I normally love chicken salad chick. But I've had a really crappy work week and all I wanted was some reliable, yummy chicken salad chick, and I was just disappointed. I ordered online and showed up to pick up 20 minutes later. They told me they didn't have an order from me. Then after checking multiple times, they said it was payment failure and to order again. My card is working just fine, so I'm guessing it's the app. Because it's also not showing their cookies/cake/soda options when they had plenty. I went to order again at the register, and I hear them say they're out of like 6 salad types. One of which I ordered online for my sandwich. I ended up moving to the back of the line to order all over again :( I got to the register and ordered, but couldn't redeem my small quick chick because they didn't have enough Dixie chick for that either. No problems with my card this time. I ordered a bacon cheddar melt and to my disappointment, my sandwich isn't even warmed. The cheese is cold and like it came straight out of the fridge. Further, CSC has been able to standardize and mass produce their winning formula in different states. Service is always friendly and QSR style. Dining room is designed to look/feel like a home. Yes, we're big CSC fans. We love the basil and jalapeño flavors the best. Both are perfect and compliment each other. This place is hugely overrated. Nice people serving but we ordered two sandwiches to go, it took about 15-20 min to get our order. Both the croissant and white bread were stale, to the point where I ended up just eating the filling and leaving the croissant. The chicken is shredded, and the chicken salad is mostly chicken - not too much mayo. We tried the original and lemon-basil chicken salad. Both tasted good. Chicken Salad Chick is one of my wife and daughter's favorite restaurants, so I agreed to go there for lunch with them yesterday while we were out in Mt. Pleasant. We had the Buffalo Barclay, Kickin' Kay Lynne, Sassy Scotty, and Fancy Nancy scoops; all of which were pretty good. My favorite was the Buffalo Barclay, it had the most seasoning and taste out of the four scoops. My least favorite (but still good) was the Sassy Scotty, it was just lacking the flavor I desired. We also had the Broccoli Salad which I have enjoyed at other Chicken Salad Chick locations before, but here it was rather bland. Service here was great. I literally crave Chicken Salad Chick especially now that I live somewhere that does not have it! When I visit family in Charleston I always frequent this location to get my fix. This time around I bought three of the to go containers for a family picnic. The flavor was spot on, but the meat just wasn't as shredded and a few times it was chewy/fat. The quality just wasn't there and that made me sad! I have never had any issues with this location, but that really was a disappointment. You can order chicken salad prepackaged in a container and take it home to eat for a week or serve at a shower or luncheon. Chicken salad can come on a sandwich or croissant or on greens. You can get anywhere from one to three scoops. You can try every flavor before making a choice. My favorites are the BBQ, fancy Nancy, and cranberry kelly, but they're honestly all good. Tough rubbery pieces of gristle should not be in the chicken salad and is very unappetizing.
