The Seoul bowl with beef is simply a salad with some mixed grains, and a boca burger patty sliced on top. Uninspired and expensive. And with every other bite I got a few totally uncooked grains of rice- it was mixed in with the quasi-overcooked grains. I ordered to go, so I didn't know 'til I was home. I much prefer (deserve) the quality and flavors of the veg/vegan choices at Whole Foods. In reading other reviews, this place is inconsistent at best. We used to frequent the Long Beach restaurant when we lived in Huntington Beach. We were happy to see this location when we relocated to SD. Prices are still absurdly high, but the food is good. Portions are a bit smaller at this location, which is a bummer. read more

Everyone is really friendly and the food is delicious! It's a lot like Native Foods in Encinitas. The food is a bit pricey, but I love it. It's weird being vegetarian and going somewhere with so many options. I'm use to having only one menu item to choose from. I would go here everyday if I could, I had the crispy Santa chicken with onion rings and ranch (it was all vegan!) there isn't anything on the menu I have come across that I do not love. This was my first time at veggie grill. I just got home from picking up a to go order and was upset that my crispy grains and greens bowl was missing onions, almonds and carrots. Everything else about the bowl was amazing! My husband got the b-wing salad and it was delicious. I guess I should have checked my order before leaving. Lesson learned! I was very surprised and happy with this place. My wife is vegetarian and while we were visiting Legoland decided to check this place out. We started with the beyond meat tacos and were thoroughly impressed. Even though the food got a little soggy by the time we ate it, it was still good. Also tried the taco salad, the bulgogi beef bowl which were both very good. We also tried the fish and and another bowl which were good without being great. However we went to this place like 4 times in 3 days and overall were very happy with the quality of food. I was given an invitation to their pre openning to sample out the place. At first I was pretty excited to be given an opportunity to write a kick a$$ review but then i was bummed out. I came into the place with jeans and tee shirt and everyone there had shirts and ties. Let start this review backwards from when I received my order to when I walked in because I like going from great to bad. I would give the food , server and the lady who gave me my food 4 and a 2 to the greeter, the young lady who was there to explain the menu and the cashier. I ordered the chicken sandwich with potato fries and got the iced tea and my total was $13.99 but it was free so I can't complain right, but no one deserves to feel ingnored or pushed aside like I felt coming into the this place. To be honest i wanted to walk out after I ordered my food but I had I told myslef I had to write a full review. I will try it one more time maybe tomorrow or friday and write another review. A recently converted vegan, I find it so hard to each out... however, I was in the area and happened to find this place up in Carlsbad. WOW, probably one of the best decisions ever. I wish I was more hungry, but the food smelled awesome and their organic natural teas were probably the best I've ever had. I got a side order of their fries, and split two of their pastries. Good place to go for a healthy meal. I had the Bombay bowl, really yummy coconut curry sauce with fresh crunchy veggies on a bed of quinoa instead of the traditional rice, nice for a little extra protein. Ok I am by no means a vegetarian or vegan I love my meats and dairy. That being said I am not opposed to trying new foods. In the past I have had vegan foods and was not happy with their Flavors or them calling Tofu chicken and steak when it is obviously not. I am now trying out the Veggie Grill. I ordered the Chicken Santa Fe sandwich (not real chicken) and I am surprisingly happy with its flavor... No it does not taste like chicken. So I'm gonna have to say I will go to a Veggie Grill again in the future. The food at veggie grill is always delicious, my only gripe is that when we order take away there has been multiple instances where some item in the order is left out. Most recently it was the dressing for a salad. It was a little disheartening. We are a little too trusting in this area and enough time had passed to where we forgot how necessary it was to check everything. This place grew on me! My family goes here every week -- we crave it! Between this place and Ramen Factory, we are very happy to dine out in Carlsbad! At first I didn't love the Mac n cheese because it is different but somehow it's become my favorite Mac n cheese ever. And I discovered the crispy chickin plate and the chill out wings, both of which I love. Our kids love the grilled cheese sandwiches and of course the fries and Oreo cookies. Our visit was prompted by the hype of the beyond burger. The 'new' exciting meat alternative for vegetarians and vegans. It was a thunderous disappointment. High priced? Yes, to be expected, but also to be expected, worthiness. Sorry, no gold ring, not even a copper one. The burger was served IMO in imitation of a hamburger of old. On a plain bun with head lettuce. With fries and a ramekin of catsup. 1st mistake: The patty was thin, too thin and so any pluses the fake meat had were lost in a the paltry size so instead of plump and juicy, it was slim and mediocre at best, leaving the condiments and garnish to pick up the slack The head lettuce was a mistake. The burger joints of old are gone, for a reason, and a high price does not warrant plain. tasteless head lettuce, the most tasteless of all especially when it includes the hard rib. How about green or red leaf lettuce at least? The bun was uneventful as well. The fries were average, just that. Worse was the catsup. If you want to please the burger public, use Heinz or something real close. That is and has been the restaurant leader. And catsup for many is a necessary and expected add-on to the burger with an expected added taste. Something different compromises the entire dish, burger and fries. I will easily pay the prices for a good meatless burger, but this? Ouffff, a promise unfulfilled. Either Veggie Grill gets its act together with a nice juicy patty with body and thus more flavor, or .. well? read more

Also, once we got our meal they said the order exactly how we ordered it, but when we got it, they had put all the toppings we had asked them to take off on. I usually wouldn't mind, however, I have to say this is by far the worst customer service I've had in a while. I hope they can fix this problem soon. read more

Amazing! The food was awesome and the staff is very nice. But, I was most pleased with my service from Coral. She is bright and happy. She explained and sampled anything I desired so I would feel at ease. I recently started eating vegetarian, and food has been so anti climactic lately.
