Really the only decent place in town for cocktails, but the service here leaves so much to be desired. Staff don't greet hello or goodbye, and make us feel unwanted. If we chose to come during happy hour, they scold and make comments if we try to get a second drink or appetizer before happy hour closes. If you sit outside you could wait eons before being attended to. For a place of this caliber, I would expect the staff to be friendly and welcoming, at minimum. But scoffing and ignoring is what we are often greeted by. Additionally, the owner is often seen at the bar with a grimacing scowl checking people up and down. This place has so much potential if they can get over themselves. I've thought many times about posting a review for this location, because I know how damaging it can be to a business. But, this last time Server Mark really pushed us over he edge with his attitude and disregard. Hope they can turn around their approach because Albany deserves a great place for food and drink. read more

Great dining experience. We were a party of seven in the back part of the restaurant as we had one minor. Ordered many tapas to get us started and loved them all. Bacon wrapped shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, brie and more. Loved the seafood avocado salad. We had two types of steak, salmon, pork and chicken dinners all to rave reviews. We ordered many types of martinis and beer and enjoyed them all. We ordered one of each dessert and passed them around. They were all good but that coconut one was off the charts good. Service was on par with what I would expect at this type of restaurant. We were there for three hours having a great time. read more

We happened upon having to eat in Albany and we were so surprised to stumble upon this happening little place. We had a wonderful waiter/bartender named Andrew who paid close attention to us through our entire meal. The food was delicious, without being too complicated. Quesadillas were the best over! I was pleasantly surprised for my first time here. The atmosphere was professional but warm and inviting. It was recommended that I order the lavender Lemon drop martini by a woman who was leaving and I could not have been happier. My server was Mandy and she was very pleasant and engaging! The food and drink was excellent, however, they apparently have no ventilation and the restaurant is filled with smoke. Visible smoke throughout! I suffered for three days after spending only about an hour in this establishment, trying to clear my lungs. If you value your lungs and your health, stay far, far away. I feel very sorry for those workers who have to be there constantly and wonder what the future holds for them being in such an unhealthy environment. Note I had also several months prior as well, and it was also very smoky. I passed it off as a one time ventilation malfunction, but that was not the case, because upon going back recently, it was still a problem. I would be surprised if they have any working ventilation whatsoever. I am sorry to say I cannot return here again. read more

We tried this place many times and seem to have the same experience always. Great drinks but they take awhile. Food is good too. Staff makes u feel uncomfortable especially if u don't have a reservation. Walking in at 445 with tons of open seating even. Making a reservation is a little difficult. I would go there more often but the hubby isn't a fan due to staffing. read more

It was our first experience dining at Vault 244 last night. We have been wanting to check out a lot of new restaurants, one a week, and our friend recommended the Vault. Tried to go here for a late dinner,. Upon arrival we were asked if we had reservations, we didn't, but apparently that didn't matter. We were told that we could be seated, this was just before 9 pm . They really weren't too busy, so we were surprised that it took 6 minutes to get water... And then we were ignored, again. The young woman that seated us was behind the bar with her back to us, and appeared to be figuring out a ticket. When she finally finished what she was doing and we thought that she would acknowledge our presence and the closed menus in front of us... No eye contact, in fact she avoided looking in our direction, and just walked past us. After 20 mins of waiting for service and being ignored ,we gave up and left. read more

THIS is the best restaurant NOT the horrible Sybarus a few blocks down. Food is never disappointing and staff (especially bartender Justin) always go out of their way to be friendly. If I could give no stars I would. We have been planning to go to "The Vault" since 2016 when we first moved to Oregon, but always seemed to choose a day and time they were close. So this year November 12th 2019, we "finally" was able to make a "reservation" at the Vault to celebrate our 47th Wedding Anniversary. We arrived and was set right in the front at a "cramped" table for 2 almost in front of the door. We complained that this area was "very cold" for us especially since we are Senior Citizens. Our waitress Leah, told us this table was set aside for ones that made "reservations" which made no sense as there was another table for 2 across from us that was not filled with incoming guests, the majority of them in 2's. Were they all just walk ins? We were then told by Leah, that we could wait for 2 people sitting at a table for 4 around from us, which was away from the door, to finish eating and she would sit us there, as those 2 individuals were sitting at a table which required "no reservations". We told Leah that was ridiculous. Leah said she would go speak to another employee and brought back Kali, who proceeded to show us the seating configuration on her tablet stating "as we can see it shows the tables set aside for reservations". WE HAD RESERVATIONS!!! So why were we sat at a table by the cold door? Kali stated that the next time we make reservations, say we don't want to be seated by the door?????WOW!!! So needless to say, we paid for the appetizers and drinks we had and left. What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT and frustration on our special day. Fortunately the "Sweet Red" a few doors down, was open and we were able to go there and have an amazing dinner, met the owner and truly enjoyed our evening. So, we arrived last night without a reservation and seated promptly, very nice given it was a Saturday. But after that the experience went down hill quickly. The male waiter could not have been ruder, when we inquired about the wine selection he literally tossed the menu on the table as though it was a bother. Although we did not get "his" name, I will be speaking directly with the GM tomorrow. At the end of our dinner we were finishing up our drinks when another rude (Floor Manager, maybe or Hostess?) slammed both hands on our table and loudly stated "this table is reserved and you will need to leave now." W-O-W, I have never been treated with such disrespect, definitely will NOT be returning !!!! read more

This is my favorite of the nicer restaurants in Albany and Corvallis. The bartenders are fabulous. If you like tequila, try the blood orange gastrita. And they make a mean scratch margarita as well. The food is fresh and consistently good with impeccable service. My only complaint is it can be hard to get a table without a reservation and the bar fills up fast. That's a good problem to have, though. read more

Beautiful! Warm and inviting even with the high vaulted ceilings. Excellent service and food. Had the stuffed mushrooms app and the stuffed salmon which was cooked to perfection and hot off the grill, always fresh never frozen. Elegant right down to the faucet fixtures in the restroom. I was visiting from out of town and am quite pleased my cousin chose this restaurant. It was a very hot day so we sat indoors and I found the ambiance and decor pleasing, and even though we were seated by the door the seating arrangement worked to make those arriving and departing not bothersome or a distraction. The cocktail menu is well sorted and has both standards and newer drinks that are on trend but not trying too hard. We didn't have an appetizer, though the brussel sprouts were intriguing. Even though I am not a vegetarian I ordered the eggplant and it was paired with a delicious risotto and green beans that were cooked but still crisp and fresh. We both had two cocktails, an entree each, and shared a dessert; so the bill being just under $60 was very reasonable considering the amount and quality of food we received. I really enjoyed the Milli Vanilli cocktail, and had the Lavender Lemon drink with the lemon tart for dessert. I didn't taste as much lavender as i anticipated, but that could be because I really enjoy the flavor of lavender. It took a bit long for my first drink to arrive, but that might not be an issue when there isn't outside seating to split the attention of the servers. I already suggested the restaurant to someone else and I'll try and eat there again next time I'm in Albany. read more

The menu was great and had a variety of appealing options. The food tasted great and was definitely worth the price. I subtracted a star because I ordered the steak, which while delicious, was terribly undercooked. I asked for medium well, and was given a medium/medium rare, which was a bit disappointing. The waiter could see I was clearly displeased with my food, but waited until most of us had finished eating before he asked if he could do anything about my steak. I was unable to eat a lot of it, but I am sure if I went back and ordered something different I would be writing a 5 star review! read more

We haven't been there for awhile but we were told the menu has changed. It has gotten smaller but that wasn't the problem. My wife ordered the salmon. It was cooked fine but there couldn't of been more than 4 ounces. Very small serving. I've never seen an order of salmon being that small. We ordered a Bellini drink also but they didn't have the peach purée that it takes to make it. I thought all bars carried that. Very disappointed for the price we paid for the meal. first of all, just so that you know what I think beforehand, this is by far the best restaurant in Albany you can order anything from the menu and it's gonna be great we've come a few times and tried some of the house staples such as the chicken parmesan, the pork two ways, the oriental bowl, the spring linguine with shrimp and we can't choose which one is our favorite, we love them all! we've also brought some of our friends from Portland and they could not believe that in Albany there was a restaurant this good, with substantial portions too they have a full bar, with an impressive cocktail selection (try the Oaxaca cocktail, it's the best version of a margarita you can think of), a large wine list, and their happy hour is affordable a special mention for the service, which has never disappointed us, and for Vincent, who always has a smile on his face and a suggestion as for what to order make a reservation if you're going during peak hours! PS. I haven't tried their steaks yet, but I've heard they're great! read more
