I had a great experience at my appointment! I was looking for a new office, and I chose this location based on yelp reviews. It is all trueee! I called Monday and they gave me an appointment the next day. The staff is so kind and welcoming! The doctor is gentle and thorough! I got a great deal and left with 2 pairs of glasses which were ready to pick up within 2 hours! I am a very happy customer, and felt that they care about their clients. There were a few other people coming in and out while I was there and everyone was treated just as important. They gave me advice on how to care for my glasses, and let me take my time in selecting the right frames for me. I tried a variety of glasses and was open to all suggestions. Went here for the first time ever. First of all I was told that I have a astigmatism from all eye doctors I have ever been to and they were the first to point out that I in fact do NOT have a astigmatism... Not only that, but the last eye doctor I went to did my lenses made center of focus so far off that I didn't really have a center on my lens, which I found out is obviously not a good thing. The eye exam was fast, the staff are down to earth and they will find a frame that fits your face. Of course they push higher end frames, no problem here with that. I am confident that I will go back for RX sun Glasses and some contacts as well... Thanks to the free samples they decided to hook up! Great place, Great staff, Great service. My family and i have been going to Jane for over 13 years for glasses and contacts now. She's the best and her staff is also so friendly. Even though I moved 50 miles farther I still drive down to her shop! It's worth my drive. I've tried closer optometrists nearby but none compare in service, selection, or price. The staff are very friendly and JANE the owner I believe, was so friendly and nice I was able to get good new frames and the prices are unbeatable compare to the other optometry I've been going for many years.. This is by far the best optometry that I've ever been to. The people here are absolutely wonderful. I love Jane and her staff. Grace is so wonderful and hard working. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and cared for. I actually had FUN coming in for an eye exam. I mean eye exams aren't excruciating or anything, but they aren't exactly fun. They are usually bland. But I had so much fun here. I was relaxed and enjoy the company of the people at Venice Optical. I absolutely recommend this place to anybody who needs glasses or contacts. I needed a new contact lens prescription. Their prices are also pretty amazing. $69 for eye exam for contact lens. That's cheaper than the price at Costco. Highly recommended! They team up with 2020 Optometry just a few storefronts down. 2020 takes care of you for your eye exam (super fast), and Venice is where you go for your frames and lenses. Jane is incredibly sweet and took the time to hunt down a pair of frames that fit my face and the aesthetic I was looking for. The lenses were then ready in less than 20 minutes (though, for context, my prescription is very simple). I first went to costco to find prescription lenses for my frames that I bought online. They told me that it would take approximately 7 business days to insert the prescription lenses into my frame. I immediately left costco and happened to stumble across venice optical. They told me that they could have my pair of glasses finished within 20 minutes. I was ecstatic that they followed through with what they said. The staff there were very professional and courteous. I also wanted to add that costco wanted 170 dollars, Fortunately, I ended up only paying only 100 dollars to Venice Opticall. They basically saved me time and money. They are the best! This is the only place I go to for my eye exam and eye glasses. They have an excellent selection and even better customer service. I just had my eye exam done by Dr. Vu. She is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. She even taught me how to relieve my dry eyes by using some warm towels. Then I got a new pair of glasses with some help from Angie and Jane. The frame is flexible and very light, not to mention how great it looks! It only took me 30 minutes to walk out of the store with my new glasses with the updated prescription. Only 30 minutes. Came back after a year and a half since my friend was getting her eyes checked. I decided to get mine checked too since it's been a while and I wanted to get contacts. Service is just as good as ever. I noticed they expanded a bit which is awesome. Exam was nice and quick and getting my contacts was super quick as well. I don't normally review places but this place made me so happy and grateful. They are absolutely phenomenal. My glasses broke 3 days before my baccalaureate ceremony and a week before my graduation. So I went to my old optometry store to try and somehow remedy this situation. I mean, I was graduating and I had duct tape on my glasses. Not exactly what I wanted in my pictures. On top of that, I was performing at the ceremony. So I was in a pickle. I had 3 days to try and a)get new frames and b)make it fit in our budget. Now my parents and I have been with icare optometry on Carson st. for a while now. When I went to icare for solutions, I pitched the idea of maybe just transferring my lenses (bc the lenses were fine) to a similar pair, preferably a cheaper one because my now broken ray bans were $200. Without even an effort she said no we can't do that and immediately pitched me the idea of buying new glasses. don't get me wrong, she wasn't rude or mean or anything, but the effort wasn't there. Fast forward to when I went to Venice shortly after, the woman there, Jane, whom I am assuming is the owner or manager, spoke to me and practically searched her entire store for the slight possibility that she might find a pair. And she did. AND she gave me 20% off. For which I was very grateful. I walked out of the store 20 min after arriving with brand new frames and 2 days til the baccalaureate. Great service, friendliness, amiability, effort, and ease make this place a much better choice for your optical needs. It was so great to see them make such an effort in helping me. And not just that, but she put absolutely no pressure on me--she talked to me like I was a friend, not a costumer; a person and not a sale opportunity. My family and I are definitely taking our business here. AND they have an amazing selection of frames and sunglasses. I absolutely recommend this place. I found out about this place when I went to get a hair cut at Anna's Salon (they cut my hair really nice!) When I needed a new pair of glasses because my nephew broke my glasses, I thought i would check out the new place instead of going to Costco i usually go to because it took forever to get my glasses done last time. When I walked in, i was greeted by couple of employees and the owner. They were super friendly and nice. It took me a looong time to find a frame i like becaue i am very picky when it comes finding glasses i like but still employees there were very patient with me and helped me to find the right one. They told me that glases could be made in 10 min. so i decided why not just wait here instead of driving all the way home and bother to drive back. So i waited at the bagel shop next door to grab some bagle and coffee (their garlic bagel was sooooo good!) When i went back in about 15 min. my glasses were ready and waiting for me to wear it. And I cant tell you how much i love my glasess. Everyone compliments on how cute my glasses are.(Thank you Jane!!!! ) Yea i know i wrote a lot, but to sum it up, GREAT AND FAST SERVICE and SUPER FRIENDLY PEOPLE!!! and i cant possibly ask for more. =) read more

I read the reviews and thought I'd give this place a shot. I was so impressed with how true to the reviews this place is. Jane is amazing at picking the right frames that suit me and has a friendly personality. I went in at 1:30 Thursday, and my glasses were ready at noon the next day! The previous place I had been to wanted $210 just for the lenses alone, with insurance. I paid just $50 more for lenses AND frames at Venice Optical. I'm really envious of all the wonderful experiences that many other users have had with this optical place. My personal experience has been not so great. I went to her a few weeks ago. She is very nice and the staff is kind. The place is clean and bright. But the prescription I was given was not correct. I kept telling them this while at my visit, but they insisted that my eyesight had "gotten better." I kept telling them that I still couldn't see correctly. I went home with a trial pack of contact lenses and a week later was still not convinced that this was the right prescription. I went back and they kindly offered to see me again (no charge). Again, they did NOT get the prescription right! I'm so upset at the results I've gotten here. I have to go back again to see if they can FINALLY do my exam correctly and FINALLY give me the right prescription. Unfortunately, I will have to return my contacts and new glasses that I had already ordered and received. Blah. I wish I could say it's been a great experience. The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because they are so nice. It's just... I can't keep coming back for something that should have been correct the first time around! read more

Venice Optical is the absolute best place for glasses in the South Bay. I first came here about two years ago for prescription glasses and sunglasses. I was so impressed the first time that I came back again since my prescription has changed. I got a new pair of glasses and sunglasses and had new lenses put in my old pair to use as backups for vacations and hiking. Venice has a large selection of frames to choose from. The owner and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. It seems like the whole staff gets in on selecting frames for you. I started out with one person helping me but by the time I was done there were 3 people assisting me. The whole experience made trying on the frames fun.
