cafeteria style spot. There are particular stations for pasta, salad, pizza, etc and you go to the line of your choice. There are delicious menu items or you're free to tweak menu options or create your own dish. You can interact with and watch the chefs cook. :). Everyone in our party ordered pasta dishes and dessert( tiramisu) and it was all delicious. The ambiance is trendy, fun, and open. There are trees and plants right next to tables, as well as candle lit booths and an up stairs area for more intimate dining. There is a full bar, desserts, and of course, free gummy bears on the way out. Its probably a good thing that this restaurant is not right next door to me, Or I'd be carb loading on their delicious and freshly made pastas and pizzas every day. Maybe throw in one of their salads once in a while ;) Parking in Brickell is usually a pain but there is a free 2 hour validation in the parking garage connected to the building that Vapiano is located in. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! This place is my go-to for date night and has important meaning in my life as I constantly visit with my boyfriend. Nothing better than getting your food cooked right in front of you. Their pasta is fresh and homemade (at the restaurant every day!) which makes it even more delicious. When entering, the hostess hands you a plastic card which you then go around the different restaurant areas to order food and the cooks will scan your card each time you order. My FAVORITE is the SALMON CARBONARA. Everyone must try it at least once in their life. I still need to try their pizzas, but have tasted a wide variety of pastas and appetizers (including the beef carpaccio, yum) I'll continue to visit Vapiano on a regular basis, including taking friends and family when they come visit. read more

They serve some french bread that is one of the best I've had in South Florida. When you are finished with your meal, you pay at the front. Came to Miami for a cruise and stopped here because the yelp reviews were so high. This place definitely didnt disappoint. Its inside a hotel, but the patio outside was really inviting. When walking you are given a tap card, and with that you can keep track of all your order. I ended up getting the Carbonara, which i like extra garlic and added some broccoli for a buck. The pasta was so creamy and delicious, and these Chefs really work for there customers. Overall- if I am in the Miami area, I will be sure to bring back family and friends. I love eating here and am so glad its on Brickell Ave! My classmates and I come here for happy hour and dinner before class a couple times a month. Everything is cooked made to order but the concept is fast food-like where they put the ordering in the hands of the customer. The chefs ask you exactly what you want and give you a buzzer for when its ready! The quality of the food and the customer service from their staff have yet to fail me. I love that you get to customize your entree with whatever pasta you'd like. My favorite is fusilli so that's my go-to with any of the sauces (usually). I've had many pastas from here but my go-to's are the crema di funghi with chicken and bolognese. My classmates love their salads! The favorite is definitely the avocado e scampi which has MANGOS. Once you go in into the restaurant you will get a card that you will have to hand it in when you order the food. There are 3 stations: pasta, salad & pizza. The menu is pretty simple. You go to the station you want food from, order, see how they prepare it (deliciously - of course) and voila!! The Chef will swipe your card to "charge" whatever is that you ordered. The Chef will give you your food, and you go to one of the "picnic style" tables. Ambiance is very nice, it's chic, simple and the food is super yummi!! All ingredients are super duper fresh, pastas are home made (look @ the factory in the second floor), pizzas are done in front of you! I loved the freshness of all of the ingredients. I was looking forward to try this restaurant but was very disappointed! Looong, long wait for our 2 pizzas. After like 1/2 hour we were informed that the ovens were busy so the wait was going to be longer. We were just offered 2 pieces of bread to wait even longer. After a while my daughter's pizza finally arrived but after she takes a bite she starts making horrible faces!! They brought her a blue cheese pizza instead of a margarita as we ordered in the kid's menu! After a while they bring the right margarita but my daughter didn't want to eat it anymore after that taste still in her mouth! I paid $34 for 1 pizza and a little children's margarita pizza she didn't even eat! When they saw my face leaving the restaurant someone working there asked me what went wrong and after I explained everything he starts walking away mumbling something like "there is no blue Cheese pizza in the kids menu! " and looking And that's it! No discount for the pizza she didn't eat or nothing! Very bad organization and customer service! We went there for dinner on Saturday. the place was not busy, and we got in immediately. the hostess explained the concept, we each got a card and went to either a pasta station or pizza station. At the station, you make your order, swipe the card, and watch your order being made. When your order is ready, you take it back to the table. The pasta was excellent, and full of flavor. We were there Jan 1st and as you enter the rest the whole scene was a little caotic, there not many instructions or guides that allow you to navigate easily in this selfservice experience, the customers have to find out and learn the ordering process by trial and error. You get a charge card on arrival, order at a station and pay before exiting the building. They have 3 stations- Pasta- Pizza- Salad; a pre-fixed menu which includes a create-your-own option as well as occasional "deal of the day" plates. After ordering you swipe your card, pick up your meal when ready and enjoy. The setting is nicer than you'd expect since you're ordering from a chipotle-style assembly line and so is the quality of the food. This is a genius business model and an awesome restaurant to have in a city center full of young professionals who want affordable quality food in a hurry and on a budget. After you order, your card is scanned with the item you chose, this goes for every station and the bar. You only pay when you are ready to leave that's when you give back your card. The food is delicious, either the pizza or pasta I tried won me over. Loved the pasta carbonara and the roasted garlic tomato pizza. There is also a bar with a small dessert choice. Well, as almost everybody here, I had never heard of this place. But we got the groupon and what a great idea that was. We went friday night, and it was packed! the concept of this place is a little confusing and a lot of trust from your patrons. They give you a card with a sensor for you to scan at the different statioins and order your food. This i guess saves them money as they dont have waiters. The place is beautifly decorated and has a great ambiance. The food: I tried the bruchetas (nothing out of the ordinary) and the caprese salad- delish. the pizza with shrimp and pesto was amazing and everything was fresh and made to order. Wheat pasta with chicken Marsala - ordered and paid for extra chicken breast - ended up receiving 6 small tiny pieces in the whole dish - mixed with a ton of soggy pasta. Clearly this place doesn't know how to make pasta - maybe they should consider a new genre of food to make. And they should try not to rip people off by charging extra but not being true to their words. 'Al dente' is something they aren't familiar with im assuming since all the pasta (no matter type) were way over cooked. Definitely not recommended. When you go in your handed a card that you give to the chef after you make your order. When you leave you give the card to hostess who rings you up. (Free gummy bears too) Your food is delivered to your table "Al Dente". Prices for lunch are between $10 and $15, well worth the price. BTW, the plates are big, you can easily share with a friend.
