I've been going here for 4 years now and i love how they treat each customer. I have an out of network ins but getting the claims is not a problem. They take care of everything. I am not able to pick up my glasses at their regular hours and jane was gladly to offer if i am able to stop by before they open because she is usually there early which is very accomodating. they will send you a message as soon as your order is ready.Their previous location was in lomita and crenshaw but this new location is better.more parking and nice area.for sure customers will follow wherever they move. Their prices were far less than every other optical retailer that I had checked our in my optical quest. Secondly, I was attended to right away with a friendly, professional service. Best optical place I have been to! Took my VSP insurance. Was in and out in 40 minutes. The eye exam took 10 minutes no wait!! The staff was the most friendly I have ever experienced at an optics place. They were attentive and very nice made conversation the moment I stepped in. This place was such a score to find! I've always gotten my glasses at costco but when I decided I wanted to go for red ones this time I had to expand my search. After trying multiple chain stores with no luck at all I tried Venice Optical based on the yelp reviews. Not only were the staff extremely friendly and helpful but the selection was fantastic! They had more than 20 red pairs in all shapes and sizes that they helped me try, giving their feedback on them too (sometimes you need someone honest enough to tell you they just don't work for you.) I found exactly what I was hoping for, at a price I was thrilled by especially being designer frames, and they even took another 20% "just because." Husband and I went in today and were immediately helped . We took our eye exam and the lady was so nice. She actually noticed my last eye doctor had given me the wrong prescription. Jane knows her stuff. She took one look at the prescription that my insurance-assigned optometrist wrote for me and knew it would not work. The glasses my other optometrist made turned out the way she predicted. I cannot see my computer screen. The ones she said would work, and made for me, turned out perfectly. I needed a pair of sunglasses made to my prescription, which I want to wear when driving and playing golf under from bright to low light conditions of sunset or cloudy days. ( Sunglasses at stores are usually very dark ) I also wanted to make it bifocal so that I can read score card. Jane recommended using G-15 colored lenses with 50% of darkness. Now I got the glasses and 100% satisfied. It has a light tint and does not change the color of objects ( good for golf and driving, can read smart phone clearly ) but very effective to make objects less bright. For the last few years, I ordered from Jane my progressive glasses and my daughter's prescription sunglasses, and I know from experience their quality of work is spot on and customer service is superb. read more

They deserved these wonderful reviews. The minute I walked in, I was greeted by a nice lady (who I learned was Jane) and she dropped what she was doing and started to help me. I've been here 3 times with family members. I've always been able to get an appointment either same day or next day. Venice optical is connected with 20/20 optometry. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to see the doctor. That I love. Good exam and then you go to pick a frame & lenses. There are tons to choose from. Once we were able to replace lenses in the same frames and it only took about an hour. Everyone is so nice and very helpful. There is no pressure to buy at that second. Great experiences! read more

I decided to give this business a try based on all their positive Yelp reviews. Im glad I did! I've previously had my eyes checked and purchased glasses from Sears in the past but they can be expensive and the wait time for your glasses is too long. Not with Venice Optical! I went in a little bit early before my appointment and they helped me right away. Where you get your eye exam is in a different location just a few doors down. The eye exam was quick and cheap ($30)! As soon as I got my prescription I went back down to Venice Optical and chose a pair of glasses. They have a wide range of prices from cheap no name frames to high end brand name frames. Once I picked my frames, she told me to come back in an hour! I couldn't believe it! The whole process was under 2 hours and under $200. I'd recommend to anyone and everyone! read more

Initial contact was "Nice". 8 months after buying 2 pairs of progressive glasses and maximizing out my VSP coverage, I found an obvious crack on my lenses at the point where the screw attached to the hinges for the nose bridge. Returned to Venice to resolve the quality issue. Immediately upon entering they knew I was there not to buy, but there to resolve a problem. They hesitantly took the defective "cheap" quality glasses to the back, told me they sprayed some type of glue to prevent the crack in lenses from spreading and sent me on my way and basically said good riddance. The same NICE gal was busy selling the other NEW customers cheap glasses while I walked out MIFFED due to them maxing out my insurance and selling me cheap knock off products and NOT fixing the defects. Don't believe the high YELP ratings. Wouldn't put it past them to have all their own relatives and friends writing them. read more
