Very friendly staff, great atmosphere, and pizza and caesar salad was bomb, including the spicy ranch! Would come again!

Stopped by here today for a quick bite to eat before going to a pop up elsewhere. I was eyeing the salad pizza, but went for buffalo chicken instead. I liked it and thought it was a solid slice of pizza. Didn't realize they were under new ownership and some older patrons are upset, but I will say there was still bagel crust today (another review said there wasn't). I enjoyed it so I think it's still worth checking out and maybe bugging the owner to bring back some classics.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "I love Abbot's!" Saturday we stopped in about 6:00pm and ordered some slices to go. Service is very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the Pepperoni slice and the BBQ Chicken slice. There isn't much ambience inside but the pizza more than makes up for that. We love Abbot's and will continue to order take out forever!

The decor of this small pizza place that has slices is super fun. See the pics. Great signs too. And the service was friendly and fast. The pizza was surprisingly good. But I'm not sure I've ever paid $8ish for a slice of pepperoni pizza before, not even at a baseball game or in NYC. So I just got one. I was hungry and it was tasty. If you're walking by and craving pizza, grab a slice.

After learning yesterday of the demise of two of my fav LA restaurants, I wandered along Abbot Kinney for awhile and stopped in at Abbot's Pizza Company, a small take out joint with a window bar to sit that has been dishing out Pizza pies since 1995. That in Venice years, like dog years, or Dogtown years perhaps, is over 50 years old. I was glad it is still there as most of this street has changed over a number of times since the anchor tenant on this rough block in the day was The Brig. In 1952, local Venice boxing hero Babe Brandelli retired from boxing and opened "Babe Brandelli's Brig." For over 40 years, Babe and his descendents operated THE BRIG at its present location while living in the 2nd floor apartments above. A classic Mom & Pop neighborhood bar, THE BRIG was a local favorite for inexpensive alcohol served nearly all day and night. In later years it was a 'dive' for bikers and others attracted to such venues. As a teenager whenever I walked past The Brig, bodies were literally flying out the door and I witnessed more than one fist fight if that's what you would call someone punch drunk trying to throw punches. This Abbot Kinney shares nothing with the old nor the diceyness of Electric Avenue and around Abbot Kinney in the days before electricity when me and sabertooth tigers roamed Venice. If you don't believe me I've started a religion based on these facts. Begin here if you skipped the above: I ordered a Gluten Free Bianca- Red Onion, Fresh Sliced Tomato with Mozzarella, Parmesan & Ricotta, Basil and Garlic Pesto Sauce. They offer a 10" and 14" but no slices for GF pizza although the pizza man at the counter said that he gets lots of requests. My disease is becoming a movement. During my 20 minute wait for my Bianca Pérez-Mora Macías pie, I whiled away the time talking with a woman and her dog also salivating waiting for their pizza. Actually, I was the one salivating. We spoke of the intuitiveness and intelligence of dogs. By the way, has anyone since Ray Bolger actually whiled away the hour? I continued to walk now with my hot pie in hand stopping to take pics and on to my home where I devoured half of the pie which was absolutely delicious. I saved the other half for tomorrow. To be continued....

The kind of pizza that's premade-they store it in a clear box, you choose your pizza and they then heat it or finish cooking it in the oven. That's not my favorite style.. Restaurant is cool and seems to have a pretty good following.. Just not my thing..

We really enjoyed the pizza, perfectly baked crust with a great balance of sauce and cheese. The toppings were fresh and flavorful

We really enjoyed the pizza, perfectly baked crust with a great balance of sauce and cheese. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, especially the pepperoni with a nice garlic kick. Simple, classic, and done right

Love coming here for a slice of pizza! Selvin & the staff are polite and offer great service. The place is small but perfect for a quick bite.

One of my favorite go-to spot for my lunch, the pizza here is great! I've tried the Half a Pina and Salad Pizza. Both very different but great options. Highly recommend the everything crust and the hot sauce. Staff is super chill too, the ambiance is welcoming and a good spot for people watching.

Jackson market as a whole in terms of ambiance, variety, taste definitely overtakes bay cities but if you're just talking about comparing food quality sand which to sand which it will be a tough TIE (it's not less) than bay cities. Bay cities is loaded and so is Jackson but bay cities is a little more juicier where the inside sandwich ingredients shine more and you can definitely taste each of the ingredients eg banana peppers meats deli cheese etc. Jackson market's Italian sub had harder bread but I could see like some would argue it's more balanced. It definitely is a little less juicy and even though there were complimentary banana peppers I hardly tasted it at all as it was sprinkled far and few. If you paid for an added topping eg. Jalepenos they were definitely generous with it. Tip: DO NOT get the French baguette toasted as it'll be too hard. The market is fun because it also offers wine selections ($20-$60), not a fun cheese selection like bay cities, pasta salad, bomb tiramisu, has an entire PIZZA OVEN in the back, fun canned drinks including GUAYABA (an aloe tasting like drink), pastries, and chips/snacks. Ambiance - the patio in the back is spacious and big. They don't allow you to bring a computer to work there and the WiFi and service is pretty bad there. Parking - street parking along residential homes 2 subs ($14.99/each), 2 drinks, 1 large chip ($4.95) came out to be around $44. Overall an amazing find. The 10/10 would come back & especially try the pizza. Revolutionary in food taste ? Probably not but revolutionary in enjoyability and spot find? 1000%. Happy munching !

This was a random choice today. I Googled sandwiches near me, and Jackson Market popped up. I…read morehave passed the place many times, unaware that it is a deli/pizza joint. It's tucked away in a residential neighborhood and parking can get a little tight. When I walked in, it was a little confusing because I did not see any clear directions on how to place my order. I asked another customer who appeared to have been there before and he guided me to this counter with paper that had menu items on it. You have to checkmark the ingredients you want on your sandwich or whatever you're ordering. I wanted an Italian sub, I wasn't sure if I should check off ingredients for an Italian sub, or if just checking Italian sub and the type of bread I wanted would get me a sub with the standard ingredients for an Italian sub. The sub was definitely not what I expected, it was dry and flavorless. I wanted extra onions, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, and extra mayonnaise. None of those ingredients were present, and there was no clear way for me to make the request because it's nearly impossible to interact with the people preparing the food. When it was all said and done, I would definitely not order an Italian sub from here again. Definitely organized chaos! Or, just unorganized depending on how you look at it. It all just appeared to be a little chaotic. I also grabbed some tuna and watermelon, which was a refrigerated section in plastic containers. I ordered the tuna because it listed onions and celery as two of the main ingredients I look for in tuna. The tuna was dry and flavorless. I will need to add more celery, onions, mayonnaise, salt and pepper with a few other ingredients, which means I could have made it myself. I also ordered watermelon, which was not sweet, it tasted like it was cut too close to the rind. I'm still not sure how I feel about Jackson Market. Based on some of the responses from the owners, I don't think I would return. I don't understand why we can't come to a platform like Yelp and give our honest opinion without the owners responding so harshly, instead of taking the criticism and using it to their advantage, or not. As far as Italian Subs go, may I suggest Ghost Sando or Philly's Best? Even Jersey Mike's is better. IMHO! This review was typed on a mobile device, please forgive any typos.
