Where do I begin? The Drs and the staff members of Vergi saved the life of our sweet Chloe. Chloe was hit by a car and suffered internal bruising of her abdomen, lungs,and a severely fractured femur. She wasn't able to breathe on her own for the first couple of days. The care that she received here was amazing. We don't have pet insurance so you can imagine how expensive her medical bills were... But you know what?!?! It is worth Every.Single.Penny. The price of the livelihood of your pet (family member) is priceless... Thank you Dr Merren, Dr Seeley, Stephanie (both times you were there when we visited... I just want to say how appreciative I am of the level of care they provided my dog while he was there. The front desk people are definitely their weak point. Not super friendly. But the doctors there ... awesome. Dr. Ron! I highly recommend her. She was soooo wonderful. She provided such great knowledge and insight and left me feeling comfortable and secure in leaving my dog in her hands. This place is expensive but it's like an emergency room for pets. So it's expected. Dr. Ron took such great care of my chocolate lab. They even clipped his nails while they were doing the sutures. It's just the little things (and big things) that made my experience so great. Highly recommend. Especially if you get Dr. Ron. read more

FABULOUS hospital. I would recommend Vergi at i10 between Campbell and Voss for anyone going thru any kind of emergency or ICU situation. I absolutely abhor The other Galleria area hospital's Emergency Room. I have since had to visit the other hospital to see a great specialist there for my dog, Cody's severe and life threatening illness (and I do absolutely love that doctor), but for ER and general ICU issues, Vergi is the place to be. I'd send anyone to them! The Vergi doctors called me every 4 to 6 hours, throughout the day and night while my dog was in ICU for 50+ hours, as I requested. I didn't want him to start a downward spiral and me not be there, so of course they called if any of his numbers went down. He basically had to have a specific blood test every 4 to 6 hours to make sure his red blood cell values were not declining. But they also called, when they were able, to tell me positive test result news (with the understanding that this is an emergency hospital and emergencies take precedence over calling me for positive information). They recorded my boy, who was just diagnosed with IMHA (a mostly fatal autoimmune disorder), barking and played it for me over the phone, they offered multiple times to Facetime with him when I could not be there in person outside of visiting hours or when I had to be at work. The staff sat with me when I visited (when they were not busy with emergencies) and they cried with me when I told little anecdotal stories about his personality quirks. They also told me anecdotal stories about funny things he was doing I when could not be there, including about how he tried to bite the one vet tech he didn't care for (and Cody LOVES ALL people). But apparently he has developed a dislike for the one vet tech who got the unlucky job of taking his rectal temperature every five minutes during his blood transfusion. I suppose no one would love that unfortunate experience. I cant say I blame him. Cody is not out of the woods yet but my baby came home about 10 days ago and is still fighting hard. We visit Vergi every 72 hours or so for the blood test he needs to monitor his progress and those numbers are creeping up ever so slowly. I owe this 100% to the skill, diligence and level of care he received at Vergi during those very critical first 50+ hours of his diagnosis. I hope to not need them ever again but if I do, I will not hesitate to get there immediately! read more

I rushed my golden retriever to Vergi 24/7 and she was diagnosed with an obstruction. They did a total workup and surgery. She was home in 3 days and totally back to normal in 5 days. As a breeder I highly recommend this clinic for it's professionalism, caring and excellent work! read more

Place was empty and no other patients present and refused to give me my greyhound back for hours. Eventually called 911 to force them to release my pet. The staff at Vergi took such good care of my sweet little dog Mulligan when he was diagnosed with IVDD. Everyone was informative and left no questions unanswered. After having taken him to a different vet on 3 separate occasions and not getting an accurate diagnosis for Mulligan's symptoms I took him to Vergi. They took myself and his symptoms very seriously and got him the care that he needed and deserved. It was expensive but I wouldn't expect it not to be. Thank you Vergi for taking care of my dog and for helping me through the emotional roller coaster this has been. I would have to agree with Danielle. I was just at this emergency hospital this past weekend for Labor Day. I have to say I have NEVER seen such an organized business. There were many sick and badly hurt animals that came through while I was waiting to be seen. The staff were able to manage the pets, people and the stress with such professionalism. After talking with some of the staff, I realized that the staff were working when the rest of the world is spending time with their families. The staff at VERGI are truely dedicated. I am so grateful to everyone that took care of my little critter family member over the weekend. read more

I took my puppy in because he was coughing up mucus yellow in color. I'm a new pet owner so naturally I was scared for my pup. The doctor, without taking him temp, said he thought it was distemper or pneumonia bc his lungs sounded "bad." He wanted to aggressively treat it. The quote was $1700 !! I asked what I could do until Monday to keep him well, the doctor said that "these viruses take little dogs pretty quickly." I insisted on something other than hospitalization. They wrote another quote which was for antibiotics and cough suppressant, $400. I got the meds and on Monday went to the vet. The vet said that his lungs were clear and I had to just make sure the pup was eating and drinking normally, which he is. Then the vet said that he's seen a lot of unnecessary hospitalization a from this place. They tend to find the worse case scenario to scare you without little knowledge before diagnosing. If your dog is super ill than this may be an option but if you can wait... Wait and go to the vet. They are in the business of making money over treating patients. Girl with purple hair and bulging eyes working front desk was as nasty and rude as a human can be. Told her I got you and held my phone and that I was going to file a complaint and she told staff I threaten her life. It began when she got rude with us when we didn't want to sign a form authorizing $650 for pre examine for our animal. This woman has issue and extreme paranoia. Update: To add insult to injury, they called the police on my wife and I for the above. We initially came here because our dog is critically injured from another dog. Update 2: Our dog needs a few stitches. The vet asked us if we want to take our dog elsewhere for treatment??? The issue is not with the Vet, it's with the psycho behind the counter. Waiting on price...., And the verdict is: Just under $1,200 for examine, X-rays, stitches and overnight stay. Pick her up in the morning. .... read more

Sadly my 9 year old husky Kayser got very ill on Friday after taking him to my vet he saw he was very weak and had anemia and suggested we put him down as of he was suffering not being himself because the only thing we could do was a transfusion which we could not afford we were to selfish to think that with medicines the vet had prescribed, love and care he had a chance to recover we got past through this together. after caring for him Friday and Saturday unfortunately he started vomiting all food and medicines we had given to him and wasn't able to walk no more. our vet does not open on Sunday and since we are new here in houston we felt miserable making him suffer this way so i searched for a clinic that could get this over and we had the blessing to find this place it would not have been fair for my baby to go through this one more day they were very caring and considerate with handling my baby i can not remember the name of the doctor and assistant who explained us all the process and gave us time for me my husband and boys to say our goodbyes before while the euthanasia and after they never rushed us or pressured us they were very kind to us and even hugged me to offer some psychological comfort my Kayser left us in a gentle sleep did not howl or made an effort to resist he seemed at peace and finally resting they had so little paperwork for us as of the cremation and total cost that made it so much easier. i don't think it could've been better thank you for treating him and my family with so much patience and love and for making this transition easier. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Our Ulysses was hit by a car on a major holiday, and we went to the first emergency vet that popped up on google. I wouldn't be writing this review if VERGI was to any extent worth the price, but the "work" that they did on Ulysses and their recommendations were horrendously misguided. In addition, the veterinarians were cold and condescending. After admitting Ulysses and waiting for over an hour, we were finally able to visit Ulysses in their kennels. his wounds were openly bleeding, and he was obviously in great pain. They had administered NO pain medication and had made no effort to halt the bleeding. He clambered towards us out of the kennel, splashing the floor with blood. We ended up paying VERGI about $3,000 for Ulysses' "emergency care," basic bandages and three nights' boarding, and they told us that unless we were willing to pay $15,000 for additional surgery, we should put him down. However, when we took him to our regular vet, he was able to complete a series of surgeries for Ulysses that have helped him to completely recover. Our vet's services ended up costing us around $3,000. They were outraged that VERGI viewed euthanization as a viable option, as Ulysses' problems were relatively minor as far as car accidents go. Vergi's initial first aid bandaging was an important part of Buddy's recovery, as he could not have survived without some sort of veterinary care. However, IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION, do not go to Vergi. read more

Vergi is awesome - brought my lab in to have something removed from his mouth and they were quick about taking him back immediately. Dr. Chan and staff were very polite and informative. My kids were crying and they knew knew how to make them comfortable. They were very compassionate toward others bringing in their dying and bleeding dogs. We brought our dog here for emergency treatment last week. She was immediately taken to an exam room and we were ushered into another room. A technician who mumbled and was very hard to understand asked us several questions, then we waited for the vet to come in and apprise us of her condition. She spoke with us for about 5 minutes, with an initial diagnosis, then told us a technician would be in shortly to discuss treatment plans/options. After waiting for over an hour, the same mumbling technician came in and presented us with a bill and consent forms. No treatment plan was discussed, no options were given. And when we tried to ask questions, he would mumble a couple words and point to various parts of the bill. Trying to get answers regarding our dog's treatment was like getting blood from a turnip. We paid a considerable bill (over $1,000) and left our dog for overnight treatment. The next morning we called to check on her condition. After giving us a description of what was going on, the new vet on duty said that there was a problem with the bill we received the night before and we actually owed more than what we were billed. She then mentioned that the attending vet the night before had written in the chart that we were "concerned with payment". I guess asking legitimate questions about your dog's care when you are promised a treatment plan and don't get one is considered "concerned about payment." We are very grateful for the prompt, emergency care our dog received but it seems Vergi is more the one "concerned about payment" than we were. To Vergi: please hire technicians who can articulate what is going on with your patients. If you are trusting the techs to convey vital information to worried dog parents, you need to put people in those positions who have basic communication skills. While he may be excellent with animals, he was of no help whatsoever in explaining the promised treatment plan for our dog. We felt left in the dark and got our dog out and to her regular vet as soon as possible. read more

I love the staff at VERGI!! They're so compassionate and do everything to make you and your pets feel comfortable. I've used them multiple times and most recently I brought a dog in that was hit by a car. He didn't make it but they worked with me to get him cremated. They're open 24/7 and I recommend them to all my friends when they have an emergency come up! For an emergency clinic they are fairly priced and won't break the bank before you even walk in the door like some of the other emergency clinics in Houston. read more

Everyone was extremely helpful! I explained what was happening with my cat and she was taken back for an exam right away. The vet tech was very patient with all my questions and they were willing to work with my budget. It's very scary not knowing what's wrong with your pet, but her treatment was explained very clearly to me and I left feeling very reassured. The prices were pretty steep, but the wait was not as bad as I have experienced at other emergency clinics. Overall, I think my cat received excellent care, and the staff was very helpful through the whole process. read more

I had a positive experience bringing my 12 year old Newfoundland mix here last weekend. I'm grateful the vet was knowledgable and knew exactly what was happening with my dogs hips. My little chihuahua wouldn't be here if it weren't for Vergi. When I brought him in, he was in horrible pain and could hardly move. It took surgery and intensive care to get him back up and going again. I understood that from the beginning he may not make it through. The staff was very up-front with all possibilities. I also understood that regardless of how he pulled through, the clinic is still a business. I have read many reviews about how an animal did not make it, but they still had to pay. My father passed away from cancer, and we are still paying the medical bills. Medicine and medical attention isn't free, regardless of human or animal I am so appreciative of the amazing, professional care they gave my little guy, and I will always turn to them for my pet emergencies. read more

Last week our cat Sinatra developed a sudden illness (severe pancreatitis), so at the recommendation of our local vet, we took our cat to VERGI to provide him with 24-hour care. From the receptionists, to the technicians, to the doctors, everyone at VERGI was friendly and professional. Sinatra was at VERGI for almost 72 hours, and when we visited each day, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seen by the doctor while we visited our cat. Dr. Seely was especially helpful and supportive. He thoroughly and patiently answered each question. He also gave us honest and direct responses to questions regarding the likelihood of our cat's recovery. We never felt rushed or pressured, and were always made to feel comfortable while visiting. I can be a little OCD, so I validated Dr. Seely's suggestions and recommendations on multiple peer-reviewed internet websites. His advice always aligned with the best practices I researched. Most sadly, our cat did not respond to the treatment and care VERGI provided, and we had to make the tough decision to end his suffering. Dr. Seely walked us through this process with care and grace. He also offered to be available with any additional questions or concerns moving forward. Two days ago we received a hand-written condolence card from VERGI that the entire staff had signed; it also contained many hand written notes of encouragement. This was an extremely thoughtful gesture. Finally, to address the financial aspect: our cat's care was very expensive ($2500). And had we chosen not to pay, VERGI would not have provided him with medical care. That's the way 24-hour pet hospitals operate, and it would be unreasonable to hold that against them. It is worth noting that they did offer us a credit-card option that is interest free for 12 months. Overall, if you are looking for expert emergency pet care for, I recommend VERGI, and particularly Dr. Seely. read more

VIRGI..my vet uses this to refer emergencies at night or on weekends. I took my 16 year old yorkie in with respiratory distress. They wanted to start with x rays and tests and who knows what, wel l$2,000.00 + . My vet had already told me this was collapsing trachea and there would be no need for a bunch of expensive tests and X rays etc because whatever was found would not be treated instead just treat the symptoms. I told them that and they had a real snippy attitude and wrote on my receipt and the pet's record "refuses emergency treatment"...I didn't, I wanted emergency treatment, I just didn't want a bunch of tests and a huge bill. They did give him some O2 and anti anxiety meds and pain med The goal just to slow down the breathing...it is kind of a progressive problem where the trachea collapses with respirations and the harder they suck in to breathe the more it closes and they panic and it becomes serious. Long story short...instead of $2,000+ my bill was $200.00..my pet became calm and sedate and went home and was fine until the next episode. I know people have to make money to run a business but there is something close to robbery when you over charge so drastically .....because you can ..it is the same for human care ..they know you love who is being treated and the one being treated wants to live so ....you pay...whatever they say. I did find out something from a 24 hour vet out on hwy 90 in Sugarland. He said most of them work under contract and do not own the clinics. He said they (the vet) are given a billing sheet and are expected to lay out the treatment for the client before the care is given and they are expected to do whatever is on the plan whether it is needed or not in order to justify collecting the entire fee...this came about when I took my yorkie in who had a puppy stuck during delivery. for over an hour. so the vet told me the bill would be $3,200.00 and I asked how he knew and he said because they would do a c section + the x rays and pain med and possible cpr etc etc...he showed me the Xray of the puppy and said "you can see the puppy is too large for the birth canal...the head wont fit" I told him I am a nurse and I know about how the head gives and the birth canal opens and I would like to give her something to stimulate the contractions (because her labor had stopped)...well while he is there trying to convince me to sign the consent for the c section and every thing else, my dog delivered the puppy...the puppy was dead I already knew it was dead at home I just didn't want her to die too....well now he goes back and comes out with the bill saying there was a charge for the delivery (he wasn't even with her, he was with me during her natural delivery) and a $200+ charge for CPR he did on the puppy. The puppy was dead and had been dead for more than an hour. I have taken my time to write this because we as a society need to know that healthcare can also be a scam Doesn't even mean they don't give good care, it means they will give you things you didn't need and bill for things they didn't do and charge you more than is reasonable for what they actually do. Never sign an agreement for cost before the work is done; getting an estimate is fine but ask why each step is necessary...best advice is stick with your vet during business hours and try your best to avoid 24 hour vets...they will (or may) save your per but you won't have enough money to pay your rent or buy the pet food when they finish. I would love to honor them *vets) and trust them but they will rob you as sure as a crook with a gun....because you are helpless and at their mercy...use caution. My own vet recently took an x ray of my yorkie who was is being diagnosed: probably collapsing trachea because it is common in Yorkies. So he takes the x ray $82.00 and shows it to me and says "you know an x ray really won't show anything when it comes to collapsing trachea because when you snap the shot if the trachea isn't collapsed you won't see it" I felt like saying Duh...uh then why did you take the xray....The x ray was not a beneficial part of the diagnosis but it did add almost another 100 dollars to the bill. I guess my dentist summed it up best...he wanted to do some expensive work on my teeth (cosmetic work) and I said "you know, it is close to Christmas and I have a lot of gifts to buy, can we wait till after Christmas?" He responded "Yeah, but what about my Christmas? ". He was Joking(?) but this is for real. Watch your back. Turn to God /Jesus and prayer every time you can. He has helped me and my pets on many occasions. Try it. read more

Took my dog here on a Saturday when vets who take appointments were closed. Be prepared to wait, they have to prioritize more critical cases first. My dog's issue was urgent but not emergent and so as some critical cases came in, her case got pushed further and further down the line. We saw two vets that day, I liked Dr. Garcia better. She spent more time allowing me to ask questions and gave more thorough information. She seemed very calm, competent, and smart. Luckily we weren't there for something real serious so our bill was manageable. I did notice that they offer Care Credit so that you can finance your pet's treatment if necessary. Overall I wish they had been a little more informative and attentive to the pet owners who are waiting hours and hours to have their dog seen. But I am thankful to have had their services when we needed it. read more

It may have been due to being a very busy Sunday, I am not sure...but communication was absolutely terrible. I waited in the car (due to COVID curbside assistance) for 2 hours and could not reach anyone to tell me what was going on. After 8 hours and all but 1 communication being initiated by me...both simple and critical care was never started. I was finally told it was due to their waiting on MY approval which based on my waiting in the parking lot, staring at my phone and emails, and making repeated calls - could not be further from the truth. All really unsettling in an already potentially dire situation. Misunderstanding, probably so... Every time I did reach someone, it was a new person who continued to confuse me with different scenarios/pet owners. With the exception of one person, everyone was friendly and when I spoke with the Dr., she seemed caring but also super rushed. Overall, the operations and communications, and possibly staffing capacity all need improvement. It was all very scary. Felt like I was a number and a credit card, not a worried and loving pet owner in need of quality care. read more

We had to take our pup to the hospital because he was coughing up blood and having a hard time breathing. They took amazing care of our boy. They were more than prompt to answer every question. The doctors communicated well with us and with each other. Even though he saw multiple doctors and techs in his 2 day visit, I never felt like there was any confusion or interruption in his care. Everyone we spoke to was knowledgeable and very reassuring. They gave a very fair estimate for price at the beginning of our visit. The final bill was well below what they gave us as an estimate. They were very thorough and consistent with their care. They sent us a picture of him when he was there overnight, to reassure us and let us see him. They are making the best of covid restrictions. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the unfortunate situation of needing to take your fur baby to emergency care. read more

One Star is way too generous.... This is the worst place you can go to take your pet for any emergancy. My dog has diabetes and is blind and had an ulcer in her right eye. Sunday night she hit her head and burst her eye. My husband and I rushed her to this emergancy hospital because her eye doctor was closed. As soon as we got there they took her back and left us in the waiting room for 3 hours without a single update. I kept asking for updates and asking what was being done and if we could see her or be with her. We never got any straight answers and they would not let us see her. They had a full staff on duty and at least 2 doctors that I saw. There were other people there as well complaining about the same issues with the same results as us and one person had to call the police because they would not return his pet. The police showed up and made them return the pet. It was 3 hours later when the doctor finally came out to tell us that her eye needed to be removed. We were told that an eye specialist was to see Gracie and when the doctor came out she said they never called the eye specialist. This is 3 hours into our ordeal and by this point I was fed up. I told them I would take her to her eye specialist the next day. They gave me pain meds to keep her comfortable until she saw her eye doctor. When we took her to her eye doctor, he told us that her eye did NOT have to be removed. I am so relieved that I did not let this doctor at VERGI take her eye out! I would strongly suggest that if you have an emergancy do NOT take your pet here. There is Westbury Animal Hospital that is open 24/7 and they are absolutely wonderful and also Gulf Coast Emergancy Hospital which is also much better service. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of VERGI. My kitty was having urinary issues and needed to be monitored for quite a few days. The vet techs took him right away to be examined by the doctor. I never had to wait longer than 10 minutes, and was always told exactly what was going on, how he was doing, etc. The prices were very, very reasonable. Although my cat did end up eventually needing surgery, the vets, Dr. Noaker and Dr. Seely in particular, did everything they could to help us avoid surgery. It is obvious that the entire staff at VERGI truly love animals, and love their jobs. I completely credit them for saving my cat's life. Thank you, VERGI! read more

Fantastic emergency care. My pet got into a little bit of trouble with ants during a walk. They bit him all over his face and caused a lot of swelling. I gave him Benadryl, but it did not ease the swelling and his tongue was getting swollen, too. I called Vergi and the staff was attentive and informative on the phone. They let me know exactly what they would do for him and what the cost would be. When I came in, everyone took really good care of him. They watched him after giving him injections to make sure the swelling was going down and that he was doing okay. Now he is home safe and almost back to normal...not willing to go on a walk at the moment, but that's understandable. Thank you, everyone at Vergi for your awesome care of my pet! read more

1 Star for vet tech Lisa. She was incredibly rude and condescending. We brought our foster mama cat & kittens because the kittens were lethargic, had a fever, have Calicivirus and their littermate passed away the night before. Lisa came in and we told her our concerns with the kittens & she looked at us and said "what do you want to do?" Well I want you to provide the care they need in hopes that they can make it through the night. She preceded to weigh & take temperatures of all of the kittens and told us that they looked fine and they were not lethargic, and how wrong we were. She has zero skills when it comes to talking to people and was facetious when talking to us. The actual vet was much better and showed us that she was also concerned for their welfare. Lisa just came off as trying to make us feel like we were uneducated on our animals and that we were being dramatic for bringing the kittens in. read more

Vergi was the best place I could have took my dog. He had pancreatitis and Dr. Southerland, Dr. Rons, and Dr. Seely all took great care of him. The staff treated him and I like family. I was allowed to visit and have questions answered while Toby (my dog) was under care. I was able to call and get updates. It was clear they care about their patients and getting them better. having a few "older" pets, we have visited VERGI a few times in the last couple years (typically, when our established family vet was unavailable) and each time EVERYONE there has been very professional, caring and supportive. this review is based on our most recent visit. our 14 year old cat "joy" who'd been battling advanced kidney failure took a massive turn for the worse late on a friday evening (9/27/13). by mid afternoon the next day it was clear that we needed to end her suffering as soon as possible. VERGI was one of a few options available at that time. and based on our previous experiences with them. we chose them again. we called them with 15-20 minutes notice and they were ready for us immediately upon arrival. everyone involved was very supportive, compassionate and accommodating. they gave us as much time as we needed to say our final goodbyes. they were however very understanding when we told them that we'd already done that sufficiently and wanted to end her suffering as quickly and painlessly as possible. they asked us if this was our first time to euthanize a pet - which it was - and we appreciated them telling us exactly what they were going to do. what each step was for and what to expect from the procedure. everything went perfectly and we watched our friend fall into a deep sleep and pass without incident in a matter of just a few minutes. they took her away shortly later, gathering her up comfortably and securely (and discretely for our exit) in the familiar towel in which we'd brought her. i only have one regret in the process and it's my own doing. they offer a "paw print" service where they take a final (i'm assuming pre-passing) paw printing (in clay that you take home and fire in the oven as a keepsake) of your pet. we declined this for two reasons. 1. i didn't like the idea of a printing of the pet just moments before death. 2. i felt i had enough photos and objects around the house to be sufficient memories of our friend. though i still stand by those reasons, i now regret not having that one final piece. so, my advice is go ahead and have that done. if after a couple of days you still don't want it. you can discard it or simply hide it away. but you certainly cant go back and get it later. read more

I have used VERGI for years. I first visited when I was fostering a puppy for one of the best rescues in the city and she got sick. The rescue sent me to VERGI. Since then, I have taken my own dogs and recommend VERGI whenever someone asks me who I use as an emergency vet. I cannot imagine better service or superior treatment. VERGI is the best emergency clinic in Houston. Their staff is incredibly patient and careful when explaining what is going on while the pet is at the clinic. Then when it comes for follow up care, they are excellent at giving directions for how to look after the recovering patient. The entire staff was kind and compassionate. Taking extra care of my individual needs to stay with my cat as much and as long as possible before and after his procedure. That means the most. The staff listened to my concerns and took them to heart and I feel took extra steps to ensure my fears were addressed. I have called in many times at all hours of the day/night and my questions were answered each and every time without a shred of indifference. I wish all vets were as top notch as Vergi. Very pleased with my visit this Saturday morning. The staff is pleasant the professional. My cat was examined and diagnosed quickly, and his treatment plan was thoroughly explained. I feel he received excellent care. Also, I felt the price was reasonable for an emergency visit. So so happy with the facility and its employees! Took my 10 year old bullmastiff here with worms and non stop diarrhea and vomit. I was a wreck and so upset thinking the worst obviously. Dr Spade was very sweet and got right to the point . Her assistant Laura was awesome!! She explained everything in detail for me and was extremely patient and caring. I love my dogs new bandana around his neck that they all signed. In only 12 hours he was back to normal after his slumber party there. Highly recommend this place! read more

Unfortunately, we did not have a satisfactory experience. I was initially please with the prompt attention from the receptionist and vet technician who took Bella to the triage area for an examination. My fear of Bella having a stroke subsided when we got there because she was able to stand, walk, and was wagging her tail. However, I was worried and needed to find out why she suddenly collapsed. After waiting for about an hour, Dr. Mackenzie explained to us her concern about Bella and the treatment plan. After listening to The doctor's recommendation and we decided to obtain lab first and temporarily hold off on the diagnostic imaging. However, Dr. Mackenzie replied back annoyed and stated it was more paperwork for her to do. We paid about $460 for the physical exam, lab, EKG, and BP. We waited over 2 hours for the lab results. While waiting for the lab results, Dr. MacKenzie came out to addressed her concern about Bella's low BP and high heart rate. She recommended to admit Bella over night for continuous IV fluids. Being a healthcare provider myself, I wanted to get the lab results first, because it could be electrolyte or mineral imbalance from her nausea and vomiting causing dehydration and muscle cramping. Again, she was disappointed that she couldn't up sale us into spending more money. Our family waited for over 4 hours for lab results, hardly what you would consider STAT in an ER setting. Finally, the vet tech handed us the lab report and told us Dr.MacKenzie would explain the abnormal values, so we waited and waited and waited again. The most disappointed experience was the lack of communication and delay in response time. After waiting for over 5 hours, we left. Around 11:30pm, we received a call from Dr. MacKenzie when an apology and explanation. Even though it was late, I did appreciate the call and putting our family at ease about our dog's health condition. Also, I appreciated the company for submitting the results to our regular veterinary office. Overall, I'm disappointed about wait time. read more

The care itself here I suppose is ok. The bedside manner, approach to business, customer service and communication REALLY needs work. I didn't see one smile or ever hear any "thank you". I spent SEVERAL hours before I had any sort of idea what was possibly happening with my dog. I left with many inconclusive probabilities despite a specialist review. The communication methods the Vergi staff used to relay the status of my dog's health inspired a lot of fear and emotional stress. In addition, I had a very difficult time to get someone to clearly explain the pricing on the many different treatment plans that came my way and feel that the cost was VERY VERY high. That could be due to the lack of explanation or the way the fees are presented? Like most, I don't have a benchmark for emergency pet care. I believe that if your organization wants to itemize every charge, then someone should be able to articulate what each line is for when asked. I spent time with four different people that couldn't FULLY explain what the lines were for and why that treatment was necessary. This was a very difficult situation as I'm sure most are when you are in emergency care. The lack of professionalism from all but one nurse made it even more difficult and added a tremendous amount of unnecessary emotional stress. Please work on your communication skills and try to treat others with the same level of compassion you'd wish for if the roles were reversed. My dog is fine, her surgery required is basic & it took the specialist I saw AFTER the hospital all of 3 minutes to have a clear diagnosis, a precise plan & the cost involved in next steps & all of my questions were answered on the spot and in non medical jargon. It's also important to note that the Dr at Vergi led me to believe that it would be extremely difficult to find a specialist to see my dog quickly and therefore our treatment plan included fees for 2.5 days. I called a specialist the next morning at 8:30 and had an appointment at 9. The entire cost of surgery, including all medications, office visits and aftercare is significantly less than my stay at the emergency clinic. This is also relieving since the Vergi Dr threw out some "estimates" on "a" surgery. She also explained that since she or the emergency specialist that reviewed the X-rays couldn't really tell how extensive her injuries were, that my dog may need more than one surgery. She had already told me that Vergi does not do this kind of surgery, so what is the purpose of telling me how many surgeries we *MIGHT* need. You just told me you can't diagnose her injuries from your x ray (same ones the other specialist looked at by the way). Confusion, fear and money. That's what Vergi cost me. read more
