I only gave a 1 because I had to rate to review. This is actually a late review because I ordered months ago and just never went back. It's a shame since its not too far from home and I'd love to go more often. I ordered several wings and a burger to go. The sauce was missing off the wings and the burger was raw. I called to complain and was told I could bring the food back up there to get a refund, tacky to not just refund me my money rather than have me drive back up there, but I did because the food was just awful and couldn't see myself giving them a dime. I haven't been back since but hope it's gotten better. read more

It's nice to have a local restaurant however it's not that great. Very few of their things on the menu are good, but too often we've been disappointed. I've asked for a well done burger and continue to get Med/Medium Well. I'm not one that wants to have my food taken away after I receive it so I just deal with it, however it's a bummer. Especially since it's not cheap going out and it's typically a treat to order out. I hope they read the reviews and encourages them to only to get better. read more

Wings need to be cleaneed up a little more. First time we ate from there, wings had feathers. I gave them the benefit of a doubt and went there again, the wings still had feathers. Sadly it's the only "restaurant" in my 5 mile radius. Never going again. Hopefully a worker or manager seed this review and cleans their chicken before serving it to customers. read more

A lot of mixed reviews but I guess I caught them on one of their best days. Their wings are goooood. I had their tossed smoked BBQ and hot wings. Their hot wings ARE hot. It's the kind of hot where it's like, "i like spicy food but i'd like to actually taste my food" and I could without it burning my taste buds. They do have super spicy for my super spicy loving peeps tho. The atmosphere is dope, tv's at each table in a restaurant?! C'mon! They also change the channel to what you'd like to watch ( we decided on Naked and Afraid, and I regret that). Great beers, great prices for the quality food given, great service. I can't wait to try out their happy hour, they have a lot of cool deals and discounts on some days, and they really take pride in attracting their customers with cool games and fun. I go to Velocity at least once a week and I know a friend who goes at least twice a week. I love that each booth has its own tv for kids to watch and their wings are delish. Although my favorite is their Lava Cake!!! I also heard their chili is awesome as well. All the staff members are quite nice including Barry, their manager! Won't go back. LOVE the location in Chantilly and was so excited that this one was opening so close to home....yesterday 11/9 at 12:30 pm I called to place a to-go order....I was told that the wings weren't reacy. Interesting bc the name is Velocity Wings and the restaurant opened at 11....but ok, I wanted them for dinner, so agreed t call back. At 4:30 pm, I called and was put on hold.....watching the timer on my phone, at 9 minutes I hung up....at which point when I called back there was no answer. So I drove to the restaurant (which was fairly empty) and the two sweetest girls listened to my rant and apologized. The manager (I guess) came over to apologize stating that he had dropped the phone ...there was no offer to make any of it right....I did place a to go order and sat there for 20 minutes waiting....only to get it home and the food was sub-par. Not impressed. The hosts weren't as friendly as I hoped, service was lackluster and my cheesesteak and fries were flavorless. The wings were good, but I had to finish tossing them in their sauce. I'd go again, but would want to eat something different, even if it was just wings. I liked the environment. Laid-back sports oriented. I have ordered to go orders at least 15 times and everytime they are completely wrong. Most of the time they give me someonelses order. The manager assured me he was going to check the orders himself. Apparently he isn't. We came back to get the correct order and after double checking it, it was still wrong. read more

Being from buffalo, NY I know chicken wings. The tossed wings ( not breaded) are the most authentic buffalo style wings I have had in Virginia. Crispy on the outside and not mush on the inside. The blue cheese was not very good (it's mixed with ranch) and the draft beer was flat, I would like to see additional sauce flavors like hot BBQ. We also got fried pickles, they were expensive but the best fried pickles I have ever had. Great place. It's nice that they have a TV per every booth to make sure your sport isn't being left out. The service was quick and the assortment of wing sauces was awesome. Great Wings and blue cheese. The wife ordered a buffalo chicken flat bread and it was great all covered with blue cheese crumbles. I ordered a burger to come after some hot wings. I was looking forward to the brioche roll which I think makes the burger. The only problem I have is with the terrible service. These kids need some basic training before you throw them out on the floor. I waited tables and bartended in my early 20's. It's tough work but you can't give a kid more tables than he can handle. Max 3 until they can show that they can handle more. He also didn't write anything down which always makes me nervous. You're not impressing anyone, just write down the damn order! Lol. The worst part was that the kid asked what I wanted and didn't give me any of it. "You want that with onion rings or fries"? I said I would like the rings. Asked if I'd like bacon. Yes, of course. "What kind of cheese would you like"? I said cheddar. It comes out with fries, no bacon, and American cheese. I like American cheese, it's not really a big deal but don't ask me what I want and then not bring any of it. I point this out to the kid when he comes by to check on us about 10 min later when my wife and 2 Bambinos are done eating. I didn't touch the burger, he looked and told me that he was sorry and would bring out the rings and some bacon. He then went on to tell me that my burger did in fact have cheddar on it. Listen, I've been eating burgers for a long time. I know my cheese and melted cheddar doesn't look like that. Lol anyway. Not a huge deal but don't insult my intelligence over a burger. I'm more forgiving than my wife, she says she doesn't want to go back. I've been there again to meet a buddy for a few beers and wings on an afternoon off last week and the food was great and the waiter was just fine considering it was mid day. Go for the great food but if you have little patience than I would give them a few more months. Update* Went in again a few days ago during lunch with the wife. We were just looking for a quick bite and a couple beers and we had an excellent experience due to our wonderful server. Ann was great with recommending something off menu for my wife and knew a lot about their wing sauces and what not. A great server can make all the difference. Went here last night for the first time and had a great experience. The food was really good, there were 9 of us and everybody got what they ordered and there were no complaints. The waitress (Ann) was Amazing and really made the night enjoyable. She was on top of all our requests. The owner of the place even stopped by to chat for a few minutes. The food is good, when you actually get what you ordered that is. We've been ordering for pick up since opening. Wings are the best around, however, tonight we got no blue cheese or celery and carrots. Again. Hubby always orders chicken philly as a wrap, most of the time it comes as a sub. Visited for the first time last night and while the establishment is fresh and new, I was not impressed with my meal. The wings were under seasoned and the sauces lacked the "Velocity". The onion rings were the right thickness but had a coating that was gummy and lacked seasoning. However, the staff was professional and very attentive. This place is absolutely terrible! My child ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and the exact words "mommy this is disgusting and I feel like I have to throw up now." The cheese wasn't melted and it almost looked like they slapped a piece of cheese that had sat out uncovered for a few days. The corners were all hard. The wings are awful, as were the fried pickles. If you want fried pickles from a wing spot, I'd recommend Hooters before this place. Yes...Hooters. The wings had no flavor, weren't tossed in the sauce and it looked like the sauce was poured on top of the wings. We went once and that was our last time there. The wings were great! The perfect amount of sauce and cooked perfectly. I also ordered a Velocity Burger and that was ok. It was a little undercooked for medium rare, was more along the lines of rare, so for future I will order medium. Service could have been a little better, but it wasn't the worst service I have experienced. I was pretty surprised with the wings. Not exactly sure what I was expecting. Although I didn't feel like they toss their wings in buffalo sauce. Seemed more like they drizzle the wings with sauce. Been here a few times and each time has been pretty solid. I enjoy the velocity wings, it's breaded to my liking. My wife has tried the boneless wings but wasn't really a fan. I've tried them (boneless) a few times when she's gotten them and the chicken itself has always been really dry. I wish they would give more sauce as a default, but you can always ask for more without paying extra. This is still a relatively new shop so I think they're still trying to get some things in order in terms of service and wait time for food. This is my second time here and my first experience was a solid five stars, however this time I had to send my food back because the waitress took my order wrong and brought me cold food after not being attentive at all when the restaurant was not busy. Wings are really good sized for the prices, sauces and really good, atmosphere is nice. It seems as if the kitchen is hit or miss though.
