I havent had the chance to write a review since my wedding here (about 2 years ago) but never too late! I absolutely LOVE the venue. It was perfect for my wedding. Karen the coordinator was the best- she was wonderful to work with. I love that the venue did everything for me and I just had to bring everything the day before. I didnt need to find helpers to help decorate or set up tables. The food is just delicious and I was so impressed during the tasting and previous meals here that I just had to have my wedding here. Many people who attended my wedding complimented me on the food! The best part was the drinks! I love the top shelf bar and the options have have like martini bar and champagne! Their beautiful fountain at the grand entrance is perfect for photos. I cant say enough how happy I was that I chose this place for my wedding :) read more

I thought this food was going to taste WAY better than it did because the outside and inside decor is quite beautiful. However, I was disappointed with the lunch options. My cousin had their wedding on 4/11. Our families had a great time! The staff was very accommodating, esp families with kids. The food was great and perfectly cooked, we were able to choose from 4-5 dishes and my table had one of each.The venue itself was beautiful and big. Absolute 10/10 would recommend hosting your wedding at Venuti's! The owner, Frank, and our coordinator, Karen, went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was an absolute success. Like most couples this year, our originally planned 2020 wedding was cancelled. The Venuti's team stepped in and saved both our Wedding Day and Rehearsal Dinner. The attention to detail, thoroughness, professionalism and level of fun they brought helped us to be able to take a deep breath and know that this time everything will work out. The venue itself was not only beautiful, but so clean. Truly, the utmost safety and cleanliness measures are in place throughout. The food was out of this world -- we opted for the 'Guest Choice' entrée option including a 12oz Filet Mignon, Chicken Franchese, and Orange Roughy. Guests loved having the ability to choose the entrée day of. We received nothing but compliments on the entire meal though -- you have to get the Ziti with Vodka Sauce too! I can't speak highly enough of our experience and everyone we encountered there. After all the stressors this year brought us, it was amazing to still be able to have the wedding of our dreams thanks to the Venuti's team! Great food and great environment. Vlounge is a fun time. However, the last 2-times Tony Ocean and his band played, they were obnoxiously loud. They weren't really singing, it was more like yelling into the microphones. My wife and I asked the waitress, both times, if they can dial it down a little. She said it's up to the band. The bsnd did not. Both times we left early. The other bands who play their are fine. Pass on Venutis when Tony Ocean and his band are playing unless you bring hearing protection. read more

Took our parents here for Sunday brunch. Not our first visit. The manager was accommodating regarding where we sat as a medium sized group. We were looking forward to the experience based on prior visits. However, by early afternoon, the food on the brunch buffet was getting cold and dry. Maybe this impacted the taste of all of the dishes which was just "okay". Desserts were very limited and nothing you would expect from an establishment like this, no tiramisu or cannoli...very cute, but tasteless. Our waiter was a nice enough man but not attentive at all. We had to remind him to serve coffee. On top of the cost of the mediocre service and spread, the restaurant adds a 20% gratuity for a BRUNCH (i.e. self serve affair). Not a customer friendly concept. We may give this place one more chance with the hope that it lives up to it's self-concept, cost, and reputation. read more

The food is excellent. My wife loves the lasagna and I had the Filet which was cooked perfectly and just as good as the big steak houses. I'm in love with the grilled octopus appetizer. My father was excited to see Tripe on the menu. Just like his mother used to make. We ate in the lounge and had excellent service. This is my favorite Italian restaurant. read more

Had our monthly group of 12 and the food was DELICIOUS. It was buffet...One BIG COMPLAINT. They did not give separate checks. We have been going out for over 2 years for monthly lunches and NEVER have we not been able to get separate checks. I've signed up here at Yelp just to add a review fir this Family run restaurant! It is worth a drive from Naperville or most of Chicago. My favorite is any Italian on the menu; but their fresh-from-scratch with fresh toppings PIZZA is outstanding! The pizza dough is made daily(from scratch, naturally) & is delicious enough to eat alone: We never even have any crusts left. The Lake street location is expanded and keeps most of the menu items coming, so the western suburbs are going to continue to have really great Italian restaurant in the old world tradition. I love this place! They make their own pasta right on the premises, too. Where can you find that? There was a good variety of delicious sounding pasta sauces. I had the puttanesca sauce on a side dish of fettuccini. My wife had farfalle (bowtie) with vodka sauce. Both were excellent. I had the stuffed veal chop as my main entre. It was outstanding, stuffed with sauted spinach and roasted red peppers finished with melted provolone on top. Extremely good and perfectly cooked. My wife had the red snapper. Cooked whole and deboned at the table, I was surprised how juice and delicious it was. Desert choices were gorgeous and too hard to choose from. My wife was too full for desert, but I had an ice cream and fresh espresso dish that was too good for words. Service was outstanding. We had a middle aged man with an accent, who really made us feel special. All the waiters looked professional and seemed to give excellent service. I highly recommend Venuti's. Give it a try. I had my wedding here on 11/3/12 and I can't even begin to say how amazing everything was! It was better than I could have ever imagined. We had the Verona room and it looked outstanding. I was off taking photos, but I heard the appetizers were to die for, especially the shrimp cocktail.The martini/champagne bar was as hit too! The wait staff was on the money with service. All of my guest were raving about how they didn't even have to get up to get a drink! The food was delicious! AND the top shelf alcohol is the best and the fact that the bar doesn't shut down during dinner is a major bonus! It was just BEAUTIFUL all in all!! This place is beautiful, a much needed type of venue in the northwest suburbs. It's nice that it attracts and "adult" demographic and not a bunch of college kids looking to get drunk. I've only visited on the weekends looking for a nice place to dance the night and have a decent drink. Drinks you can count on but the music could use a much needed change in style (or dj with better taste). The only dance area is a tinny space, easily crowds to the point almost impossible to move. Question to the owner: why not open the other banquet rooms for dancing?... nicer music and better dance floor might just skyrocket your place. read more

Full disclosure: I am a specialty contractor from MD hired to revamp some equipment at Venuti's. Mr. Venuti paid me to come to Chicago to keep the equipment functional yet, he was insistent to feed me while I was there. The lunch buffet was wonderful! Everything I sampled was fresh and homemade tasting. The penne pasta in vodka sauce was exceptional. My work has allowed me to go to some of the finest restaurants in the country and I would put the food at Venuti's right up there! Beside the food, the facility is a great place for that special occasion such as a wedding or graduation. Will definitely go back on my own time. read more

Totally unimpressed. Looks are very deceiving. The building is great, but the food, not so great. They seem to focus more on quantity rather than quality. I went there for Easter brunch, and they ran out of food! After I waited for some of there entrees', I thought I was in for a treat, NOT SO! My stomach was upset the rest of the day. My family were also unimpressed. How does a restaurant run out of basic choices such as chocolate and vanilla ice cream? I will not go back there for brunch. They were unorganized and unprepared. I love this Place. I had a bachelorette party there a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and it could not have been better. the Music was AWESOME!! they have this Old School Saturdays DJ that was there and he was great. I forgot the name after all the cocktails. I had read some comments before going and although there were some italian men there. there were no complaints from me. It is a great looking crowd and the Staff there is Phenomenal. The comment i read that said Greasballs or jersey shore was most likely left by someone that like to go out in sweatpants and gym shoes. We had our Host Manny that helped us set up the Party and made sure we had a great time. He also brought out a Tiramasu for our bachelorette. Rude Rude Rude. I hosted my engagement party in the bar at Venuti's. My fiance was in contact with the owner, Frank, no less than 3 times to confirm we would have tables reserved for 20. We were informed we would have 2 four foot tables to seat 20. When we arrived, the reserved sign noted "reserved for 20" but we were provided with 2 small tables that sit 3 each. When I explained to them (and pointed to our reserved sign noting party of 20), were told the 2 tables were more than sufficient. A direct quote "As a rule of thumb, we use 1 table top for every 10 people". (even though only 3 chairs fit around such a small table. When my party arrived, we were told we were taking up too much room and we were not allowed to sit at the bar. After talking to the waitress (rude), the manager (rude), the owners sister (rude), then Frank himself (rude) we were finally provided an additional table which allowed for room for 10. Several times during the nite we were told they would have to remove the additional table but my party argued for us to keep it. The party was a success but with no thanks to the unbelievably rude staff, management, and owners. Even though the food and ambiance was great, the unbelievable unprofessional ism was a turn off and we will never return. And also do not recommend booking any large parties outside the banquet rooms, as they are unable to accommodate. read more

I was very dissapointed in the entrees and the service. We went on a Saturday night, November 17th and my wife ordered the special, risotto & shirmp. the rosotto was lousy, it had no flavor and just was not enjoyable. The veggies jsut as bad. I had a ravioli with the marinara sauce. The sauce was some of the worst I have ever had. As for the service, the waiter read the special to us and when we received it it was not what he explained. I appraoched him and said this is not what you told us. He said, I read it wrong and walked away. Never asked if we would like something else or how is it. After we paid the check he never even said thank you have a nice evening ect... We may never go back... read more

Atmosphere feels more like a banquet hall but the pasta was phenomenal. For any one that is interested in retro music, every Saturday they have a DJ in the bar area and that is very fun. A very cool throw back that included all ages. :-) I've been there a several times now and always enjoyed it. Have been coming here since they opened, and it just keeps getting better each time. The Food is Very Good. Fresh Pasta made in house, it does not get better than this. If you don't see it on the menu, don't be afraid to ask, they aim to please every request. The owners know what it means to service the customer. Love the half price Apps at the Bar. This place sees a lot of action between the V-Lounge and the Restaurant and the Banquets. The place is starting to show some ware and tare, a few burnt out lights and sink in the bathroom not working and doors to the stalls don't lock. but that does not affect the quality of the food or the exceptional service you get. read more

Have been there for Easter brunch. Food not too good, and the service terrible. At the end they charged us for two extra people. When we pointed that to the manager, they (waitress and two managers) were very rude, told me that the kids were touching couches with dirty hands and that I should pay for the couches. Insane. I live in Buffalo Grove, so not very close...but I can tell you this: can't wait to come back! I'v been working in the food industry for over 20 years and when I first came here, I was overwhelmed by the size of this venue. Despite the size, this place runs like a well-oiled machine. THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. What people are missing is the amazing lunch buffet. The selection is fresh, varied, beautiful, and delicious. More to the point, the menu is truly Italian. The vegetables, salads, pastas, and entrees are an absolute delight. In regards to service: fantastic. I can't wait to return with family and friends for dinner, weekend brunch, etc. . I feel so welcome here, and the ambience is beautiful and comfortable. Keep doing what you're doing, Venuti's. You have got it just right. Horrible service. I went here for my friend's baby shower and the service was horrible. Firstly, the area where the baby was hosted was extremely hot for an indoor area. It was mentioned to various employees and the owner, who said either the air conditioning wasn't working or that it was our fault for opening the doors (which we hadn't even done). Secondly, the men that were attending the baby shower were planning to sit at the bar, however, we were told that another party had reserved the bar and our guests would have to go to a sports bar across the street if there wasn't room at the tables for them. Lastly, the service was horrible. We had to ASK to get drinks or refills on water or to have our dirty plates taken away. For the amount of money, time, and planning that went into this event, I would have expected a much better and attentive experience. I was highly disappointed and will never go back to this place again. IF YOU ARE PLANNING AN EVENT, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE AS THE VENUE TO HOST YOUR EVENT. For the amount of money you will spend, there are many better options to host an event. SO YOU THINK THAT YOUR CUSTOMERS SHOULD PAY FOR THE GUYS "PER PERSON" TO EAT YOUR LUKEWARM BUFFET AND THEN TELL THEM TO GO ACROSS THE STREET AND SPEND MONEY AT ANOTHER BAR!? WOW THAT IS A VERY SMART BUSINESS PLAN!! A BUSINESSMAN WOULD NOT WANT TO LET A CUSTOMER LEAVE WHEN HE/SHE IS SPENDING MONEY AT THE THEIR BAR! Maybe you are making too much money and can afford to do that!? This baby shower was booked over 4 months in advance and YOUR staff said no problem for the 5-6 guys to sit at bar as the LAST baby shower we had at your establishment. Your staff made the grandmother about cry. And that's only one of the issues, there are way more. Don't worry. We will not be coming back. read more

First and foremost let me say the place is amazingly gorgeous! Spacious beautiful ! The taste testing of the food prior to booking them to die for! The entire family was so impressed words could not describe. My cousin got married there and of course this place is the perfect place for wedding/ reception for a wedding ! The day of the wedding was another story .............. not enough chairs in the wedding hall at least 15 of us stood in the hallway .......... The food - Steak was over cooked and very fatty the chicken although in the taste testing was to die for was mushy....... you either liked it or your didn't............ The service we hurried to wait .... and then waited to hurry ....... for example ........... the soup came ...... before everyone could even taste it they were asking if they could take it away. Then about 20 mins. later the next course came when we didn't get to finish the 1st. and so on and so forth................... Cutting the cake ................. it was beautiful watching but ....... where did the cake go ?? no one got a piece where did they put the pieces of cut cake that my cousin paid for? Also. By not supplying the same quality food that they showcased in the taste testing wouldn't this be considered false representation. Because of all these reasons I am very disappointed that for good monies and a beautiful place the food and service weren't better and done as promised when booking. read more

I recently had my wedding here in November of 2017 and it was a TOTAL FIVE STAR experience. Karen is a phenomenal banquet manager and knows the ins and outs of their business. The food was amazing and I highly recommend the duo plate choice of filet and chicken. They let you do specialty martinis at no extra charge and are truly the nicest bartenders. I would recommend this venue 1,000 times over and over again. read more

I have not experienced discrimination ever in my life until yesterday 01/17/15. I had scheduled an appointment to view this venue and was very excited to get there and see what they had to offer. All that exciment came to an end once we met Pat the consultant in charge of my appointment. I had with me my fiancé and both of our parents my maid of honor and my son. As soon as he saw how many of us he made a face which I let slide. The reception venue entrance is very gorgeous but the actual reception room itself was nothing special. Pat seemed like he was in a hurry and didn't explain much of each room except to make sure that I was aware that there was a 6000.00 difference between the two rooms. Once we were done viewing which literally took less then five minutes we got back to the entrance and Pat asked if I had any questions and I said yes what are your packages like? He then proceeds to hand me a folder and says everything is there. He didn't even sit us down to explain the packages to us nor care to take our information down. It seemed because we were Hispanic and our parents were speaking Spanish he became annoyed and didn't even take us seriously. My fiancé and I became upset and I said out loud to make sure he heard me that he was rude. I became soo mad that I threw the folder on the ground in the parking lot. I just couldn't believe that they allow people like that to work for places like this. Glad to take my business else where. Ps will def be getting in contact with the owners. read more

Very disappointing experience. First time customer in the restaurant. Sparse crowd for a Friday night around 7pm. Food and service were good. Felt generous and left a $20 cash tip on a $78 bill (paid by credit card). When we were getting in to our car to leave, our waiter chased us down in the parking lot accusing us of not leaving a tip. Who does that? Felt like we were on Mystery Diners. Not sure what happened to the $20 bill we left in the bill jacket. The waiter was so intimidating and in your face in the parking lot, my husband handed him another $20 just to get away from the drama. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

Went there for dinner last night. I ordered the Branzino (sea bass) dinner off the specials menu. There was no price listing for any of the items on this special menu (which was really just a slip of paper). My husband and the other couple we were with all ordered off the regular menu. My husband had a veal dish and my friend had shrimp scampi. Since their meals were all in the $20 -$25 dollar range, I did not think mine would be much over that. The description of my sea bass said it was done in a light cream vodka sauce and topped with shrimp, served with asparagus and risotto. When my plate came it was almost entirely covered with risotto, and I had to push it aside to find the tiny piece of fish under it which had been topped with one small shrimp. When the bill came I was shocked to find out the price of my meal was $39.95. My friend's shrimp scampi had 5 shrimp - it was supposed to be a dinner but was appetizer size. (her and I are not big women, we are used to taking home a doggie bag of what we cannot finish in Italian restaurants as often portions are big). My husband's veal dish was quite big, but it was definitely stuffed with ham, not prosciutto as the waiter had told us. No one (not our waiter nor the host ever asked how are meals were - otherwise I could have told them in person). read more
