Terrible experience. What part of I just want a phone do you not understand. Verizon has trained their drones terribly to continue to badger clients that are not interested. It is offensive. Furthermore, the entire system is terrible. From making people basically get on the computer and order their own phone, to making them use a computer to make a stupid payment, it is clear that Verizon has lost the meaning of customer service. They have terribly complicated what should be an easy sales transaction to the point everyone in the store looked annoyed. it is terrible. i would rather go to the doctor. The management at this store needs changing, the employees need retraining, and the system needs to be less complicated just to buy a stupid phone. I tried to use your website from 4 different computers, a pad, and my phone to make this purchase because your stores are notorious for terrible service in this area. Your website would not allow me to finalize my transaction on any browser on any computer. Believe I tried. Your site is almost as bad as the store. Update your java, or flash, or something. But what is even more offensive is that you just suggested that I not go to your store for better service. Here is my question? Why pretend there is service in the store at all when there really is not. All your sales reps do is try to hard sell bundles and cases, while making your customer access their own account on your computers there to make the changes to their own account. That is not service. That is a computer tutorial that I can assure you most customers do not appreciate. If I wanted to look up and change my own account and order my own phone on line while some lady harassed me to buy a case I repeatedly told her I did not want, I would get my wife a job there and just do it from home. But your site stinks also, and even your employee could not make it work. You have trained your staff to be this way. Do not act as if you are going to "coach and train" them to be different. What you need to coach and train them to do is to lay off the stupid pitch you probably make them practice every morning at a "team meeting" when your customer expresses clearly he has no interest. If your staff has success with this approach of manipulation on people who are open to it, then fine. But when a customer clearly states several times they do not want the case and a woman goes on and on about her husband and his case trying to hard sell me long after I expressed I wanted nothing more than a phone, people get pissed and frustrated. I like Verizon's product and coverage. I hate your stores, your site, and your attempt to distance yourself from your customers. After the third time I told this woman I did not want the case I nearly stopped the entire deal and waited 4 months for my contract to expire. If I thought any of the other companies were remotely better, I would have. So there you have it. I appreciate the stock response, but until you actually change some policies and procedures I will know that this is just hot air from a customer service person programed to mitigate responses on yelp and nothing more. When I walked in the store there was a man at the door who asked, "What are you here for today?" and I said, "To purchase the iPhone6" and he said he would check me in and that there was a 30 minute wait to talk to a sales person. I wasn't too pleased with the wait since I had a 4 year old with me, but it was 2 days after Christmas, so I guess they were busier than normal (I assume). We waited the 30 minutes & got to talk to a sales person. After he tried to sell us EVERYTHING he possibly could, he said he would go in the back and get the phone. Well, he came back with nothing saying that there weren't any left, but he had an iPhone6PLUS that I could take home today. I said no to the iPhone6Plus. I HIGHLY doubt that the man that checked us in didn't know they were out of the iPhone6 and I HIGHLY doubt that the sales person that let us sit in there for an hour now (with our 4 year old) didn't know that they were out of the iPhone6 (as busy as they were). I really think this is DIRTY sales and I am VERY upset about it. I ordered the phone because I didn't feel like going to another store and using up another hour of my time. So, in the end they got what they set out to do, which is nab my business by not telling me they were out of the phone I wanted. They know that if they had told me that at the door then I would have went to one of the other stores in the area to purchase my phone and had it in hand that same day. Some other things I want to mention; 1) The sales person kept trying to get me to buy a watch for my son that would communicate with my iPhone and kept offering to add an additional $5 to my plan for it's function. I think asking once is enough and if I say no, please stop. 2) The sales person decided to later bring out the watch and show it to my son and asked him if he liked it and said it's blue and probably his favorite color. This seriously made me angry. Again, very DIRTY sales. 3) As if having the iPhone in stock wasn't bad enough, the sales person decided not to overnight it or 2-day ship it to my house so after tracking my order I find out that I will get it Wednesday by 8pm (4 days later). I am a Customer Service Trainer for a subsidiary of a fortune 500 company; good service includes being honest and not pushing other products TOO hard on the customer. On a Thursday Night, we waited nearly an hour for the privilege of talking with someone concerning purchasing a new phone...This was after the sign up guy at the front door told us our wait would be 10-15 mins. He quickly back peddled when I mentioned his estimate 45 mins. later. To me that is unacceptable. I mentioned this to the manager and his attitude was this is not a rarity. I suggested he needs more staff and while he seemed to agree, he doesn't really have the authority to add more employee hours. People standing around not helping anyone. Long wait for no reason. Employees can't budge from their personal converstaion to help a customer with a side by side 2 baby stroller who was having trouble geting through the door on the way out to calm his crying babies. On they way back in again they didn't help so I did. Talk to us like we were retarded, so we called her out on it. Wouldn't even listen to the fact we were assured by Verizon over the phone multiple times we could just go in and buy the phone I wanted with no problems... obviously that didn't happen. Went to buy an iphone 4s with my mother in law, who is not very tech savy to say the least. The sales woman, Ashlee, was incredibly rude, pushy and sold using scare tactics. I would not recommend working with this employee at this store as she has very poor customer service and did not take care of her customers needs, but clearly what was good for her. Several of her co-workers saw our interactions and her aggressive approach and combativeness towards me, and they did not attempt to help with our situation either. The worst Verizon store I have ever been too. You can tell that they hate there jobs. I went in to down grade my phone because the phone they gave me broke 3 times under warranty. The lady there got me going and said that because of "Backup Assist" I could just go on line and download my contacts to my phone.Ok simple enough...Or not! I didn't work. So I went back. I was having serious phone issues due to the fact that we had switched from Verizon to T-Mobile and then back to Verizon. I went to the Verizon store in Pleasant Hill where Meena seriously set about trying to solve the problem. She was very knowledgeable and capable, but she still couldn't solve the problem. She pulled Kristina Scott, her manager in to see if she had more tricks up her sleeve. It was thought that the other phone company had configured my phone to work on their network which can be irreversible. They both worked tirelessly for a couple of hours trying everything they could to get it to work. Finally, success! At no point, did they try to sell me a new phone, even though mine was almost 2 years old. I did ask about buying a new one and Meena showed me a reasonable option but said she wanted to keep trying to get my phone to work. I really appreciated the honesty and professionalism that they both exhibited. When I do need a new phone, you can bet that I will buy it from that location. read more

After I was not eligible for an upgrade but still needed a new phone, I was forced to add a second line. After doing that, they told me to just bring an old verizon phone into a store to get it activated. A few weeks later I made the mistake of coming to this verizon with the old phone. I was helped by "Lilia" who apparently is clueless. Despite not being told I only had a certain amount of time to get the second line activated (or else I would have to pay a fee), Lilia advised me I would have to pay about $30 for the 2nd line data package because I did not bring in the phone earlier. Not that it matters but this is a flip phone not even capable of using that kind of package. More importantly, Lilia tells me she activated the phone and it is up and working. Without checking it, I go home. Although I have had it, I never tried using it because I have the main phone that I use. Fast forward to 2 1/2 months later, I tried to make a call on the phone only to discover it had yet to be activated. Thanks to Lilia, I have been paying 2 1/2 months for a second line to a phone that isnt even activated. As I expected, verizon customer service was unable to credit me anything. read more

Every time I come in here it takes forever! This time it took over 3 hours. Totally ridiculous! The sales guy was nice, but clueless! Unless you have all day to waste don't come to this location. I cannot wait until October 2011 for my contract to be over. I get dropped calls consistently, text messages that won't send or be received. I have had 6 replacement phones and in order to switch to another phone model (cheaper than my original). I had to buy my own battery, back cover and charger- how tacky!! Verizon has done a good job of marketing itself but in truth they offer subpar service, terribly unreliable phones and extremely expensive plans. I will NOT be renewing. In particular reference to this location- they are super fast to want to help you if you are interested in purchasing a phone, but once they find out you need technical support- the service dries up quickly. read more

Kristina Scott,solutions manager at Verizon in Pleasant Hill, Ca is extremely helpful in making sure her customers obtain what is needed. I had a situation where I was to pick up the phone on site I had ordered the phone on the Verizon Internet site and the paperwork processed for the phone to be sent to my house in error. She worked diligently to correct the error so that I could pick up the phone while I was there. It's refreshing to work with someone who truly cares. read more

Horrible customer service/interaction. This is one of the worst cellular service stores I have been to. The Sales Associate was unknowledgable in a variety of their products, especially their newest phone in which I was solely there for. After months of pushed back release dates, the XPERIA PLAY was released on Thursday, May 26th and none of the associates could tell me anything about it that I didnt already know from their website. I then started to explore other options as the phone and associates did not meet my expectations and still no useful information was provided. After an unimpressive stint with this CORPORATE store, switching from AT&T may be a bad idea. I would expect a little more effort in gaining knowledge and understanding the consumers needs and hopefully accomodating it in some way. I was thoroughly unimpressed with any of the associates in the store, so I will drive an extra 15 minutes in the other direction to get more info on other phones and services. I eventually found the INCREDIBLE 2 met my wifes needs and will continue to shop for my phone but I will NOT purchase anything or have any type of interaction with the PLEASANT HILL store from here on out. $400 loss on their part and new service contract. read more

The only reason I give them a second star is because the people who work in the store are friendly and courteous. Other than that, this company and the way their retail stores run should rank one star at best. I'm told to put my name on a list to get help. Of course the list is categorized so that customers who want to activate service get helped immediately and those who need help with their existing service get to wait. How about just helping on a first come first served basis? Oh wait, if that were the case there would be a line in stead of a queue and the Wal-Mart greeter at the front door might actually have to work. Meanwhile there are five reps helping the guy who wants to get signed up with them. Wow do they really split their commissions that many ways? I had to make a scene to get some help so it's fortunate that I don't mind doing so. Those of you who are more timid will have to wait longer. Verizon has some of the highest rates available but apparently that hasn't allowed them to hire anyone who knows the first thing about how to run a corporate store. I always leave Verizon frustrated. It's kind of weird how there were so many reviews on this place, from either really bad to really good. I just went to this place yesterday to switch phones from ATT (crappy crappy customer service) to Verizon (a place I never expected to go through again)... First off, the customer service rep who was helping me was extremely extremely helpful. His name was Victor and so far the best PHONE customer service guy I ever met. He was very patiently and answered all our questions and was there the whole time we ever needed anything. Secondly, I was paying $142 for ATT and the stupid people there never gave my discount since I started (read my review on ATT), but this time my mom used her discount from work and now we're only paying $147, but with 3 LINE, 2100 MINUTES, UNLIMITED TEXTING and TOP 10 NUMBERS.. geeze I should have switched over to this company faster and their coverage so far has been very compatible and the phone is phone prices are pretty moderate. Come here!! See Victor (all the other guys were just sitting there, prowling and staring like vultures) If you want someone to take time with you and not attack you like the usual commission employees, see this guy. Had a Xoom laying around that I figured I would get activated. First I couldn't do this over the phone. I had to go into a store to activate. OK that's fine. Explain to the lady I had the 4g LTE upgrade done to the XOOM and I wanted it activated. Get's my info signs me up for an account. Boom, that was easy. Takes me over to the very friendly (being sarcastic) activation lady and I am met with a blank stare. For 30 min I wait for the tablet to activate. Just awkward silence persists and met with that blank stare again. I explain that I installed a custom ROM for my Android tablet and that it might not be supported yet. Of course it's my fault. Then she tells me "you can wait here for it to activate or take it home and call customer service" Thanks! I will take it home and figure it out. Wasted my lunch hour. The extra star is for Verizon Customer Service. The guy I talked to was awesome and knew his stuff. I get home, revert back to the stock Android version it originally came with as I don't want any problems with Tech Support. Talk to the guy and he tells me they didn't activate my tablet correctly. Apparently the women at Verizon wasn't listing to me when I told her and showed her the 4g Sim card. They activated the card as a 3G, so there is no way it would have worked and my custom ROM would have had no effect on the tablet activating. Currently the tablet is working properly but only after about 4 hours of my time wasted. Would never do business at that Verizon store again. read more

Dear Verizon associates, I am writing to inform you that the Verizon Store on 622 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant HIll, CA 94523, is implementing a Privacy Procedure that may be a violation of customer rights. I am filing a complaint because I was horrendously surprised at the poor treatment I had when I only wanted to ask the price of phones. I have never owned a smart phone before, but I was ready to purchase one for myself, a plan, AND buy a Gizmo watch for my son. I delayed buying one for years. And there I was walking into that Verizon Store, when the first thing I was asked was all my private information. I am a monthly subscriber with Verizon, so fine, I gave them my phone number. All I wanted to do was ask about the variety of phone first. But then I was asked for my drivers license. They refused to answer ANY sales questions unless I gave it to them. The manger also did the same. It became a horrendous argument over getting my drivers license before they could just tell me how much a service costs. I was undecided whether to start a new service or transfer my current number. That wasn't on my mind. The fact is. My drivers license and ID is private, as a person just walking into a store. NO OTHER business requires an ID before they talk to you!!! I was so insulted. They said every customer has to give their ID before they talk to them. But when I looked around NO ONE ELSE were showing their ID. I seemed to then be targeted for no reason. Why were they targeting and treating me like a criminal when I was totally ready to make a big purchase. This is NOT the way to do business, let alone taking people's private information when they're only shopping. When I had to argue just to get prices, the store manager just asked what I wanted, but I was there needing help with what there was available. They were so poorly trained. I started to hate Verizon, but have been loyal for 20 years. When I walked out, I walked across the street to T-Mobil, and right away they answered questions on pricing and phone. SO SIMPLE!!!!!!!!! No ID's, no harrassments!! You should reconsider your private policy to stop intruding on the public because they walk in your store. This is a kind of harrassment.
