I just came here with my friend to activate her old iPhone because she lost her Samsung. They half-assed welcomed us. I don't need a full happy go lucky welcome either. Either greet us genuinely or ignore us. They really didn't want to help us. Like they tried to activate it but they say that iPhone 4 isn't compatible for Verizon. Even though she had used that iPhone for Verizon before. Customer service is waaay lacking. I have never stepped into a Verizon store before bc I know they are expensive. If I could give the store less than one star I would. They have the worst customer service ever. This includes the employees as well as the store manager (Alma). I have never been talked down to or talked at in such a disrespectful manner before. I have been with Verizon for 10 years and this was the worst customer service I have ever received. Be warned if you go into purchase at this location they will try to lie to you, so you buy accessories and things you don't need. Perfect example my sister went into the store to buy a phone was told she was getting a bundle deal with 3 accessories and a 4th accessory of her choice. And was told this was a bundle deal with a 2 year contract, so the accessories would be free. When she called customer service to ask a question, she found out she was on there edge program where there is no contract and you pay for the phone each month and was charged for all the accessories. The hundreds of dollars she paid were for the accessories she was told were free and only a $100 deposit was made on tee phone when she was told she purchased it out right. She was very upset and asked me to go back to the store with her. We made an appointment to speak to Alma but when we got there she was tied up in a meeting and there was another associate there to assist us. When my sister told him the story the guy said are you sure that's what you were told because our associates don't use those terms "they know better". We said we wanted a refund on the accessories (which the rep had taken out of the box and placed directly on the phone) so he then went to the back and got Alma. When she came out she also stated well that's not stuff our associates say so you must just be confused. After going back and forth we said we just want the stuff returned. She then proceed to say well let me explain to you that if you return the screen protector and phone case and something happens to the phone you will be charged the $700 for the phone. We explained we had insurance on the account and even if we didn't, we would still have to pay for the phone on the edge program. It was not only what she said it was also the manner in which she spoke. At the end of all this we were so frustrated we said we wanted to cancel service all together and her response was well make sure you pay the $35 restocking fee. I've been to many Verizon stores before and never experienced this level of unprofessionalism. We'll definitely never be returning here. read more

Waited for someone to look at my phone. The fix needed was just to restart the phone and the person who helped me did not even figure it out. I was able to get it fixed at a Verizon Kiosk at the NewPark Mall. Very disappointing. I hope other employees were more knowledgeable than the woman who "helped" me. read more

This is a review about the sales associate, SARAH So i called in the morning to ask about a special promotion and asked if i could take advantage of it in their retail location. The person on the phone said yes and to just come in. When i get there.. Guess what? Theres a 2 hour wait. Well i was not about to make a big deal about it, but i would have perfered if when i called in, somebody should have given me a heads up about the wait time. So after i put my name on the waiting list, which was just a sticky note, i went home and came back 2 hours later. After getting there, i had to wait an additional 30 mins before being helped, while there was pretty much only 1 sales associate on the floor while other associates are just chitchatting. After finally reaching my turn, the sales associate, SARAH, began to pull my info and start giving me a sales pitch. I had told Sarah that all i wanted to do was upgrade to an Iphone6.. but she immediately went off on a tangent about my data plan. When trying to cross-sell me on another product.. ADDRESS MY INITIAL REQUEST before trying to sell me something else. I had to tell her on 4 separate times that i was not interested in doing anything except getting my phone. It was fathers day, and i had plans to have dinner with my family. I had told her this, but i guess she did not respect my time, and she continued to try to hard-sell me on other products. I get it that you can save me money on a bigger plan. I said NO! And then she began to act like she didnt care and she wasnt doing it for a commission.. THEN WHY DID YOU ASK ME 4 TIMES when i explicitly said NO every time. I told her we had spent so long waiting that we didnt have time for this. Then she has the nerve to tell me i should have made an appointment.. I CALLED IN THE MORNING AND THEY JUST TOLD ME TO COME IN! And FYI My data plan is fine. receiving notifications about using 75% of my data plan about 5 days before my statement ends is an indication that i am getting the most of my my money by utilizing the majority of my data alocation. read more

I'll give them 1 star for possessing the ability to open the door and turn the lights on, beyond that this location has been a consistent source of disappointment. I'm a multi line, large data plan, several hundred dollar a month customer and any time of day, any day of the week I go in to this location needing to do something if is at least an hour wait and then, if I decide to burn an hour of my life I still get little satisfaction. Today, 6:15pm, at least 5-6 employees on the floor, perhaps 4-5 people waiting in the store. I'm told, after waiting 6 minutes for the guy taking names to acknowledge me, that it will be at least an hour wait. I also overhear that some people on the wait list aren't even in the store, they are at a nearby restaurant eating and they should just be called when it's there turn. Excuse me? I have to take a backseat to people who can't be bothered to even wait like the rest of us. This kind of ineptitude has been my experience here at least four times. Online isn't much better as their website has some infinite loops making it impossible to spend money. I'll be dropping my service and I'll never look back. Plenty of competition out there where I will at least get some initial customer service for the first couple months. read more

I needed a help for my order to check the status of it..after they checked it..they told me to call the 1800# so I can resolve the issues and just cancel the shipment just get the phone in the store instead..why they can't help me to call the customer service since were in the store so that way I can get the phone and get new 2 lines..just doesn't makes a sense at all ..next thing you know 4 or 5 associates taking breaks all the same time..I guess helping out a new customer not the priority for them..never again going to this store ..newly remodeled store old school associates that doesn't care about customer. read more

Verizon and their partnership with Apple is a joke. I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Their idiotic policies will torment you if there is anything wrong with you order. On November 1st, I went into this Verizon store to return an IPad 4 and pre-order an IPad Air. After waiting 1 hour for service (after being told it would just be 5 minutes) they performed the return and pre-ordered an IPad Air to be mailed to my address. Then somehow they canceled the IPad Air order and it took them another hour to resubmit the order through their system. After 2 hours, I left with a receipt and a promise that it would all be ok but they were not able to finalize the order that night. Two weeks later my IPad Air arrived with a dead on arrival SIM reader (the thing you need to connect to their network). Since I work in Berkeley I brought the IPad into the Berkeley store to get it fixed and they spent about an hour and a half tinkering with it but were unable to fix it. Initially they were not even able to open the SIM card slot until I gave them the tool from my box (They were trying to use some HTC tool that didn't fit). They also really scratched up the SIM card cover in their attempts. They finally told me to try an apple store (which was amazed me because I didn't buy it at an apple store). The next day I called Verizon customer service and was told that the device was misconfigured and the agent spent an hour with me essentially rebooting the IPad. After that did not work (obviously no matter how many times you reboot the SIM card reader is still broken) they put me on with another person who said they would check to see if there were any stores I could exchange it at. After the Verizon rep called around, she told that the Apple store 45 minutes from my home would fix/replace it. I made an appointment and went to the Apple store. After arriving 10 minutes early for my appointment I ended up waiting 20 minutes until after my appointment before someone would see me. He looked at my machine and said he would not be able to replace it but would give me an id number that would show that he verified it was broken and that I could call their Customer Service line and they would handle the replacement. I asked him if he had any in stock and he said he did but that he was not allowed to replace defective hardware with them and was only allowed to replace with those designated as replacements. I asked what the difference between the two was and he said there was none but refused to replace the broken device. He then went on to say that it's because I bought it from Verizon and had I bought it at apple he could have just returned it and replaced it with a new one. I then went home and called Apple support to reference the number I had received from the Apple store. The apple support hung up on me twice before I was finally able to get a person to process the return. They are sending me a box so I can mail them the broken IPad. Once they receive the IPad they will mail me another one. I have no idea why they think this makes more sense than to just let me replace it in store. In store I would be a happier customer, possibly buy accessories, and save them the shipping costs, but they would rather make me an unsatisfied customer and lose out on future business. I then called back the Verizon store to see if I had any other alternatives. I asked if I could simply just return their dead on arrival hardware and buy it from apple instead (to get an IPad right away) and they said they would only accept the hardware back as an exchange or else they would charge me an $70 restocking fee (somehow they plan to restock broken hardware?) I would be ok with an exchange except they don't have any in stock and I would have to order it and possibly wait another 2 weeks. I also called the Verizon customer service to ask what they would do to make this situation right as through no fault of my own I have been jerked around and they made their problem into my problem. They said they were sorry but there was nothing they could do. This kind of service does not justify the hefty price tag that Verizon and Apple charge for their products. I feel like I would have gotten much better service at AT&T with a different tablet manufacturer for a fraction of the price. read more

Verizon is the #1 cell phone carrier for a reason. The customer here is top notch! The employees really know what they are doing and will go out of their way to hep you in any way they can. I went here on Black Friday with my family in hopes of getting a new phone since I had dropped my Droid 2 Global in the toilet. Trust me, the toilet water was clean and I swear by this! Shit happens. ;) Anyway, I wasn't due for an upgrade till next August so I hoping to cancel my contract and just sign up for a new one since that would be cheaper than paying full retail value for a new phone. Plus, I also would be eligible for the phone discounts that come with a new 2 year contract. With that in mind, I did not realize that I would have to sacrifice my current phone number in order to get a new phone. I really didn't want to do that because it would be such a hassle to tell EVERYONE my new phone number. That's where the helpful Verizon worker came in and solved my predicament! I can't remember his name, but I know it started with an "R." He was a very good sales person and knew his stuff very well! "R" gave my family a set of options that would save us the most money while also keeping in mind of what we really wanted. He went out of his way to make sure my family chose the right option without sacrificing an arm and a leg. Long story short, I got to keep my phone number and walked out with a free Droid Incredible 2 (was free on Black Friday). This experience made me proud to be a Verizon customer. Untrustworthy and sale-motivated. I came in asking the rep to assess the health of my phone as I have been having issues with it's performance lately. He suggested getting a new phone but my main concern was not having everything backed up. I told him I did not use the cloud. Regardless he assured me that if I bought the new phone everything would be mirrored identical onto the new phone. He even assured me that the placement of my icons would be the same. I trusted his word and agreed to get the new iPhone 8 replacing my 6. Everything did not complete being transferred over by the end of our transaction but he assured me that when I got home and connect to WiFi everything would transfer over. This was not the case. Not only were the icons not in the same position (minor issue), but all of my 7000 or so photos were gone, as well as many of my contacts. I had recently backed up my contacts to the cloud yet they are still gone. I called the store the next day and the person I talked to on the phone was not only not helpful, but asked me "what are you going to do about it"? Snidely. I replied "You mean there is nothing you can do"? He replied "yes." Needless to say this was very upsetting... many thousands of photos and important contacts gone instantly. I regret trusting the rep and that is just too bad. Very disappointed in Verizon Wireless sales reps and the way I was treated with complete disregard was terrible. I plan on leaving Verizon as soon as I get the opportunity after over 15 years of loyal business, but unfortunately now I'm locked into a phone payment plan that I essentially got smooth-talked and swindled into. As we experienced multiple times with this store, they truely reminded us that they are today's used car salespersons. Don't walk away from this store.... RUN! These guys are incompetent and give more BS excuses than correct answers. For people who are not experienced with cell phones, this is an example on how Verizon can take advantage (and make money) off of you if you don't do your homework (or have someone to confirm what they are saying is true or not, like we done). I would also be suspicious on anyone giving this store a high rating on a review, which most are probably the elderly where Verizon is making their money... Our experience: Multiple visits to get answer on if our cell phones will have phone service while on vacationing in Spain resulted with a different answer each time store was visited (sound like a used car salesman?). During these visits we were told: "international roaming service just needs to be added", "you'll need to upgrade to a newer phone", "you're all set, and you'll just have a minimal service charge for each call". Thankfully we had a friend who was experienced with phone service while in Spain to confirm if used sales person was giving BS or correct answer... Reality! Spain operates on a GSM network. If you are coming from North America you will probably have a CDMA phone, which will not work in Spain. If you have a GSM phone, you need to check whether your phone is unlocked - some phones are locked in to the network you already have - if it is unlocked you just need a Spanish SIM card. Verizon store had to be revisited 2 more times just to get phone unlocked (first time we were told phone was already unlocked, which we found it wasn't true). Last reluctant visit to store, the Verizon support person didn't know how to unlock phone where he stated that I can just call their customer support # to get the phone unlocked.. At this point I started laughing at these people, rather than show my true frustration. I told the Verizon manager I wasn't leaving again without this issue being resolved and that he will call their support number to get phone unlocked... If you have a Verizon service, we since had found using their phone support is more reliable than wasting time and energy on seeing the used car sales people at Fremont store.. As for our vacation, we purchased our SIM cards at Barcalona airport, which cost us about $25 per phone and we had competent support by airport store who confirmed working phones before leaving store for our 3 week visit.. read more
