Communication was excellent, and a few days before the party he reached out directly to coordinate with the venue. That made everything so much easier and gave me one less thing to worry about on the day of the event. Our party was from 9 AM-12 PM, and David arrived before I even got there and was completely set up and ready to go. He brought his own full setup, including tables, plates, a pop-up tent for shade, and a great team to help everything run smoothly. We had around 120 guests, and everyone LOVED the pizza. Our package included two regular pizzas (cheese and pepperoni) and two specialty pizzas, and we chose BBQ chicken and Hawaiian. Everything was fresh and delicious. At one point, David even walked around with a freshly made pepperoni and jalapeño pizza that he made on the spot without us even asking. Our guests loved it! One thing that really stood out to me was how accommodating David was. I mentioned that we had a guest with a dairy allergy, and without hesitation, he made a fresh cheeseless pizza specifically for them. That level of attentiveness really impressed me and meant a lot as the host. He also offers different pricing options for adults and children, along with gluten-free dough, which is really helpful when you're feeding a large group with different dietary needs. Beyond the food, David is just genuinely great to work with. He is responsive, professional, organized, flexible, and clearly takes pride in what he does. He really goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. Our guests were still talking about how good the pizza was after the party! While I understand power has now been restored to roughly 85-90% of the island, many people are still without power, and there are plenty of repairs and rebuilding ahead. Since we couldn't bring ourselves to Kauaʻi, we decided to bring a little aloha home instead! We started with a delicious dinner from L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. Then I called Aloha Spirit Shave Ice, and they were kind enough to make a house call. Nate from Aloha Spirit showed up with his equipment in the back of his pickup, and before long, we--and several of our neighbors--were enjoying some delicious Hawaiian-style shave ice. I ordered a Mushroom ($4), Chicken ($4) and Beef Steak ($5) - each empanada was perfectly portioned, slightly crunchy/golden brown on the outside, but soft and doughy on the inside, with generous fillings. These taste similar to the chalupas you can get at Taco Bell (just better quality). The mushroom was probably my favorite one - with chunks of mushroom in a nice, cheesy blend. Each bite was perfect - and the melted cheese texture also complimented the meatless option. The clerk gave me two containers of the green sauce - which is the perfect compliment to the empanadas - not too spicy, mild but with just enough of a kick to it. Be sure to ask for these instead of jalapenos. The food stand took cash and had a sign that indicated they accept credit cards as well.
