I just love Veggie Grill. As a mom of two toddlers who don't eat, this place is fantastic. They used organic produce as best as they can. Their ketchup is organic as well. Their kids menu is what I always go for because it's $6 and you get plenty of food including a drink. It's so worth it. I came here to get some lunch when we went to Legoland and I came here again by myself with my babies. The service here is much better than the UTC location too. I've been here twice and enjoy their food. they can get busy but the line moves fast. You order at the register and they bring your meal. Everything has faux meat so vegetarians can order any item. I'm not a huge fan of fake meat because it still tastes like the real thing to me, but they add enough flavor to their items to make them unique. The panko fried cauliflower is the best! SO happy to have a location closer than Irvine, or even La Jolla when I'm visiting San Diego. The staff was more than accommodating when I brought my mom here. My mom who cannot have garlic, dairy, onion, or gluten. Pretty slim pickings when it comes to eating out. But they were very patient comparing each of their allergen menus to find something that was OK to eat across each of these. She ended up getting some french fries and a salad, but she really enjoyed all of the above. And now she feels confident that she can eat here without a problem and come back on her own! I don't have quite so many restrictions when it comes to eating, so I can enjoy pretty much anything on the menu. Lucky me! It's all delicious. My boyfriend is obsessed with the Buffalo Bomber (it is pretty delicious) and the mac n cheese. I really liked the "fish" tacos, and the Harvest Bowl. I'm going to start off by saying I was very skeptical about getting their "chicken" because in the past I haven't had good experience with imitation meat. But, I decided to give it another go and I was surprisingly pleased! I ordered the Buffalo Bomber with a side of Fries and it was delicious. I couldn't really tell that I wasn't eating real meat but I'm not sure if it's because of the sauces or because chicken doesn't really have a specific taste to it. We had multiple people come up to us and ask us if everything was going all right. I only knocked off a star because it is pretty pricey for lunch. For someone that is not a vegetarian, I wasn't as impressed. Even though I am NOT, I do enjoy vegetables very much. I ordered the Bombay Bowl. It was very delicious but I felt it lacked the hardy vegetables I was seeking. It had plenty of kale but not the sauteed vegetables I was looking for. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich. It's definitely dry, but it was tasty. We spent $37 dollars for (2) people. That's definitely more than I want to spend at a casual eatery. I'm sure it has to do with the organic prices. My sister is a long time GF, Paleo, grass fed, and can I see a photo of the animal on its farm and looking happy, person. No problem. Veggie Grill has lots of great options for me. She goes next door. Dates? Same deal. If they're dedicated omnivores, you get to find that out and they have options. If they're willing to be adventurous and keep the table meat-free, they can head into VG with you. You'll even learn if they're a healthy enough eater that grass fed matters to them since it's bound to come up whether they order at VG or BL! Perfect! I went here the other night with my two kids and ordered to go two "street corn" for my daughter thinking it was just going to be a short detour on the way home and wouldn't take long. I was wrong. I specifically asked when I ordered for them to put no parsley/cilantro on the two corns. After waiting over 10 minutes for my food it finally came and I went to my car got both kids strapped in their car seats and proceeded to open the corn to find out they put parsley all over it. So now my daughters complaining because she didnt want it with parsley and asked for it without. How frustrating. Now I have to unstrap her from her carseat again, pull the infant back out of his car seat and haul him and her back inside so I can have them fix the order, only to find out that the lady never rang it up as "no cilantro/no parsley" (i wasn't sure which one they used). I wait another ten minutes only to find out they had JUST THEN finally put my two corns on the grill. Apparently the several orders before mine got taken care of before they even bothered with mine. At this point it would be another several minutes just to get the corn and ive already spent about 20 here so I ask for a refund. As if i hadn't waited enough before even ringing me up for a refund the lady goes and spends another couple minutes chit chatting to the cook while also telling him to cancel the two corns he just put on the grill. My kids are really annoyed at this point and my infants screaming for me to feed him and I go back to my car with them, spend another 5 minutes getting them all strapped in and ready to go and drive home with two hungry screaming children in the back. Ideally I could of received the correct order and been on my way before my infant got hungry and my other child would have been happily munching on some corn. Instead I probably spent about 30 minutes in total for some corn I never even had. Will never go here again. read more

While the good flavors were good the temperature was luke warm. It would've been so much better if it had been hot! My son ordered the southern fried chicken plate and it was barely warm. I had been a couple years ago in a veggie grill but it wasn't so great, have to say that we had a much better experience this time. We had salads and burgers,made with beyond meat steak. It was all tasty, there was proper cutlery (we hate plastic cutlery and waste) and service was nice.i don't like so much ordering at the counter, and have to get the tip paid upfront. I wanted to give this place a good rating. I was excited to go here and check it out. The portions were really small. We got Buffalo Wings and fries. Both were labeled on the menu as serves 2 but I would say both together serves 1. They both tasted really good though. We also got Mac and cheese and it was a tiny portion and it was kind of boring and tasteless. We also got avocado toast but we had to go back and remind them of that. Great location (finally) a vegetarian place farther up in North County and about a mile from home (even better). After ordering Kale Savory Caesar salad and Harvest Bowl we sat outside to share our thoughts on the great movie we just saw, when one of staff comes to our table and says, "Today is Surprise Day, and you get to sample some of our other plates." (I had a feeling they just couldn't find the table that originally ordered and gave it to us while we waited--food overload) but we ended up with Quinoa Power Salad and Bombay Bowl and wow, all was well prepared, flavorful and even with the blackened chicken and sausage (food has no meat, dairy, eggs, cholesterol, animal fat or trans fat) certainly tasted just like chicken. The staff seemed to have weathered the massive opening day (Wed 22nd Jan 2014) and were as cheerful and pleasant addition to the service and decorum. It's pretty good. I've had the appetizer mushrooms (forgot what it was called) and also the portabello mushroom plate with quinoa. They were both good but not outstanding or extraordinary. They are definitely, though, much more healthy than their counterparts such as Red Robin. I also like that everything on the menu is vegetarian. I think my favorite dish is the spicy chicken strips (had part of someone else's meal!:)) I would give this a 4 star but the other items I had were only a 3 star.
