Due to the time of not being able to go into the place and have the full experience and wanting to help local businesses we thought we would try Verde for the first time. When we got our food it was very cold and our $6 queso we ordered was half gone and had spilled all over the delivery bag and to go containers. Amazing menu! Creative recipes!! Was in town for Farm Aid 2023 and happened across this restaurant. Service was impeccable and staff was friendly. Prices were really reasonable. Verde is on rotation of restaurants we keep on our back pocket when we cannot decide where to go. The menu is incredibly deep and not your typical fare. Don't get me wrong, you can have your tacos. You can also have your tacos with grasshoppers, octopus, or quesobirra which is a delicious concoction of beef & cheese. Margaritas are delicious and 1 is enough for most people. This was some of the nastiest Mexican I've ever had. Chips were from a bag they picked up at the grocery, the guacamole was old as was the steak. I had the combo fajitas that had no flavor! By the time we got our cheese dip it was hard as a rock. We also did not get our complete order. Wife also got a fish taco in her meal that she did not order. This was an Uber delivery but it wasn't their fault. This restaurant is horrible! Do NOT eat here no matter what! Worried we are going to have food poisoning. I really liked that the menu had color pictures of their specialty meals, the pictures of the octopus dish and the whole snapper sold us and I'm so glad we ordered them! Started with the fish ceviche and it was BEAUTIFUL, fresh and delicious and the presentation was stunning! We then got the octopus and snapper, they were as beautiful as they were delicious iu, honestly can't get over the presentation. The flowers were a nice touch. They let me do extra vegetables instead of rice (low carb), and they were some of the most delicious veggies I've had in awhile, well cooked and the olives worked so well with the vegetables, I'm going to try that at home when I cook now. The snapper was HUGE and so delicious, we had enough leftovers for 3+ more meals after. The octopus was incredibly well cooked, which is hard to do, and weirdly enough it was amazing the next day too (we had a lot of food so there were a lot of leftovers)! Amazing food, the next time we are in town we are absolutely going back! The only thing sub par was the "spicy" margarita wasn't spicy at all, I politely asked for them to add more jalapeños but it still wasn't spicy at all, however I like really spicy drinks so that happens a lot at most restaurants lol. read more

Small place with a lot of seating but even with a packed house and everyone talking it was not hard to hold a conversation with the people at your table. The salsa was okay not flavorful but any measure but you could taste the grilled veggies in it. The chips are made in house and that's a huge plus! I got the chicken cheese and rice plate and the rice was flavorless and the chicken unseasoned but with some melted cheese on it and some warm flour tortillas it was acceptable. My date had the steak quesadilla it was more of a burrito but she liked it none the less. The menu was not gigantic for a Mexican cuisine place which was very nice to see. The large iron works of art On the wall are a nice touch but do make the place feel small with its size. I'll start this review by saying for the first time in my life the dishes served to me matched the picture on the menu. But that is just the start.. My fella and I came here after he had a pretty bad day at work expecting sub par Mexican food and sub par service but what came pleasantly surprised us in all the best ways. Our server Jose X was AMAZING. He was exceedingly attentive and after letting him know it was our first time told us the cool story about how the menu came to be and a description of the things on the menu plus what many people order. His insights brought us to get the Steak Tacos (AMAZINGLY SEASONED) which later on when we told him that he let us know that they seasoned them with a chimichura sauce while the meat was cooking- cool to know and I got a fajita burrito also very delicious. The moral of the story here is that not only does this place have EXCEPTIONAL food their service and atmosphere is unmatched. My camera quality does not do this food justice I must say. Also I would like to say to the review that was one star- not to say that you're opinion is wrong but let's face it sweetie you can't walk in somewhere right when their about to close and expect 10/10 service when they opened the kitchen back up FOR YOU. We dined at Verde this evening. Verde bought out Friaco's.. there was a 1.5 hour wait since it was Cinco De Mayo. They immediately greeted us with chips and salsa once seated. I loved that all the severs worked together so it wasn't a hassle getting water refills, napkins or assistance. Truthfully, I wasn't sure who are server was until we got the bill. Speaking of, we showed them our coupon from Coupon Indy, but they said they don't take digital coupons even though everything is done via hand held devices. I also did my YELP check in to get house dip, which was just a verde salsa, not Guacamole or queso. The food was flavorful. I got shrimp tacos which was good and guacamole, it was amazing. We had no wait (did go around 5 pm on New Years) and chips and salsa were at our table right after being seated. The queso was delicious and also served within seconds after ordering & still hot and fresh. I ordered the fajitas which were on special - not sure if this was a Monday thing or just for New Years. The portions were huge and I had plenty to take home. I don't like beans and they were fine to substitute that for double rice. Excellent Across the Board I had heard from friends that the food and drinks were good. I have to top that and say that the experience was exceptional from beginning to end. The hostess greeted me and promptly seated me before I could bat an eye; there was a very kind gentleman at my table with hot chips and fresh salsa. You could taste the freshness in the salsa, it was unbelievable. I added a side of queso, and that was the icing on the cake. I am always very particular about the queso in any Mexican restaurant. I had the skirt steak quesadilla & Verde's Barrel Select Margarita. The drink was huge as well as the food portions, I took some home for leftovers. I found out during my visit that Verde has its own branded Patron, and it was smooth. I would recommend and definitely will return and bring friends with me. My husband wanted to go out to a Mexican Restaurant, so being the Yelper in the family I started the search. We decided to check out Verde because it was convenient and the pictures looked pretty decent. Sometimes the pictures don't do justice or the pictures look like they were "catfished." We got there a little after 5pm on a Thursday which was the perfect time to beat the dinner crowd. I ordered the shredded chicken chimichanga and the hubby got the enchiladas mole. I took a pic of my meal, but did not take one of my hubby's. We nibbled on the fresh chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the salsa was very fresh tasting. FYI if you like hot salsa, the salsa is not very hot. Maybe a little spicy, so I asked our waitress if they had a hot salsa. They do and it's the tomatillo salsa. I know its extra, but can't remember how much. It's very hot, but we like our salsa hot. We almost ate too much of the chips and salsa, but left room for our dinners. We both really enjoyed our dinners. My hubby ate all of his dinner, but I had to box the rest of mine for tomorrow. The chimichanga had lots of shredded chicken inside, and it's a large size. You also get avocado slices, pico de gallo, lettuce, refried beans, rice, queso and sour cream drizzled on it...whew! All of the employees were so friendly and helpful! We most definitely will return soon when we have a craving for some really authentic tasting Mexican Food. It probably will be sooner than later. We finished up dinner with some churro's which were also very tasty. We will definitely be back. #tasty Wow this place really took a turn for the worse. Every time we went here the food was amazing the service was great. This time not so much. The menu has completely changed for the worse. They have doubled their food prices now you're going have to spend at least $30 to eat there and that's without a drink or an appetizer. The circular design of the space brings the whole dining room together, but it was freezing in there. Because it's circular, when the door is opened, the draft flies around the entire circle of the room. The queso dip and chips were OK. The gringo tacos we OK. My dining partners carnitas taco was excellent in her opinion, add the coffee was pretty good. The flan was just OK. The flavor was nothing great, and the texture was not smooth. This place is small, but very cute and a fun atmosphere. There was a 15 minute wait during the Friday dinner rush, but we were seated pretty quickly and chips and salsa were brought out immediately. The staff was friendly and helpful and were quick to refill our drinks :). Everything tasted very fresh and authentic! The corn tortillas were soft and homemade. This isn't the first time we have had problems with Verde. I have given this restaurant a few too many chances. It's a waste of your money. Do yourself a favor and spend it at another Mexican restaurant. The food is continually underwhelming and NOT as described on the menu. I will post pictures of the menu with the description and pictures of the actual food I received tonight. Each time me and my family have ordered from Verde, the food is either soggy or just bland. I feel like they try to make the food as cheap as possible while lacking on quality. Last time my husband ordered the Elote in which they used canned corn, not fresh or even frozen. Tonight I ordered the street tacos, nothing too elaborate, and they are terrible. The menu states "shredded chicken, family recipe morita salsa, garnished with cilantro, queso Fresca and crema." What I received was 3 soggy tortilla shells with chicken and I guess the crema? Also, the rice they use is the generic crap with peas and carrots, yuck. read more

Great change of pace trip here... we've typically gone elsewhere, but decided after reading some Yelp! reviews to drop in for dinner. It wasn't too difficult to get a table at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Our service was good overall too. The street tacos were pretty good. They seem to use good ingredients and you could actually taste the flavor of the meat vs some others places that have food either overly oily or sodium...
