Well that excitement ended real quickly when my $10 "chicken" sandwich arrived and it was literally soy curls on a bun. I mean you can see how unappetizing it looks a by the picture but it was bland as well. Took one bite that's all I could stand. Pretty good food, but damn, was it a long wait. It took over 45 min from ordering to get our food out. And people who ordered after us got theirs before. So you can imagine, by the time we got our food, we were HANGRY lol. Very filling portion size on the plates. The texture of the barbecue chicken was good, but I felt the barbecue sauce was a little too heavy and lacking in spice. The Mac n cheese was one of the better vegan macs I've had! I'm not vegan, but I don't eat beef/chicken/pork so I'm damn near. So when I get a craving for a burger, there's not too many places to choose from. My roommate has said good things about this place so I decided to try them out for lunch. I got the vegelicious burger and home fries. The burger was delicious, my only complaint is too much sauce. The quality of everything was top notch, from the bread to the lettuce. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes. WOW. I ordered through Uber eats for delivery and truly enjoyed every bite of both meals. The coconut BLT was loaded with coconut bacon, the bread was tasty and I added ranch to the sandwich which was amazing. The hot chik soul plate was off the hook. I definitely recommend trying this entree. It came with greens, mac and cheese, and potatoes. I thought the potatoes were just going to be a waste of stomach space.... I was wrong! Unlike other restaurants that recycle the same ingredients to produce 'different' dishes, each of these plates had an original look, feel, and taste. The spices used in the Rubin melded together to take the taste to the next level. And the home-made seitan was delicious. The tomato sauce in the lasagna was so tasty I could have taken a jar of it home and eaten it as a hearty soup. I appreciated the abundant spinach and the texture-perfect 'cheese.' Not only did my box seem half full but everything was dry and pretty flavorless. No ranch or butter. I don't like to leave bad reviews but this was a huge disappointment for me. Amazing food!!!!!! We had just come to Tennessee from Florida and were looking for veggie options-- this is the place. Food is extremely good and the pictures speak for themselves. Really good substitutes/ "replications" for commonly meat-based options. I haven't had something that resembles the consistency/taste of beef so well cooked at any other place- I loved it. I always love trying new restaurants, especially vegan ones because their menu is more unique than the typical fare. We came on New Year's Day and it wasn't busy at all. There isn't much indoor seating but there is a tent outside with picnic tables to sit at if the weather isn't too cold or windy. I had the soul food plate which came with a little bit of everything. The BBQ chicken was super good! I couldn't tell a difference from normal chicken. The vegan mac and cheese is probably the best I've ever had...full of flavor and just the right texture. The yams were very sweet, a little too sweet for me and the collard greens were a bit bland but overall I was satisfied with my choice. My friend tried the lasagna which was alright but nothing special. The plates were about $13 each which I thought was a bit expensive but it did come with a decent portion. I had the loveliest day working remotely from Vegelicious. I'd just come into town on an early flight from FL and was exhausted and hungry. The kind staff took me in and made me feel like family. Between friendly banter, fast service, reliably delicious vegan Southern soul cooking, and a GREAT soundtrack, I closed them out--but could have stayed even longer (not that they even asked me to leave as they began closing up shop!). At a certain point, another dine-in customer asked if they had coffee, which I'd also been wondering but didn't recall seeing on the menu. The awesome & efficient server, a young woman whose name I did not get, offered to make them a fresh pot. The man declined, thanking her, but after a long day on little sleep, my ears had perked up at the mention of caffeine, so I jumped on that offer. Not only did she brew me fresh, delicious coffee (I was told it was local), she didn't even charge me for it. At the end of my visit, I had an inspiring chat with one of the men--I believe his name was Kevin. I told him about my aspirations to make it to Nashville as a resident and he shared his own journey around the same age, encouraging me to do so while remarking that he'd made a great decision and loves his city. That kind of admiration is contagious, y'all. Good customer service beats all. This my comfort food spot whenever I'm in Nashville. Thank you, I'll be back! read more

I was very disappointed. I have been eating vegetarian/vegan food for a while. This place was referred to us. The location was Fisk location. The mac and cheese was horrible, no taste, to strange taste. The mock chicken was not good and it was hard. The greens could have used a little more seasoning. It took me a long while to want to write a review for this place. I always want to support black businesses, but this one is not it. I think everyone in the restaurant was turned off by the arrogant attitude of the female chef with colored contacts. She automatically tells you that everything is good and she knows that her food is good. It may be to her but you don't tell customers how they should feel about your cooking. She may not realize how abrasive her demeanor and commentary are to customers or maybe she doesn't care. Several of us new patrons lingered outside after our meals to discuss how poor our treatment and service was at this place. I was served dirty dishes and when I asked to have it changed out, the chef said, "oh was it filthy"? She was happy to change my water and other dishes out but I was flabbergasted that she saw that my dishes were dirty and still served them to me! I didn't want to make a scene so I just ate what I could and left. Don't get me started on how tacky it was that she was telling people that she prefers cash tips and that they should leave them instead of using a card. It was my first time trying a vegan place and that experience left a sour taste for me. I liked the blueberry pancakes. This was such a gem in the city of Nashville. While visiting from Washington, we were looking for a restaurant we could sit down and eat and I am so happy we came to vege-licious. It was conveniently located in midtown and the only thing better than the food was the hospitality and customer service. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find what looked like a home converted to comfort eatery. They have a large covered tent with picnic tables and some open grass area as well. Ordering was easy and they maintained social distancing very efficiently. We had the bbq and hot chicken platters and it was probably the best Mac n cheese I have had (vegan and non vegan). The yams were a superstar and even my 6 month old couldn't get enough of them. Now the real stars of this place are the owners. We meet Keith and his wife as they came out various times to see how our meal was and even brought out our desserts and let us pay from our table. They were extremely kind and welcoming and made our visit so noteworthy. I've been wanting to check this place out for quite some time and finally had a chance when I was in the area. My first impression was that this place is disjointed. From parking, to building layout and a dining area that is far too small and loud, it was awkward from start to finish. There are several picnic tables for outdoor seating, but the inside only seats 13 people, with a total of 5 tables. It is very small. Had I seen the health score prior to ordering I likely would have skipped this spot all together. Im picky about those scores. I ordered the soul food plate after reading numerous good things about it on here. The only things I enjoyed on the plate were the chicken and sweet potatoes. The Mac and cheese looked gritty and tasted funky. The greens had no flavor. The roll was just a cold roll. There were ticks and bugs crawling around me while I ate. I photographed one crawling on the chair next to me. That grossed me out. At that point I was ready to leave but knew my food would be arriving soon and against my better judgement, I stayed. Not a soul asked how my food was once it was served, and customer service was definitely lacking all the way across the board. My meal that was mostly wasted was 20.00. I got the soul food plate you see, and some tea. It was also served on a paper plate and with plastic silverware which is absurd considering their prices. I wasn't expecting to eat off of paper. Save your time and money. There are plenty of good vegetarian places to eat in and around Nashville. As for my experience, I can check this off my list of vegetarian eateries to scope out. For starters, this review is long overdue! My dad and I visited this little mom & pop restaurant in August 2020 while we were in town for a softball tournament. We're from Idaho and I'm vegan, so naturally I scouted out the best vegan restaurants. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the husband of the awesome duo that created this business. We ordered inside the quaint little restaurant front and then took a seat outside. He also came out and chatted with us for a bit until our food was ready-- such kind and wholesome people they are. Everything on the menu is made in-house-- they even make their own hot sauce and fresh juices. My dad, who is not vegan, was enthralled by the flavors in his lasagna! He told me that if all vegan food was this delicious, he'd never eat meat again. Needless to say, my Soul Food Plate was amazing, along with the pineapple cheesecake. I was looking for vegan breakfast while on a work trip and stumbled into this little gem! Wow great food, friendly vibe and in a kind of hideaway spot but near the gulch but away from crowds. It's small inside with 3 tables and more tables under a tent outside. The food was very tasty, mango ice tea is delicious, and the scrambled tofu was really incredible. I had peach pancakes which reminded me of a peach cobbler and it's got warm peach sauce that was very flavorful. I also got the sausage which was yummy too! I'll be back next time I'm in Nashville. So many solid vegan comfort food options that we were more than pleased to find and we wish we could've eaten every item on the menu. We met one of the owners and she was very nice and told her her story of you going vegan over 20 years ago. Very important to us to support black owned businesses in addition to our other causes and this place makes it very easy when the food is this delicious.
