We have two dogs that we have been bringing to VCA for a few years now. They have kept up with their changes in needs/medical conditions and have been thorough and kind. With any of our concerns that have responded with knowledge and care. While one of our pups loves to be the center of attention, the other is timid and shy outside of familiar surroundings. Our bold boy has been provided attention and affection, and our timid girl has been met on her level and examined with calm voices and care. We've seen a variety of docs. No complaints about any of the docs, but the timid pup has responded very well to Dr. Bruin. read more

Money hungry office that will take advantage of the ill-informed. They insisted they sedate and keep my dog for a more thorough exam (another $300) and made it seem necessary. It's not -- they just don't want to deal with a wiggly dog. It's easy money for them for people who are willing to pay it. I've had several simple exams turn into $500 invoices before I said no to the things they were trying to tack on. They may care about animals, but they care about money first and foremost. I am severely upset over the lack of communication that occurred when the rescued kitten first came to them. As I have already explained to two different front desk people when I called.. she was due to have her FRCVP booster. Per the SHELTER, it was due 12/18/24. We got her into an appointment the next day that. And apparently the vet felt that she should not get it yet did not detail that this would reset her doses making us have to restart. My husband left thinking she would still be ok to get the booster later on. Then whoever was doing the inputting of information never put any due date in her vaccine section nor did they provide an aftercare summary of directions to take home. What you see in the picture is what I see. Tell me if that's helpful. I didn't realize she was ever past due until a week ago when I started to get my other animals ready for their vaccine appointments and looked for my kittens' info. I thought I would receive a notice in the mail of her due dates like they do for my other animals but no come to find out no one put what's due for her actually in the system to trigger the notification. When I called the person was apologetic and in disbelief and understood my frustration. She said she would talk to the doctor and see what's going on and never heard from her again a couple of days later and the person was again apologetic and then asked What do I want her to do. All I was offered was an estimate for a treatment plan. First off after this I am not getting VCA care club for my kitten and will be stuck there. Second off, it financially put my husband and me back. We afford our pets care by utilizing what we are given when we get our animals such as gift certificates or vouchers for care. The only offer to rectify the situation is to offer a $300 or more treatment plan? Her first two distemper combo that she now needs before her booster because of that mishap should have been offered. I guess the apology is all you get from that mistake. After my pup's VCA care club that we are trapped in until next year is over, we will go elsewhere. read more

Dr. Richter has seen my dog a few times and she is such a kind and patient person. With being a new dog mom, she answers all my questions and handles my puppy with care. The staff is so incredibly nice and friendly. Even when they are busy, they still take the time to welcome you when you walk through the doors. They handle emergency's VERY WELL. This place is amazing!! My boy Zeus developed cherry eye, and we took him to one vet and they said we were going to have to take him to a specialist and gave us outrageous prices to fix it. Brought him to VCA, they got him in immediately to see him, gave us a treatment plan and set him up for surgery right there. Not to mention the surgery went fantastic, brought him in, called me when he was done and gave the best instructions on aftercare when we went to pick him up!! I will never bring my pets back to the Brighton location. They have been my dogs vet for 7 years. We took him yearly for his check ups and a time or two through our the year for his allergies and shots . 2 a month ago we took him in for a skin infection that he had due to him chewing from allergies and we also noticed one of his sides were larger than the other. We have been trying to get him to lose weight but was unsure why he wasn't. They were not concerned with the abnormal appearance in this larger side gave him some medicine for the skin infection. Fast forward a few weeks he stopped eating for like a 6 days so we took him back put him on another medication to increase his appetite and treat him for nausea and they did blood work this was on a Thursday said the blood results would be in on Monday charged us 646 dollars plus some special food for an upset stomach no change on SAT ( by this time he was peeing in the house and had diarrhea so I took in a stool sample paying another 120 for what ever they were checking that for. Still the results would not be in until Monday even though he was still not eating. On Monday they called and said that all the blood work came back fine mind you he still has not eaten anything and that they would not see him again until the 11th of July mind you that would mean he wouldn't have eaten in 2 plus weeks. We decided to call williamston vet clinic they were able to get him in the next day they had to call VCA 4 times for them to actually find my dog or me in their system saying we never have been there finally they found us and sent over there blood work results to williamston vet where they did an X-ray and ultrasound and an extraction of fluid from my dog and with in 15 to 30 minutes they found out my dog had liver cancer and had cysts all over in his intestines and liver. We elected to put my beloved pet down because they could have given him steroids to try and give him more time with us but they said that it could possibly give us the weekend or maybe a month but highly doubt would be a month before he passed because he was not eating. The blood work that VCA did showed of the chart high levels on his white blood cells and his iron was extremely low but yet VCA said the results were "Normal" I do not recommend VCA to any one Williamston Vet is amazing they were very understanding and straight forward and compassionate. I have been a client for a year and a half. This is the Vet I have always gone to with my AKC registered European Great Dane who is 2 years old tomorrow. I took him into the office two weeks ago because he had a cough. The vet examined him and I quote " his lungs are clear his heart sounds Great he probably just has a scratch in his throat" here is 200 bucks in medicine to give him. Well 10 day's later when he woke me up at 4am unable to breathe on a Sunday morning I called multiple places to try and get him seen including the emergency vet on this POS answering machine. Finally at 2pm I was able to get him seen by a real Vet who immediately took X-rays and informed me that his lungs had fulid in them. She then informed that I needed to go to the Emergency hospital because my puppy is not going to make it until the morning. So after 8 thousands dollars the emergency hospital explaind to me that my poor puppy has Great Dane heart syndrome. The heart has a leaky value which caused his lungs to fill with fulid over time. The emergency vet then asked if I had been to see a vet lately which I had. Then she shakes her head and said how could anyone who is supposedly and trained professional miss this? My advice is stay far away from this place. These people will take your money and let your animals die. read more

Vet clinic has become a money hungry rip off. My dog was there in December for the full $350 work up 4 months ago in the middle of winter including heart worm test. I tried to order over priced heart worm medicine from Chewy and they wouldn't approve it til I paid another $85 for another heart worm test. They ran some bs line of she may have gotten infected between then and now (when we have no mosquitos) and the meds could harm her. After research and talking to other veterinarians is a lie. So I went to the humane society in Howell which is now a full clinic and was treated fairly with no retest and spending a fraction of the money. I will never go back to VcA read more

This is a horrible Clinic they do not care about the animals at all. I've been bringing my puppy in there to have her spayed. I've given her all her shots I've been through it when I was in there. The doctor told me will fix a hernia when we do her spay no problem no extra cost then when I brought her in the tacked on an additional $500 to my bill 300 for that an additional funds for all kinds of things so they wanted $1000 for her spay they are absolutely ridiculous and when I told him I'm not gonna pay for that because they never sent me a treatment plan after asking three times they told me to come and pick the dog up that they refused to do the spay. this is a horrible, horrible Clinic do not ever take your pet there. read more

We switched from another clinic we weren't happy with to come here. We've been going to BAH for about 2-3years now and I'm very happy with the care. All staff have been attentive & friendly and my dog doesn't seem to mind coming! I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a great place to take your fur babies! Only reason I deducted one star was I really strive to only visit twice/year and it's been a challenge with their reminders to get to that goal. read more

I've been using this Animal Hospital for 10 years now. I have 7 purebred dogs and 3 rescue kitties so I am there VERY frequently. I consider them to be my pet's "Primary Care Physician" for routine visits, wellness exams, blood work and minor surgeries, if required, otherwise I see local specialists as required. I am the health chairman for my National Breed Club so I'm picky about my vet. It's mandatory that I have a great working relationship with them. The vets at this practice MORE than fit that requirement, especially Dr. Lee. They are thorough, prompt, caring and consider all aspects of my animals care needs. They value my input on my animals' health issues and are always willing to work with me on any issues that arise. While I wouldn't call their fees cheap, they are not unreasonable or overpriced for this area. Best practice in Brighton by far!!! read more

We have been going for about a year. I do not like when my dog gets Dr Girgis. He has a bad bedside manner. Is not pleasant about my dog and has no patience for a dog that is a little hyper. His suggestion is to drug my dogs instead of putting in a little more effort. Additionally he is short on he calls and makes you feel like you are not training your dog well . We have extensive experience seeing Dr. Lee, and have seen Dr. Lawrence as well. The staff is very pleasant, knows us by name when we go in, & they are so good with our rescue dog. Every time we leave I always feel that they truly care. In general, vet bills can be expensive but I never feel like I'm being ripped off when I pay. The service provided is top quality. An earlier review from 2011 I think can be deemed inapplicable and outdated. The Brighton Animal Hospital is a GREAT place to take your furry ones to be cared for!!! read more

This used to be a great practice 30 years ago when I first started bringing my animals here, but over the past couple years it's become obvious all they care about now is squeezing every nickel out of every visit. While these vets probably used to care about animals once, they sure don't show it anymore. The interaction between vet and pet is mechanical at best, and it's obvious the clock is ticking the whole time. And its tough to understand where these vets are rushing to get, because the waiting room is usually empty. One vet actually follows up by phone and seems to show some concern, but the rest range from disinterested to downright rude. The staff is only slightly better -- you get the impression this is not a fun place to work so don't ask them to go the extra mile on something, like finding a same day euthanasia appointment for an animal in agony. I only wish I recognized how far this practice had declined before the horrible service I received last year in treating two aging ailing dogs. the end result -- unnecessary suffering for them, heartache for me and close to $2000 in misdiagnosis and inaccurate testing. I have been a client for more than 20 years. The wonderful doctors and staff have provided care for five dogs and four cats through that time. Dr. Aubrey is a very knowledgeable, warm and funny person. Dr. Lawrence took care of our cats right up until she retired. Dr. Lee saw our pets from time to time and is a great diagnostic doctor. And, just recently, on the sad occasion of having to part with my cat after 20 years together, Dr. Bruin (whom I had not met until that day), could not have been more professional and compassionate. I LOVE this vet office! Dr Ebling and his staff are always welcoming, accommodating, and understanding of my little scaredy cat. They are very thorough, explain all of the options and current recommendations, and are very patient. My last vet required my cat be sedated with gas every single visit because he was so misbehaved, not once have I had to do this at their office.. they let him come out of his carrier on his own terms, and are very gentle and he actually does well! We actually recently moved and there is a place closer to us, but I really like going here and feel very reassured. They are never pushy, just very informative and caring. We have taken our dog here before to get her nails trimmed and things went fine. When we took her again there was a different woman that took her back, did not ask us to come in the back with our dog, and when she came back our dog ran to us and she proceeded to tell us how terrible our dog was. Described her as "thrashing and growling". In all the time that we have had our dog she has never once growled. She then argued with us on the breed of our dog. We have a chesapeake bay retriever and she argued that theres no way she is and she is definitely a pit bull, we have paperwork proving she is not. Then continued on to tell us not to worry because she won't report us to our landlord for having a pit. Our landlord has seen our dog many times, we are not allowed to have pit bulls in our complex, and she doesn't believe her to be such. We were then told that because of how our dog reacted we were getting charged double what they normally charge. We were never told that under any circumstances the price would change. And if our dog was reacting badly maybe they should have considered having the owner in the back with their dog. They were incredibly unprofessional and Louise, the woman who yelled at us, should not be working at such a place and treating people and animals the way that she did with us. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more
