Blanche hanging out waiting for her bloodwork results

I was so impressed with this Emergency Vet! Worlds better than blue pearl for sure. I went in an anxious mess, still in my slippers because I was hardly awake, with my French bulldog that was having weird problems. Dr Casey is the most patient human on earth, I must've asked him 5000 questions and he never made me feel stupid or annoying like how I've been treated before. Everybody there is super warm from the receptionists to the ppl working in the hospital side. I watched as many other animals were treated with care and love (especially the ones who had been admitted and their owners weren't there, nearly cried watching a Dr petting a cat with an e collar). You could tell that everybody here really loves animals. They even have a really cute golden doggy assistant. We were seen right away, I was given an estimate before anything was done, and the exam, bloodwork, and two kinds of medication came to 500 bucks which really is not bad in the world of Emergency Vets. 3 years ago today I dropped 1500 at blue pearl and was treated like an idiot for insisting that my dogs seizures weren't epilepsy but brain tumors (yes it was tumors, RIP Fancy) When you call them you get to speak to a doctor or nurse who will evaluate if you actually need to go in. The nurse I spoke to was awesome and assured me that my dog was not on deaths door but my anxiety from losing my last dog this time three years ago made me go in anyway. I'm so glad I did. Also this place is clean and really beautiful. They have a water and coffee station, the seating is cozy, and they even gave my dog a blanket and a bed to hang out on I can't say enough about this place, thank you so much for taking care of Blanche (and my anxiety). She finally ate like a vacuum cleaner and is feeling much better tonight.

I recommend Veg ER in Williamsburg. The staff were excellent for my Bella Velez. Although I lost my Bella they were kind and compassionate. Veg ER Williamsburg walked me through every step to make my pet and mine experience easy in a difficult time. Veg ER Williamsburg sent a goodbye card for my Bella letting me know they really cared for my Bella. Bella final moments I will always remember and cherish.

‼‼‼Urging you to go to VERG in park slope rather than this horrible place that just wants money‼‼ I went there over a year ago with my dog who ended up passing away after not receiving the right care at this so called hospital. I have attached my story in the photos if you're interested. My purpose of this review is to make sure you don't step foot in this place. All they want is your money and don't care if you pet lives or dies. I encourage you to take your pet to VERG where I took my dog today and they were so WONDERFUL. And it's only a fraction of the price! I knew VER ER was only after money when I talked to the doctors at VERG about some financial concerns and they gave me a lot of options and recommendations where as when I was at VEG ER and had some financial concerns they just sent me home, told me my dog was okay, and they she passed away. They didn't give any recommendations or had any concern with my pet when I said I don't know if I could afford the $8000 surgery. I absolutely dispose this place. Please be cautious and go to VERG!

I cant help but feel truly grateful for VEG. The overnight team and the morning team really were the nicest staff I probably ever encountered from the moment you walk in the door. everyone understands the stress owners are walking in with trying to save their baby. My baby unfortunately did not make it, the odds were against her including with her age. I know VEG did everything they could to keep my girl comfortable and alive for as long as possible and for that im truly grateful because I was able to say goodbye. Rest in Peace Fiona

We brought our pup into VEG as he was having complications with his bowel movement. They return my dog back to us deceased. We only left him with VEG, Williamsburg for a couple of hours. All I can say is VEG is only as good as their marketing scam. They might look professional with all their equipments and nicely furnished office center, their uniforms, anything beyond that they are unprofessional and clueless and just want your $$$$$$. If my dog could speak to me about how he was being mistreated at the facility! I would have sued them for malpractice! They are lucky now, but I am sure KARMA will deal with all those responsible for the passing of my poor pup.

Milo was scared but they did great calming him down.

What a warm and welcoming staff. My dog Milo was sick and coughing, and the doctors did a wonderful job informing me and calming any nerves I had. They were gentle with him and took any charges off before doing anything that weren't in my budget. 10/10

5 stars for Nick and Giles! They are expensive but I had an overall positive experience here the other night after my dog swallowed a steak bone. Any vet emergency is the worst possible situation and I hope you never have to end up here, but the vet techs who were working the late night shift this weekend were so very kind and made me feel as good as possible under the circumstances. I really just wanted to write this review to mention Nick and Giles - they were both so, so kind and truly made me and Milo feel safe during a very stressful/terrible situation. Attached shows the charges for this visit. We were home within a few hours and my boy is on the mend. Thank you.

I love this place is an understatement. When I say they care for your babies as much as you do! They tried their best to save our cat Leon. Who got a steroid shot from Williamsburg Animal Client and shortly after was foaming from the mouth and then collapsed. They tried to save him but couldn't but we will forever be grateful to all the staff with how respectful of our Leon they were. Also on how compassionate they were with us as well. I recommend this place 100 percent!

    Best doctors & nurses!

On Sunday evening, I took my senior Chihuahua to VEG Chelsea. A vet tech quickly took her weight and temperature but did not ask why we were there or take any other history. We were placed in a room in the back with a window to the main area where I could see lots of staff members. After 45 minutes of waiting with no updates or anyone checking on my dog, I went out to ask if they might have an estimate of when the vet might see us and was told a few minutes, but this proved not to be true and I watched that vet leave for the evening. Around the two-hour mark, I heard a staff member tell the new vet that everyone was triaged. I was surprised because no one had asked what brought us to the ER. I spoke with a staff member in the hallway and explained that we'd been waiting for two hours with no one taking my dog's history or checking on her, and I told her that I was disappointed by the lack of communication. Before we could discuss it, another staff member interrupted and told me that my dog's temperature and weight were the triage and she asked what I expected since one veterinarian had just left and another had just arrived. I understand that ERs have to prioritize certain patients, and I was not upset about waiting. However, I felt dismissed when I waited for two hours with no one providing us updates or checking on my dog. A little bit of communication would have gone a long way. I found the staff member's response to my concerns very condescending, and so my dog and I left. For those reasons, I would not recommend this ER and next time will visit one of the many others available in our city.

He had recently stopped taking his heart medication after his cardiologist determined that his heart condition had resolved. Once again, the staff quickly took him back and stabilized him. Then began the wait. BluePearl appears to triage patients based on urgency, and they were not noticeably but apparently busy that day. As a result, Ruben spent much of the day in an oxygenated cage, from about 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thankfully, I did not have to stay there the entire time. In the end, the diagnosis was somewhat different from what we initially expected. Ruben does not have early congestive heart failure, as was suggested by the remote radiologist's preliminary interpretation. However, the team did take seriously the possibility of asthma, which had been raised by my cardiologist over the phone. I'm reducing my rating by half a star, bringing it to 4.5 stars. Overall, I believe Ruben received excellent care. The veterinarian listened carefully to my concerns about sedation and treated him thoughtfully. My main concern is staffing. It appeared that there was only one very busy veterinarian on duty, and she was unable to interpret the X-rays herself. As a result, several hours passed before the imaging could be completed, and then additional time was needed to obtain a reading from an off-site radiologist. I understand that Ruben was stable and that other patients may have required more urgent attention. Still, from my perspective, increased staffing might have allowed him to be evaluated sooner. Ruben is a good patient, but he does not enjoy veterinary visits, and spending nearly the entire day there was stressful for both of us. That said, BluePearl remains my first choice for emergency veterinary care. The staff are compassionate, and I continue to trust them when Ruben needs urgent treatment.

St. James, my 9-year-old chihuahua, died within three hours of a blood transfusion at BluePearl…read more When he was discharged to me, he was acting strangely and struggling to breathe. I showed the nurse right away and was told it could be an initial transfusion reaction. I was terrified and pleaded for help, but was told all tests had been completed and he was still sent home. The doctor never spoke to me. Over the next three hours, I watched him deteriorate -- breathing heavily, confused, and clearly in distress -- while I was completely powerless to help him in his time of need. No words can capture how painful and traumatic it was to witness. St. James lived such a beautiful, joyful life, and he deserved comfort and dignity at the end -- not this. We are left completely heartbroken and still without answers as to what caused his death.

He had already been treated for Tritrichomonas by his regular veterinarian, and the specialist recommended repeating the test to confirm that the infection had actually been cleared. I was told that once the results were available, we would discuss the next steps and develop a treatment plan. I brought in the requested stool sample the very next day, August 14th. Today is August 25th, and I still have no results, no treatment plan, and no communication from the internal medicine department whatsoever. I have called and left four messages, sent an email, and specifically requested that an office manager call me back. Despite all of these attempts, nobody has returned my call or contacted me to discuss my cat's care. I paid approximately $350 for the internal medicine consultation, and at this point the entire visit feels pointless because there has been absolutely no follow-up or continuity of care. I understand that veterinary hospitals can be busy, but 11 days with no response after submitting a requested diagnostic sample--and after repeatedly contacting the hospital--is unacceptable, especially when this involves an ongoing medical problem and a treatment plan that was supposed to be discussed based on the test results. The biggest issue here is not even the delay itself; it is the complete lack of communication and accountability. I should not have to repeatedly chase a specialty veterinary hospital just to get an update on my pet's test results and treatment. I expected much better from a specialty hospital and would not recommend VERG based on this experience.

Coco had not eaten anything all day and was secluded and listless. It was Sunday night, her regular vet was closed. My inclination was to wait another 12 hours but I called Blue Pearl and the receptionist strongly encouraged me to bring her in immediately. Coco was taken to an examination room without me (big mistake). Shortly thereafter the on duty vet informed me that Coco had a "slipped disk" and that he had given her methadone without my consent! $603.46 please! Coco was a goggle eyed mess for 24 hours. Coco does not have a slipped disk. She presents with no gait, no hind quarter weakness, she climbs, she jumps, chases the laser up the wall and does not respond to probing her spine from neck to tail. Skeptical, I held back the take home pain meds and called Blue Pearl the next morning for advice. 24 hours later, I got total indifference. "It's your cat, do what you want". Would you like a $5,000 MRI? Coco is fine. Coco was misdiagnosed (and that's being kind) and inappropriately dosed with methadone (a controlled substance) with no informed consent. When I asked Blue Pearl for Coco's treatment record including the exact time methadone was given (mandated by NYS law) I was told they did not record that as required. Stay away from Blue Pearl who plays it fast, loose and expensive. Your pet's interests are not in the forefront of Blue Pearl's mind. It's your wallet. Coco was abused and I was hosed.
