BEWARE the Bridgeport Verizon, LAKE OSWEGO OREGON. I was told that if I purchased the $11 per month insurance, that my phone would be completely covered. All I would have to do was bring in the broken phone, and they would hand me a new one. Several times, I asked, "Eleven dollars a month gives me complete coverage?" "Yes! You don't want to ever have an expensive phone without this coverage. If you drop it, if it gets wet, etc, all completely covered!" "For $11 bucks a month?" "Yes, ma'am." So. I buy the coverage for everyone in my family. Fast forward several months. Daughter drops phone. Phone explodes. I tell daughter, no worries, I have FULL COVERAGE, AS PROMISED TO ME by my friendly Verizon rep. Daughter goes in. She is African American. Do not know if this was the factor (I doubt it) or it was because she was female (I doubt it) or if she was young (18)...(I think so). She is told that she will have to buy a new phone for $600. I send her back. "No, we have COMPLETE COVERAGE, try again." She does. Still $600 for phone. I am white. I am old. I am mad. I go in. I stay polite, but tell friendly rep my story. This friendly rep tells me that we are covered AFTER WE PAY 150 DEDUCTION. A deduction THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED when I went in the first time! The Verizon rep sheepishly told me that Verizon NEVER tells people the Deductible part and that customers come in all the time, furious, because they have been promised that $11 a month will protect them (in my case, it's $66 per month, just for insurance on my phones). So, I ask to see the manager. The manager comes out and tells me that I should have expected a deductible, after all, ALL insurance has deductible's. I told him that his people were lying to us and misleading and deceiving us. He offered to pay $75 dollars of the $150 deductible. I said, go talk to your boss and ask him. He went into the back room, pretended to call his boss. Kept me and my daughter waiting. Meanwhile, other people in the store, who had been listening in, all piped up and said, "Hey, we thought we were completely covered, too! This place is always lying to us, etc." Manager comes back, after pretending to talk to his boss and tells me $75 is all he can do. People. Verizon might have the best service bars, but they are lying to you! Before you buy ANYTHING from them, make them write down the details and sign it and get their card. And, do the math. 150 deductible plus 2 years at 11 per month is $414, which will only replace the model that you have! It might be good to get the insurance for the first 6-12 months...After that? your phone has depreciated and it's no longer a good deal. Also! The charge TWICE as much for the same Lifeproof Case. They wanted $99. Got SAME CASE for $44 online. LESS THAN HALF, even with shipping. Buy ALL of the extra stuff online. Seriously. Boycott all that stuff until they start being truthful and charging reasonable prices. read more

I wish i could give this store negative stars. I visited this Verizon store two years ago when I was considering changing phones. I wasn't sold on having a smartphone and the man who was helping me would not listen to my request to look at other phones. He wanted me to buy an iPhone and when I declined he would not help me. He stood behind me and told me all the reasons the phone I was looking at was wrong for me even though he had no idea who I was or what I wanted in a phone. He did not answer any of my questions and would simply start talking about the iPhone. He continuously cut me off mid sentence. Needles to say I left frustrated and upset. I returned this past weekend with my boyfriend. My boyfriend asked for help in returning his second broken Fitbit. The greeter woman said he had to return it to the store where he originally purchased his Fitbit. I also had a question but she ignored me until I finally said something. I asked my question about transferring voicemails to my new phone and she said "your voicemails are all gone." I said that friends without iPhones and a number of blog postings I had read had the same problems and Verizon was able to help. She said it was impossible and I must be wrong. I explained that my uncle recently passed away and I had some voicemails from him I would like access to. She said "too bad they are completely gone. Forever. You cannot access them." I asked to speak to someone else. She took me to another Verizon person and said "this lady needs help getting messages. I told her customer service could get them back but she won't listen." The man looked at me confused at which point I left, once again frustrated. In front of me were three other people who were all talking about how horrible the verizon store was and that none of their questions had been answered. I called customer service and the woman I spoke with informed me that 1. The Fitbit could be returned to any store and the greeter woman was incorrect and 2. That it would be no problem for her to retrieve my old voicemails. All in all, this Verizon store and the poor quality of employees has me reconsidering my Verizon contract. My family and I have been members for nearly 30 years but if this is the type of employee they hire I will take my business elsewhere. Do not under any circumstance go to this store. read more

This place is the worst!!!! They flat out lie to you and then will deny they ever said it. Elliott and Ashley have no concept of customer service. Before you sign on the iPad read all the verbiage that's listed in the iPad document. Elliott stated I wouldn't be charged a fee, asked multiple times, he never gave me the hand written price sheet they are suppose to fill out (he didn't complete one and I didn't know about it till after I tried to get the issue resolved), get my first invoice and there's a $10 monthly fee. How can this be, I asked him specifically about it!!! He lied and stated he told me. Stay away from this location!!! read more

His knowledge of the options and can do attitude was much appreciated. I went in knowing what I wanted and he gave me exactly that. I called this store today for help with my phone. I had previously had two occasions of service at this store, both with very positive results, no complaints at all despite the very, very, very negative reviews by others that I've seen on-line. My experience today (I spoke with Frank) was again very positive and my phone problem was solved. He was very helpful, patient, and concerned that all my concerns were met. In the past I have dealt with Amanda and Sam. I have had nothing but good encounters there and will continue to choose that location in the future. read more

Went to this store with low expectations. Had just gotten free upgrades from another location, but found I should've kept what I had because data transfer and new software can lead to problems and lost features. A normal store would have thrown their hands up in the air and said they're sorry. But not this group. One by one, more employees came over and started working on my problem because it had been so common with others. Four hours later, they were still at it, making calls around the country, looking up internet forums, reprogramming, and anything else that would be deemed creative, out of the box thinking. I think I tired before they did. Although not all is not quite fixed yet (aol servers have lost months of sent mails, along with some other tidying up to do) I know the staff at this location will go the extra mile for me, rather than roll their eyes at me because of my lack of techie genes. read more

went in to get myself and employee new phones, they realized i was not on a business acct, and switched me from a consumer acct to a business acct. (this only took 4 hrs :(, I ended up paying them 600.00 cash so we could leave with phones that night, they would finish up and get the accounts all set up for me. Well here it is tuesday and still no follow up call. discovered one of the numbers is not even switched over yet, don't have all my hardware equipment that i was to get sent to me. They had to un-suspend a phone and would re-suspend once acct was activated to new company acct, they never did it, and i've been paying for a line that i'm not even using now. They really have just dropped the ball on this. customer support is horrible, and customer service for the washington square store is awful. Recommend going to a different store. Starting to feel a bit uneasy about verizon, they are expensive, and with the lack of customer support may have to find other alternative for our 7 lines. read more
