Incredibly hospitable service by a knowledgeable pourer and good wine in an expansive and beautiful setting that happens to be kid-friendly. Our pourer accommodated us outside and highlighted some of the games for our kids to play while we ensured they wouldn't bother anyone; however, in the heat of the midsummer, few guests were here. The wines were good, natural, and priced maybe a little higher than we would have wanted to pay (especially for the white and rose), but the experience outweighed that piece. Overall, the prices are comparable to other westside boutique wineries. We were brought here at the suggestion of our Wine Line driver, Nick. Over a two day period which included six wineries in Paso and four wineries in SLO this was our favorite tasting experience. I believe that it was our first tasting of the day, which was good because the wines were the best. When we came in, we had the clean, understated tasting room all to ourselves, while another party enjoyed themselves in a separate "living room" type area off to the side. I think I liked every wine on the list. i only wish that $32+ wines were in my budget. But hey, that's what tastings are for, right? read more

A local gem that we stumbled on upon by accident--it was also wonderful and amazing that despite not having reservations they gladly accommodated our party of 7 with the same attention and hospitality like we had reservations for months in advance. All the staff treated us like family and presented their wines with an appropriate breadth knowledge that we (who consider ourselves serious winos) enjoyed and picked up some new facts about this microclimate and its impact on the grapes for their wines. It didn't hurt as well that we enjoyed the majority of the wines. What I want to highlight is that they pair the wine tasting not only with crackers but with freshly barbecued sausage which is a welcome accompaniment! The people are so, so nice and down-to-earth and combine that with our favorite wines in Paso, it's just hard to beat. Cab, Grenache, Cuvee, Fleur Blanc, we love them all. Stop #5 and final stop of our October 2014 tour This place was deserted when we got there, and it was such a relaxing and restful tasting experience. The wines were good, and the ladies serving us provided a great leisurely tasting that was well explained. I was particularly impressed with some of their efforts to do dry farming (they space the grape vines out further than normal and don't irrigate-- what water comes in from Mother Nature is what those grapes get). We enjoyed the wines and experience of tasting in adirondack chairs on a porch. Amazing, right? We came home with a bottle of the Pinot which wasn't quite as good as we remembered, though. We still have a bottle of Syrah to have in the future so let's hope that is as good as we recall. In any case, I'll definitely come back to try it again some day. read more

Delicious wines, affordable prices, excellent service, enjoyable property. We have been to Venteux twice now, both visits have been excellent. This is our favorite vineyard we have visited. The wines are fantastic and the staff is not pretentious like other tasting rooms. Dollar value goes a long way which is great because all the wines are so good you will want to buy several bottles. The tasting gets you several pours and we have always been treated with off menu pours as well. There is also a cheese pairing and complimentary bbq. You cannot go wrong visiting Venteux. read more

Absolutely the worst experience of my life treated horrible was a accused of being intoxicated when I was the designated driver. Would loved to have tried the wine but got kicked out before we could order. As a vineyard owner myself it's unbelievable the disrespectful way we were treated This is the first post I've ever done in 54 years of life and most likely my last since I can't imagine being treated as bad as we were anywhere else. Owning multiple businesses in my life I believe customer service starts at the top and as a owner not only would I fire the workers on the spot I most likely would have never hired them in the first place. read more

The woman working here was absolutely the rudest person in paso robles. Not only did she greet and seat another party prior to ours but she told us to go eat before coming back. We had been to one vineyard before coming here so by no means we're we too intoxicated. Seemed like a nice setting to taste wine - but came for actual wine tasting not just scenery. Waited over 10 minutes at the table. No one even came over to us to say anything. Staff was not cognizant of their tables. When we expressed our concern of getting any service - one of the waitresses we flagged could care less. Table seater was unaware of us leaving. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying a couple nights at Venteux's Bed and Breakfast in May of 2013. We were welcomed by Bobbi with a selection of cheeses and crackers and a bottle of wine to enjoy. Her hospitality and cooking talents are unmatched! She was gracious enough to pack our breakfast in a picnic basket so that we could enjoy it anywhere on the grounds. Their wines are also great. This was our first trip to Paso Robles. In 9 days we went to 40 wineries. Venteux was one of the top 3 that we went to. The people there took time to explain their concepts, we met everyone involved in the winery including the wine maker. We loved it so much we joined the wine club. I did the wine tasting and was pleasantly surprised I tasted all of the wines and loved all of them that's very rare for me I may find 0 to 1 at most places everything there was amazing had the venison log had the sheep cheese and was entertained by Ryan and Chuck who were the host of the tasting room! The short summary: Very good wines at appropriate prices. Very friendly staff at a range of knowledge levels all complement the wine perfectly. Definitely worth the drive PAST Turley (seriously skip Turley. Do not be tempted to stop there) to go the Venteux. This place is up there with the best of the small local wineries I've ever been to. The long summary: 2008 Fleur Blanc ($16): Their only white, a blend of Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne. Good choices for white grapes in a blazingly hot region, and it shows. This wine lacks the complexity of higher-price point wines, but it is a very strong showing for its price point, clearly superior to most whites in its class, and equal to the best under $20. 2007 Farmhouse Cuvee ($28): a GSM blend. I would describe this wine as very fruit forward with well rounded flavor profile. A solid early release red wine, probably not capable of improving with age for more than another few years. I wouldn't call this an extreme value at $28, but its in the appropriate price bracket. 2007 Raucous ($35): Syrah, Cab Sauv, Petite Sirah, and Mourvedre blend. Interesting blend that made for an interesting (in a good way) wine. Some decent spiciness, fairly substantial oak and tannins, overall fairly well balanced. Perhaps a bit south of $30 would be a more appropriate price, but I suspect this wine has the backbone to continue to improve and probably will deserve the $35 asking price. For now its just not quite worth that imo, although I certainly did think it was a good wine. 2007 Petite Syrah ($36): First off, they misspelled "Petite Sirah." Ok, so its an alternate spelling, but its not the spelling 99% of other Americans with an interest in wine would use, but I guess I'll grudgingly accept it since it is technically correct. I guess. This wine was smokier, with a stronger, toastier oak flavor. This was backed up by some pretty solid fruit flavors and grape tannins. While I found the oak to be harsh, it was somehow a positive in the context of this wine, almost like a little glass of wine S&M. I suspect that this wine is just reaching its stride and will mellow a bit into something pretty wonderful over the next few years. Price is probably appropriate, or will soon be. 2007 "Tache Le Verre" ($35): 100% Syrah. This combines the best of a classic Rhone Syrah with new world winemaking. My tasting notes say "Inky, a classic example of a Rhone-inspired Syrah." I think that sums it up. This bottle is definitely worth a purchase IMO. Thats all I got... read more

The perfect taste of "Paso" in a glass. From the moment I got there I was greeted warmly by the Cellar Club Manager, Ryan and the most adorable wine dog "Izzy". Every wine I tried I wanted to take home with me, so I joined their wine club to ensure I keep receiving their most current releases. They really focus on quality vs quantity. The grounds were beautiful and their bed and breakfast looks cozy and perfectly situated amongst the rolling hills of vineyards and oak trees. We were gettin off the beat n path when we drove upon this winery, a really good friend of mine told me of this place. He said they were putting out great wine and OMG he was spot on!! The girls there welcomed us with huge smiles( Shelly,Tawney ) and my dog Sunny also. The staff was as friendly as any winery we have visited. We have been going to Paso for 10 years and this winery has been added to our must visit list. If you're in the Paso wine area, Venteux Vineyards is a must. The beautiful property has a B&B that overlooks their small vineyard of Rhone varietals. The wine is spectacular! Their located somewhat "off the beaten path", which is great if you're looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy a pleasant tasting experience. We love the grounds of this winery! It's very kid friendly. They have basketball courts and plenty of green grass and hills for kids to run around. It's off the beaten path. I had been a club member of one of the other wineries in the area that started out doing just Rhone wines, however as time went on they moved further away from the Rhones that I originally joined them for. So we dropped them and went in search of another that had Rhones and was good quality. We found Venteux and haven't looked back since. They still do mostly Rhones but have a Cab also. All the wines are very good quality with lots of flavor and are very complex wines. And if you are a member of their wine club they have a pickup party for the wine twice a year that is not to be missed. They put on a great spread for the members to thank them and serve their wines to go along with it. We have been to quite a few of the parties and haven't had a bad time at any of them. And the food is always great. So if you are looking for a place to just have great wine or want to join their wine club with great Rhones then this is the place for you. read more

Lucky for them we had cash and hand sanitizer lol nice servers though flight was ten bucks all reds. She ended up pouring us everything she had open even a white blend.
