#1 Lechon Asado (Cuban Style Roasted Pork) Moros Y Cristianos (Brown Rice)
    Neida P.

my family and i entered this restaurant and the workers were quick to greet and seat us, our server was very sweet and we got our food and drinks quickly. i ordered the lechon asado and platanos and morros y cristianos rice (rice mixed with black beans) and it was delicious. I was worried the pork might be a little dry bc i've had that happen before but it was moist and perfectly paired with the rice and platanos.

This is a LA classic for authentic Cuban food! I had not been here in years and the flavors and quality of food is still the same! They've redone the interior and it has a nice clean look. The staff here were very attentive and nice. The food came out pretty quickly as well. We ordered the sampler as an appetizer. I loved the potato balls, they were my favorite. For my entree I ordered the Arroz con Pollo. Every bite was absolutely amazing, full of flavor! The chicken was falling off the bone it was so tender. The plantains were probably the best I've ever had. This restaurant is comfort food at its best!

Came back for lunch again and this time I tried the ropa vieja and it did not disappoint. So juicy and tender and filling. My friend got the pollo sandwich and he loved it too.

Went to Versailles and ordered the garlic chicken -- and man oh man, have I missed good Cuban food. I haven't had any since living on the East Coast. I probably looked like I hadn't eaten in days with the way I was scarfing down my plate. By the end, all that was left were bones . The chicken was unbelievably juicy, and I never eat skin, but here? I couldn't resist. Something about that tender meat paired with the crispy skin and those perfectly pickled onions... ugh, chef's kiss. If you're craving real Cuban comfort food, this is it.

Crazy to think Versailles opened first location off Venice blvd way back in 1971 and still going strong!!! One of mom's favorite Cuban spot so whenever I'm in town we gotta go get her fix!! Butter toasted bread!!! Black beans and rice!!! Lemon and onions w pork or chicken....But definitely not for everyone? Don't sleep on the lemon and onion sauced tamales or empanadas but our all time favorite is and always will be the oxtail!! Unfortunately with ridiculously high oxtail inflation....Definitely affected price, quality and plate size but still delicious!!! Shakes are delicious as well but definitely an espresso with some Cuban flan is a must!!!

This place is amazing and has become my go-to Cuban spot. The food is consistently on point. My wife loves the garlic chicken, and I can't stop ordering the oxtail stew--it's rich, tender, and full of flavor every single time. The fries and yucca are both outstanding, perfectly cooked and addictive. The restaurant is clean (including the bathrooms, which always matters), and parking honestly isn't as bad as you'd expect given the location. Great food, solid experience, and always worth coming back

Growing up, I used to come here about once a month. Then life happened and moved out of state. The last time I came here was about 30 years ago. WOW that makes me sound old! lol But the truth is, I missed this place and I was extremely happy that it is still open and at the same location! Of course the restaurant itself looks updated and bigger, but everything else here is just as how I remembered it. Ordered the best dish on the menu, the famous chicken. Portion size is just how I remembered it and let me tell you, the meal brought tear to my eyes. So much nostalgia. I literally texted my best friend to show him where I was at and ofcourse we talked about the good times we spent here. Thank you for the best food and service. I will be back!

Encino location puts his to shame! Overcooked chicken!

Pro-tip: stick to their garlic chicken: you can pretty much ignore everything else. While their famous garlic chicken pollos has reached legend status, I don't share the same sentiment with some of their other offerings. Such as the pollos sandwich. For a whopping $19 dollars, you receive an unseasoned chicken patty reminiscent to fast-food like grilled chicken sandwiches. No salt. No pepper. No seasoning. The lettuce was not fresh, but soggy. Hardly any toppings. Desperately needed help with the garlic sauce to breathe life into this pitiful sandwich on life support. At least the fries were crunchy. But where's the salt ?

Food came out quick. Its hot in there, went during lunch and it was busy. Beans and green sauce stood out that was good.

Versailles Cuban food is amazingly delicious. Service is helpful yet wonderful. Ambiance is casual and clean. Great Cuban Food !

The food is always pretty good here. We usually get the number 6, which is chicken. We always take it to go. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and helped right away. The place had plenty of inside seating, nice Latin music playing and was clean. Parking is ok.

    Still has great prices!

Forget Starbucks! La Ventanita at Versailles should be your morning stop if you work or live nearby this Calle Ocho landmark. The low prices still surprise me. I took a picture of my receipt so you can get an idea. The food is also great. This last time I had ham croquettes, a meat pie, and two guava and cheese pies. I barely shared. I also had a cortadito, which is espresso, sugar, and either evaporated or whole milk frothed. Total cost including tip was $13.00.

We were driving down La Cienega In Beverly Hills when we drove by Versailles and decided to have dinner. I haven't been here in years so it was a good change to have some Cuban food. This particular location is small with very little parking in the lot shared by other stores. Luckily we found an open meter right in front on a Saturday night. When We walked in, the staff was very friendly. We went around 6pm so it was a good number of groups in there but not too crowded yet. The Mexico vs Jamaica soccer game was on and the Latin music was playing in the background. Our waiter Jorge was very nice. He brought us our bread and water. We ordered mojitos which were better than the ones we had at the Cuban spots in Miami! I ordered the Garlic Chicken and my bf ordered the Vaca Frita (Sauteed Shredded Flank Steak). We also order the chicken and beef empanadas. Everything we ordered was delicious and very filling. The beef empanada was so good! I also loved the flavor of my garlic chicken that came with rice, beans, and plantains. The steak was also good and very flavorful. I'm glad we decided to go to Versailles, it's definitely a good choice when you're hungry and want something good, filling, and fresh!

This area is not familiar to us at all, and we don't normally eat (for us) exotic cuisine. But, we were in the mood to try something new, so we stopped here. It's a colorful, cheerful little place. I think there are only like 4 tables. Apparently, it is mostly takeout. This became evident when our food was "served". We ordered a large two-meat plate and two large fried chicken plates. The two meats were "brown stew chicken" and curry goat. The meat is served in thick savory gravy/sauce. The "plates" are served with rice and fried plantains. The brown stew chicken was good. The curry goat was really good. Here's where the experience really veered sharply from our normal dining experience. The "plates" were served in takeout fold-over boxes with plastic forks. The meat itself was pretty much all adhered to bones. It was tender and delicious, but eating with our hands doesn't come naturally. So, I asked for a knife, and the sweet woman who takes the orders looked at me and said they don't have knives, and that we "just have to dig down into it". Indeed. She did give me a second plastic fork though, which I used. Nice workers. Authentic food. Huge portions. New experience which we all enjoyed.

When I got on Yelp, I saw mixed reviews, especially comments about a woman being rude or having a bad attitude. Thankfully, we did not have that experience directly. I did briefly see her come out from the kitchen, we caught eyes, and she walked back inside. The ambiance was ok, good music , no customers at the time, but a few tables were dirty. The young man cleaned it right away . To be fair, I don't think the issue is primarily the young man taking the orders. He was kind, apologetic, and seemed to care, but the overall operation felt unorganized. Our order was incorrect three separate times. First, the drink order was wrong, but he fixed it and apologized. Second, we paid extra for mayo ketchup and garlic sauce in small 1 oz containers, but they were not placed on our tray, so we had to get up and ask for them. Again, he apologized. Then, when we received our tray, he let us know they had run out of lettuce and gave us potato beet salad instead, without offering us an option first. We ordered the goat stew plate and the grilled chicken plate, both served in to-go containers. For the plates, you get your protein, then a choice of green salad or potato beet salad, along with either white rice or moro rice, which is rice cooked with beans. We chose the moro rice. I've had Caribbean/Dominican food many times before, and it is usually packed with flavor, so I was honestly surprised that this was bland. This definitely feels like a coaching opportunity for the cook to taste the food throughout the cooking process, because a little seasoning and balance can make a huge difference. The grilled chicken portion was generous, and the plantains were delicious. The guanábana/soursop drink was also delicious, and the tamarindo had good flavor, though it had a lot of pulp/flesh in the cup. That said, the chicken and onion sauce were very bland and needed salt. For the prices being charged, the guest experience should feel more polished. Our total came out to $78 for two plates, two drinks, a small side of beans, and plantains. Pretty costly for what we received. Another thing that stood out was the napkins. When we asked for more, we were only given two additional napkins, which felt very stingy, especially when eating saucy dishes like goat stew. It just didn't feel like the best way to treat guests. As a chef and food safety professional, I also noticed behaviors that need coaching, including apron use when going into the restroom, lack of visible handwashing afterward, and bare-hand contact after scratching the head before touching food containers. These are important food safety habits that should be reinforced immediately. Overall, Karibbean Cuisine has good flavor potential and generous portions, but they need stronger operational structure, better order accuracy, improved guest communication, and tighter food safety practices. At this time, I personally would not come back, but I do wish them all the best in their business. I hope they take this feedback as constructive criticism and apply it in a way that helps the restaurant grow, improve the guest experience, and build long-term guests. If I see changes in the future, I would gladly give them another try. Until then, I truly wish them success.

For context, I've always loved Jamaican food and even have family who make incredible, authentic dishes, but I haven't had anything close to that in a year. So my expectations? High. My craving? Even higher. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner with peas & rice and cabbage medley, and some plantains - to go. First off, the service was amazing. The woman who helped me was genuinely warm and welcoming, and you can tell she cares about what she's serving. When I ordered, she asked if I wanted the jerk sauce on the side and made sure I was okay with the spice level when I said no. That attention to detail matters. The food came out quickly (it was mid-afternoon and not busy), and everything stayed warm all the way home--which is always a win for takeout. Now let's talk about the food: The portion was generous, the flavors were on point, and everything tasted fresh. The jerk chicken had that perfect smoky, spicy kick - exactly what I was hoping for. The rice and peas and cabbage medley were a great balance to the heat, and the plantains were sweet and perfectly cooked. I did notice another review complaining about the spice level being too high... and honestly, I had to laugh a little. Have you had jerk chicken before? It's supposed to be spicy - that's the whole point. Personally, that comment is part of what made me choose this place, and it delivered. If you don't like spice, jerk might not be your thing - but I'm sure there are milder options if you ask. Bonus: they offer online ordering and delivery through Uber Eats and Postmates, which makes it even easier to get your fix. Overall, this place brought back the flavors I've been missing for so long. I'll absolutely be back - and probably sooner rather than later.
