She called in quickly and after a few exchanges with reps, she was able to get the issue resolved. I have sold from pizzas to cars... so yes I think I have a little bit of an idea of how customers should be treated. Specially when they have been a customer for 5 years paying more for family plan than my own car!!! I ordered a phone from corporate and set up a phone call for the set up of the phone. 10 o'clock came by and I did not get the call from the rep. I proceed to call Verizon only to get another rep to assist me and as he was assisting me the call dropped. Neither my phone or my son's phone were working. I got busy with work so I couldn't go to the store at around 3 o'clock. I went to the store and explain my situation to them. Mind you not I had already paid for the activation fee over the phone when I first got the phones. This 20 some age girl start rushing me and asking me which one was the first phone that she was gonna get activated and then proceeded to tell me that if I needed any back up done that she was going to charge up to $60 for two lines. I told her I had not had my phone working for the whole morning and I had already paid activation fee over the phone. She was rushing me, giving me attitude and being super passive aggressive. I asked her to bring the MANAGER over and by then there was a store manager, a sales person, assistant manager, all standing there, and watching this girl, be passive aggressive with me. I'm 45 years old have been a customer for five years. I was not gonna be talked down to by some girl who just came out of working the drive thru at McDonald's?! I walked out of there and they now have lost six customers. I don't know when the phone companies decided the customers should be in between the Warzone that it has become getting service without the sales person getting their commission. These internal bureaucracy is ridiculous.! Being in Customer Service for 25 years I could never have treated any of my customers the way I was treated today! Verizon Wireless in Arlington Heights, IL is the ABSOLUTE worst. Terrible customer service, don't return phone calls or texts. I had a phone that was shipped to the store for my business and supposed to arrive on Friday. It didn't arrive until Monday, which did not help me because I had to fly back home on Saturday. I requested they ship it next day so that I have it on Tuesday. They agreed. Here it is on Wednesday and it still has not shipped. They tell me it's on FedEx for not picking it up. I told them to call and have it picked up or send UPS next day air. They said that's not how it works. I was told I should contact my IT department and place the order through another store. Victor the Assistant Manager does not respond back. How difficult is it to ship out a package? It's no wonder your store received such terrible reviews. The staff at this location were not the issue; my concern was with a representative from Verizon's customer service. I visited the store and wanted to just open my own Verizon account, and one of the employees had assisted me by calling customer service to facilitate the transfer. When the call was connected, a male representative asked for my name. After I provided it, he randomly responded by saying my name was "pathetic." I had not said anything to him prior to that comment, and the store employee assisting me looked surprised by his remark as well before taking over the call. I asked her if she had dialed the correct number, as I initially suspected it might have been a scam due to the inappropriate behavior. She confirmed it was indeed Verizon's official customer service line. The representative then commented again, insisting it was the correct number and the only one that could assist me. Because of the unprofessional conduct, I did not feel comfortable proceeding with opening my own account through Verizon, so the employee ended the call and then the man that was on the phone did call back and left a voicemail, which did include his name after we had hung up with him, however he did not state why he was calling back, but I assume it was to try and find another way for me to open my own account . read more

The folks are super nice and some get you out and functioning and on your way. We've upgraded 4 lines in as many weeks and this location is 1 and 3. We had to return to the store with 3 of 4 devices because they were not activated, would not make calls or receive them, would not receive text messages. This is regarding poor service I recieved at the Verizon Wireless at the location 1251 E. Higgins Road, Schaumburg, Illinois on 2.3.24 at about 6:00 pm. I had placed an order online for a Galaxy S24 Ultra Plus and went to that location to pick the phone up. I was greeted by and older asian male who looked up my order on his tablet and told me that it was "pending". He did not tell me the reason why but told me to call customer service to see what the issue may be. I checked my phone and noticed that I received an email from Verizon stating "Unfortunately, there was a payment failure and we were unable to complete your order with the payment information you provided. Please use the following secure link to complete your order. The link will allow you to resubmit your payment information or use a different payment method." I clicked the link and tried several times to make the payment and it failed multiple times even through there were funds available. After attempting multiple times, I received an error message that prevented me from making any more payments. A few minutes later I spoke to another Verizon representative at the store, he was a younger gentleman; I told him I ran into issues with making the payment online. He looked up my order on his tablet and also said that the status was "pending" . He told me that he had no idea what the issue was and later handed me a long list of phone numbers and told me to call the "loyaly customer line". I was appalled by that statement because I expected them to help me figure out what the issue was. Both representatives (including a female representative) did not appear interested in helping me with the issue and all three representatives said that it was "pending" and they had no idea why. I called the loyalty phone number at the store and spoke to a representative that told me that I had to pay for taxes. I told him I was confused because I had already made full payment and that I used my Verizon dollars to pay for that. I told him that I could no longer visit the link since there was an error message. After multiple failed attempts to explain to me what the issue was, he finally told me that I had to cancel the order and re-order the phone. After I hung up the phone, I spoke to the same older asian male (manager?) and asked him again if he could help me understand the problem. He told me again that he could not do anything since the order was "pending". I asked if I could cancel the order and re-order it again and he told me no because the store was closing in 7 minutes. I was appalled by the customer service I received both onsite and on the phone. I left the store dissapointed and confused as to why no one was interested in helping me out with my online order. When I arrived home, I called customer service again and finally spoke to a representative that helped me understand what the issue was. He explained to me that I did make full payment and the initial email requesting tax payment was in error. He told me that the reason why the status was pending was because the phone had not arrived at the store. He was professional and helped me understand what the issue was. My main concern is that I have been a Verizon customer for many years and have never received such poor treatment. I was appalled that a Verizon store rep would tell me to call the "loyalty" hotline for help when they could have helped me. Overall, I'm extremely dissapointed with this service. read more

Verizon as very helpful this visit. I love the phone I got here last year, replacing an older Android. I put a new case on my phone and the screen started going dark at key times. I stopped in at around 11:30 AM on a weekday. There were literally five employees waiting to help people. No customer was there other than me. I expected I was going to end up replacing the phone. The person who was going to check me in asked what was going on. He took one look and simply said I had blocked a sensor. We removed and put the case back on. Voila - good as new. Still, way on the expensive side and even though they have gotten rid of contracts, the phones are so darned expensive they lock you in with a payment plan. I have three phones through them, pay out the nose, and typically have had to wait long times for service. Never seem to have to wait for sales. Hmmm... But, I don't necessarily trust the other brands, and most of them lease Verizon's network. I feel like my arch nemesis works here... Or, I just keep getting the same guy who hates my guts as my helper when I come in. Honest to god, of all the people who hate my guts, this guy takes the cake. I've gotten him 3 different times and every time it's all eye rolls and mental 'why me?'s. It's not like I choose to have him as my associate when I go in, it's just the un-luck of the draw that we keep getting paired together. So I have this POS iPhone that doesn't hold a charge and erases all it's memory 3 times a day. Apparently, it also hasn't been backing itself up since the days of my Blackberry, and there's nothing I or Verizon can do about it. Fine, whatever. My sh*t doesn't work, but the attitude I get from this guy... un.f*cking.believable. This place used to be incredible. Sadly, all the staff that knew what they were doing, understood kindness and customer care, or were just plain efficient, are gone from this location. I walked in to hear the manager of this store in a fight with a customer. He then threatened to cancel the customer, his wife, and their entire family's service because he felt the customer was being rude. I've never seen or heard anything like this. The customer looked like he was so pissed he was going to go to his car and get a gun. It was seriously insane how unsafe you felt watching this all unfold and watching the store manager lose complete control of the situation. To make things worse, the guy and his wife leave and this manager gets into another fight with some Russian dude and his girlfriend. This time it was about some sales person there lying to him that he would not have a new contract for some iPad or something but later found out everything the sales guy said was a lie. He just wanted the iPad returned and to cancel the new plan and fees. Instead, the manager treated him like he was complete dog sh@#. "I don't know who you talked to! I have no idea to verify what you're saying is true! Who was your salesperson?!" These morons know full-well they can look up every sale and see who the customer talked to. It's all BS and it's just shocking this guy is a store manager. He is better suited for a role as Casino security than a Verizon store manager. Anyway, to make things even worse. I watch 2 other heated exchanges, nobody checks me in for 10 min and then finally someone tells me I'll be 3rd in line. That ends up being another hour and 20 minutes of waiting around. This store used to be something to look forward to. There was this sweet sales rep who managed business accounts and would literally say, "ok no prob I'll take care of this for you and text you when it's done. Here's my cell if you want to follow up!" I would be in and out in 5 minutes. Everything was always super fast, efficient and super smooth. Now it's like entering the 7th ring of hell. I would sooner go an get a colonoscopy with a roto-rooter than come to this Verizon store for even a cell phone case. If you do come, wear a bulletproof vest because chances are the moron manager has pissed off enough people that something is going to go down while you're there. I wonder if Verizon is aware at how bad their image is based on the cheap help they hire that is so poorly trained and unable to make decisions that will help the customer over follow some strict rule? These clowns can make all the lame superbowl ads they want, but in the end, you guys hire complete garbage to run your stores and you will quickly find that no amount of fancy ads will make up for the torture you put your customers through in your stores. I called them to ask advice about an expanding (blowing up) battery in my s7, and all they would do for me is let me buy a new phone! Thanks. I asked them what battery is in my phone and they refused to tell me saying batteries couldn't be replaced, that phone replacement was the only option. I was told I'm a good long standing customer so they might be able to get me a deal, but I'd be paying out at least $150. I went to the Verizon website and got the same thing. So I stopped by iFix Clinic in Elk Grove on Biesterfield. Heeding the clinic's advice I bought a new battery (they told me what to get) $20 including next day air on Amazon, stopped by the clinic and they had it installed within 30 minutes for an additional $40. In less than 24 hours my phone is as good as new, fo $60, no thanks to Verizon. Will be switching to T mobile soon. read more

Even store manager confirm that my account can qualify for the offer. Two weeks later we've received the bill stating that "Unfortunately you didn't receive the promotional credit because the requirements were not met". I visit the store to discuss the problem they asked me if I remember who did I talked to and when. Without the names they can't do anything and my account doesn't qualify for the offer. Same thing happened a year before when I switched two other devices. Special offer, first bill without credit and "we can't do anything about it". Just got a new phone on May 15th at the other Verizon location on Algonquin Road, since this location was closed at the time. I waited 2 hours to go pick up my phone at the other location (just a simple flip phone). Go it home set it up and it worked OK until June 4th, battery would not hold a charge, tried recharging over night twice, and within 1/2 hour the phone was totally dead. The back of the phone was very warm, but again the battery was dead in short order. Tried to take it back to the place where I picked it up, got there and there was ONE person helping customers and we had to wait in our cars, after being told it would be at least a 1 hour wait, we decided to take it back to the larger location that just reopened today. Got there and was told they would take care of us. We were told we would have to BUY a new battery (for a 20 day old phone)? Then when they found out were it came from, the told us we would have to go back there, since we bought it from a (third party) store?? The other location has a Verizon sign on the front and ONLY a Verizon sign?? My husband then asked the Manager of the store "do you catch" he replied "yes" so my husband tossed him his phone which the Manager batted away, so it fell to the floor, and since my phone was already on the counter. We left and went down the street to Sprint to get 2 new phones. The Manager was very rude as well as the young lady taking care of us. So they must sell their OLD outdated equipment to "third parties" as well as their signage, SO BEWARE of where you get a Verizon phone from. When I asked associates to do it they were "too busy" or outright refused. I can see liability issues but you couldn't have someone just walk me through me doing it myself? I had an independent distributor frankly tell me the ins and outs of how to get what I needed, since he could not do what I asked. Other times I've had larger stores give me no end of grief trying to get what I wanted. I've had such bad service at the larger stores that I almost flew into a rage. Anyways, once I got my problem squared away with the corporate HQ, I got what I wanted. Overall I've always had great coverage and reception. Cons: Cost, Verizon Operating System irritatingly overrides most phones, Verizon locks down many phone features that you have to hack. Upon walking in, we were informed by what appeared to be the manager that there were 2 employees, 2 people in front of us in line, and they probably wouldn't get to us before closing time (they close at 8, this was at 7). Despite being discouraged from entering the store, we decided to wait. While waiting, we looked around the store. The manager had clearly lied to us; there were at least 5 employees that we could see from the sales floor. When my sister approached one of them, he told her he would not help her because he was waiting to help someone else. He then walked up to the manager and the customer whom he was helping, and just stood there. He didn't do anything! He then followed the manager to the back of the store to help another girl waiting in line who was becoming extremely impatient. At this point, I began to notice that the store was filling up, and possibly some of the people who entered behind us were in fact already being helped by one of the 5 employees, even though supposedly there were only 2 employees! Finally, we were so irritated that we left. My sister made an excellent point- we don't want to be helped by someone who doesn't want to help us, because they'll probably do a terrible job. At the end of the day, we did not get anything done. The manager was an inefficient tool who ran his store to be nearly as inefficient as he himself was. We have always been fine with Verizon as a carrier, but we will absolutely never return to this store. iPhone 6!!!!! This was the only store location I could find on the Chicagoland area that had the phone IN-STOCK!!! Pretty easy process as far as the whole switching providers go... As soon as I approached the store I was greeted with a smile and a welcome. Immediately they assessed my needs and got my new, pretty phone. There was even a promo going on where I was able to pick up several accessories (car charger, case, tempered glass, mophie battery charger..)for less than I would have normally paid for the phone by itself! Julio helped me pick out the most cost-effective and practical accessories for my needs. Holy cow. I am in total shock after visiting my local corporate owned Verizon store located at 1249 E. Higgins Road in Schaumburg, IL. 60173. 6 weeks ago in January 2018 I was in Grand Rapids, MI, when my car charger stopped working for my smart phone. I went to a corporate owned store and was treated with respect and kindness. The employee saw the charger had for some reason shorted out and quickly gave me a new one. He updated my account on the computer and I was on my way. Today February 9th, 2018 I disconnected my car charger and the silver piece that goes into my phone had broken off. I thought no big deal so I went to the Schaumburg store to exchange this 6 week old charger for a new one. I felt nobody was at fault and things just break. I entered the store and gave my name so when someone was available I would be helped. I was holding the charger I walked in with and the store manager Marissa approached me asking how she could help. Help was the last thing this arrogant, rude and snotty person could possibly do. I explained what had happened and she asked me for my receipt which I have always been told by corporate Verizon stores is not necessary as everything is electronically documented on my account.She pretended to look up my account and told me I NEVER did any business with Verizon in Michigan??? She said all she could do would be to sell me a new charger. I was livid and pissed off is putting it mildly. The store was filled with people and I politely made a store announcement letting everybody in the store know that this store was operating under unethical business practices. I said that they refuse to locate my receipt on a product that is only sold by Verizon Corporate stores and they do not stand behind their products. Marissa told me to leave or she would call the Police. As a retired Police officer and with a child who is currently a Deputy Sheriff in Illinois I told her to call whomever she wanted. While waiting for the Police I called Verizon on my cell phone and spoke to Alexis at customer service. I explained the situation to her and within 15 seconds she found my transaction on January 6th in Michigan showing a new charger was issued to replace a defective one. Alexis said to put the store manager Marissa on the phone and she could resolve the issue quickly. I thought finally someone who knows how to deal with the public. Marissa took my phone and disappeared to the back of the store talking to Alexis. Finally Marissa came back to me and handed me the phone to talk to Alexis. I asked Alexis if all was ok and would I get a new charger? She said in a very apologetic voice that Marissa told her I intentionally broke the charger. I would like you to imagine every cuss, swear, and insult ever heard by mankind and that was what was going thru my mind. When the Police arrived I had a private conversation with them and they asked me if I wanted to make a Police report. I remember those reports and in this case the Police are needed on the streets protecting the public and I would not waste their time. I am going to small claims court as when I left 2 customers that were in the store approached my car and personally thanked me for putting "That Bitch" in her place. I took their info in case I need witnesses in court. As I was going onto Yelp the last complaint was at the same store with the same manager. Please read that complaint and Verizon PLEASE get your head out of the sand and send in a secret shopper to be taken care of by Marissa. At this point I must add that when I spoke to Alexis in customer service I asked who could possibly look at this charger to determine if foul play was involved because Marissa never even handled the charger. I was given this address 501 Spears Creek Church Road in Elgin, South Carolina 29045. So after this defective charger is received and it is determined that it is defective what does Verizon plan on doing to correct this situation and please let me know when the going away party for Marissa will be because I do not want to miss it. I have has Verizon business for almost 2 years. The service is decent but the data charges has to go. I originally started with 5 lines which 3 were cell,one home phone system and one tabket. Of 15 gb of data. After a couple months I was going over in data and I upped it to 20 after calling bc of my data overage, then I upped it to 30 bc I was going over 3 gigs like the other plans and now I'm at 40 gb. How is that possible when I have WiFi at home and WiFi at my office. I swear I'm on the phone every month. I told the operator each time that calling every month for over a year to fix a issue in data is getting old. I get compd here and there but what business owner has time to call every month. The business customer service is not open on the weekend. So good luck if you have issues. The website is confusing not easy to navigate. Be careful paying on line bc I did on several occasions and it didn't go through. My phones were shut off with no warning and I got a email 8 days after I paid saying there was a issue. The business portion of Verizon definitely needs more work to keep my business. I try to give them a chance but I am really un happy they are the pricier one in the mobile industry. read more

The lady at the counter told me my contract wasn't up until... wait for it... the very next day. I received an offer from Verizon to trade in my old Samsung phone for a new Samsung S21 5G. I was on vacation in IL at the time and went to this store in June 2021. They processed the order which said that I would get a trade-in value of $679.99 for my phone. When the new phone arrived (at my daughter's house), it included a label to return my old phone. I did that within 10 days and my phone was received by Verizon in Ft. Worth, TX in early July. I have waited 3 billing statements for the credit for my returned phone and I've called each time. Today, a customer service agent finally figured out that the store coded my transaction wrong as a store credit. I didn't get a store credit and was never asked if I wanted it. Now, I can't get the problem fixed to received the credit unless I "walk into the store." I live in Arizona so it's not feasible to "walk into the store" in Illinois. Customer service can't do anything for me and there is no way to call the store. All phone calls go directly to Verizon. The other problem I had with this store is that I went back when I received my new phone to have them help me transfer all of my apps, contacts, email, etc. to the new phone. After 4 hours in the store, they finally told me that I would have to install each app on my own at home. They couldn't get it to work. Stay away from this store! read more

I had voicemails from my late father that they assured me they could save when transferring over to an upgraded phone. Needless to say they lost them, and while I fought back tears for over 90 minutes while they tried to recover them the store manager hid in the back room and was texting the associate! Sales guy started a direct chat with Apple, and without my consent represented that he was me - not that he was really an associate at Verizon! Also sold me insurance on all 4 devices and told me that it would cover batteries 100% at no cost to me - just walk into a store to replace when needed. Well, I've been working with Verizon for over 2 weeks trying to get a new battery on a 2015 I-phone and just learned that there's a $99 deductible that is handled via mail order. Do NOT give this store business. They are untrustworthy, lie and will say and do anything to complete the sale. read more

I came to this location to have a small billing issue resolved. Upon ending my visit, Brandon, the manager of this location, talked up their new 5G modem/internet stating it would be totally FREE for 30 days, then $25/mos. for 2 yrs. I asked many questions and felt comfortable trying it out (saving $25/mos. off my current bill with XFinity). I get home and my bill had DOUBLED to $199!!! I called customer service (and she said she could only help quickly because her "shift was ending" and to finish, I would have to call back), she said the info Brandon gave was TOTALLY WRONG and that my monthly package did not even qualify, and I needed to return the modem ASAP (tonight). AND, he added a line which doubled my bill. She did apologize and said "Verizon does not accept this type of behavior". So I got back in my car and waited in line for someone else to help me. Noting better then my daughters phone battery giving up life during the Covid lockdown! But no worries! We went to the Schaumburg location on a Saturday. Got up to the door and a nice guy let us in- the door was locked for safety. He offered to assist us. Plugged her phone in and diagnosed it. It was an easy fix, thank god. I was not in the position to buy a new phone. During these times, every penny counts and I was very pleased that they let us in and helped. Never pushed us into buying a new phone. Side note: everyone has masks and gloves on! Great to see! read more

Verizon is a fine carrier, but this store deserves zero stars and a smack in the mouth. This past April, my fiancee and I decided to switch from TMobile to Verizon and buy some iPhones. On my way home from work, I stopped into this store and found an available associate. I said "Hi! I'm looking to switch carriers and buy two iPhones today. Would I get any sort of deal on the phones for doing that?" I was told that I would, and after sorting out a phone plan I was ready for checkout. The associate who took the payment seemed intent on getting me a great deal. My fiancee worked for a company that made us eligible for free activation on our phones and a 9% monthly discount- a savings of over $80. Pretty super. The only problem was that my fiancee was not present with me at the time. The sales associate told me not to worry; all we needed to do was come back within a week with a pay stub and they would apply the savings. He presented me with an estimated bill which was high, but he told me "don't worry, this is for a month and a half of service, and this does not include the discounts you'll be getting." Four days later, my fiancee got over with her pay stub. Because she was not the account holder, she was turned away. I needed to be with her to access the account. That might have been nice to know, but these things happen. A day or two later we went back. An associate looked over the information and told us that there was a problem. She couldn't apply the discounts unless the account was in the name of the person applying for the discounts. She admitted that this would probably screw up the billing because I would end up getting a prorated bill which would include activation charges along with a second "real bill." We were a little irritated- why wasn't this explained to begin with? If it was going to be such a big deal, we would have just waited a few days before buying and activating our phones. The associate gave us her card and assured us we'd get what we were promised initially- just bring the bills in when we got them and she (or another available associate) would sort things out. When we got our bills, we were shocked. In addition to my bill, my fiancee got a bill that was over $50 higher than what I was initially quoted. We figured "Whatever. the billing is all messed up anyway," so we headed back to the store. The associate whose card we had was not there, but a manager took care of us instead. After examining everything she said (curtly) "No, these bills are correct." She went on to say that the activation fees would only be applied to my fiancee, but not to me and that the 9% discount would not be applied until after the first billing cycle. She failed to mention (we later learned) that that discount could only being applied to one of our two account lines. We also later learned that we were being charges for insurance on both of our phones (only one was supposed to be insured). When I asked how the bill was so much more than the initial quote, she said "I don't know what to tell you. The bill is accurate." Then she said, "The best I can do is remove both activation fees. WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO. But I will." .... so your (multiple) associates promised us something that you were not prepared to give us. We took our time and fuel to make four trips to your store to resolve a situation which should not have been an issue to begin with. Now you're doing US a FAVOR by PARTLY fulfilling your promises???? ARE YOU KIDDING??? We paid the bill and later learned the other stuff about the discount on the lines and the insurance on the phones at the Addison store (a great store BTW). I have this guy helping me a few days ago, name is PATRICK on buying a new iphone and renewing a contract. This guy is rude and no customer service. You ask him a question and answer you with smart ass answer. I feel like i bought a phone into a vending machine. This guy doesnt wanna be on this place. He even just handed the phone to me, and then i realized that contacts wasnt even transfered. Do i really have to ask him on transferring my contacts? Leonel is AWESOME! I walked in at about 12:45 on Sunday 4/3. I was tired and hungry but priorities came first. I needed a new phone and BAD! I just got done running the Shamrock Shuffle in the city. I dropped my phone during the run(which was three years old therefor I was long overdue for an upgrade) and my phone was totaled. It was beyond repair which I already knew before I crossed the finish line. I walked in and gave my name as there was not an available sales rep. Waiting was not an issue at this point. The wait was all about 5 minutes. I got paired with Leonel. I explained my situation to him and knew the replacement phone I wanted. He had me hooked up and ready to go in 30 mins flat.
