Well, when I stroll along any walk path, whether at Balboa Park or here in Ocean Beach's walk path, lots of people are on an e-bike and some have nearly run over me or my pup. So, as the saying goes, if you can't beat them, join them?! I walked in this shop just to look and see and get informed. My first question was what's the priciest e-bike here? Answer: the WEAPON with all the upgrades add ons will put a dent in your wallet $9,999 and you save $$$ if you get the basic for $6k. The WEAPON E-Bike, particularly known in the market as the SUPERHUMAN WEAPON, is a high-performance electric mountain bike designed for serious trail enthusiasts. Weighing approximately 55 lbs, the use of a CARBON FIBER FRAME enhances both strength and agility, allowing for a responsive riding experience. And almost all parts are a challenge to get if the part is out of stock since most suppliers are based in China, who is subject to US tariffs. E-bikes must be used on the street and NOT on walkways/pathways or you can get ticketed by police. Jared was very helpful and informative and I got to look around the shop. The shop was organized and turns out they are authorized dealers of many brands. The shop also sells more affordable $$ e-bikes and are customizable for size and features if upgrades. To conclude, I don't have FOMO and I'm still not convinced I need an e-bike but if I do get one, I would consider this shop because I got great customer service from Jared who was nice and cool. If you're interested in an e-bike this place might have what you're looking for. Recommend

They closed in two hours and said it would be done by 5. Walked by about an hour later (no call), and the bike was in the store and done. Go inside and no one was in the store, but I heard someone in the back. After a few minutes we looked in the back and asked if the bike was done. It was, and it was $20 for the fix. I was happy with that! Started riding out of OB, and by the time we hit Morena area, something felt off. Looked down and the tire looked soft. Within 5 more minutes it was dead flat. Had to call for a ride all the way back home. Today I looked at the tire closely with a flashlight and saw that they never removed the tiny piece of metal in the tire that caused the flat. Took the wheel off and put pressure in the tube, only to find the leak was on the inner (rim side) of the tube. Nothing sharp on the rim, so they must have messed up on the install. Why replace a tube and not inspect the tire? And a bike shop that installs a tube wrong that causes a flat? Gave this place 2 stars just for the fact that I'm only out $20

He actually ran the show at Bicycle Garage in Pacific Beach for several years before splitting off 6 months ago. He was very knowledgable, did great work, and the turn-around time was just a couple of days (some work can be done same-day or while you wait). Just for the record, this is my first Yelp review and Ray did not tell me to write a review.

Have had Andrew here three times now to work on my Juiced Scrambler ebike - I can highly recommend him if you have anything that needs fixing on your bike! Trust is big if you don't know your way around bikes, or if you don't have the necessary tools for it. Andrew came by with the Velofix Van and had my bike ready and repaired quickly. And he'll tell you if it's just a small fix, even if he won't make much money off of that. I've been to different bike (and car) repair shops for that matter where that definitely wasn't the case. Andrew from Velofix is the best mechanic I have found in San Diego, bar none. He was the third professional mechanic this year to address various creaks and noises on my Pinarello road bike, but the first to actually find and fix them all! He got deep into the bottom bracket, headset and rear hub. No new parts needed, just a really thorough, deep cleaning and greasing on all. But he fixed what others didn't. He put brand new Ultegra on my 1985 steel frame and fork. He took his time and did it right. Even though they were open later than all the bike shops in the surrounding area. While I was there, I ended up having a conversation how I just got done rebuilding my fox 38 Fork and was having issues with the rebound. And after explaining everything, the guy said sounds like you don't have enough oil in the damper. I was able to make the repair in about an hour and sure enough that guy nailed it and help me fix the problem. If I ever need service on my mountain bike that I can't repair myself, I will be taking it to this shop and I recommend you take your bike here. Top notch service and expertise which is not common for shops here along the coastal region.
