This was my first time trying this truck, and unfortunately I think it'll be my last. When I got there, one woman was already waiting to order (I'll call her Woman #1). She ended up waiting about 25 minutes just to place her order. I waited around 20 minutes myself, and during that time I watched four people give up and leave the line. Meanwhile, two other women (#2 and #3) who got in line after us ended up waiting around 10 minutes. I ordered the revueltas pupusas with a side of plátanos. After another 15 minutes, food finally started coming out, but I was disappointed to see that Woman #2 got hers first when Woman #1 and I had already waited so long. A few minutes later, Woman #1 got her order. The next order called wasn't mine either. I finally got my food almost 40 minutes after I first got in line. The food would've had to be incredible to make up for the wait, but it wasn't. The salsa was bland, the curtido was just okay, and the pupusas were almost entirely cheese. There were maybe a few bits of beans and no pork that I could find. One pupusa was about one-third solid masa because most of the filling had leaked out and cooked into a hard, crispy layer. I wish I could review the plátanos, but they forgot to include them, which was just the icing on the cake. Overall, I was really disappointed. I love a hard taco dorados style taco and these did not disappoint. The salsa went well with them as well. I would definitely order them again. The shrimp pupusa that I tried was solid. I preferred the tacos but it did make me want to try more of their pupusas. We definitely made a mistake dining here. To start the food is extremely pricey, over $100 on food for four people and only one person got a drink. The wait was really really long, after ordering it took at least 40 minutes for all of us to get our food. The service was fine, nothing to complain about there. We assumed the food would be good since there was a long line and a lot of people waiting for their food but I guess that's explained by how long they take to get food out. There were two orders of sliders, one order of pupusas, and an order of carne asada fries. 3/4 items were wrong. We were given the incorrect drink, one of the sliders had fries that were too salty, the other slider had no salt and was made wrong, the carne asada fries were lacking any salt and were weirdly sweet, the meat was really tough and the cheese reminded me of the Mexican blend shredded cheese, and the pupusas were the wrong ones and weren't like other pupusas in texture. Most of us ended up throwing out the food after just picking at it. The only person to eat a chunk of their food which were the pupusas has been suffering through food poisoning. For those of you who don't know, pupusas are a traditional Salvadoran dish that is made from a thick (and I mean THICK) handmade corn tortilla (masa) that is filled with whatever your heart desires. Those fillings include cheese, different varieties of meat, refried beans or veggies. I love how super cheesy and warm they are at Vchos! That first bite tasted like heaven. Whatever you do, stay far, far away from this truck. Horrible food. Horribly long wait times. Service isn't horrible, but it could be way better. The menu pictures make all the food look so good, unique, tasty, delicious . . . what you get is gross, boring, bland, bad food at outrageous prices. I ordered the loaded steak fries and a chicken pastelito/empanada. Total came to about $17. The empanada, per the menu, has "a savory, crunchy corn pocket loaded with seasoned chicken white meat, diced potatoes and carrots". The dough was not crunchy, barely even crispy. It was also dry and bland. The chicken was not seasoned at all, again, this was also dry and bland. What carrots? And the potatoes were more like mashed potatoes. It was like a giant chicken crouton. No, these fries are not "fully loaded". It was an embarrassment with how little meat there was to all the fries. Mind you, these fries suck. They are soggy, salty, and cut at the worst thickness. At the very least, they got the cheese right. The steak was not "thin", rather it was chunky but it was also not "latin" whatsoever. Tried the truck out while participating in CicLavia. We had the bean and cheese and spinach and cheese. They were sooo good sooooo cheesy. My son had wanted the bean one and he really liked it and so did I but the spinach one was my personal favorite. I'm very hesitant to buy pupusas because too many times they have been all masa but that was not the case here. These are filled and you get filing in every bite. The Vchos Truck was at Grand Park for Dia de Los Muertos Noche de Ofrenda this past weekend, and even though I usually pass on standing in long food truck lines at events, I really wanted a Pupusa. Not too many people I know like Pupusas, but I love them. The wait was long, but it was so worth it! I got one Bean & Cheese Pupusa and one Loroco and Cheese Pupusa. Never heard of Loroco, but the man helping me said it was as kind of like squash, so I gave it a try. Had I known these Pupusas would be so good, I would have gotten three. This truck has been on my list for years and I mean years. I love pupusas and pastelitos. I've been eating them all of my life due to the fact that I'm full blooded Salvadoreño. I've been following this food truck for years but we have never actually crossed paths. Happened to be at El Segundo Brewing Co today (must have beer) and they were there so we had to taste. Pupusas de loroco and the fan fav revuelta, pastelitos and empanada were ordered and I was impressed most by the pastelitos. Should be a Pastelote on the menu because this thing is huge compared to the norms. Deliciously crispy and flavor filled. Every bite was magic. The pupusa de loro con queso was fire and revuelta was equally delicious. My only knock was the small serving of curtido and the tiny addition combo of casamiento. Salvi's love their curtido and that size of rice and beans for 1.50 is upsetting to be perfectly honest. The empanada was devoured by my wife so that's a HUGE 10 star . I came to Costco off of Lakewood in the City of Lakewood & noticed a few food trucks. My bf and I decided to stop by after we finished shopping at Costco; and did. We came to this food truck and ordered 4 pupusas (2 revueltas & 2 beans with cheese). Cost 2 pupusas for $7.50 (in my opinion a bit pricy). Also ordered 3 tacos dorados of potato with shrimp $9.00.
