UNETHICAL and INEXPERIENCED. They arrived at my house on time, told me they could fix my garage door issue for $250. I agreed to their service and the guy "fixed" the issue in 15 minutes. One day later, my garage door didn't open correctly. I called back, the guy told me he "fixed" the wrong issue, it's actually the motor which will cost over $900. They would've applied the $250 to it. Don't believe these guys, they don't know what they are doing! I think this company is a scam. For context I have a quote from a well established local company for $2400 and called these guys for a second bid. I called the number listed, spoke to a person who took my information, and they told me one of their technicians will call me to schedule a consultation/estimate. I get a call from Roz who comes out in an unmarked car and quotes me $2400, but says he can give me a discount down to $1750 + tax if his boss approves. He made a show out of calling to request and confirmed the price. I told him I'd think about it. He left, then called about an hour later called and said he can do it for $1600 including tax but to secure the price I had to zelle him $250. At this point I have no contract and the zelle number is not associated with First Garage Door, it's OA Solutions Inc. At this same time I get a text from Danny claiming to be the tech trying to schedule an appt for later in the day. So I called First Garage's main line again to confirm and reached David the owner. I asked him if he had a tech named Roz. Now he says they can do it for $1150 including tax and can do it today if I pay now. It's 3:30pm still no contract, and I'm thinking there's no way this is legit, so I decline. Later that day I get a call from Cali Garage Doors to schedule the free estimate I requested. I declined. The next day Isaiah from "Garage Gate Services" texts that the new price is $1140 if I pay now. A lot of the other negative reviews say that the positive reviews are fake. I'm not sure, but I'm really uncomfortable moving forward with anything from any of the 4 different companies that want me to pay now. read more

David identified multiple problems, but he did not try to "upsell" us -- for example, he said our motorized door opener was fine and did not need replacing. I wish I could give ZERO star, This is The worst Dishonest Garage repair company you could possibly ever work with. My garage door rollers were off track, so I called this company who had a 5 star review!! Estimated technician ETA kept changing from 1:30 till 5:15 when he showed up, He reviewed the situation and indicated to me that problem was caused by uneven tension of my garage door springs and to fix the problem, springs need to be changed. Technician indicated that there are two kinds of springs, one made in China with one year warranty and one, a high quality spring made in USA which has a 7 yrs warranty . The Chinese spring would cost $250, and the American made would cost $375, I asked for a $25 discount and we agreed on $350 for American made springs for entire job Technician fixed the rollers and took off the springs, AFTER taking the springs off, he indicated that that I also needed two brand drums because mines were too old and each was going to cost me $150 each!!! And when I said the that should have been included or he should've mentioned I may also needed two drums which he didn't. I said that I agreed to pay $350 for the repair and he agreed, but then he told me that $350 was only for one spring, I trusted this gentleman (5star company!!) and instead of asking for written details estimate I agreed on verbal estimate- my fault. So, $350 estimate would actually turned out to be $700 for the springs and another $350 for two drums, After much talking to his manager (I also talked to him), I just asked to leave and will have someone else to do the repairs. I checked the Amazon and here are the exact prices for the same springs ($132.99 for a pair of springs) And for the drum, each would cost $15.29!!!!! A total of about $165 total material cost, this technician was asking for a $1000+ labor & material AFTER we verbally agreed to do the repair for a total of $350, Not an honest, trustworthy and professional company to deal with read more

Came home today and my garage door wouldn't open. It was 4:30 pm or so...ugh. Went in the front door and then to the garage and saw my spring was broken. Come on man! I am in and out all the time. So I yelped "garage door repair" and found First Garage Door and called them. They answered fast and said they could have a tech out to the house tonight! Ben showed up around 5:30-5:45, looked at the broken spring, asked me some questions and explained my options. I told him how to proceed and he did. My door is an old heavy duty metal door, not a new light weight aluminum door. So we went heavy duty springs and hardware to accommodate the weight of the door. Ben cleaned up the rails and oiled things and installed all the new parts and was done before 8:00 pm. It took less than 3 1/2 hours from my call to completion of the project. I don't know what has happened to honesty and integrity in this country. I spoke to David at First Garage and he provided me with a quote of $495 to install a 1/2 hp Chamberlin Garage door opener. He said it was a competitive price - Nothing crazy. So I did some checking. At Lowe's they quoted $245 + tax for a 3/4 hp Chamberlin plus $129 install. Totaling about $398. The 3/4 hp was more than I needed. At Home Depot, they quoted $198 for a 1/2 hp Chamberlin plus $87 install. Totaling $305. So in one scenario I would have saved $100. In the other scenario I would have saved nearly $200. And these YELP reviews are priceless! I have heard many rumors these reviews are fake. I don't know. I called on a Saturday expecting a privately owned local company. I found this isn't the case. Mike did come and repair my garage door opener. I needed a new opener which I figured and the price was fair but then I was I formed I needed new springs. I felt that I really was stuck. How could I question it with my the work almost completed?
