Before the haircut, I clearly explained that I had just gotten my hair cut at another salon two…read moredays earlier and that I wasn't looking for a completely new haircut--I only wanted some adjustments to achieve the style shown in the photos of me before. I specifically asked if the stylist understood the issue and knew what needed to be done, and I was assured that they did. Unfortunately, once the haircut started, there was no communication about how much hair would be removed. The very first cut on the sides was much shorter than I expected, and at that point there was no way to undo it. If the stylist had explained their approach or confirmed the length with me first, I would have had the opportunity to say that it wasn't what I wanted. What disappointed me most wasn't just the final result--it was the lack of communication. When a customer brings reference photos and asks questions beforehand, I expect the stylist to explain the plan and make sure we're aligned before making irreversible changes. I left feeling that my concerns and the reference photos were not really taken into account. I hope the salon can improve communication with customers in the future so others don't have the same experience.

I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes if he's wrapping up another client, etc. First part of the appt is going over what I want to achieve. Then hair wash. Cut. Blow dry and style. He's straight to the point and there's no chit chatting. I'm usually out of there within an hour or so. There's no bathroom available, so make sure you get your business done before your appt. If you need to go, there's Starbucks across the street. As for parking, there's plenty of metered parking. But if you're not sure how long you'll be there, there's 2 hour free parking across the street from El Camino. The salon itself is hidden and on the 2nd floor. I believe the stairs was next to Taishoken. If you see Suruki Market, you went to far. He also only takes cash or venmo.

Let me tell you, there is such a thing as a dry manicure and I prefer this way better than a wet manicure. I have eczema, so I am very selective of nail salons and this was great! The different drill bits that Tracy used are to exfoliate the cuticles and around your nail bed, so minimal cutting/trimming is done. I made another appointment through their website for 07.13.26, again with Tracy, to have my gel manicure and gel pedicure removed and this time chose the combination classic manicure and classic pedicure. Basic treatments as before except for regular polish, not gel. Loved every minute of it! I would highly recommend this place! Convenient location. It was easy to schedule an appointment through their website. I am so happy I did and can't wait for my next manicure! I decided to go back to my natural nails so I got an acrylic removal and a gel manicure. I can't state enough how impressed I was with their attention to detail during the entire experience. They did not rush through the process and took their time to paint on the nail design I requested. I sometimes don't have a ton to chat about but everyone was nice and let me sit quietly listening to the music and watching people queue on the boba line outside. Needless to say, I highly recommend.

Maria is incredible! Absolutely the sweetest person on the planet, and incredibly talented! Maria volunteered at our Downtown San Mateo Halloweenfest and braided approximately 75 little girls! The girls (all ages, btw) were smiling from ear to ear, and the little ones felt like little princesses when she was done. As a result, we had Maria return to our Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to do the same. It was bitter cold that Sunday in December---the rest of the Volunteers all had hats and gloves to keep them warm...not Maria...she couldn't braid with gloves on so she just mustered through it like the professional she is! This year we brought Maria back to braid at our 5th Annual Lion Dance celebration in Central Park. This time it was extremely HOT...and once again...Maria just kept braiding and braiding. I had a chance to get my hair braided by Verso Braiding on multiple occasions and each braid was piece of art. People stopped me everywhere I went and asked if they could take a picture of a braid since they have never seen anything like that. My braids also stayed for at least couple of days and I continued receiving compliments the following day. I also observed Maria braiding little girls hair at my niece's 6th birthday party. All the girls were mesmerized by their braids that were artfully done and beautifully decorated by colorful embellishments. Maria is so soft spoken and easy going with kids that even the most active girls would sit still while the braids were being done on them. We've just had Maria at my baby shower, she was amazing! Super fast with both easy and really complicated braids, and they all turned out sooo professional! I loved everything about my makeup and hair on both days--my banquet day and city hall elopement day. Hera is kind, quick, professional, and knew exactly what my mom and I wanted. My mom had never worn makeup before, and Hera worked wonders, bringing out our natural beauty instead of masking it (the makeup/falsies also felt light and comfortable to be in all day long). My hair and makeup stayed perfect all day! I wanted a classic updo that looked full and natural but I have fine, thin hair and didn't think it would work. Fortunately, Hera is very talented and was able to make my low bun updo look full and natural with the perfect amount of volume! I can't say enough about her work--she's super talented, professional, and somehow knows exactly what the client wants without much direction.
