I came in and he was finishing up a long transaction with a previous customer. NBD. I explained my situation he told me to just wait a few minutes. Then when he finished he said he had to help another customer who was waiting but she clearly had a much lengthier transaction than just entering my phone number to find out if I have the right plan. Finally walked out after spending 30 mins wasting my time. If you can handle your problem online, do it. If you can go to any other Verizon store, do it. I went to the retailer at the corner of Villa La Jolla and Nobel Dr. To be nice, it was a less than satisfactory experience. To be honest, those guys were awful to me. I guess you have to be someone or something in particular for these guys to be kind or attentive. There was really too much to bang on about, but the blond guy (I'm not going to name names) was very strange towards me and my family member. He was cool for a while, but then became cagey and petulant, I guess when he didn't feel appreciated enough. I think he thought I was his parent and not a customer. Actually the other brunette working there was equally as weird towards us. I've given this months of separation to be as neutral in my judgement as possible. Maybe I was a jerk, right? Certainly possible. But, no. Upon numerous reflections I can see that either he was having a bad week or he just has issues to work out. Either way, I won't be going back, and I have to say, they really made me believe I made the wrong decision going with Verizon. I went today to get options for a new phone since mine was damaged. Even though this store was short staffed (and they had multiple clients) they were paying attention to all of us, which for me was great. Roberto helped me. An incident did occur, where this angry client came in and started going off at Roberto, even though he was helping me. Roberto was very professional and was trying to help the client and proving him answers which angry client would not take. I did get upset at the client, it seemed he was trying to provoke Roberto( he was recording) which Roberto continued providing and excellent service to the angry client. I'm not the account main holder of my line and at the beginning he did explain policies so I did as I was told to do in order to get access to account, if I would've not been able to, I would've not gotten upset, it is what it is. Apparently the guys wife did not come in with any information whatsoever so I'm assuming she misled her husband to this situation. Honestly I hope this does not go any further because as of my opinion I expect a great customer service everywhere I go, and this location and employees overpasses my expectations, even before this incident. Agree with the earlier review on the "scam" run here. With any new device, you are forced to buy a bundle of accessories (including a setup fee). Despite the language regarding "returns" in the sales contract, accessories cannot be returned without returning the device. Reason given to me was that we have such low inventory we have to sell accessories with each phone. This was never made clear when phone was ordered nor when it was provided and is just blatantly anti-consumer. I'd rather be asked to drop change in a jar. Note that the setup for which I was forced to pay was not even complete. I wasn't able to make calls on the phone after leaving the store without resetting the device. I hold Verizon partly responsible for letting this company DBA them. read more

Went in on Monday to upgrade my plan to the unlimited data plan they now offer. Only to be told that I was eligible for this plan because I am not a "new customer" nor am I sharing 3 other lines. I told the salesman I have been a loyal customer for years, baffled that this plan was excluding existing, one line customers. He still did not want to help me out. So I left very dissapointed and ready to switch carriers. Then today I call Verizon myself, got the unlimited plan no problem at all. I would give zero stars if I could! Discrimination and fraud! Masood the manager and other employees are complete liars. They tell you thing, make sales and don't honor a word of what they sell. You cannot reach corporate and they ate the problem. They just settled the largest discrimination case in history and NOTHING has changed. I'm a disabled woman and have had no service but have been charged for over 8 months! They took my phone as a trade in and now refuse to provide the $550 credit. To a disabled person that's over a month of living expenses! I have e mails and texts to prove this but no one will listen. They use Covid as the excuse to no longer provide customer service. They are stealing money from A single disabled woman who they called "retarded" in front of a store full of people. Corporate has done nothing to help! I'm lodging a complaint with the ADA. Do not go here!! They ordered me an iPhone 13 and told me the "taxes and fees" would be $250. When I went back in to pick up the phone and told the sales person I didn't need accessories he looked really confused and said he'd try to lower the bill. He lowered it to just over $200 said my receipt would be emailed to me and it never was. Called customer service to get a receipt and the sales person had added accessories to my bill that we never discussed and I did not leave the store with. Seriously, avoid this store at all costs. The employees are dismissive are condescending, and their business practices are incompetent at best, and at worst, very shady. I ordered a new iPhone, which they said I could get a free iPad with. This was in December, and they said they would order it, and notify me when it came in, but that it might not be until after the new year. I heard nothing for over a month, so I went into the store to see if they had my iPad. She said they canceled the order and she could not give me any explanation as to why, but that a manager would call me back in 2 days. I called Verizon, because none of this seemed right, and they told me that the iPad was delivered to the store and not canceled, so I needed to return to the store with the tracking/delivery information and find out what happened to the device. So I went back to the store, and another employee told me they canceled the order because I didn't pick it up within 14 days. When I explained that no one had contacted me, and that I had been told it might not be in until the new year, she basically shrugged me off. Both employees I spoke with were unapologetic and would accept NO responsibility for the store's mistake. One had some ridiculous excuse of "maybe my number was taken down wrong," and the other just said "if YOU weren't able to be reached, we cancel" as if it were my fault. I received NO phone call. Neither the store, nor Verizon could reorder the free iPad, since the promotion was no longer running. I'm waiting to hear from this manager supposedly on Tuesday, but I'm not holding my breath, and regardless, I've filed a formal complaint with Verizon, and I'm never returning to this store. read more

*THIS IS A REPORT OF MY GOOGLE REVIEW* I had originally switched to Verizon 3 years ago, and the first 6 months were a nightmare. You can see my previous review on the gowireless Verizon store. Tl;Dr previous manager lied about bills, what's free, data, you name it. Over charged for what we didn't want. 2 weeks ago, my phone finally took a shit and I needed something new. I knew I was eligible for an upgrade so I decided to stop in and see what they could do. Upon entering, and them taking stupid 4 minutes in an empty super to acknowledge us, I explained the situation. I explained my phone was dead and needed a new one, and I was eligible for an upgrade. I wanted to wait a couple months since the new phones are coming out and was just looking for a quick fix. The employee proceeded to tell me that, upgrades don't mean anything anymore. I could buy a new phone for full price or buy a cheap phone but not be able to turn it in for credit. Upon hearing this I obviously got a little upset. I told that person that I would go back home and think about it. Later that day, my wife and I went for dinner and talked about it. We went back to Verizon and I asked if they could do anything for me, and they told me not at all. I then told them if they couldn't accommodate or help me I would look at business elsewhere. The guy looked me right in the face and told me, "yeah, I think you should do that." I was so fucking blown away that my wife had to rush me out of there. We ended up walking across the parking lot and switching services within 15 minutes to T-Mobile who cut me a fantastic deal. My iPhone 7 was no longer connecting to data and as a person with no navigation skills whatsoever, being without GoogleMaps and having to travel to different clients everyday was a nightmare. Props to everyone who survived in the world without smartphones cause now I know would end up in a jungle somewhere with no food or water. I went to this Verizon location to determine the problem and their lovely associate, Danielle, switched my SIM to a new one, at no cost to me. It fixed my data connectivity problem immediately and I was in and out in 15 minutes with a working phone! I can not thank Danielle enough for her expertise and understanding. She is a blessing to this store, my life, and someone needs to get her a raise for the way she handled the whole situation. She even gave me her card in case my phone started acting up again so that I could contact her for help. Also heads up, this is the ONLY corporate Verizon location in La Jolla. I accidentally went to an authorized retailer a couple blocks away and they almost convinced me that my phone is dead and I have no choice but to get a new one (super tech illiterate here, so I almost believed them). Beware - their shady behavior to scam their customers happens all the time! I recently upgraded my phone and was shocked that my bill was more than twice the amount they told me. I immediately asked for an itemized receipt so I could understand the breakdown, and he told me that I needed to sign in order to get the printed receipt. I then learned that he charged me over $150 in accessories (including a charger I never requested) and a set-up fee. When I went to return the $40 charger I never asked for, I was told I couldn't get a full refund because they bundle accessories (which he never told me). On top of that, he added phone insurance to my plan without ever discussing this with me so I was shocked to see my monthly bill go up. The person I worked with is named in several other reviews, so clearly I am not the first customer he has done this to. So if you want unethical, non-transparent service that takes advantage of their customers, go here. read more

Don't go to this store. I went here to switch my old plan to the unlimited because I had gone over my data limit. I was told that the only way I could change was to purchase two hotspots and be on a contract. I questioned the salesman repeatedly and he told me that "he knew it seemed like Verizon cares only about new customers but they do favor new customers" so upgrading the plan required purchasing $300 worth of devices. I told him I wouldn't even use a hot spot let alone two. He wouldn't budge and said it was the only way to avoid overage. I stupidly went ahead and bought them. When I got home I called Verizon and they said it was absolutely not a requirement to buy more devices to switch and that I could return the hotspots. When I did, the rep was rude and made me pay the re-stocking fee of $70! Lesson learned at a steep price. read more

Yesterday I found out I needed to switch to a new phone plan. I was currently with AT&T and they were making it very difficult to stay with them. Very rude and treated my questions as if they were stupid. Called Verizon and they answered all my questions with ease. Great customer service. Went there after work yesterday to let them know I needed to switch from AT & T but wanted to keep my same phone number. Unfortunately, I was not able to keep my same phone because the model 7 through AT&T didn't allow it but I was able to do a trade in. Got the new phone 11 pro and a great promotion. Josh was so wonderful and patient. We ran into a hiccup transferring over - an error on AT&T's side. So things took about two hours. But Josh was so polite and patient. Even stayed an hour after they closed to help get my problem resolved. I'm very happy to be with verizon now! read more

Before I went in the store I was concerned that my phone was going to be taken to a back room and out of my sight. Danielle sat down next to me so the entire process was completely transparent. When I indicated that I wanted to wait for the new release she added me to the waitlist. I am not a technology person so the basic things I didn't understand didn't bother her and she didn't rush me at all. Danielle was knowledgeable, patient, and transparent. I really need people to read this. My wife and I went into this store on 8/17/18 at 4pm on her bday. She wanted and NEEDED an upgrade. They were busy but after only waiting 5 min we were helped by Glen. Long story short...Glen did NOT let us upgrade without trying his BEST to give my wife the best and lowest deal. Not only did my wife get exactly what she wanted, but Glen managed to save her family plan $30-40 a month, get unlimited data (while they only had 10gb to share between 5 accts), and finally get her mom a new phone for FREE). It was a current promo with iPhone, but still! Glen went above and beyond and we walked outta there extremely happy and appreciative of what he managed to do for us. I cannot say enough about Glen. Please give him the credit he deserves!! Two other people were working alongside Glen...Danielle and the mgr(I think), Veronica. As I mentioned, we were there during a busy time and while Glen was helping us out, they were busy helping others as well. I overheard Danielle missed out on her lunch order from Mendocino Farms next door. The poor girl worked right through her break and didn't finally get to her order till at least an hour later. Cmon now, that is excellent service if you ask me. I also witnessed Danielle in action with a somewhat difficult customer. He was an older gentleman and just needed extra attention and care. Danielle did absolutely everything and said everything she could to help him out. Her customer left the store happy and he got exactly what he wanted. And again, like Glen, she went ABOVE and BEYOND expectation. Finally, Veronica was there working her butt off. I didn't see her stop moving from one end of the store to the other. My wife needed to step out so I was left waiting for her new phone to upload/download. Veronica was wonderful. She answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. If she is in fact the Mgr, I can see why Danielle and Glen are so great. I would love to work for someone like that. Veronica, Danielle, and Glen all made sure I was doing ok and made me feel comfortable. They didn't just forget about me since their obligations with me were done. Since I was still there, they still cared that I was there! Please understand that...each of these three individuals took care of me (and my wife) before and after our transaction. I have not had such a memorable and outstanding customer service experience like this in a long time. Please give Glen, Danielle, and Veronica the credit they absolutely deserve because they went above and beyond expectations. I cannot say enough about our experience at this store with these three individuals. We will absolutely go back here and tell everyone we know to go here and ask for any one of them. read more

I needed to upgrade my 88 year old mother's iphone 4S to an 6S, because her new hearing aids only work with iphones6 or 7(!). I phoned this store, and Veronica warmly and efficiently answered all of my questions, including explaining that we could call 611, add me to Mom's account as a Manager, and Mom wouldn't even have to come into the store for the transaction. All went exactly as Veronica said it would, I was able to pick up the phone we wanted in the store, and the charges were exactly as expected.
