I was visiting Miami and asked a local for a restaurant recommendation. She directed me to Versailles. I had about a twenty minute wait without a reservation. I sat inside but waited outside until the table was ready. I had shrimp, rice, and fries for lunch. The portion size was generous so I took most of it back to eat later. The waiter was also very friendly and the price was not bad at all!
First time dining at Versailles and the experience was great. The parking situation was a big hectic, and it was crowded. We waited about half an hour before our party of seven were seated. The interior was spacious and crowded with diners. We ordered variety of food off the menu, and everything on the affordable end. Food tasted good overall and generously portioned for their prices. Some of our friends described this place as staple of Cuban food in coral gables area. Versailles did not disappoint. Yes I would recommend this place to others for a different experience. Our server was quick, attentive, and efficient. Sorry, we did not catch his name. We will be back if and when we crave Cuban food and we are in the coral gables area.
It's always a good idea to go to Versailles. Having been born and grown-up here this is definitely a staple in our community. The food is always amazing, the service was great and the wait time is very short on a Sunday at brunch time.

The menu is extensive, offering so many authentic Cuban favorites that it can be hard to decide what to order. I've been here multiple times, and honestly, I haven't had a single dish that I didn't enjoy. Everything I've tried has been flavorful, satisfying, and worth coming back for. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, so even though it's popular, it does a great job accommodating guests. The lively atmosphere adds to the overall experience and gives you a true taste of Miami's Cuban culture. Don't leave without stopping by the bakery next door! It's the perfect way to end your meal, with an incredible selection of pastries, desserts, coffee, and other sweet treats. Even if you're already full, it's worth grabbing something to enjoy later. Great food, generous portions, a rich history, and an authentic atmosphere--Versailles continues to be one of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in Miami.
My friend welcomed me to her hood and this was the first place of how she welcomed me in Miami. I can see why. AMBIANCE Parking: Dedicated lot and surrounding parking options, though it can get busy during peak hours. Seating: Plenty! Large dining rooms capable of accommodating individuals, families, tour groups, and everyone in between. Vibes: Welcome to Little Havana. It's a bit spaced out for you to experience Cuban culture. The restaurant itself gives you that classic, old-school charm with some history of the Cuban community. I dig the Cuban music giving it a nice cultural touch. This spot is no hidden gem. This is a common place for everyone - locals to tourists. FOOD / DRINKS Cubano (Recommend) Ofcourse you have to get a Cubano. Nothing too flashy but definitely gets the job done. Classic pressed bread with a satisfying crunch with a medley of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard to give it a nice savory and comforting taste. Every bite had a good balance of texture and flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE Awesome! Efficient and experienced. They know this place serves a lot of people so they know they had to come correct. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Great selections, fair prices, and a solid cultural experience. Versailles does a great job perserving and celebrating Cuban culture. For those interested for that Cuban-Miami experience, this is the place to be. TIPS * Come hungry--the portions are generous
This place is clearly very popular, and there is a very large parking lot across the street so don't be put off by the tiny parking lot right out front. The people showing you to tables and the host stand all wear earpieces, and it felt extremely well organized. Other restaurant patrons were dressed casually but nicely, and it was a relaxed ambiance. I was deciding between the salmon glazed with guava BBQ and the grilled salmon with lemon butter and our server recommended the latter--I do kind of wish I had gone against his recommendation because I felt like the salmon could have been more flavorful but it was still well cooked, as were the yellow rice and sweet plantains. My boyfriend also enjoyed his sandwich. I had the cortadito with evaporated milk and it was really yummy! I don't normally drink coffee but it was recommended in other reviews. It's definitely more on the sugary sweet side of things, but if you're looking for that I would highly recommend. It was probably my favorite thing here.
We had a connecting flight in Miami, and I was craving a good cup of coffee. I stopped by Versailles and ordered a small cappuccino and a guava and cheese pastry. Both were absolutely delicious. The pastry filling was light and not overly sweet, which I really loved. The staff were super friendly and recommended the guava and cheese pastry, and I'm so glad I took their suggestion. Since the coffee was so good, I went back to buy some coffee beans, but they only had ground coffee available, so I picked up a bag. I can't wait to make it at home. There was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. If you're at Miami International Airport, you have to stop by Versailles Coffee, it's definitely worth it.
I was excited to come here because I have heard so much of this place and I came with a large group of people. This place was huge with many seats and was busy for a Wednesday afternoon. This is a perfect place to come with large groups and there is plenty of free parking. We were seated quickly and waters came right away to our table with menus and our server was ready to take our order as soon as we were ready. Great friendly service. I ordered the CHICKEN VERSAILLES. It was supposed to be a half of a chicken marinated in mojo. It came out, pounded and tasted dry; not moist at all with a small cup on the side of mojo sauce. I was very disappointed. Maybe if I had tried something else on their menu I may have been happier. It came with black beans and rice which tasted ok. We sat for a while after paying the bill to have conversations, but we were told we had to leave because they had to get other people in. So if you want to relax and have a conversations wait before you pay the bill or you will be rushed out. Unfortunately unless I was asked to come again with a group or with a friend I would never come here on my own.
A Miami classic for Cuban comfort food Stopped by Versailles and ordered the **Rabo Encendido (Oxtail Stew)**. The oxtail was tender and slow-cooked to perfection, with the meat falling right off the bone. The sauce was rich, savory, and full of deep flavor, making it the perfect comfort food. Every bite felt hearty and satisfying, especially paired with the traditional sides. Service was efficient and professional, even with how busy the restaurant was. The staff kept things moving smoothly while still making guests feel welcomed. The vibe is lively and full of history. You can feel why Versailles is such an iconic Miami institution, with a constant buzz of locals and visitors enjoying classic Cuban dishes. It feels like a place you have to experience at least once when visiting Miami. Overall, a delicious meal and a great introduction to traditional Cuban cuisine. I was told that when you're in Florida ESPECIALLY Miami you HAVE to get Cuban food. And wow... now I understand why. As we were driving in, the place already looked beautiful. We came in the evening and immediately, as we walked up, there was music, people laughing, talking, smiling... the energy was incredible. I also loved that there was a bar off to the side while waiting. We ordered a few mojitos and sat outside at the tables and benches, just enjoying the atmosphere. When our name was finally called and we walked inside, I genuinely felt like I was stepping into history. The atmosphere here is unmatched. The music, the aromas, the people. God, I loved it here and I hadn't even tried the food yet. We ordered the braised oxtail (which came with plantains and rice), salmon glazed in guava BBQ sauce, ceviche tropical, assorted empanadas, and a Cuban sandwich. Everything was phenomenal. The sauce paired with the empanadas perfectly. The guava BBQ glaze on the salmon was absolute perfection. It was the perfect combo of sweet, smoky, and flavorful. The ceviche had the perfect acidity and tasted so fresh and refreshing. This is one of the most famous Cuban restaurants in Miami. It completely lives up to the reputation. Highly recommended
Always predictable food. My friend brought me food to the hospital as I was with my husband. The plantains and my dinner were great. Our hospital visitors enjoyed the croquettes and the empanadas. The croquettes were a bit too burned for me.
Food here soooo good. My friend, feifei, and I eating in silence because we were so hungry and the food was such a great introduction for us with Cuban food. Thank gosh for staff being quick and remembering the little things. I feel like anywhere in Miami, staff could never be as quick as you want with water refills, but eh...what can you do with humidity and heat outside. Bathrooms are off to the side by the bakery pickup. And yes! They are clean! It looked very regal and royalhere with the chandeliers and outdoor stone-structured patio. Truly stunning of a restaurant! But, not much parking around here :( so, get your parallel parking down because quite a bit of people here! Especially those heading to the airport with their many luggage bags, haha
What can I say! The pictures speak for themselves! We absolutely love coming to Versailles, it's been a staple in my family all of my life. The food is always seasoned to perfection and the customers service is delightful.
Authentic Cuban restaurant! This is a very popular place and it did not disappoint. It was very crowded even at 4pm. Although we were told it was a 30 minute wait, we ended up getting seated a lot quicker. The menu is pretty large. For starters, we ended getting the ceviche, which was pretty good. For the entree, I got the Grilled Polomilla Steak. It comes with rice and plantains. The steak and plantains were pretty good. The rice was just okay. Also, cocktails are $12 here. Overall, a cool place with good food. The outside architecture looks like it was Versailles inspired. They have outdoor seating and a bar while you wait for a seat inside. This is the "most authentic" Cuban restaurant I have ever been to. A friend who lives in the area suggested we go and I love trying authentic cuisine. We stopped in Very late after a cycling event. We walked in around 11pm and the place was full of people with some even waiting!! It seemed to me that this was a highly coveted place for Cuban. I started with the Ceviche. It was a very large portion and very reasonably priced! For an entree I got a seafood Paella which was also a significant portion for only about $17. The food was all fantastic!! read more

This is my Florida go to place for the traditional Cuban ropa vieja, shredded beef stewed with black bean rice on the side. Absolutely delicious in this place. The Pina colada is also great! This place has been around for years and the service is always great! read more
FYI- Don't make the mistake of wearing shorts to Versailles!! The hostess took the time to get staff to set up a special table for me between the bathroom and server's station. I wore shorts because I'm going to the gator airboat tour after my meal. The food is like a basic home cook style meal. The rice and beans is just like Salvadoran casamiento but not as good. The entire menu options had a lot of cheap options and so I stayed; sitting next to the bathroom in my Polo shorts. My server was a pleasure though read more

THIS is the place you bring people from out of town. Authentic Cuban food right on Calle ocho. All the food is delicious AND affordable. It's famous for a reason. Try a traditional Cuban plate, or make it lighter and go the Cuban sandwich with cafecito route... there is no wrong way to do it. SO NOT leave without visiting the bakery. Not the small one by the main dining room. Go to the big one on the opposite side of the building. Take a little something for a snack later. You'll be thankful. read more

We came here for breakfast on a Friday and loved it! As soon as you walk in, you feel like you've been transported to Cuba. The decor, chairs, tables, everything! We were seated promptly and ordered the following: -Empanada de carne -Pastelito de guayaba y queso -Croquetita de jamón -Pan Cubano con tortilla, jamón y queso Everything was delicious! A bit outside the main stretch of shops in Little Havana, Versailles is a Miami classic that's constantly raved about and recommended. The space is huge, with a full restaurant, café, and bakery. After putting your name down on the waitlist, grab a drink from the café or pick up some guava pastries for later. The atmosphere: The dining area is large and lively. While it's hot outside, the air conditioning inside is very strong. I'd recommend bringing a sweater if you get cold easily. The food: I ordered 'The Criollo' sampler, and my partner had the red snapper fillet with garlic sauce. The sampler was delicious and filling. I especially loved the ropa vieja, fried pork, and flavorful rice. The fish was also excellent. We also tried the fried calamari, which was just okay. It tasted like it had been frozen and reheated. The service: The service wasn't the best, likely due to how busy it was. It took quite a while just to get water. Our entrées came out quickly, but our starter didn't arrive beforehand. After reminding our server, she brought it out within a minute. Unfortunately, it was cold and no longer crispy, which made it seem like it had been sitting at the expo for a while. read more
We visited Versailles Restaurant after reading so many amazing reviews over 26000 people have rated this place! As tourists, we decided we couldn't miss it, even though we had to take an Uber for almost half an hour from our hotel. It was totally worth it! Even though the restaurant was very busy, everything was well-organized and smooth. The place was super clean, the staff were polite and professional, and the food was absolutely delicious the rice was fragrant and tasty, and the meat was tender and full of flavor. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the great quality and generous portions. After our meal, we decided to order dessert and coffee, and the staff kindly guided us to their own bakery, which is located right on the same property. The desserts there were fantastic fresh, flavorful, and high quality, and the coffee was rich and smooth. The dessert we ordered was one of their most famous ones, and it's meant to be enjoyed with their strong Cuban coffee. Since I ordered black tea instead, it felt a bit too sweet for me but that's just a pairing thing! We also ordered a few items to go, and even though we ate them later when they were cold, they were still very tasty and kept their quality, so we wouldn't deduct any points for that. The only thing I didn't really like was that the area for adding the tip was already highlighted with a pen, as if to remind customers not to forget it. I think that's unnecessary because most people already leave a tip unless they're unhappy with the service, which definitely wasn't the case here. Overall, this restaurant truly deserves 5 out of 5 stars. Everything from the food to the service and desserts was excellent. We really enjoyed our experience, and we'll definitely come back here next time we visit Miami. read more

I was really excited to try Versailles as it is quite famous and many people have recommended it. In order to avoid the rush I went on a Saturday at 3pm but I still ended up waiting an hour for a table for 2. I was shocked at how large the restaurant was. Tables were set up pretty close to each other with just enough space for people to walk by and yet the wait for a table is pretty long. I took my waiter's recommendations and ordered the ropa viejo, cubano, pork, mame shake, and the tres leches cake for dessert. The cubano was quite good but drier than I was expecting. The ropa viejo was super tasty but the meat was a little tougher than I like. On the other hand the pork was super tender but didn't have much flavor but I really enjoyed the few chicharron pieces. The two entrees also came with sides and my favorites were the mashed potatoes and plantains. Both the mame shake and the tres leches cake were delicious and a great way to finish off the meal. read more
Visited this place with coworkers while in town for meetings. The cuban sandwich was really tasty as well as the mojito. We had a group of 8 but service was pretty slow. Took a while for our appetizers to come out. Server was great! Everything I tasted was well seasoned. Especially loved the empanadas. Get there early because I was told there's always a wait. It was a busy afternoon this Sunday at Versailles but my friends and I were able to get a table for a short 15 minute wait. It was a scorcher outside, as it's still summer in Miami, so we found safety in the Versailles bakery next door. When we arrived inside the restaurant we saw a plethora of tables and dining rooms. It was much more busy than I had anticipated for our first time here. The waitress was quick and efficient and able to get our orders correct. The wait time was about 20-25 minutes. My one friends stated he felt his food was served lukewarm and not as hot as he had anticipated. Myself and other friend felt our entrees were good but not as good as many other Cuban restaurants in the Calle Ocho neighborhood. All in all, I would have to say there are many other places and small businesses nearby to try when looking for your Cuban fix. read more

I really wanted a cubano when I was in Miami so our friends brought us here and we got so much more than just cubanos. The croquettes here are something I'll dream about for a while. The Cuban sandwiches we got were really good. We got a few more different sandwiches and dishes that we loved. The service was great and the restaurant was full but not overly crowded. A band came in and played some Spanish music for a while which our baby loved. Definitely will be back next time we are in Miami. read more
LOCATION: in the heart of little Havana, you can't miss this iconic spot when in Miami for the most famous Cuban food! They have street parking and a parking across the street but can be limited when busy! About 10-15 mins away from the airport SERVICE: a little disappointing here as when we walked in everyone was welcoming but our server was a bit rude and gave us looks when we put pepper on our sandwich they had live music playing and apart from the server, great service overall! It was packed when we got in but did not wait due to many seats. Wanted to visit this place because of "The Chef" movie! FOOD: We ordered the Cuban sandwich, pork plate with rice and plantains ( Ropa Vieja) , and the crème brûlée pound cake with bread pudding cake. The sandwich was just as good as I thought it would be love the flatbread and flavors! The ropa veija did not disappoint either, plantains were amazing!!! Highly recommend. The bread pudding was not great and cold, but the crème brûlée with cake underneath was a great dessert to end it! The sandwich was 10.25 and the others were around 10-18$, very affordable to eat here. I came in craving Cuban and overall it was a pretty good experience. The bean soup had great flavor and was the highlight of the meal. The Cuban sandwich was decent but didn't quite wow me. Drinks were solid and hit the spot. Service was great. Plenty of inside seating. This place was packed on a Friday afternoon. 10/10 and here's why. I ordered this to go and the process was smooth like butter. When I went to pick it up, the young lady at the counter was pleasant and friendly and she kept the orders organized and the area clean. I was impressed by it all for take out. The ceviche was some of the best I've had and the portion was perfect! The chicken soup was exactly what I needed to fight this cold and the mariquitas and media noche were perfect! There were leftovers and it was all just $30. Worth it and it was a reminder that I gotta continue going there. It lives up to the hype! Support local and enjoy! read more

Second time here and it was just as wonderful as the first. Versailles is a must visit for authentic Cuban food in Little Havana neighborhood in Miami. They've been around for 50 years and I hope they continue for another fifty. Food is amazing, generous portions and surprisingly easy on the wallet. There were five of us and our total came out to less than a Benjamin. I kid you not. Each of us ordered different dishes so we got to try a little bit of everything. The whole red snapper was my favorite and feeds two people easily. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender. The chicken and rice although a bit dry packed lots of flavor. If you're not familiar with Cuban cuisine, I'd start with the rice and black beans and roasted pork and go from there. You can also check out their bakery which is attached to the outside of the restaurant. Here you will find delicious baked goods, desserts and Cuban coffee. read more

Legit Cuban Meals and Bakery When in Miami, have some great Cuban food. This restaurant was right down the street from where we were staying. A quick internet search told us we should go there and according to their website, they are 'known as the World's Most Famous Cuban Restaurant'. It's 9:30 pm and we managed to find a parking place, then had to wait for a table. 9:30 pm and we had to wait. There's a large patio area with a bar and people waiting were enjoying some of their favorite cocktails. We walked through this large establishment just to check it out. We found a take out counter that was doing a brisk business. Then there's the bakery. Everything looked good and they too were busy. We sat back out on the patio and were seated in maybe 15 minutes. As it was late, we wanted something, but not too heavy. We ordered a Cubana Especial ($13.75), which is a larger size of the regular Cuban Sandwich, and one Tamal en Hoja ($4.25), which is a tamale wrapped in corn husk. The sandwich was a true authentic Cuban. Cuban bread, soft inside, toasted and pressed with ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickle. It was great. The tamale was tasty, like most tamales. I had a Hatuey Cuban Style Lager ($7.00/ bottle) which was a little different than our typical US lagers. Perfectly enjoyable. People bear us really enjoyed the Mojitos. We saw so many great dishes go past us, but we'll have to wait for a return visit to try more. Now we know why it was so busy. Give them a try. read more

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful courtyard and bar area outside. The food was good and a great price. The bakery was also nice. Best thing I had was the Cuban coffee. I mean come on! Unbelievably good. The rest of our meal was very tasty. The croquettes , the white bean soup, CHICK PEA POTTAGE , chicken and yellow rice , bar-be-cue spare ribs, key lime pie. Nice place for a family or friend meal. Service was good. read more
A Miami icon, or so they say. Honestly I wouldn't know. I can say the advertising got us to try it, that and a recommendation from the Lyft driver. We started with the ceviche and to be honest it was just ok. At that point I was worrying. Like oh no what have we done. However, crisis was averted when our mains came. My wife got the chicken chicharrones, and since we eat them in NOLA like candy we thought wow let's give that a try. We were not disappointed they were basically fried chicken with a Cuban flair with a touch of Italian thrown in for good measure. I know nothing about Cuban cuisine, but looking at the menu I think it may be influenced from Italy somehow and maybe a touch of Spanish too. I just don't know. I got the Calle Ocho sandwich and it was fantastic as well. Kinda like a regular Cuban but with turkey and bacon and mayo. So good. We didn't get any drinks. Maybe next time. Our waiter was good enough. He was a quiet guy, but he got the job done efficiently and with no problems. The restaurant is old and reminds of that shabby look of a lot of NOLA restaurants and I loved it. It's loud and busy and not in the slightest pretentious. I think we are coming here again and I am definitely getting the chicken chicharrones or I don't know maybe something else. The menu is huge and everything looked good. We will probably skip the appetizer next time. If you're in Miami and you are a Cuban food novice like us try it, or heck maybe everyone likes this place, and we lucked out. We wouldn't know. Versailles continues to deliver! They have managed to keep reasonable prices with good portions. This time I tried the lechon asado (roasted pork) and it was delicious. We visited during the week, so it wasn't crowded at all. Service was fast and great as usual. The restaurant is pretty spacious and well-lit with all the chandeliers that not only serve as decoration. There is now a covered seating area outside for those days that have a waiting list, and you may not be seated right away. Will be coming back for sure! read more

The food had no flavor. The fish had a terrible odor and smelled like it had been sitting and not fresh at all. The chicken smelled bad and also had no flavor. In a party of 5 no one enjoyed their food at all. I felt so bad because I was the one that suggested this restaurant to my family based on the reviews but our experience was terrible. The waitress was cool but the food was a complete miss I would never go back. It was a complete waste of money that I can't get back. read more

I'm not really sure what all the hype is about. My cubano sandwich was rather dry and room temp. The black beans and plantains were delicious. I also purchased a few guava pastries from the bakery and they were flaky, sweet, and were perfect for breakfast with a coffee! read more
Versailles is a Miami institution! They specialize in Cuban food and portion sizes are big, and prices are reasonable for what you get! Food is always flavorful and they have a huge menu with many options. I used to live in Miami and have visited them many times for their empanadas, black bean soup, arroz con pollo, camarones con ajillo, and many others! They also have a bakery where you can order bread and pastries to go, and of course cafecito! We recently came to visit Miami again and really enjoyed the nostalgia of being back here, and the food slapped! This is a can't miss spot, and even if they are very busy because they don't take reservations, the restaurant itself is huge and you will be seated ASAP. read more

Is it aesthetic and is it often crowded?
Yes, it's absolutely beautiful! Yes, there's always a line to get in.. The line moves quickly. The restaurant is huge! Totally worth the wait! It's an authentic experience!!
Do they have gluten free bread?
The last time I went there the answer is a hard no.
Are there any vegan or vegetarian options available?
The menu is pretty meat, fish and chicken focused. The only vegetarian option is yuca fries and a vegetable plate. Personally if I was a vegan or vegetarian, I would opt for someplace else.
Are reservations required, or can we walk in for a table?
No reservations- a very big place- check in and put your name on the list.
Should we make a reservation?
Unfortunately, they do not take reservations. Experienced in December. Live queue outside. Waited 15 min.
Are you open on Thanksgiving?

Parking is free and abundant
Is reservation needed for two people?
You do not have to make reservations. The restaurant traditionally functions on a first come, first served basis. However, in times of limited capacity, it wouldn't hurt to call them. Enjoyalo!

Is the buffet gone due to covid or is it back open on Sundays?
Is there outdoor seating? I want to eat here tomorrow but I have my dog with me. Thanks in advance!
At the bakery yes but not in the restaurant. Hope this helps.
Does this restaurant serve breakfast?
Yes they do! You can also do the bakery for breakfast if you're looking for something faster
