first time here (2 top: my boyfriend and i). 10 mins of sitting here and 3 servers walked by. mind you, we are here friday evening so i would understand if they were busy. but they only had a handful of tables in the restaurant. if anything the bar was fully seated and lots of booths/tables open. eventually i got tired of waiting and went to the host stand to ask for service. when a server eventually came by and took our drink orders (just club sodas). when he came back with our drinks things were starting to run smoothly. we ordered our apps and wings all at the same time (nacho grande & 15 wings). nachos came out first, which is fine, but no plates or silverware. i asked the food runner for silverware and he didnt return with them until we asked a second time. our server was nice and he apologized for the wait multiple times, but the service didnt improve at all. sucks that this will be the first and last time we will be here. read more

The food is okay, but this place has really, really gone downhill since it opened. On our last two visits, we've had to wait too long for food (over 45 minutes tonight). For the second time, there's been very little wait staff. The manager never stopped by our table to check in, yet was catering to other tables. Very disappointed. We've been a loyal customer for quite some time. This has typically been our gathering venue for family and friends, not any more. Recently we've encountered a decline in their customer service, more so with our to go orders. They make us feel as though we're inconveniencing them and are rude. The last 2 times they messed up our order and we had to go back. The last time, they gave us a 10 dollar gift certificate and wouldn't honor it when we tried to use it 6 days later. Last night was the second attempt at this place. Our first visit had a waiter toss us a hand written beer list, had no idea if a red wing sauce existed, waited over 20 minutes to get drinks, food came out wrong. Last night we waited appx 6-7 minutes to have someone greet us, several minutes to get a waitress to the table, drinks were ordered 20-25 minutes we were told "No Dogfish Beer." We ordered alternate drinks and they never came after another 15 minutes. Manager didn't walk the floor, employees on their cell phones and hanging out seated in a booth. While sitting we called the place, heard the house phone ring several times and not one person even answered the phone. In amazement I called again, heard the phone ring and guess what..."Nobody answered" What a joke! read more

If your server is Josh, ask for someone else. Nice guy, but forgetful and not attentive or prompt in delivering requested items to your table, like a cup of water request 3 time in 30 minutes. A Wing place without napkins on the table and they didn't bring any with the order of wings either??? seems petty, but a simple gesture that indicates they are missing the mark. This location has potential but unfortunately the last several visits have shown they don't have the recipe for success. The appearance of this place is nice and has T.V.s in every booth, which is a fun touch if you want to catch a sporting event. The service was very slow. It took 10 minutes to be recognized once seated to be greeted by our server. Our food took over 30min which seemed a little long for a burger and some wings. The burger and fries were cool to the touch when it arrived most likely because it had been sitting before being taken to the table. The patty wasn't seasoned leaving a-lot to be desired. Some of the tossed wings arrived without having any sauce on them and the dry rub did not have any salt in it leaving it flavorless. Additionally the dry rub was labeled as low heat but was actually very spicy tasting like they had used to much cayenne pepper. For as much as we paid for simple food, we could have gone somewhere else for a much better experience. read more

My husband saw that this was a new wing stop that we could go to and watch the games. It was a great start but fizzled out by service. We got result poor service. The great thing about the place is that it's a great family friendly, casual plane to watch the game. TV in each booth. The velocity style wings were crispy and delicious. The Pretzel and beer cheese was yum. The biggest reason why I would not come often was service. It took forever to get our food. Then appetizers and wings all came at once. First time here, just open 3 days and everything is excellent! Service was fantastic, very welcoming manager and great waitress. The food was good - definitely recommend the pretzel bites appetizer. We decided to try tonight and placed a to go order - my husband got a Gyro which he said was Ok however fries were my warm. I got the Texas smothered tator tots and it was very disappointing. It was supposed to come with pork belly but it included only a few bacon bits and the serving size was terrible. I love a good cheese fry but this was extremely disappointing - I wouldn't recommend it and the side of sweet potato fries were disappointing as well. Over all a food not very good and it was expensive for what we received. I did call the manager to see about the Texas smothered tat-or tots and I was told the pork belly was sorta like bacon bits. Visited twice. First time was seated by no wait staff assigned, finally got an order taken after 30 minutes. Second visit seated right away New Year's Eve lunch right by entry doorway - waiter took full order right away, waited 40 minutes with cold air blasts every time the door opened - food arrived after 40 minute wait with barely warm fries - wait never asked if we needed refills - paid $28 check with two $20 bills but only got bak $7 change - had to chase down wait staff even after walking up and down the aisles - poor management - you will not last long with this poor level of service - not retuning read more

I wish I could tell you about the food but I can't as apparently the dine in customers are more important than take-out customers. Just stopped in excited to get some wings for my family and had to get take-out since I have a little one who goes to bed early and we are not able to dine in this evening. I asked to place a to-go order and was told we are not taking to-go orders because they didn't want their kitchen to back up. Talked to Merritt Nichols who is the general manager and apologized for not taking take out orders and started to explain why. He said that they didn't want their kitchen to back up for the dine in customers, which pretty much says that me being a take out customer is not as important as the dine in customers. He was very nice but not the way to start out in a new location. We are not talking about cooking steak here, just wings. If you were not ready to open and take orders from all customers, you should have stayed closed. They need to understand that Bristow is a family community and not everyone can dine-in. At this point, I don't care if they have the best wings in the world, I will never eat there and will advise everyone I know about the experience and encourage them to get wings at Fosters. There are some people in this world who still value customer service over everything else and I am one of those people. If Merritt really wanted to take care of me, he would have treated me like any customer and taken my order instead of sending me away. I would have been ok if he told me it might take a while to get the order ready as it gave me an option as opposed to turning me away. First off the wings are really good! The reason for the three is two fold... First off, our first visit was last Wednesday and the menu says ask your server about our Wednesday night wing special, so I did. I was told it starts next Wednesday. So I said okay and let it go and decided I will try to come back next Wednesday. Secondly, on Sunday night I called in an order for 30 wings which is on the menu for $28. I was told it had to be out in as two separate orders and the cost would be that of two separate orders which was $36. I argued this pint based on the menu and was told the manager would adjust the total upon pick up. When the ordered was picked up by my family member we were still charged $30 and change and that was after using a $5 coupon. Please explain to me how that happens. New businesses should not try to get over on their customers. read more

Horrible. The food was terrible, the service bad and the place was dirty. Our appetizer came out with our meals, I received the wrong food and the ketchup bottle exploded all over my food and the person sitting next to me when I opened the lid. Trying to get anyone to pay attention long enough to ask for extra napkins after the ketchup explosion proved futile. Must be family owned because there were young kids running all around and calling the waitress mom. We definitely won't be going back. read more

I just finished my 5th visit to velocity. In a word-underwhelming. Their food is inconsistent at best. I wanted so much to love this place and gave them every benefit of the doubt. The bottom line is their wings are ok but not great. Their chicken tends to be dry and over-cooked. Their signature steak and cheese was one of the blandest and most unimpressive meals I've ever had. Their burgers are the best bet. But five guys has them beat any day. Their fries are delicious and their appetizers can be very good. The service and people have been great and that's what has allowed me to give them this many chances. All in all though, this place looks promising and comes up way short. I will stop by for a beer and to watch a game but it's not a place for a meal. read more

I am not sure how much eye contact one can make with the staff until they get he point that I need service?had to go find my waiter to get my bill and then the bill was incorrect. Very good wings. Not great but close. Their Spicy Garlic is one of the best I've ever had. They have a Kentucky Derby Blue flavor which is excellent. Wings covered in some sort of white sauce with blue cheese crumbles sprinkled on top. Very good. Buffalo Wild Wings used to be my wing spot (which I don't really like) but since this place has opened they have become my go to wing place. Also they have some of the best blue cheese dipping sauce. I came in this past Saturday and had a very unpleasant experience due to the bartender Cassie. The food was excellent and it seemed like most of the staff enjoyed being there but not Cassie. She was very rude not only towards myself and other customers but also to her peers. I saw a young man who appeared to be trying to help her out by pouring a beer due to the capacity of the bar and she very rudely told him to leave the bar. She was slamming dishes and ice wells and was overall just an unpleasant person to be around. Also, she poured beer that I did not ask for when I was about halfway through my first and I saw her do that with other guests. She seemed to be very disgruntled and not happy to be there like the other employees. I hope to return to possibly a different bartender or server that is respectful and enjoys their job. I have eaten at the Braemar village location several times . The food and the prices are good . I went yesterday after work around 4 pm . It wasn't crowded however the service was slow !!!!! It took quite a while for our food to arrive , I think our order was ready our waiter was busy rolling silverware. He was polite but he forgot my request for mayonnaise, eventually he came to check on the table next to us so I asked him again for the mayo . My burger was cold by now but I ate it , he didn't offer to take away the mounting empty plates when he did pass by , we pushed them to the edge but there they sat in the way until the end . We would have ordered a desert but we were never offered , the thing that I found most disturbing was that my check was $10.55 , I paid with a 20 dollar bill , when he brought back my change it was $9.00 . Where was the 45 cents ? I'm not a cheap skate , I always tip 20%or more however this time I did something I have never done before . I left a single one dollar tip . If you add the missing 45 cents to it then it seems a little more generous . Like I said the food and prices are good and overall it's a clean place to go but the service needs to be re trained . read more

I've been to Velocity Wings in Bristow 4 or 5 times now since they opened. I really want sit down restaurants to last in Bristow, but the food here has got to get better. The pros: Generally friendly staff, love all the TVs, and the fried pickles are pretty good. The cons: The food is just terrible. I've now tried a salad, wings, tenders, flatbread, wrap, and sandwiches. All of them were flavorless and most are just plain greasy. For the salads, there should be more dressing options, like Italian or maybe some low calorie options. I like the salads at BWWs where you can pick a wing sauce for the chicken on your salad. I tried to substitute the buffalo sauce for a wing sauce on one of the salads here, and the kitchen still put buffalo sauce on the salad anyway. The sandwiches are bland and the bread was really greasy for the grilled cheese. It made the entire sandwich just plain soggy. The fries usually come out cold. The tenders and the flatbread were both lackluster. Again, no real flavor to anything except grease. For the sodas, there is only 1 diet option which is Diet Pepsi (gross). You have Dr. Pepper, so please consider adding Diet DP to the menu. My biggest recommendation would to be lay off the grease and work on the actual flavors of the food. Grease is not a flavor. I get this is a bar restaurant, but the food should still taste good. read more

my family has been going to the SOUTH RIDING, VA and the PURCELLVILLE, VA location for quite some times now and consider ourselves happy loyal customers/fans of this restaurant especially that we once met what we thought was the owner "Jim" and he was very very nice, friendly, and professional, so while visiting some family in Bristow va last night we decided to try out the new location ! and WHAT A DISAPOINTMENT !!!!! we walked into the restaurant and stood at the host station for a good 7-10 min where no one greeted us though we could see plenty of employees in the back and by the bar socializing and joking around , once the hostess came from the back and asked us how many people we were ? we were already NOT happy ! so i asked if there was a manager on duty tonight and his/her name? i was told yes and his name is "Barry" , i asked to speak to him before we get seated ! the hostess walked away towards the bar and stood there talking to a gentleman whom we thought was a customer who stopped her with a question cause that gentleman was having a beer at the bar ! well to our surprise ! 3-4 min later once he finished his beer he got up and walked towards the back and into what looked like a manager office ! the hostess came back to us and said Barry will be with us in a minute ! i asked if that was him who was sitting at the bar and she hesitantly answered yes ! i told her thank you and to not worry about it and we left. read more
