Do yourself a favor and go to a different Verizon branch. They told me I had to get the protection plan on my new phone and then opt out online or via phone later. That is not the truth! Another time, they gave me a case, headphones, etc for 'free' because of a promotion but it was later on my bill. The special was that I get $200 bill credit for porting another line from a different carrier... but instead of telling me I could just get the $200 credit they told me I had to spend $200 in store. Shady store! I've been in sales myself all my life but you don't have to con your customers to get the sale. This local store has very rude customer service, I try to trade-in my old phones with three new opened lines, I already deal with these for 2-3 weeks, go to Costco, call 800 customer service line, ... they just kick balls around. Finally 800 representatives ask me to go to local store to fix the problem. Then in local store, the guy want to sell their new promotions, but I only care about mail in my trade in devices. You cannot imagine what they do afterwards, they ask me to get out of the store because they do not want to do business with me. But I am customer of Verizon and I just opened three new lines with this company. I refuse to leave because I did not do anything wrong, then they call policeman to come to eject me out. I came into this branch VERY unhappy due to a misunderstanding and was ready to give them 1 star. They were very busy on a Wednesday night but I waited to talk to the store manager, Rex Nicolas. After he was finished helping his customer, he came over and greeted us. One of the workers made a huge mistake when my brother and sister came into the store to upgrade their phone...They used the discount that was associated with my line, which caused my contract to be extended till 2012. I was very upset by this because I was the only account manager and I was the only one who could make any changes to the account. At the time, I was contemplating on whether I should get the new Droid Incredible at a really good discount or switch to AT&T and get the Iphone 4 but this mistake would have denied me of both options. Anyway, Rex was very professional and apologetic about what happened. He went above and beyond to give me other options and we were able to come to a resolution. Because of his spectacular customer service, I decided to stay with Verizon and I now own the new Droid Incredible...I am very satisfied with the phone so far and I would definitely recommend this branch to my friends and family. In fact, one of my friend's family decided to get new phones here right after me. I didn't think I would ever change my mind about giving a business a 1 star to now 5 stars. They really take care of their customers so I highly recommend this branch if you're looking for great customer service! read more

When I asked a free representative yesterday who was at the counter if someone could help us adding another line, I was rudely told that there was a waiting line by another representative. We were the only customers waiting and there was someone at the counter who was apparently available to work. I guess that the first representative at the counter was just hanging out there and not available to work. This is pretty much the most pathetic customer service possible and defies logic for a business. I will calling Verizon to voice my concerns and look for another cell phone provider. read more

This has been the most dreadful and gruesome experience that I have ever experienced with Verizon. My dad passed away in 2015, and after his death my family agreed to cancel his phone because we don't want it and obviously my dad no longer needs it. I went to the store and called customer service, they informed me that Verizon has removed his phone number from the account and we should no longer see it. I thought it was a simple process, but they end up lying to me and my dad's number remained active until 2018. I've been trying to remove my dad's line for over 3 years and Verizon can never help my family remove it or provide any reasons for not fulfilling my request. I even showed the death certificate to Verizon and they still won't remove the line for me. After paying for my father's funeral, my family had a financial hardship because of the expenses we needed to pay for the service, and now Verizon is causing more suffering towards my family because they keep demanding money for a number we don't want. When I asked customer service about policy regarding death certificate in order to cancel phone number they said there's no policy and the number will not be cancel. I trusted Verizon to help me with this difficult time, but all they want is your money and they don't care about meeting customer needs and satisfaction. If you open an account with Verizon, you are permanently with this company and not even a death certificate can help you cancel the service. Verizon has no compassion, ethical, and empathy regarding a loss of a family member, especially when they are a customer at Verizon. This company is a disgrace towards the military community and to this country. You should be ashamed of yourself for your behaviors. read more

I've been in the states for several years now and I've never met a salesperson that went above & beyond what his/her job entails...until I met Brian Moreno of Verizon/Fremont (Christy Street). My wife had to get an cellphone upgrade today so we decided to try the Verizon's Fremont/Christey store; Brian was assigned to our account which was a blessing in disguise; he is very courteous, polite and cordial to us old people. Also, Brian is very attentive, knowledgeable and customer-oriented; he went out of way to make certain that my wife get the cellphone that she likes, without the usual sales-pitch-obnoxious-hounding. The staff here (and especially a particular guy with glasses) is extremely condescending and rude. Don't even bother asking questions, because they'll give you a dumbfounded look of disgust and not even acknowledge your question. I came in to trade in my iPhone 6, which was reset to factory settings (by following Apple's own guidelines), but they rejected the phone. Took it to another store, and they were able to accept it in 30 seconds. This store is ran by completely incompetent tools who hate their jobs, so don't even bother. TLDR: I will NEVER come back here once this situation is resolved. Mateo will make a dollar off of you, but will never help you after that. Save yourself a headache and NEVER come here. I really thought I had developed a good connection with Mateo when he helped my boyfriend add an iPad to his account. He SEEMED really genuine and transparent. I later came in to trade in my iPhone 7 which I paid off to 50% over the phone with customer care. I made it clear to the customer care associate that I had swapped my phone through AppleCare and made they clear to Mateo as well, which meant the serial numbers would not match up with the phone on file and the phone I physically had. Traded my phone in easily, got a new phone, no issues. I had really trusted Mateo. But my first strike was when he put total protection on my phone without asking or suggesting. I understand it's suggested, but I get AppleCare on my phones (and I don't want a refurbished phone from Asurion) so it was rather annoying to see that on my bill that he printed for me after I was rung up. Really annoying that he had snuck that in without any mention of it. If I hadn't looked I would've been paying $11 extra dollars a month while already buying AppleCare. So beware to anyone that works with Mateo. Anyways.. fast forward a month-ish I receive a notification I am being charged $380 and I call customer care to see why. They explained it was for the black iPhone 7 I upgraded. I don't have the phone anymore? I traded it into the Verizon store with Mateo. I go into the store and they ask for the IMEI of the phone I traded in. I called AppleCare and got the IMEI. Let it also be known that I've seen Mateo twice now and he NEVER helped me with any of this and not ONCE apologized for the headache he is putting me through. But why does it matter to him, he already got his paycheck and he's not the one being billed with $380. So Luis who was the manager at the time told me he would help me out and call me by 2 pm (it was now 12 pm). I received a call from him around 4 pm, but I didn't have signal so wasn't able to answer. No second call or voicemail, understandable- people are busy. I was so busy throughout the week and followed up with them yesterday. First call into the store, I was instantly transferred to customer care no words from the associate who had answered. Second call into the store, spoke with the general manager Tam? who "promised" me he would give me a call but he had to look into the situation because it was his first time hearing about this. Gave him a chance and waited until 5 the next day (today) and decided to call, maybe he was busy, it happens. Called in, "oh Tam is off until Wednesday". Great.. just my luck. Heard another "this is something we can't solve instantly" which is why I've been trying for the past 3 weeks now, to resolve an issue which is really not my fault. I wouldn't be tripping over $380 if I actually had my old phone in possession but I don't. I am in customer service, I know there are so many issues that can't be instantaneously fixed. I do know in fast paced environments in customer service, it is easy to make mistakes. But I do know how meaningful it is for stores to give a shit about their customers. MATEO'S NEGLIGENCE AND INDIFFERENCE towards this whole situation is the truest reflection of those in customer service that just want to make a dollar off of you and don't care how they do it. If you like to get misled, this is the place to be!! Seriously this place and their offers is the equivalent of being taken on a date and being told you're paying for your own dinner... This review is over due from last summer when I got an iPhone 5S. A really handsome and charming guy assisted me in upgrading my phone. New phone, cute guy, yassssssss, awesome right? I needed a phone case also so he suggested I buy a rechargeable case that he ensured would definitely protect my phone as well. This item was pricey, about $80+. BUT, there was an underlying offer that I could not resist. Inside the rechargeable phone case was an Isis (name eventually changed) wallet chip that offered free Jamba Juice for a whole year. (Basically I would go to Jamba Juice and they would have this monitor thing that you would tap your phone case against to redeem the offer). I WAS TOLD: BUY PHONE CASE + MAKE ACCOUNT/ACTIVATE IT = FREE JAMBA JUICE FOR A YEAR Keep in mind, I could have totally bought a cheaper rechargeable phone case on Amazon, but I thought if I'm getting free Jamba Juice and getting a rechargeable phone case that will protect my phone, WHY THE HELL NOT. IT'S A BONUS THAT'LL EVENTUALLY EVEN OUT!!!! SUCH A DEAL Ok, for about 2-3 months it was cool and I was living the life, sipping on my free orange dream machine with extra strawberries. Until one day it was rejected. I was like what lol.... what... lol. What lol. Jamba Juice (located in the same plaza as Verizon) told me that the offer had a cap on it for the general populace for the first odd hundred or thousand claimed, it would not be offered anymore. Oh no big deal, what I was told that something was going to be offered for a whole year actually came out to be expelled within a couple of months. So foolish of me to trust my phone carrier's sellers. So the issue? I was misled and lied to. It would have been a totally different story if I was told in the beginning of the true policy, not something totally different. But I acted on my purchase based on information that I would be receiving something for a whole year. When I went to speak with Verizon right after (not with the same guy) they were kind of just like "uhhhh," "ehhhh," "yeahhh, that's what the policy is" about it. Good job cute guy, hope you ate a good dinner off of my sale. From the time I walked in last 1/14/17, welcomed by a friendly greeter to the completion of the transaction, it had been a very positive & excellent experience. My Solutions Specialist, Ricky was so excellent in all areas: He was highly knowlegeable, patient, helpful, and friendly. Me not being tech savvy person, Ricky did not make feel like a dope at all. So anyone feeling intimated by the whole buying or upgrading process for a cellphone, please ask for Ricky specifically. Walked into this store on a Monday afternoon looking for a new phone. The greeter signs me in and asks me to wait for the sales rep. There are probably three sales reps at the counter checking their computers and two of them trying to help a customer out ( not sure why you need two sales guys for one customer.) There was no other customer in the store. I waited for 25 minutes with no one even looking in my direction. Feeling frustrated I ask the one of the sales rep staring intently at her computer screen ( as if the world is about to end), if someone was going to help me. She told me one of the other sales guys would help me ( and those guys were laughing and sharing a private joke helping the one other customer in the store .) Waited another 10 minutes and still no one. At this point I'm really miffed. So I went up to the greeter and told him that he just lost a sale and I'm out. They didn't bother to apologize or care! First time I went, the guy at the door put me on waitlist and said that the wait time was 40mins. After about 45mins later, I wanted to check my wait time again so I went up to an employee and asked how much longer I needed to wait. Turns out, I wasn't even on the list... I had to wait all over again because the person who signed me up was gone and there was no way to prove that I was already signed in... Another horrible thing happened the second time I went. This time was even worse because the manager encouraged me to spend $40+ on accesories and told me that I'll get $40 back through Isis(a wallet app) because Verizon and Isis have a promotion. She took my card, and registered me to Isis. My registration said it was "pending" and she told me that I will be registered within few days. It wasn't. The card she tried to register apparently doesn't go with Isis. So well, I guess you could say that they stole my money. A great big shout out to Tyler & Alma!!! Who knew customer service was still alive and well...and at Verizon of all places?! Our family are long time loyal Verizon customers because of the great cell reception everywhere we go, but normally I dread having to go into a Verizon store and talk to someone. Typically I come out dazed, confused, and frustrated...with a new phone and a higher bill. But yesterday I hesitantly went in to ask about the current trade in "deal" I'd heard on TV...it was over of course...but low and behold I was helped by the most pleasant young man, Tyler, who was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. He didn't use any of that typical confusing fast talking high tech jargon that not only makes me feel stupid but makes me want to run screaming out the door! In fact, it was so nice dealing with him that I ended up doing the majority of my Christmas shopping right then and there! And did I mention Alma, the store manager, who drove to Milpitas to pick up other items for me...while I waited...at the start of rush hour???!!! Come on people, who does that?! It was awesome!!! I come from the era of "the customer's always right," which sadly seems to have been lost somewhere along the way, but not yesterday at the Verizon store in Pacific Commons...Tyler & Alma are bringing customer service back! With a smile to boot! Clearly I can't say enough about my experience there, and in all fairness, every single one of their employees there yesterday were very nice and friendly, which was an extremely welcome surprise, especially during this hectic holiday shopping season. I've never had a negative experience at this store. Sometimes they do take awhile to get to you, but it depends on the time you go. Conveniently located near the house, this is my go-to store. Today, I dealt with Emmanuel. He was great, helpful, and friendly. But I didn't have anything to resolve; just went in to get my screen protector installed and purchase a car charger. One star is just saying too much for this store. Went in on 2/20/15 looking to upgrade to a new iPhone 6 since it was time for an upgrade. The dude who helped me seemed pretty nice and looking at what other reviewers have stated, its true. They seem to become your best friend when you mention an upgrade - more commission for them. Dude said he would be able to bring my bill down to $20-$30 bucks cheaper, cool. I'm game for that since I share a plan with my Mom. Apparently, we had been over paying for quite some time and he said that we could lower it and I would also no longer be getting my unlimited messaging that we have had since forever. To me, that sucked. And my Mom has been with Verizon since 1998, you would think they would be able to accommodate us in some way, nope. So, we get down to getting the phone, change our plan and everything is all good. Of course the whole time he is trying to talk me into getting a tablet for my daughter or some other kind of accessory and it was too pushy. No thank you, I don't care if you have a tablet for your 10 month old dude, I'm not getting my toddler one too. Finally get done getting my phone, he tells me next month there will be a $25.22 charge but it will get credited back to my account. Okay, cool. I wasn't paying too much attention as I was trying to get home to my daughter. Come to find out, dude completely lied to me about my plan and signed me up for the Edge bullshit! Apparently, the $25.22 charge is a monthly charge, not just a one time thing. He didn't sign me up for a regular two-year contract like I had asked and just did whatever he wanted in trying to "get me a lower plan." When I called Customer Service to ask about what the charge was, I was completely baffled that someone would straight up lie and get over on someone else just to make a quick buck. It was also "too late" and past the 14-day grace period to return my phone, I would have to physically go back to the store to get my phone returned, then get another one with a two-year contract. All that hassle over some dude trying to make more money. In order to cancel the Edge program, since it is past the time, it would cost me over $500! After already paying for my bill AND a "down-payment" over over $200 for my phone. Also, part of the stipulation of the Edge program was to return your old phone. He never told me that. I gave it to my daughter to play around with, you think I'm gonna take it away from her now? Yeah, no. Needless to say, I wasn't happy that Customer Service couldn't resolve the problem right then and there. And there was no "guarantee" that they would return my phone. They better believe their asses they are gonna return my phone and give me what I want. All Customer Service could do was continue to apologize and told me they left notes on our account okaying the return. So, tonight I went to the store to get this resolved. Danielle was extremely helpful & understanding & I greatly appreciated that. The other two managers, not so much. They kept trying to talk me into keeping the Edge when after 24 months/payments of $25.22 plus the $150 down payment, I would basically be paying for an entire new phone. Where as, getting a two-year contract I paid the amount & was done. No extra paying each month. Verizon should be happy that we have been with the company so long because their lack of knowledge & regard for people is ridiculous. I won't be coming back to this location any longer. read more

I went to Verizon to get my phone fixed. I ended up with a tablet with a 2 gb/month plan, or so I thought. What had happened was my whole entire plan changed to 2 gb/month. I went the next day to cancel and they said they were unable to do that for me at the Verizon Store. One of managers stated that he would send a message to Customer Service to change it back to the original plan, and then follow up with me that coming Tuesday or Wednesday. My sister and I have been having issues with our network and I just had a feeling I was going to come in and not really get much help, as this has happened before in the past. BUt Gabrielle (Gab) was SOOOOO helpful, especially with his time!! We got there minutes after 7 pm and they closed at 8 pm. He still maintained patience and was able to cross sell. We ended up getting unlimited data, I brought a USB to help back up my photos and he was just great with us. Great personality willing to help! I had a very bad experience here yesterday . Was going to upgrade my phone. Got there around 6:00pm . The guy told me and my son the wait time will be around 45 minutes. Waited almost 2 hours. They were closed at 8. When the guy ready to talk to us, he was not really wanted to help. Told us he won't honor whatever VERIZON website offer. We had to call VERIZON ourself. Kevin is a manager who kept joking around wth us during our visit. Kevin worked magic making sure we received the best care he could provide with both our new phones and our account. If I could give them 0 stars I would. What was appalling was the store greeter. While waiting I was talking to him about having to wait close to 2 hrs for a simple question that we'll be out of there in less then 10 minutes (which we were). I asked if there was any way for them to help customers like us that do not need that much help or not buying a phone. His reply was " What do you want me to do about it!!!" (With an attitude). The customer service at the Fremont location SUCKS. Greeted at the door to try to resolve a minor problem with my new Android I was told that the wait time would be about 30 minutes. So, I waited & waited. After 45 minutes, I left. While I was waiting, I noticed other customers going out, getting food or something to drink while they were still waiting. During the time that I was waiting, I noticed only 3 customers leaving after their problems ? were resolved. There is no seating for anyone waiting which makes standing around for a long time difficult for seniors and others with medical problems. Also, because of the LONG WAITING TIME, there should be restroom facilities provided. I will now use the Union City office where they more efficient with their customers and treat they properly. I had a problem with my iPhone and went to this store on my lunch break. Tom helped me and he was very nice which was surprising as I have not had great experiences in the past at other Verizon stores. He set everything up for them to send me a new iPhone shipped over night. When I got my "new" phone it also had some problems. I went back and was lucky enough to have Tom helping me again. It took a really long time because there was some sort of mystery hold on my account. He was very patient and got the hold removed from my account and set it all up for me to get another replacement phone. I received a "new" phone 2 days later. So far it's all working great. I just came here with my friend to activate her old iPhone because she lost her Samsung. They half-assed welcomed us. I don't need a full happy go lucky welcome either. Either greet us genuinely or ignore us. They really didn't want to help us. Like they tried to activate it but they say that iPhone 4 isn't compatible for Verizon. I wanted to echo Mari's review. Ricky is great. I recently misplaced my iPhone. I brought my backup phone and Ricky helped me to activate it. Several days later, I found my iPhone and went back to see Ricky. Ricky not only switched the SIM card for me, but also showed me how to do it by myself.
