Delicious food and friendly service that truly go hand in hand. I had the enchiladas and tamales with the roasted and salted jalapeños.

I have known about this place for awhile- my dad is a long time friend and customer of the owner. He has always ranted and raved about how good it was but I just hadn't had the chance to try it for myself! He finally brought this week and boy had I been missing out! The staff was so friendly and helpful and immediately greeted us upon entering. The owners were also right there as we walked in and greeted us and of course chatted with my dad! And the fish tacos were amazing !! Will definitely be bringing my husband and making this a new regular go to spot! read more

About every 5 years we try Vasquez Deli again. Maybe we were wrong on our opinion. No. The worst burrito I've ever had. No flavor, even the chips have no flavor. I've been coming here since I was kid. Back when they were on their original lot. Best Mexican food in town in my opinion. I used to get the nachos & cheese enchiladas due to my severe bean allergy, but now I just ask for no beans on most of their food and they're absolutely polite about it. There's been many places that have been very rude about not adding beans to my food, but Vasquez never has a problem with it. Half my family still comes here to eat despite living near Folsom just because it's always great. Friendly staff & great location are a plus as well. read more

This place is a mainstay of Vacaville... I just can't figure out why. Years ago I tried it, since friends told me I had to. It was gross... I love mexican food, and there are a ton in the are with much better food, like Marillo's. Even Baldo's is better, imo. Was with family in downtown, looked at reviews and decided to give it another shot. Yeah, disappointing 8 people is not awesome. Across the board the food was either bland and overcooked, and dripping with bland sauce, or smelled rotten. The ground beef on the taco salad and in the tacos smelled horrible. The pork burrito had allright flavor, but they put soo much sauce on it, there was no way to eat it without a straw. The price was outrageous. I won't be coming back. I went to this place because of all the reviews and because it has been around for a long time so I wanted to see what all the hype was. Boy I wish I didnt. The food is terrible. The beans are worse than store bought can beans. The food is so overprice for the quailty of what you get. My boyfriend and I (who is from Mexico) left the food on the platter and had to hit the local McDonalds on the way home...BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! YUCK! Their carne asada is thick, bland and tastes like stew meat. Everything else in the burrito was mushy. Their tortillas are different than the norm - thick and chewy. The burrito was also wrapped incorrectly and eventually fell apart. Their tacos have the same nasty stew meat with the addition of some chopped tomatoes. This is not quality food. And it was very overpriced. I had such high hopes for this place. They do get an extra star for the friendly service and the historical pictures they have all over their walls. read more

Went here the other day for lunch and ordered myself two tacos, xtra hot. When you say extra hot, they really do kick the heat up! Tacos were really good. Today is memorial day, 2016. After spending two hours with my wife and kids at the Vacaville memorial day activities in Andrews park (my kids were satisfied with that), we decided to try out Vazquez Deli. Based on the Yelp reviews, despite their hit-or-miss ratings, I wanted to try to support native Vacaville vendors by spending my money on local businesses. I tried the Chicken burrito and first, the flavor was borderline-bland. The flour tortilla tasted very powdery and had no flavor on its own. My wife got the steak burrito and she wasn't blown away but didn't like a rice-less burrito and no free chips unlike many taquerias. I want to support local businesses, but with an unexceptional experiences like this, it is hard. I would rather go to Chipotle, Taco Bell or Villa Corona honestly. read more

Like other reviewer's, I was surprised that as soon as I sat down my order was ready. However like others have stated my burrito was cold. Vasquez used to be our "go to" local, non-chain Mexican restaurant but their prices have gotten out of control. And they penalize vegetarians. Case in point: A breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon is $8.49. A breakfast burrito without the sausage and bacon is...$8.49. And please hold your "minimum wage increase" argument. For a small shop like Vasquez, the minimum wage increase meant about $4 an hour more in wage costs. We go to Favelas and Villa Corona (Alamo) much more often now. read more

Decided to support a small local business during these crazy Covid times and was greatly disappointed. I very seldom will write a review but this was so bad that I felt a review was in order. We ordered 5 different burritos and every one of them was terrible. They were wet and runny which made the tortilla mush and none of the different kinds of meat or beans had any flavor. Since I've tried this place at their first older location 30 years ago as a young child I've loved their bean and cheese burritos! Terrible. I'm not Mexican, but I do consider myself a Mexican food aficionado as I grew up along the SF Mission and once lived in SoCal. I ordered the carnitas tacos, and felt like throwing it away after the first bite. Being polite to my party was the only thing that prevented me from doing so. I reluctantly finished my food while trying to wash it down with the worst tasting tap water (from the soda machine) that I have ever had. Sorry Vasquez, but I won't be back.
