I've been with Verizon for almost 10 years, it used to be the only cell service available in Ojai, now there are options and I can't wait to pay off our phones and switch service. My son has a Galaxy S5 purchased in August 2015 (with a Lifeproof case), and one day the screen just went black. When we went to the Ventura Verizon store (Lowe's shopping center) to ask about the warranty we had the bad luck of getting JENNIFER as our service rep. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! First she told us she had seen Galaxy S5s do this before and since ours was no longer under manufacturer's warranty, she "hoped" we had insurance. When I said we did have insurance but we'd only had the phone a few months, she looked at the account and said - oh, it is under warranty, but what happened to the phone? We told her that he pulled it out of his front pocket and all you could see of the screen was the top 25%, an hour later it was completely black. It wasn't dropped, there was actually not a scratch on the screen. JENNIFER then proceeded to tell us that if she sent it back under manufacturer's warranty we would get a refurbished phone (not a new replacement) and if they found any marks on this phone whatsoever they would charge us the price of a new phone. - Now that just did not make any sense to me, but we said OK, we know the phone was not damaged in any way, we'll take a refurbished one. JENNIFER then proceeded to tell us a long story about how her friend had tried to lie about a phone not being damaged and really he had taken it in the shower with him and he ended up having to pay for the replacement so are we sure we're not lying???? I told her that certainly over the course of three months my son had dropped his phone, but that was not why the screen went black. JENNIFER said well maybe he got it wet or sat on it or put pressure on it - basically telling us we must be lying - I said look at this phone there is not a mark on it and we aren't lying! She said well I'd just hate for you to be charged for a new phone if they do find a mark on it, let me take it to the back and pull it apart. She comes back with the phone taken apart and shows us a microscopic mark that she has to shine her flashlight on for anyone to see and says the digitizer is broken. What the heck? And this happened by the phone being in his front pocket and no screen damage whatsoever - shouldn't that be under warranty? JENNIFER tells us that somehow he must have broken a part inside the phone - under the screen - and again states that we must be lying and if she sent it back under warranty we would be charged full price for a new phone and she would just hate for that to happen and aren't we glad she caught us in our lie before we got that bill? I was furious, she was disrespectful and passively aggressively mean. She really has issues. AVOID JENNIFER and AVOID VERIZON if at all possible. There are many better options these days. read more

It's difficult to locate straightforward and honest retailers any more. Especially in the mobile phone business. However Verizon on Mills Rd is the exception to the rule. This team has ALWAYS been sincerely friendly, honest, no "con man" hustle and addressed my specific needs every time. When it's time for a new phone or I need an honest answer to a question these are the only Verizon (or any phone provider actually) guys I go to. Today, once again I was helped by sincere and helpful "solutions specialist", Daniel Cardoza. Daniel went beyond the call of duty to go over every phone option and plan that best fit my needs. After that was determined, Daniel then set my whole system up including backing up my new phone from the old one. All this (a couple of hours actually) with a smile and patience. In addition, it's obvious the store has good camaraderie and the staff appreciate working here. The general manager Rigo is respectful and pleasant to his staff and the customers. It takes a good captain to run a good ship. Rigo goes that...and it shows! Thank you Verizon store on Mills! Back once again for assistance and once again received stellar service from Jerry Minjares, Solutions Manager. Jerry helped me with my LifeProof phone case (don't leave the store without one...worth its weight in gold). The worst customer service ever . I called on the phone yesterday to check if a certain phone was in.. The employee who stated his name was Edward was rude on the phone and said he was too busy helping customers?! What?! Then Edward put me on hold and then Took my number and said he would call back in 15-20 min and never did after 3 hours . I called back to talk to the manager and the female sTated she was the asst manager .. I told her about Edward and his rudeness and his comments . She helped me immediately. Should have learned my lesson by now but giving the benefit of a doubt, went back to the Verizon corporate store for an answer to a simple question and request to look at the application manager setting on my S5 to see if any looked turned off that were needed to keep phone running smoothly. Refused to check, only answer was get a new phone. They are there to sell phones not to answer questions or, heaven forbid, look at one of theirs to answer a question.. I will buy a phone from Costco when I need one. Thanks Costco. My S5 is working great again. I understand from Verizon mine won't work after the first of the year. Forced to go to 5G?. Well, I'm not going. I'll get flip phone for 14.99 a mo. At Great Call. A touch tablet with wifi works for free. A GPS for my vehicle and an antenna for my big screen tv. I bought it for 1.00 at the 99¢ store... works great. Point toward L.A. I get 54 channels and the best programming available. Guess what...it works for free!! No more cable bills. None! Get sports, baseball, football, basket ball and my personal favorite golf. That's real progress hoing backward.. simple! Facebook, social media is a breeding ground for trouble. Need none of that. Hello! We have always received excellent service from Verizon until today. My husband and I went to the Mills Road Store in Ventura. We were waited upon by a Mr. Smith. We purchased a screen protector from Mr. Smith and went out to our car to put it in. We couldn't figure it out so we went back into the store for help and again we're waited on by Mr. Smith. I asked about the prior screen protectors guarantee and he aid it wasn't probably registered. I told him that sounds like a huge gimmick. He got sassy and said putting the protector on is a courtesy and he chooses not too help. We were extremely shocked by his attitude. The manager came over and helped us put the screen on then. Again, we were so shocked by Mr. Smith's lack of courtesy that will simply feel we had to speak up. Perhaps it is possible to re-train Mr. Smith. Thank you so much. We will continue to use Verizon and sincerely hope this was just a one time awful customer service experience. read more

First, this is not a Premium store. If they do not have the merchandize you want, they will use Fed Exp to deliver the item to your house. FedExp will probably destroy your iPad and iPhone, our carrier destroys packages. At a Premium store, you can have the item(s) you purchase delivered to the Verizon store at 4860 Telephone Rd, across from Barnes & Nobles, without damage. This store IS A PREMIUM store. The manager is great, the staff are helpful. We ordered an iphone and ipad which we did not receive from Mills Rd. Verizon charged our account anyway. Verizon finally refunded some of the money, but we are still fighting with them to get the entire refund due and the phone number they assigned our account for the ipad is still active and charging. No one at Verizon billing seems to want to help us. We have talked to 8 separate people in billing. Verizon appears to be too big to care. We did manage to drive to Simi Valley Verizon to purchase the ipad and iphone we wanted. When we told billing, Cynthia, out of Chicago, about our purchase she wanted to call Simi Valley Verizon and give Cynthia some grief. Verizon is extremely difficult to work with if there is a problem. Again, they take your money even when they do not sell the customer a product. We escalated the problem and the supervisor did not care. It is my opinion that this is a very bad company. Second problem: I pay my monthly bill at Mills Rd, Verizon, because they have a machine you can use. On one occasion someone from the store took my check and reused the check to purchase $350.00 worth of Verizon products. I completed a police report, I had my receipt from paying my bill which had the exact time my check was stolen, and I had my monthly checking statement showing the stolen check for $350.00. Verizon refused to cooperate with the police in tracking the person who caused us to close our account. This created undue hardship on our family and the crook got away with the $350.00. The only reason that I can think of for not agreeing to help with the police investigation was this was a Verizon would not agree to help employees who stole our check. No one else had access to the check in question. I cannot recommend this store to anyone. Don't get me wrong, they are nice enough, but no one at the store will help you if something goes wrong. They wash their hands of the whole situation and leave you completely hanging. Shame of you Verizon read more

Went in to get a tablet and was told i would be able to return it if i didn't get my free voucher in time. so i went in toady cause i didn't get my voucher yet so they told me i could return it but would charge me 70 bucks. RYAN never told me this before he said don't worry you'll get it in time which i didn't. So i told them just let me have my tablet back then so i don't have to pay the 70 restocking fee. then they told me you just returned it so we can't give it back to you. So now i just lost out on 70 bucks for nothing so the free tablet cost me 70 bucks and i have no tablet. Stay away from this store and especially RYAN he is a liar and will throw you under the bus to save his ass from looking bad. He will talk to you all cool then when you have a problem he will treat you like a piece of shit what kind of customer service is that. Im gonna call corporate and make sure they have RYAN's name and let them know how he treats people. My mother-in-law stopped by this store today for help because her iphone had stopped working. She is a senior citizen and easily confused by tech. The female employee told her that her recent phone update had "broken her phone" and that there was no choice but to purchase a new phone. My mother-in-law balked at the price and decided not to purchase a phone but to just go without having a phone all together. She came to my home asking me to help her retrieve her photos since the phone was no longer any good. I had the phone working in about 60 seconds. I called the Verizon store phone number and got national customer service. You can't call the store directly. I was transferred to the store, asked to speak to a manager, and was put on hold for 16 minutes! I called customer service again, and this time they made sure that a human being stayed on the line to speak to me. I left a message and the manager Edward called me back. He didn't feel they had done anything wrong, and told me that sometimes updates can essentially break a phone. Seriously???? I asked why they wouldn't refer her to Apple for help if they really thought her phone was broken? Apparently, all they care about at this Verizon store is selling you something, not actually HELPING. Last year my mother-in-law went there for help with her wireless phone and walked out with a new landline phone. Of course, it didn't work at her home, and she couldn't get her old landline hooked back up for a month. These sales people are completely heartless!!!!! read more

First I came in and was referred to a lady but she had no name badge, Not professional. I must wear my name badge at work all the time. Anyway I asked to change my plan and she talked to me and changed the plan I had. But during this discussion I was not told that I would have to re register have to re do my voice mail and re do my texting options. If I was told about this I might of thought about not changing my plan. And when I came back in because I hadn't figured all this out all I was told was wait til tomorrow because guess what, we offer this product but don't really know anything about it. Told with confidence. Luckily with help from a friend and the phone number I was trying to give to the employee but she wouldn't take it I CALLED MYSELF and got it all taken care of. My phone is fine now and I am happy but if your going to offer a product you should have to know something about it. read more

Is there a -5 stars??? Worst customer service ever! If you value your time and money dont go near here. Went in to open a business account and it took the rep 2.5 hours!!! to get the paperwork done for phones they didnt have in stock. After multiple attempts to up sell us on accessories he looked at us as if we were crazy when we declined. Then After waiting for weeks for our phones we went in to pick them up to find that that same rep had SOLD THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE and there were no replacements so we would have to wait again. The new rep struggled to find our account until I showed him an email I had saved. I then asked to speak to the manager Jonathan Johnson whom the rep promptly got on the phone and who declined to talk to me because he was "on the road" but "he would be in 2 days later and I could make and appointment" to come in and discuss it!" REALLY! His convenience not mine and no phones available! It will be a cold day in hell before they get any of my business and I have had a negative comment placed in your file at Verizon Jonathan-you need a refresher course on good customer service-better yet get a job as a dishwasher! read more
