    I was a 21 year customer of AT&T internet and phone. AT&T recently installed fiber in our…read moreneighborhood, and I will make a side note that while they were installing the fiber optic in our neighborhood, they hit the water lines twice and the gas lines once period. However, I digress. A salesman came to her house and ask if we would like to switch to AT&T fiber. I advised that I was happy with your uverse currently, but I would consider it later, at no time did they advise me my internet would end and I was mandated to switch. A couple days later, I was working from home and 11 AM my internet turned off. I rebooted and went through the normal procedures, and then called ATT to check on it. They advised initially that I had to switch to fiber optic , and that's why it was cut off. I was then transferred to the cancelation department and was advised there was an outage in the area and that it would come back on. Customer service acknowledged that I was never advised that my service would end and the service never came back on. So basically, AT&T installed fiber optic in my area cut me off with later, emaiedl saying I would have to July 14 to make the change before it was cut off. Advancing technology and change is not my issue. It was how it was handled with not giving me at least a week or 2 to make changes and possibly keep AT&T with fiber. Don't think there is any loyalty with AT&T. I was a 21 year customer never late on one bill, yet they cut me off.
