Massage tables in the private rooms are too narrow. I gave a try to this location a few days ago. Since I like to get massage naked, I could not use communal rool with comfy massage chairs and had to use a private room. $40.00 for 1 hour full body massage, which is still very reasonable. The masseuse was professional and could apply very strong pressure. There was however one problem which will stop me from return visit. I noticed that the massage table was narrower than other places and my arms could not rest properly. My hands were touching the floor instead of hanging on the side. This may not be a big deal to some. However, because I could not completely relax, the strong massage I received felt like a torture rather than a theraphy. Also because the table was narrow, the therapist had to twist my lower body like a sissors while supporting one of my leg with her leg. While she was applying pressure on my lower spine, one of my leg was not resting properly on the table. This actually left me with a lower back pain. I had to visit another Chinese massage place to get rid of my lower back pain following day. If you visit Venus Spa, I think you should use the comfy massage chairs in the communal room. The price $20.00 is hard to beat and I am sure, you will not have problem as I did. If you prefer private room, then I would recommend soft massage not strong & avoid contortions. read more

I decided to give Venus another try. And this time it's a better experience. The spa is very clean and organized. It doesn't make me feel awkward like other foot massage. What I like the most about Venus is I never have to make appointment or wait long for my massage. My masseur was really good this time. I can't remember her name. I really wanted to like this place. I made an appointment for a couples massage on my birthday with Larry and Kelly as it seemed they had positive reviews on here. I honestly feel like I paid $45 to get beat up. I was in so much pain after it was worst then before my massage. The massage was more like them putting lots of their body weight and applying pressure into my body then working out my kinks and knots. Larry was going so hard on my partner that he was tearing up and even though he was obviously in pain he felt that Larry was going even harder as if it was a joke. Their towels are also really really scratchy and irritated my face. They talked to each other a lot in Chinese while we were being "massaged". Even though the price is nice, you really get I think less than what you paid for. Even with my research and looking through recommendations. I don't think I can get a positive experience from this place. I have been here twice and each time I just felt sore and lots of pain. Will not be coming back. I've been a long time customer. This is a nice place to get a massage. Make sure to tell the front desk what kind of massage you are seeking(soft, medium,firm) they will pass on the message to the masseause. Also, wear clothes and shoes that are easy to get in and out of. If you find the massage too rough just let the messeuse know. They will accomadate. The staff is always friendly. Tipping $10 is standard but I always like to show my appreciation for the hard work they put into the craft and pay a little extra. Also, the private room for two is a great deal. read more

Shocked at my experience. I had been here a few times years ago and recall having a good experience. Clearly things have gone downhill. I visited today with a friend so requested a private room for her and I. We got a male and female masseuse. They seemed courteous in the beginning but as the massage started they started chatting back and forth. Initially whispering but then just lost all curtesy and were full on having a conversation in their language. Which as a customer just makes you think they are talking about you. Once the massage was done the male masseuse was respectful enough to walk out so we could put our shirts and bras back on but the woman just stood there staring. I was obviously not happy with the service I received so my tip reflected that. She then began to yell at me asking for more money and told me that I could pay with my credit card At the front desk. Appalled about the whole experience I of course addressed it with the front desk attendant. As I was doing so the woman masseuse started yelling at the front desk attendant about wanting more tip. The front desk attendant was embarrassed and apologetic about it but both my friend and I felt incredibly uncomfortable and needless to say probably will not return. read more

The entire staff is generally nice and friendly EXCEPT for the heavy set Asian lady at the front counter (RECEPTIONIST). She talks, looks, and acts "bitchy" to all customers. She does not even look at you when you check in. She definitely needs customer service training as soon as possible! She always gives you the dirty look as you leave the spa instead of saying thank you...come again...or something friendly. She comes across as very snobbish and bitchy. She must really hates her job. The other receptionist, Erica, on the other hand is super friendly and nice! I've been to this place about maybe five or six times. Let me start by saying that the massages are so great here! June is the best! I've only had her once but she is by far the best. I've had some other ladies, (Jessica?) twice and it was good but not as great as June's. There were only two times that I've come here that the service was eh. One time I came with my aunt, cousin, sister and mom, we booked a room for five. We drove about 40 minutes (give or take) for our service and needed to run to the bathroom before we were shown in and got nice and cozy for our massage. As we were coming back the two of the ladies started to speak in Chinese saying something about us running to the bathroom and was irritated by it. My aunt who was waiting for us quickly responded back in Chinese that they shouldn't talk about people behind their backs just because they think they their customers can't speak Chinese. She aid they were providing a service to their customers and it's rude that they trash talk. The shocked expression on their faces told us that they were completely embarrassed that that got caught. They immediately warn all the other therapists who came in to give us our service that we spoke Chinese so that they don't start their trash talking. Very funny. Other times they ask what nationality we are so that they can watch what they say. We tell them that we are Laotian but can understand a little Chinese so they are usually careful. Anyhow I gave this place 4 stars because the massage is great. I've never encountered a problem with the tip because I always give $10 for the massage. I figure it beats going to Burke Williams and paying $110 for a 50 minute massage when I can pay $30 for an hour. I'll go to BW for my facials. :) read more

Awesome! $20 for a Reflexology Massage! Its very nice and clean. Customer service was very good with me. This was my 1st experience with this style of massage. When I arrived the gentleman @ the front described the different packages etc. Asked if I wanted male or female. I told either/or. I'm comfortable with either especially since I like deep tissue, so I know men generally can give a stronger pressure. And a male masseuse is what I got. The guy who worked on me worked out my crazy knots! He had strong hands which knew where the massage was needed, and right when u felt like omg that was fantastic or no-more! (lol) he moved on & gently rubbed it out! Awesome! Also it was crazy to me because right when one section of your body was complete, your body sends a signal to another area saying "my turn!".. Well, another success! That's where the next focus was. I hope my next experience here will be as wonderful as this one. Cause I do know it depends on who you get as well. I don't like strangers touching me so I'm not a big massage person. My family loves this place though and so I always end up returning. The facility is okay - pretty clean and relaxing but has bright TVs in the dark rooms so seemed counterintuitive. They take appointments but I'm sure you can risk a walk in when it's not busy. The massages have all ranged from painfully strong to barely noticeable but you can request the strength adjustment. The lotions smell light and don't feel too sticky upon use. The oil massaging part is kind of gross. I don't like the oil all over and my favorite part is when they wipe it off with a hot towel. It's not exactly luxurious but it is relaxing to an extent. Sometimes you feel like you were pampered, other times you feel like you just got tenderized with a meat hammer. The 20$ per hour price tag easily dismisses any cons though. I'm usually a regular here, but my last visit was a bit more on the painful side. I believe I got Larry, and he was a bit aggressive in a sense he was rushing and kind of don't care. I don't mind a hard/aggressive massage when I'm in need of it, but I can sense when a masseuse isn't into helping his client feel better. Everything seems rushed and I didn't get the full experience that I'm use to. I did tip him more than I should, but maybe I should cut back on that if they are not going to treat their clients with more care. Price was amazing - 20 for a full-body. It's not a typical massage place where you take off your clothes and have your own room. It was one big room and you keep your clothes on. You get hot tea to start and they cover you in towels to keep you warm. You also get a nice warm foot bath and the The guy I got was referred to me by a friend. He was way too rough but in all the wrong ways. I like a slow and relaxing deep tissue. Im even okay with bruises the next day as long as my knots are dug into slowly. Although there were some relaxing parts of the massage, he was mostly rough and quick like he was on speed. He gave me some gnarly rug burns. I think I will just tell them what i am looking for next time and hopefully it will be better. My friend likes the rug burn guy so i think I just need to find someone that works for me. That night i felt like I was coming down with the flu. I think this was because I didn't have water after. They didn't offer any, but I should've stopped for some before running my errands. I typically go to more expensive spas but this was on par with those minus hot tubs, showed, etc. the massage therapist had just the right amount of pressure and got all the right spots. I'm not sure if it made it worse or not. Next day I had bruises all over my back and im aching on the part that he was pushing all his strength too. So if you like it hard :) ask for Larry lol. I made an appointment for a facial and a massage for 60 bucks. After my massage I was scared but still I got my facial done. I am glad that I did. The facial was so relaxing and Michelle which is the anesthetist kept me laughing the whole time. She is very professional and honest. I felt relaxed during my session and she also gave a neck, shoulder, and head massage during the process. I felt really good after. So if you need or just want to get a facial ask for Michelle. Not too hard but hitting the right places very accurately on the pressure points. I measure my massage session by if I fall asleep or not thus the 4 star. My neck/shoulders/back have been in such pain lately, I decided to treat myself to a $25 massage. I was able to call in the afternoon and book my appt for after work around 7 on a Saturday night. I was paired with a nice woman named Wendy. She knew exactly where my knots were and where I needed kneading more. It wasn't fall asleep good, but it was just what I needed for my aches. I felt a lot looser afterwards. Every masseuse goes through the usual routine. I would probably skip the scalp massage next time cuz. I never like it but I never speak up about it either. I usually tip at least 10. any less is kind of sad for all the work they do for you. They play weird nature videos with serene back ground noise. The masseuses don't talk to each other too much here. I get more bothered by the loud patrons who are coming or going. They have no sense of volume and speak to each other at quite annoying decibels. I would like to see some "quiet please" signs posted so patrons would just leave after they're done. read more

I have been to Greenland and Venus about 10 times now and I have to say they give amazing massages. This new location is much nicer and feels a bit cleaner. I do have to note that I went there this past Sunday and got a massage from Amy. NEVER again will I go to her. She was extremely rude, she skipped a ton of things that all the others do (the hand and leg wiggling/reflexology and the face massage) and she ripped my tip to her out of my hands. I had to ask her a few times to do what is normally done and she gave me attitude then proceeded to massage me as if she was in a hurry. She was very inconsistent with her techniques on each side of my body and left me feeling more tense, annoying and unrelaxed than I did before I walked in there. Besides this last horrible experience I had, I have to say this place really is awesome for the price! read more

We are Venus regular customers but extremely disappointed with yesterday massage. My husband and I booked for 90mins massage. My husband had male therapist and he was happy with him but I had a female named Ada and usually female therapists are OK, it's a hit and miss but not extremely terrible as mine yesterday. Ada was ok for first 10mins while sitting, but the part when I lied down--she basically didn't do much with massaging at all. She pressed down on one spot and held it for mins and then moved to next spot, held for mins and kept repeating the whole time I was lying down (45mins)--NO actually massage, nothing!! She was trying to kill time by just pressed on one spot and held it there. I paid for 90mins to get more massage, not less!!! It took her forever to go get wet towels. I complained and explained in details the experience to Rosa (front receptionist) because the owner wasn't there and it appeared that she never relayed my complaint to her owner because I haven't received any call from their office. Obviously, they didn't really care about customer service/satisfaction. I probably would never book 90mins again because with longer time--they charge you extra and high tips included (Ada didn't deserve the high tips included) for this service but the therapist just tried to kill time instead of giving appropriate massages time that you paid for. Service was ok- it wasn't that bad- the thing that really turned me off is when I gave a tip to the lady that did the massage at the end- gave her $5 that is more that 15 percent of the general tips and she asked me- just $5? I asked her three times kindly to massage a little harder and to shut me up, they switched to a different lady aka incredible hulk and she almost broke me to pieces. Very different to say the least lol - was walked into an open shared room from what it looked like and my masseuse (Lilly) was wonderful, a little rough at times but I really need it with all the kinks and knots I had built up in my neck, back and shoulders. Was given some hot tea prior to my session began and it was good. Just not used to partially undressing in an open shared room before, but you are covered during the process. Not only did my "masseuse" have a terrible cold which resulted in him breathing and sneezing all over me, but he was beyond rude and lacked any skill in massage therapy. I couldn't wait for the massage to end and when it did, I barely had time to gather my belongings before he yelled at me for a tip. Even with the awful service I handed him what I felt was appropriate and he proceeded to tell me to follow him as he marched up to the front desk - to probably have someone translate that he demanded more. Then they wrap you up tight with towels and uncover the spots they focus on. All the knots were taken out of my back and I've never felt so relaxed!
