Surrounded by plants, plenty of charm and an inviting entrance into a world of flavorful, Italian food! Red Velvet Cake & Chocolate Cake | Shared | Both were flavorful and delicious, not overly sweet! There were numerous flavors to choose from, definitely trying the carrot cake next time! Drinks | My kombucha was delicious! My neighbor had apple juice! Our other neighbor, he had beer! It was a hot day, so drinks were definitely in order! Food | Pizza, Pasta, Gelato & more! I was first introduced to this restaurant by my former neighbor! Once, when her mom was in town from Italy, we all ate here, along with their other friends from Italy! We enjoyed the flavorful food; as numerous dishes were ordered that day! Seating | Neighbors & I sat on the outside patio that has a lot of plants, plenty of space, several tables and chairs... Very relaxing vibe! There is also seating inside! Happy Meeting | While on my walk to one of the 2 post offices I go to, I ran into my neighbor with her cute dog! She walked with me, and as we were crossing the street, away from the Venice Sign, we saw another neighbor! He invited us to grab a quick drink at Venice Cucina! Fun & always an adventure in the neighborhood when she and I are out and about! Afterwards, we all said our goodbyes and went our separate ways! Customer Service | Super friendly! Even though the restaurant was close to closing, he let us all sit outside on the patio, have a drink and catch up! Thanks again! Overall | Yes! I absolutely need to return and try the gelato, as well as have a bite to eat, looking forward to it! Also, dog friendly, as my friend's dog sat happily out on the patio with us! This is such a cute little restaurant! There was a laid-back atmosphere adorned with leafy plants and excellent service. It's perfect for a date night out, or catching up with some friends :) the price is also reasonable. Antonio, the owner came and recommended some shrimp scampi (delicious!) he was very patient and hospitable. I got the garlic bread appetizer and shrimp scampi. Everything was freshly made with care; the pasta was generous with toppings, buttery, and full of flavor depth (just the right amount of lemon zest!). The garlic bread paired with the olive oil was so crunchy. This place deserves so much more visits and love-- come down here if you're ever in Venice; you won't regret it! read more

Owner is a lunatic and thinks he owns the "loading zone" outside of his restaurant. He's cobbled together different "tow-away zone" sines from previous events and places it front of his awful restaurant and will harass anyone who parks there. He immediately starts taking pictures of any vehicle that parks there. He threatens to call the cops, who I'm sure just ignore him at this point. This has been going for a decade, but after my last encounter a couple weeks ago, where I pulled half of his BS sign down, I felt the need to let everyone know. read more

I'll never go back! I'm not surprised at all by all the other comments about how rude the owner is. This place is mostly empty all the time, for a reason. I used to get the lasagna there, but the last time I went I was YELLED at and kicked out by the owner. Why? I've no idea. He was on his cell phone in a clearly tense conversation the middle of the restaurant. So I proceeded to do what I always did: quietly made my way to the order counter. But he stopped me by yelling "What are you doing?! Get out of here!!!!" I turned around 100% shocked. He used to be pleasant enough to me. I asked what I did, but he gave me no reason and he just continued to yell at me to get out (while he was still on the phone). I said that I couldn't leave there quickly enough and that it was not OK to yell at me and I used to be a customer. NOTE: there was no sign at the entrance, saying wait to be seated. There was just the usual walk up to the counter to order. I have no idea if he was offended I didn't say hi to him when I walked by (again: he was in quite a heated conversation, and I didn't want to disturb him). Maybe he was taking his anger out on me (most likely the scenario, as I had also witnessed him yelling at someone in the street about a month earlier). Clearly this person has anger issues. But that is no excuse, or way to treat a paying customer (now EX customer). read more

This place is an LA gem. I noticed it open last year around 7 pm on Christmas Day they were open. It looked so charming so I peeked in. It is the most authentic, low key Italian place I've seen in all of LA. So much that I selfishly don't want to share this post! But I have to because - it's truly a gem. Antonio has personally taken incredible care of myself & my friends each time I'm there. Don't expect the typical "bougey LA" service. There's no frills. I love this place. Venice has a lot of fine Italian restaurants to choose from and there's no need to pledge loyalty to just one. We come here when we wanna keep it casual and stuff our faces. Food snob, came in here at 9:30 on a Wednesday night looking for any restaurant still open, have been surprised by some of the best pasta I've had in a long, long time. We were on our way to our favorite sushi place when we were drawn to the happy sounds of laughter coming from the patio. The smell of garlic and tomato sauce drew us inside and we are so glad we stayed. This unassuming pizza and pasta place is a one-man-show complete with personalized, heartfelt service and delicious filling food. What a fun serendipitous evening! We had the pasta puttanesca - mildly spicy garlic and tomato sauce over linguini noodles with olives, capers, peppers and mushrooms. I opted to skip the anchovies. It was delicious! We took half home for the next day. We also ordered the penne arrabiatta (sp?) with chicken - spicy and slightly creamy tomato sauce that was cooked perfectly. We also took half of that home! Topped off with a bottle of Chianti (it was warm but otherwise delicious and reasonably priced) and we got a bottle of San pelligrino sparkling water. All for under $100 for 2. We felt like we were dining at an Italian trattoria. It seemed like the customers who joined us on the patio were all from out of town. We visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening. The location was perfect with a short walk from the beach. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Everything was authentic and tasted excellent. I would highly recommend this if you are in the area and want Italian. read more

This place was a bit tourist trappy. Its a tad bit pricey for an 'order at the front find your own seating' place. The older gentleman that took our order was kind however everything else was mid in all honesty. If youre in the mood for some pizza you can get a better tasting pizza somewhere else for a way better price it was honestly kinda bland, nothing special. Although service wise they were kind it was extremely slow. On a Friday evening they only had one older Hispanic man running the whole kitchen not very packed at all but took 45+ mins for one pizza we ordered. I asked if they can please bring extra sauce and the man said "not sure I will see" and he just never brought it. I asked if they maybe had ranch and he said no. I know they are "authentic italian" but I have been to many Italian places and this isnt an issue so I was a bit disappointed considering they also never brought initial sauce request. Last thing if they offer you glass of wine, unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for a whole bottle i'd kindly refuse. Overall was just ok. Giving 3 stars because the man was friendly. read more

When I tell you this is some of the most authentic, delicious and satisfying Italian places I've been to in the LA area, this is an understatement. Antonio welcomed us with so much warmth and humor, and also cooked our ravioli and Spaghetti AllaNonna to perfection!! Plus the garlic bread is SO fluffy and flavorful. This was the find of our visit! Absolutely spectacular service! The servers went out of there way to make us feeling welcome. The food was delicious, however slightly pricey for us Texans. I always love eating here. Cozy outdoor vibes in Venice Beach. It's the best sauce I've had outside of New York. Like, their sauce is so good I am blown away by it every time. The calamari is my favorite app and their mains are all really good. I used to get the chicken parm which they don't have anymore but the lasagna is great. When I used to come here a few years ago you had to bring your own wine but they serve alcohol now. It's not fancy, just real deal Old School Italianamerican food that's hard to find outside of the Northeast with a great vibe. Highly recommend especially for a date. read more

I stumbled upon this while walking my dog and decided to have an early dinner here. I am SO happy we did because this place is a magical spot straight out of a story book. The owner is so kind.. such a fantastic host. He even brought out my dog some treats and water. Great beer selection. Incredible ravioli sauce. Great seating.
