I'm updating my review since this is now Vero and we tried takeout on Friday and it was great. Tasty Chicago style thin crust pizza. We got a 16" sausage and mushroom. It was bigger than we expected, and more than enough for 2 people. Plenty of leftovers to enjoy. We'll be back. My husband says it looks nice inside. read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed Vero's! As a Chicago transplant, this place is a Godsend. Seriously, you could serve their thin crust (tavern style) pizza to a bar full of people in of Chicago an it would rank in the top 10%. I've never tried their deep dish, but like a true Chicagoan it's tavern style (square cut thin crust) that I'm after on a regular basis. My go-to order is pepperoni, spinach and giardiniera, which is delicious every time. I also have a gluten free kiddo and their gluten free crust is pretty tasty. Best Deep Dish not only in the Valley, but I'm AZ ! From the salads, to the the Appetizers nothing was bad ! Highly recommend

I gave it a 5 star only because it wasn't their fault about the onion rings, or not even having the calamari that we really wanted. Otherwise I would have given a 4 because the rings were a little too crunchy. Pizza was excellent! Give them a chance because of Trisha, she's great!!! read more

Tuesday night here; just ordered a large pizza light cheese and an Italian Beef with hot peppers and cheese (cheef) and by far this has been the best pizza and beef in Arizona since 2006 era! Honestly this is just fantastic and I'm raving! read more

Ordered from here several times. Pizza is really good. Service is NOT. I called 30 min before they closed and I heard the teenage girl who answered say to someone "oh so dont even answer" then she hung up. Took the 20 mile drive from Avondale because the pizza is so worth it. Arrived at 855pm. Ordered a deep dish mag mile. 45 mins went by and the waitress came over and said she sorry that the kitchen is backed up but our pizza will be out soon and she would discount the bill. Ok that's understandable, however, others arrived and were served food and left while we waited almost another hour.... no pizza arrived. Waitress came out of the restroom and saw me sitting there, disgusted and went to chat with the other girls.. didn't check with the kitchen or anything. We left after nearly 2 hours and one half glass of ice water. Clearly she forgot to put our order in. The kitchen was producing plenty of food for everyone else. Thanks for nothing Vero's! read more

Started with a yummy Caesar salad and ice cold Church Music beer. Onto a thin crust sausage mushroom and peperoni pizza. The crust was super crunchy and piping hot on arrival as you would expect. The highlight of the visit was the service provided by Laney. Her smile would light up a city and she was friendly, helpful and attentive. We would definitely return again. Really good food. The Italian beef sandwich is great, so is the pizza. The only thing I don't like is when you call they put you on hold for so long that you end up just calling somewhere else for take out. It's happened several times. Overall the food is great. read more

Fave new pizza place. Can't find good pizza in Laveen so it's worth the drive to come to Vero. You get your moneys worth when you order a deep dish. I always shared an app and 10" with my boo and we have left overs for lunch the next day every time. It's some seriously delicious pie. We tried the BBQ sauce with Ham and Pineapple. Man was it good! And they still put the red sauce on top with the BBQ base which I thought was amazing. Wine on tap. Anything we have order is bomb. My boo loved the onion rings even! So simple but the onions didn't fall out leaving you with breading. They were PERFECT! Our new spot. We're new regulars Vero! read more

Somehow we were able to get an order in although they shortly said they ran out of dough on a Sunday at 6. Obviously they are still working out the kinks in how much of this and that to have on hand. The waitress said that the Gilbert location is much different in level of business and wine drinkers. Replacing a wine bar they better stock up!! We had a large thin crust 1/2 cheese-1/2 pepperoni and it was quite delicious! We tried some appetizers...the homemade chips are okay but the garlic/cheese bread nothing to write home about. Not enough garlic butter and very dry bread. The Buddy's salad was great! A large fed a few of us a small serving. They have about 4 big screen TV's and had the football game on the loud speaker so it's definitely a good spot for sports enthusiasts. I am excited to have a pizzeria back in the west part of Ahwatukee and will give them a chance to work out the kinks. read more

Best pizza spot in Ahwatukee. We frequently order a thin crust cheese and pepperoni and it reminds me exactly of the thin crust we used to get back in Chicago. Yes there is such a thing as Chicago thin crust and Vero does it very well. I'd like to try some other things on the menu, but the pizza is too damn good. read more

I regularly order pizza to go from Vero. I live their pizza. I highly recommend the Buckingham Fountain. The crust is thin and the pizza with pepperoni, onion, mushrooms and bell pepper is so delicious. I would highly recommend this place. The food and service is amazing. read more

Solid neighborhood pizza joint. Pizza is legitimately good, and service is great. Get the butter crust! Friendly, local, family feel. Sitting at the long bar top table is the best option. Most of the complaints I see revolve around wait time on food and price. I don't know...it's more expensive than Dominos for sure...but you get what you pay for. Only reason we don't go more is I don't want to weigh 300 pounds. But it's solidly in the rotation. read more

This is the first pizza I've had in AZ that tastes like home! I'm from Rockford, IL where we have many excellent pizza choices. Chicago pizza doesn't automatically mean deap dish. I love the thin-crust! It's cooked well, with cheese browned just perfectly. My husband loves the butter crust, so we usually trade off which we order. First off I just want to say I love the pizza here. However, there are 4 things I look for in a dining experience. 1) environment 2) food 3) employee interaction and 4) experience. I have orders take-out from Buddyz on various occasions and have not been disappointed. However, my first sit down experience will be my last. 1) the environment is pleasant and open. The establishment was clean and family friendly. I was happy with the table we had. It was the basic bar/ dine-in pizzeria. 2) the food was good. I had Chicago style deep dish pizza for the first time and downed 2 slices like water. The meat was fresh and cooked to perfection. The dough was soft and crispy on the edges with a rich taste of perfect cooking. If I had 4 hand I would give 4 thumbs up. 3) the staff was great and our waiter was very good. He was quick and courteous. My family and I enjoyed his presence. 4) experience was not so good. We got to the restaurant around 7:45pm ordered deep dish right away and got drinks to wait. 8:25pm rolled around and my kids were fussing and we had to order mozzarella sticks to calm them down. The waiter had informed us that the kitchen was cooking for a party and our pizza was the last priority. So by 8:40 pm exactly 1 hour into our dining experience we had decided to leave and finally the pizza was brought out. So needless to say our stay would be our last. I do like the food. However, it would have been better to be straight up and tell us from the beginning that our meal would be last priority of the night. So even though I love the pizza buddyz will just be a establishment to order pizza and pick up- I will save date night for other appropriate dine-in experiences. This is why I give 3/5 stars. read more
