Today, I hired Velasco Garage Door Company for (6) reasons. One reason was that he called me back within 5 minutes. He was very kind and professional over the phone and he patiently answered my questions about my concerns about my Garage doors. Being a Woman and not knowing anything about Garage doors I needed someone with patience. Secondly, I liked the idea that it was a Family owned business. I called a couple of big Garage Door Companies and they were in a rush and not personable. I felt that they were too busy to talk to me about my concerns. Thirdly, I was happy that Joel said that he would be at my house at 4:00 pm and he arrived on time. This was very important to me because I am a single professional Woman and my time is valuable. A Fourth factor was when The Owner Joel came to my house he checked my Garage doors and noticed that my previous Garage Door Company put the cheapest wheels on my Garage doors. He said that is why my garage doors are very loud when the garage doors open or closes. After he replaced the wheels the garage doors were extremely quiet. I was pleased that he fixed that problem because another garage door company said that I needed new garage doors. I was appreciative that Joel was honest and didn't try to sell me garage doors. A fifth reason that I am really happy with this Company was that I talked to another garage door company and they told me that I needed a new garage door keypad because I wanted a new garage door opener. They were going to charge me a $150.00 for a new keypad. Joel said that I could keep my garage door keypad he just reset the keypad and changed my code. A sixth reason is that he explained to me the different types of garage door openers and prices. I picked the Top of the line Lift master with a camera. Had my garage door close on a piece of lumber that was stored on the side of my garage, that must've tilted into the track. When I went to close the garage the door got all out of alignment and wouldn't close at all. This was happened @ 7:30 pm on a Friday night. I searched Yelp and found Velasco's and I was glad I did. I spoke to Joel, the owner who was in the area and assured me it wasn't too late to show up on an emergency call. My boyfriend was about ti give it to him, then said, my girlfriend told me it was $250. He accepted the $250 since my boyfriend told him that. 2: Did not fix the bent rail to prevent it from breaking the other wheels and falling again. 3: Knew that multiple wheels were broken, but took someone else's old wheels and in a little less than a month later, the wheels broke again and the garage door fell again even though my boyfriend offered to pay extra for whatever else, to make sure we didn't have this problem again, anytime soon. 4: Called the company back since they said they said they guaranteed their work and they tried putting everything off on my boyfriend, saying threat he said to put old wheels on , but they would be happy to come out and replace the wheels for another $250. Joel reached out and apologized for his mistake, which I greatly appreciated. He agreed to replace the motor and reinstall it for free of charge. On the day of the reinstall, he came out and assessed the issue. He realized the garage door springs were not aligned and the tension was too strong. After he readjusted the springs, the door does appear to be opening and closing more smoothly and it was quieter. The motor was not replaced at this time. Very unhappy and dissatisfied customer. I went with this company because of its high reviews. When I first inquired on 4/5 Joel Velasco-Valdez was very responsive that made me happy and felt like we were in good hands. He initially quoted us a 2-4 week custom order time frame. That order was then delayed due to a warehouse paint spill according to what we were told. We were not told that until 5/9 the day of install. They switched our install date to 5/23 due to the delay and didn't install until 5/24 and only because my husband text to get an update otherwise there was no communication or install updates. After installing they left the new pin pad I mounted because they didn't have the correct screw size. You install these for a living how do you not carry various size screws?
