Horrible customer service. We arrived at 2:59 for our 3:00 appointment. One customer was in front of us without an appointment. He wanted a new SIM card. Mike was minding the door. He suggested that the man in front of us wait in his car due to the extreme heat. We checked in for our appointment. The man with the SIM card was permitted in. We waited our the door for 10 minutes before Mike suggested for us to wait in our car. We are senior citizens and we were refused to wait inside due to employee customer ratio. There were 2 employees standing around inside doing nothing. We will never return and will consider changing carriers. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I made an appointment to add a line. I had the phone to activate and the store was pretty busy. I walked in early to check in and met the guy in front Anatoly. I asked if there was an early opening. He sorely replied "NO, Your appointment is at 5 and thats the time we can see you." I said ok and sat down. I watched the other associates working really hard to get through their customers and they were doing great. But this guy just stood there not wanting to help at all. Just sitting in front of the store giving people attitude when he has to look away from his phone. An elderly couple walked in and asked what they could do to sell some phones. He told them they had to come back tomorrow and figure it out then. When the man asked something else he said just come back tomorrow and figure it out then. This guy is a very bad rep and I will not be returning to this location because of it. Verizon, you need to step up your game. This is not a person who represents you or your product in a good way. I've been to this Verizon location many times seeing this being a corporate location and the difficulties that need to be solved can only be dealt at a corporate location. I decided to finally write a review of this place because everytime I always come here, I get a really incompetent individual who makes things 10X more complicated than they need to be. So I always know to put my boxing gloves on before I come here! However yesterday was different! A good different! I came here the day before, but was unable to do anything because I guess my mom's company didn't give her authorization to take her phone number. Very long story, but don't need to go into detail. Then the day after, we tried again and were greeted by a friendly associate named David. We told him our complicated issues and how she needs to be added to my account, he did the necessary steps involved. He said he's never done anything like this before considering the corporation she worked her has monthly Verizon bills in the 7 digits! It took a lot of time and although she wanted the iPhone 6, they were on back order and wouldn't be available for a few weeks, so she opted for the 5S. I understand that they are sales people, but I didn't like how they kept pushing for only $10 more a month you can get a tablet. I would only get it if it was an iPad and, plus the product is always cheaper than the plan and I'm definitely data conscious, so I passed. I was throughly happy with yesterday's customer service, but overall I don't like this location. I didn't see the associate that was there last time who reeked of incompetence, however it seems like Verizon only cares about nickel and diming you to death! There's only one reason I have Verizon, but trust me if it wasn't for that reason, I would of been long gone. My phone has been aging, ear piece stopped working so I have to talk on speaker and the phone in general was extremely hard to charge so I went in to buy a new phone. Robert let me know that I had an extended warranty so instead of trying to sell me a new phone he signed me up to send me a replacement phone in the mail for free. They were extremely busy but still got me in to talk to representative relatively quickly. Definitely recommend going to this Verizon store! read more

I almost always dread having to deal with phone issues. In the past I've had to deal with fast talking and confusing sales people who are looking past me while spieling me, making me feel like an annoyance rather than a 20 year customer. In my last two visits at this particular location, I was taken care of well beyond expectation. I had been bamboozled by a 3rd party retailer while on vacation, and the young man helped me get back on track with a proper phone. I cannot remember his name at the moment, but he supplied me with the tools and information i would have torn my hair out trying to figure out. Soon after I was overwhelmed by trying to get my new phone set up with my valuable information and contacts. Gary informed me that there was a way to do all this online, but could clearly sense my despair. He spent almost a half hour helping me while still keeping up with the other customers. Don't go to the Carlsbad location, I understand about cov-19 but they still suck at customers service

Expect to wait. It's Verizon. Everyone has phone issues. It happens. What's nice is that they take your name and number and then you can wait, or they will contact you when your turn is up. About a month ago, my brand new iPhone got stolen and I had to go through my phone insurance to get a new one. The first time I went into the store, they handed me a card and told me the phone insurance is completely done online, over the phone, and through the mail. Ok, so technically I didn't need to go into the store the first time. Second time I went in after I received my replacement phone, the same guy helped me out. He remembered me to! I thought the customer service was good. They are always super busy, and overwhelmed. I feel like when it's like that customer service tends to go down a lil. But no big complaints. Wish I could give them ZERO STARS. Especially ROBERT who was working on Monday July 15. He was so rude, rolled his eyes at me for asking a question. Hugo who was supposed to be helping me basically started helping a new customer before he had completely finished my transaction. I still had questions/concerns and he just up and walked away without asking or making sure I was finished. My parents are older less tech-savvy than most and require extensive explanation and guidance for phone related stuff. I understand how frustrating it can be for staff to help out these customers. That being said... Hung helped me and my parents out setting up new phones, changing our line configurations, applying coupons, and even painstakingly transferring photos and contacts from my dad's old flip phone to the newest iPhone. He worked with us almost 20 minutes after the store closed to finalize everything despite already being short staffed and busy. In total he spent about an hour with us. He went above and beyond and really blew my expectations out of the water. The patience and care that he demonstrated was probably one of my best retail experiences ever, no joke. I was able to use insurance to replace (with a steep cooat). The phone arrives as promised and I decided to return to the store I had received service in the past. I had decided in advance if the management of this store was following others (referring me to a web link) I would end my 25 year-plus relationship with Verizon. There were certainly less costly cell companies that coukdvorovude web links to attempt to address my concerns (why pay Verizon prices for Dollar Store service?) I was not disappointed! I was referred to a tech nahed Will. He was friendly, patient, at no time did I feel he insulted my intelligence or skills von the contrary not only did Will provide HUMAN service that was stellar, but also I walked out with my confidence restored in American society. I have a confession. In the event I would have received a link instead of customer service I would have walked away from 25 years of relationship and would have found a less expensive cell provider. I came here last Friday for help with my phone I waited an hour no one ever came closed with no sign , my phone was broken so I had no directions to go els where . Andy was excellent and made up for 2 lousy experiences at this location. He is the sole reason this is not a 1-star review. Lousy experience 1: I recently upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S5 to the new Note 7. My salesperson had a strange smug attitude. I overheard the salesman next to us offering a discount on activation to his customers. I asked my salesperson for the same discount and she somehow didn't have the authority to do it. Bull. She also acted like I was kind of a jerk for asking. I left feeling like I had gotten a lesser deal than others. Not a great feeling. Lousy experience 2: I came in 2 weeks later to exchange my Note 7 because it had been recalled because of exploding batteries. Samsung had said "power down and return to store." A government consumer agency said the same. 2 salespeople at this Verizon store tried to talk me into not returning the phone! They talked about how rare the exploding phones were, and that it only happens during charging. I was appalled. I still almost can't believe it. Beyond trying to get me to keep a recalled, possibly exploding phone, they treated me like a nuisance for exchanging it. I was very close to returning it and cancelling the 2 yr contact I had signed. I returned to the store a third time to exchange my replacement phone for the new Note 7. Andy was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I had dreaded going into this store again, but he made the process so easy. I will only deal with him in the future. Not only did she answer and figure out every single question my husband asked (which was a lot) she went out of her way to get us the best deals and make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I was shocked at how poor the customer service was as soon as we walked in. The manager, the face of the store, was texting while standing at a podium. "Phone number?" He asked my wife without greeting us first. I knew then that if the basics were already this poor, the rest of this was going to be deplorable. This young ineffectual communicator of a manager sent us to browse.. When here we were needing a phone to replace our broken one. We browsed to pass time only to watch employees walk back and forth from the break room with food out to the parking lot then back in. The manager stood at the podium with earbuds in doing nothing. One guys said to us "we'll be with you shortly." That was decent. So as I prepared to get seriously angry and leave my wife instead asked the manager what he was doing and if he could help. Simultaneously, I pulled up this store on Yelp and happened to be reading a review, tasteless but accurate, that described exactly the same issues we were having. The manager replied to my wife "oh I can't, I have to stand here and manage the flow." "There's no one here." I said. I followed with "I'm reading your bad reviews on Yelp as we speak. I'm disappointed in your customer service and hope it gets better quick." He replies, "sorry, I promise you're next." We were finally helped by an indifferent employee who never smiled. I had the vibe of "who's next.. Let's get this over with." He ended up being ok, but we left empty handed and with me being so thankful she's the one with Verizon and me with ATT. Whilst this may be construed as an isolated incident, it was easy for me to see this was the norm. My wife and I are both service members and can say almost instantly we recognized the incredible lack of leadership and pride in this store. The Nightmare continued. As I mentioned in my last saga, today was the day of reckoning. My dear Wife went in for her 10am appt. this morning to exchange a Motorola, blue tooth enabled, hands free car answering system. I went along although I was watching our 2 year old Grandson. Made the equipment exchange, although during a conversation with the Technician/cashier he mentioned that a Jabra devise was better and a proven piece of equipment. He also mentioned that "if the exchange for the Motorola doesn't work you need to make the exchange within 5 days". My Wife and I discussed the issue and we decided to go with the Jabra devise. That's when it started going bad. All the sudden the Jabra was going to cost $25 more. When we bought the Motorola a week ago it was "you can have the Jabra or the Motorola for the same price". A big discussion ensued between Staff/and a Manager and the higher price stood. We paid the higher price because we were now afraid of the Motorola failing again. After all, the 1st one did not work well for us and it(Motorola) was a new on the market item. Hated paying the $25 but the 2 year old Grandson was getting tired, cranky and hungry and we needed to get on with life. Then we made a giant mistake, we asked a question about a badly needed backup battery device for my Wife's new Iphone 5. Oh, Oh, after going through what seemed like an eternity and a Manager and Technicians recommendations we selected one. Went to the cash register to pay and make sure the Battery backup device worked. They couldn't get it to work due to a faulty connection cable. They went through 3 of these devices, still no joy. They tried to sell her 2 other types of devices that just would not work well with an iPhone 5. Finally the best Technician there, named Hung, walked by with a device that was perfect for the Iphone 5. Thank the Lord we were able to get out of there. Thank you Hung. Came to ask a simple question: can someone help determine how much my phone bill is going to be if I upgrade to a smartphone? I've asked a similar question like it before where the employee went to their computer and looked up my account information and calculated it all out with my employee discount. The girl that helped me was rude, asked me how much I paid now, and said, "You'll be paying 30 more than you are now." I guess I had a surprised look on my face since she didn't walk to a computer and I was like "really?" and she said yea and started walking away. This store and its management has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! First, a salesrep led me to believe that a special promotion entitled me to a "rebate" that essentially gave me a jetpack for free then used as part of our nationwide plan - a complete misrepresentation of the facts that ended up costing me $65 more a month in a plan because other items were also added! Now, giving the salesperson the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know better (ahem) you'd think I would get somewhere with the company and management. At first Verizon supervisors on the *611 wouldn't do anything, oh except charge me $178 in disconnected phone line fees. When they pawned me off on the store manager, Jessica McCarthy, to resolve, she simply did nothing. Supposedly, the salesperson was out of the country and she would see what they said (when they got back) before she believed me and attempted to fix the problem. Are you kidding me? this is customer service?? Anyway she NEVER bothered to call me back at all, its been 5 days. In the meantime I called her supervisor, Ignacio Malo(?), who I calmly called 3 times! NEVER HEARD BACK, its been over a week. Finally I called Verizon *611 where another supervisor actually resolved the problem by simply disconnecting the line and not charging me. Though it still ended up costing me $50 in fees. I will absolutely never go into this store again while these two are in charge and I would advise everyone to avoid it and save yourselves the headache! read more

TL;DR: Liars, poor service, don't go for edge program. 0/5 isn't an option. I was due for a new phone upgrade. I went in and talked to Noah, who introduced me to the Edge program. He told me I was going to pay less, and I would able get a new phone whenever I wanted. I swear to God I said "this sounds too good to be true". Noah assured me it wasn't. Even said that I got a free car charger, phone case, and phone cover. Paid $150, left happy. Got my bill a few weeks later. My bill was twice as much as it normally was. It took three separate visits to figure out what went wrong. At the last visit they skipped over me in the waiting line for no reason. I was in the store, sitting on one of their cheap ass chairs. Eventually the situation was resolved, on their terms. Dickheads. On top of it, they charged me for the "free" charger, case, and cover, which came to around 90 dollars. Seriously? You're gonna tell something is free, and they turn around and charge me 20 dollars for an unnecessary piece of plastic that goes on a phone screen? Being a reasonable, educated person, I was appalled at the customer service at this particular store. They're awesome at sales, HORRIBLE with the customer service that follows. Five days in with a defective phone and Verizon call center was ashamed of how they handled my situation. Samsung said they should've exchanged it also but....NOPE!! I've been with verizon for as long as I've owned a cell phone. Apparently that doesn't mean much to this store...even after we spent hundreds and hundreds on our purchase there just 5 days earlier. The guy (Osman) who sold us the phones was there but never even came out to the front to admit he told us very clearly we could exchange the phones within 14 days for ANY REASON. Coward. First, I want to start this review off by saying that Melody is absolutely great. She is quick, to the point and she always gets the problem solved. This is the second time she's helped me and I really can't say enough good things about her. I think the store could use some more seating seeing as there's always a really long wait. The people are usually very nice however you can occasionally run into few employees that seem to have somewhat of an attitude. Today I had a good experience; got the problem solved relatively quickly and Melody was able to help me out. However, in the past it has been somewhat challenging to find a solution. The only reason I'm giving this four stars is because of Melody. Just an idea to give you how long of a wait time you should expect I checked in to get my phone fixed at 11:30 am and didn't get service or seen by anyone until 12:30. Thanks to her I was out in 10 or so minutes after being seen by someone. I'm sure there's going to be reviews of pissed off people. Make an appointment. If you don't, then attendant says, "There are x people in front of you, but not to worry we have x + 1 sales representatives". With x normally around 15. Always packed, but it is one of the highest volume stores in the area and they have they merchandise to back it up. I came here to purchase an Samsung Galaxy S3 with my wife. Upon walking in we were told that there were about 11 people in line in front of us and that we would be 'checked in' by a young man who looked like Justin Timberlake's progeny. I took off one star for him being very matter of fact and lacking bedside manner when dealing with customer's questions. As noted by his dealings with other customers before and after my wife and me. Our assigned sales person was very helpful and informative to a point. She did not have a very in depth technical knowledge of phones or phone specification but she did have the ability to read the specs from the sales card (minus one star for trying to hide it) even though she appeared to have the same phone I was going to purchase and it's larger equivalent the Note 2. She was able to get the phone attached to the line, and informed me of additional charges prior to the subtotal discussion. I also learned about the open enrollment season for Verizon phones, and she seemed very knowledgeable about Verizon's plans and corporate doings. I will continue to go to this location, however I will in the future make an appointment. read more
