I've been a Verizon customer for over 18 years, paying for top-tier FIOS and wireless…read moreservices--about $375 a month. While the actual service (internet, TV, and wireless) is generally reliable, the billing system and customer service are an absolute nightmare. In the fall of 2024, I requested to disconnect two landline phone lines. I was told it would be taken care of. Months later, I discovered I was still being billed. I called again in February 2025--another apology, another promise. Still not done. By May, after wasting hours on the phone, I finally got the lines disconnected--but only after getting visibly angry with customer service. All they offered me for months of overbilling was a paltry $50 credit. In June, I reviewed my wireless service and realized I'd been overpaying for years. I switched to a competitor and am now paying much less for the same level of service. Fast forward to July, and I noticed my Verizon bill was $65 higher than the previous month. Why? I was still being charged for the disconnected phone lines (Verizon Digital Voice) plus other unexplained fees. Customer service told me there was "no disconnect order on file"--even though the lines are obviously inactive and they could confirm that themselves. Their solution? A vague promise of a $200 gift card in 65 days and a possible $20 "loyalty" credit. That's it. Verizon's customer service is incompetent, confusing, and completely unhelpful. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Their actual product is fine--if you can get past the endless billing issues and the wall of scripted responses from customer service reps who can't or won't fix the problems. After this experience, I am actively shopping their competition and am ready to cancel all my remaining Verizon services. Stay far away unless you enjoy being overcharged and ignored.

I hate that I have to alternate between Verizon and optimum every year or 2 to get their best…read morerates. Why haven't either of these companies considered a discount for loyalty? Their prices have gone up significantly since first advertising 19.99$ for internet only, Bernie Sanders was right! If you go online to price things out, and don't check out out, they will call, text and email you asking if they can help you complete your order. No, I purposely didn't complete my order. Right now they have a decent deal because they're giving you free Disney and Hulu. When I finally make the appointment, I'm pretty sure they texted me every day to confirm. I appreciate their thoroughness, but could they be a little less annoying? I scheduled an 11am appointment on a Saturday because I wanted to sleep late. They started calling and texting at 8am, and wanted to come early. I made the appointment for 11 for a reason! At my job, I don't call anybody until 9am on a weekday. I think it's rude to call people at 8am on a Saturday. Their installation guy deserves no tip! I had optimum. He literally came in here, ran the wire alongside the optimum wire and plugged into their box that was already in my basement from the last time. I asked him to remove the wiring that wasn't being used and he didn't. He didn't even change my wireless settings from optimum to Verizon or give me instructions. On top of all that, I had to remove the optimum wires and tie up the new one to the ceiling. They are expensive and the customer service sucks, but they're giving a better price than optimum right now. Their sales and installation teams are really f****g annoying too.

Excellent customer service experience!…read more Worked with agent Ann David over the phone. She is knowledgeable, thorough and extremely patient (I ask a lot of questions!) I began the day prepared to cancel RCN service....i am happy to remain an RCN customer. Ann made what cou have been a frustrating experience into an easy one. As has been said before by many others, this company has bad customer service. Far worse than the…read moreservice is their dishonesty. Astound is a good name for these people. The low level customer service and the way the company bilks customers is astounding. They claim to be giving you a five (5) year price lock. In my case, two months later they change the name of your promotion to Promotion for Life. They say that this means that only the taxes can go up if they do, but not the price for the service in my case, $40.00 with $5.66 in taxes for a total of $45.66. Do not be fooled. All their promotions, regardless of names, can be renamed and repriced at any time. They actively promote Autobilling, which means they take the money directly out of your bank account each month. It is not worth getting a $5 reduction to have these crooks get access to your bank account. Once you provide them with your bank account number, they can help themselves to any amount. Prices with Astound change at the drop of a hat. They do this by claiming that your plan's name was changed. What this means is that they hiked the price. Am actively going to see if I can find a better deal elsewhere. These people are nasty and only interested in bilking customers. These are seasoned scam artists.

This review is long overdo…read more All of Optimum's policies and phone customer service gets one star. They were horrible and confused and deliberately slowed our efforts to switch to Fios. That being said, if you go to this location, talk to Jesus. He is awesome and professional and was so helpful. He got on the phone with Optimum's phone customer service to aid with their inability to help and eventually broke through to help us to get the information we needed to leave Optimum. We left Optimum, By the way, because our phone/cable/internet bill was raised to $240/month, which is crazy. Anyway, if Optimum phone customer service was run as well as Jesus' professionalism, intelligence empathy and effectiveness, we would have stayed, even with the stupidly high bill. A message to the upper management of Optimum: OPTIMUM WOULD BE A FANTASTIC AND SUCCESSFUL COMPANY IF JESUS WAS RUNNING IT. MAKE JESUS PRESIDENT OF OPTIMUM!

Every time I asked a question, I got different answers, and many times they just said, "I don't know." Their solution to everything was, "Call customer service." Well then, what's the point of having employees in the store? I was seriously planning to switch to Optimum, but after this kind of treatment, I have to think twice. And it wasn't just me. Across the store, there was a lady yelling because she was so frustrated. She literally said, "This place is a piece of s...," and told one of the employees, "You cheated me."
