I found this place on Yelp looking for "best tacos near me" because I was shopping in the neighborhood and it's absolutely amazing. Boyle Heights old school cool. The quality of the food is outstanding. One of the specials of the day were chile rellenos and they came as a plate with the freshest, avocado and tomato salad, beans and rice, freshly made tortillas and of course, some delicious and just made chile rellenos. There's a very nice woman who is all smiles that I think cooks most of the dishes. They also make fantastic milkshakes. The man that made my milkshake told me to drink some of it so he could pour the rest of it out into my cup from the blender, which was very thoughtful of him. One of the servers was so kind and he called me over to open up a large metal tray in the back left corner, which was full of the freshest and most incredible salsas and also there was a plate of freshly grilled chiles next to it. The food here is great and now I understand all the good reviews. The inside is basic but cute with some vintage murals on the walls and bright orange formica tables (I miss formica!) with comfortable seating. There's usually metered parking right in front on Cesar E Chavez Ave. or you can find metered parking on the side street. They accept credit cards and Apple Pay, too.

Green juice/Jugo verde & small escamocha/fruit+ salad to share!

When in Boyle Heights this wonderful family owned business is your fresh Jugo & Escamocha fix. Sun was shining and I was out gathering breakfast. First stop Velardes. A Buenos días greeting and my order for a large Jugo Verde/Geen Juice and small Escamocha. Escamocha is best described as a fruit salad with a scoop of cottage cheese, sprinkled with coconut flakes, granola and drizzled with honey. It can be easily customized- I have them hold the mango and papaya. Fresh & delicious greens and veggies in hand, walked over to- the Panaderia of course.

My first time here and apparently you're supposed to sit down and then they come take your order if you're there to eat. We walked up to the back to place our order haha. We got their chicken tacos and mango fruit fresh drink. So good! I love how their tortilla is made fresh too. Will definitely be back

Impressed with how quick they got their order system up for customers and started delivery. I was ordering from various places prior to finding Nature's Produce and I had major issues with some other places that do grocery boxes like Tender Greens (how many times can you get my order wrong!?). Anyway, I was a bit hesitant to buy produce in bulk, but after reviewing Nature's Produce's menu online, I realized it was no different than just a Costco trip, where I get bulk items for food we consume regularly-- frozen chicken, eggs, fruits, cheese, etc... I did get a ton of veggies and was able to drop them off to my mother-in-law and share yeast and flour with friends who had been searching for those items for awhile! Also--- great prices!! Please check this out if you're looking for grocery delivery. I haven't done pickup-- only delivery-- they came the afternoon of the day they said they'd deliver and they called me when the driver was outside since we live in a building with a code. Smooth and easy experience.

I was on the 5 freeway northbound coming from Bell Flower, and I decided to try my luck in East Los Angeles. So I exited on 4th Street and went right. I was driving slowly looking for the rainbow colored umbrella, and it wasn't long until I found one in on the south side of 4th Street and West of Soto by Super A Foods. I parked in the lot conveniently located to this fruit cart, and exited with determination. This woman didn't speak any English, so I was forced to show off my mad Spanish skills. Uno (one) mixed fruits por favor (please). I asked for a chiquita (small) size, which was huge! It was $4. She was a professional at cutting up the fruits. She sprinkled some chili power, salt, and squeezed lime juice from freshly cut limes. It is absolutely delicious. It gives fruits a whole new meaning in this seasoning. You should take your own fork, napkins and a plastic bag. The fork they give at these fruit carts are often very flimsy. She didn't have napkins, and you definitely need a plastic bag to prevent a leak.

I accidentally side quested into here and it was a pleasant experience. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies from local sources, small indie businesses and artisans and lots of people walking their dogs. I went during the mid morning so it was getting hot, but the farmer's market was in the shade of some of the taller buildings which is nice. I got some delicious poke and ceviche that was packed with some ice and with all of the utensils. Vendor was super friendly and made some small talk regarding the convention and some anime series. Very rare to have small talk with a non normie, so that was refreshing! Got to enjoy all of our food after I got to the con and it wasn't decimated by security. Big plus! Also before I left, I got some mango sorbet with tajin to the side and it was a huge portion for $5 and very refreshing in the growing July heat. Next AX, if I park near this farmer's market, I'll do another walkthrough for sure!

There's several vendors out there, but again, LA is definitely lacking the produce that Bakersfield Farmer's Market has. It's nice to see all the food vendors since I love checking out all the delicious stands, but the point of coming to the Farmer's Market for me is the produce and fresh baked bread or organic items made by local vendors. This Farmer's Market is not as busy as the other one I recently visited; however, it is a lot smaller and literally on the street so maybe that's why it's not as busy. There's so many food options that it seems more like a food event then a Farmer's Market. I really do love that this one stays open til later since a lot of Farmer's Market are only open in the morning. It's good for the people who wake up late or don't like going out early mornings. Parking is pretty crazy, so good luck. If you live in the area then you're pretty lucky just to walk here. This Farmer's Market is pretty close to tons of businesses so it's accessible to a lot of people, it's just the parking that's crazy. I'm not a local, so if you locals have tips for us then that would be great! I definitely would love to come back to see if they offer other stuff. I happened to come late which is probably why there weren't any produce.
