Must stay away from this business. They are unethical, unprofessional, and incompetent, and they will do everything to get your payment regardless of machine working status. Called for the washing machine repair. I wanted to buy a new one, but since we urgently needed to get it back working for the business, decided to repair. It was a huge mistake. Found this place from the nearest service listed on LG website, so I called without looking up the review. I really wish I looked up the review before contacting them. The technician (Rabbee) came for the diagnostic and gave an invoice for the repair parts and labor. He came next day and replaced the parts. He ran the machine for a few minutes and said it was working. I immediately paid the full amount. But when I tried to use it after he left, the water flooded. Not to my surprise, until technician's 7th visit, the issue has been not resolved and what is worse that each time they told me I need to replace additional parts. When things were getting frustrating, the office person (Monica) and the technician keep changing their words. They speak words to buy time and will not take any responsibility for the unfulfilled words. Technician was late on several appointments (although he had 3-hour period) and when I complained about this, he said "what is a big deal since you are just waiting for me seating around?" What kind of joke is this? They are trying their best to avoid refunds and don't care about machine running back to normal condition. Technician literally told me that. I have so much to say. Deceptive and unprofessional service. Please avoid. I wasted 2 weeks of my time and money (more than half of the new washing machine). I was distraught to find my LG Washer Dryer combo (WM3431HW) was suddenly not draining after it worked perfectly 2 weeks ago. I called several places recommended by LG as authorized technicians and Vertex had the best price. I was amazingly pleased at their customer service...and I can be a stickler at times. Monica was quick to answer all my questions and give me a quote. They even had same day appointments. She is a logistical whiz, making sure she can coordinate times when techs could be in my area. Why is this important? 1) Techs keep within their time frame because they are close-by and not stuck in traffic. You KNOW DC/NoVA traffic! 2) They save gas, keep prices low. 3) We save the environment from unnecessary emissions. A text and email came in to confirm the appointment. Another text came in to let me know the technician was on the way. AND the technician Rabbee called to let me know he had arrived at the building. This was after I relayed specific parking instructions to Monica. Rabbee checked out LG and diagnosed the problem quickly. He had to come back with the right part and offered to come back the very next day. He even drained the machine for me so that the water wouldn't stagnate. Then he also gave me the option of taking my credit card now or to call the office to process. That's service! Vertex made it so easy! The service call fee is under $100 and is applied to the fix if you go with them. I will update when the machine is fixed. read more

Terrible experience, the technician couldn't properly diagnose the problem, spent (3) weeks ordering and replacing part, used duct tape instead of Teflon to seal the threads on the dishwasher connections. Replaced several parts and NEVER fixed the dishwasher. BAD experience. Update 9/26/2015 After the above experience, we allowed Vertex to attempt to finish the job. They scheduled an appointment for 9/26/2015 between 11-2 and at 12:30 I contacted them and was told by the owner that he was on his way to my house and that he turned around because of my Yelp Review. He then attempted to extort me to remove the review. After several minutes on the phone in which he bad mouthed American Home Shield he again said that he would come out and repair the dishwasher, and he never showed up or called. Please Stay away!!!!! I had an issue with my freezer and called these guys to come check it out. After a two failed attempts, I was told that it can't be fixed and I will receive a full refund. I am still waiting for my refund and it has now been a month. They have the WORST customer service I've ever dealt with. They never call you back after saying they will, you will have to follow-up with everything. The tech, Ahsan, is a liar. This guy said he put their refund in the "system" and I should get it within 3-4 days. A full 10 days go by, no refund. I try calling him, and he's not picking up, avoiding my calls. When I tried with a different number, he picks up after 2 rings hahaha. He comes up with several excuses and then says he will drop off the refund in cash by 6pm on 08/24/18. Absolute worst customer service and the techs didn't fix my problem the first time. I had a tech come out to look at my fridge, ice maker wasn't working and water line wasn't either. I know the water line was frozen but ice has always worked. Relayed this to the tech. Tech said it was the filter and had to have two parts ordered, was told it would take 10 business days. 3 weeks later I call back after not hearing anything and they tell me only one part came in and ask me to call their warehouse person to check and see if two parts were in the same box. Finally get a tech back out here to install the new parts, he does so and leaves saying the ice maker will start working again soon, water line is still frozen (that's fine). Ice maker never starts working. Call back to schedule them to come back out, then on the day of service they call me 20 minutes before the window, when I've already left after taking off work for this, telling me they have to reschedule. Okay, fine, we reschedule for next week. Now it's next week and I've had two people call me today, the first asking if I can be there at 3pm instead of 5 because the tech is ready. No, I'm on the schedule for 5 because that is when I am available. Second person calls at 4 asking to reschedule for tomorrow, I tell him about already being rescheduled from last week, he says he'll look into it and call me back. Never does. I call them at 5pm following up on the guy who called me asking if anyone is coming, he says yes he found anther tech to come (and tells me I misunderstood him. "I'll call you back" means I'll call you back!) Great. NOPE. 7:30pm the first person calls me back saying no one is coming, tells me the second tech ran out of time and the first tech didn't want to wait for me to get home. DURING MY SCHEDULED WINDOW! Now I'm on the schedule for tomorrow, which I will have to leave work early for, again. I will never do business with this company again and if my home warranty tries to stick me with them I will have the change contractors. This is the worst company. Update: 6:17 pm the next day, "tomorrow" referenced above, my home warranty company called me to tell me that the tech reached out to them requesting that the service be transferred to a new contractor because they can't do appointment after 5pm. Maybe if you can't do appointment after 5 don't give a customer a window from 5-8pm? Seriously, the WORST company. I wish negative reviews were an option. Review of Vertex Home Services (and American Home Shield) for a REPLACEMENT of an appliance. We have used AHS for home warranty and have been satisfied to date for repairs. Nothing has had to be replaced until now. This is our first experience with Vertex Home Services. I will change my stars based on how this proceeds. This is what has happened so far: 03-13-18: Contacted AHS online to let them know our oven was not working. 03-13-18: Received text from AHS that Vertex Home Services would contact us. Received phone call from Vertex and scheduled for earliest appointment available on 3/16/18 between 2 and 5pm. 03-16-18: Technician arrived, checked our stove top and oven. Advised that the oven cannot be repaired and we would hear from the company. The technician was very nice and professional. 03-21-18: Logged in to AHS account and status shows as complete. (?) Called AHS and they said that their system shows complete and they are waiting on information from Vertex if the oven needs to be replaced. Advised AHS that our oven is not working and CSR said she would send an e-mail requesting status from Vertex and to "Give it another day." 3-21-18: Sean from Vertex contacted us right away and let us know that the technician has been out of the office for a few days. He said he will contact AHS right away and will give them our status. Vertex does not sell ovens, so they are finished with their process in the AHS Warranty. Thank you, Vertex Home Services. I'm very satisfied with my experience! I didn't know which company to go with after my appliance had complications. One of my friends told me about this company and I just had to try it! A technician named Sean came over to my house in a professional Vertex vehicle this morning from 9-12 and was on time, I also recieved a call from the tech 15 minutes before his arrival. I found that very convenient!! I had my samsung fridge ice maker repaired by Sean in minutes! I was fascinated!! Sean is a very kind tech, the price range is very reasonable, I would definitely call Vertex again for any other appliance that needs fixing, and I definitely recommend this company to anyone who has issues with their appliances! read more

Excellent service. I called Samsung today for service and they sent Vertex for my refrigerator repair. I have to say they are professional and use state of art technology to diagnose issue. They were able to diagnose with their iPad and fixed the problem in 1 hour. I will always use them since they are Samsung authorize and I have all Samsung appliances in my home. However today I had a appointment which I don't like 4-7pm of which when I called at 6pm that the tech would not make it until 6:30pm and only needed 30 mins. My isssue is that I left my office to be home at 4 and to be told all the tech required was z30 mins why schedule 4-7pm. In addition I had another appointment at 7:00pm. This is a complete waste of the consumer time when you block 4 hours for a 30 min service. This is most frustrating and a waste of time. Our freezer was making noise and had ice build up in the back. The first time the technician came to our place, they said we had to replace the Heater Assembly. The technician was very nice and helpful - ordered the part, and we were done. I would have given a 5 star rating if this was the end of the issue. A month later, the same problems came back and I had called Vertex to schedule another visit since the part is under warranty, etc. First, no one answered their phone so I left a message and sent an email - NEVER heard back for a week! We suffered with the noise which was awful at this point. I had to call again and again and finally got someone to schedule another appointment. Although the woman I spoke to cared more about the dates and times that I called versus SOLVING THE PROBLEM. Please don't waste my time looking up the exact dates and times I called while we need to fix the problem at hand... do that on your own time to fix your own internal issues. Anyway, the technician that came out the second time was pleasant but said that another part (thermostat) was the issue and needed to be replaced. THIS WAS NOT THE PROBLEM A MONTH AGO according to the first guy. So not only did I waste $300 to replace the wrong part, now I have to pay more money and have the noise persist until they can fix it. Fine, the technician said someone from Vertex would call me to confirm ordering the part and probably do some type of discount for all the issues we have been having. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME! For two days, I waited...so finally I called back to Vertex and spoke to a gentleman who apologized for the inconvenience. Apparantly the part is on back order... okay, that's great but no one ever called me to tell me that and he said a manager was going to call me back that day or the next...a week later and still NO CALL BACK. The customer service here is absolutely awful! Your technicians are pleasant but the people who are suppossed to schedule calls, DONT DO THEIR JOB. In the end, we had to replace our entire refrigerator because NO ONE HERE CALLED ME BACK TO HELP ME. Why should I have to beg for your business?? No one actually answers the phone so you need to leave a message and hope that they call you back, which in my recent experience doesn't happen. I have had them to my house to repair the washer twice in the past two months. After the last "repair" 7 days ago, the technician agreed before leaving my house that the agitator still wasn't working. He stated that they would call my insurance company and tell them that we needed to replace the machine. I left them 3 messages this week asking for a status update and never received a call back. I contacted my insurance company and they said that the repair was logged as complete last week. After calling Vertex back on the direct number provided by my insurance company, they tell me that the senior technician will need to evaluate the machine again and the first opening is 5 days away! I called to make an appointment and made one for the next day between 9am-12pm. I assumed that since I was making an appointment and it was for the next day rather than being squeezed in for same day service, that it wouldn't be a problem. I was wrong. The technician never showed up and I wasted a morning that I took off from work. When I called to ask about the appointment, the person on the phone told me I should have taken the whole day off or made an appointment for the weekend. Seriously? They scheduled me for a Monday from 4:30-7:30pm to fix my washer machine and their technician "Hicham" not only never showed up or called but lied to his company and said that he called me and that I wasn't home when I was. So they apologized when i called to complain and sent me the same technician on a Wednesday with a promise that he would call 20 minutes before arrival. Well, again he never called me 20 minutes before arrival and lied and said that he did. He waited for me for 10 minutes when he decided to call and asked me to reschedule. If I could give them less than one star I would. They came out to look at our LG refrigerator. The tech said he would order the parts and the office would contact us to schedule the repair. We paid the 75.00 fee and off he went. We did not hear back from the office and each time I called or texted I received no response. This went on for almost two weeks. I made one last attempt to call them, and of course no one answered the phone, my husband then called from a different phone number right after I called and surprisingly enough, they answered the phone. As soon as my husband started to ask about our repair they told him they couldn't fix it and we needed to call someone else. The good: I was able to get someone out to service my refrigerator in a timely manner. The bad. They don't honor their coupon or their technicians word. Profit over people. Prepare to be insulted if you disagree. I booked with this company because of the coupon posted online. The fine print on the website says: "To redeem any of the following coupons, print this page. Then, present the coupon upon service." As a consumer, I'm tired of repair companies hiking up prices. I'm always skeptical when prices aren't transparent. And they are not transparent with this company. So I wanted to wait until after I knew how much the final cost would be before I presented the coupon. So when the work was done, I presented the coupon to the technician. He said he could not change the invoice. But the company would send me the difference if I call and talk to them and that they do it all the time. I trusted him and didn't want to hold him up for his next appointment, so I wrote the check and called the company after he left. I called and the woman lectured me about not presenting the coupon when I booked the service appointment. She said they could have changed it if i called when he was here. Then she said we don't do refunds (someone is lying). Then she said I was trying to take advantage of the company. Wow! I'm the one trying not to be taken advantage of. I've worked in sales. And I know you can always give refunds as well as honoring your word. Unfortunately, this tainted my experience with this company and I won't be doing business with them again. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is the competency and friendliness of the technician, A Shawn, who fixed my washing machine. I have a stackable washer/dryer and when the problem was diagnosed it waas determined to be a two-man job. I took off of work for the follow up appt. The second pair of hands needed called in sick. Fine that happens. But I did not receive a call until halfway through the arrival window. They should have called as soon as they knew they had to cancel. When I went to call to complain the number given went to voice mail. I had to do some internet sleuthing to find a good number. Technician came out on 01/04/16 to take a look at a Maytag washing machine on a leak. Technician told my tenant that the drummer needed repair. Therefore, causing the washing machine to leak and it would cost more to fix it than to get a new washing machine. The technician did not leave a copy of the diagnosis with my tenant. The technician diagnosis that was reported to my AHS warranty on 01/08/16 was different. It said it needed to order parts and the repair will cost about $313.70. My tenant was not made aware of this repair and I as an owner was not notified until I called my AHS warranty for a status on 01/11/16. This company is not professional and I would not recommend this company for any work. read more

Most twilight zone service call ever. It took forever to find somebody to admit they were a Samsung certified repair place, which these folks said they were. They sent out a repair man. He showed up an hour after the time he said he was showing up after calling to say he would be there at 5. Showed up at 6. My dishwasher was giving an error code that something was wrong with the drain. The plumber came out previously and confirmed nothing was wrong with the drain. Both Samsung and the plumber agreed it was probably something with the electronics. This repair man pushed a bunch of buttons on the machine and then told me to run vinegar through it, thinking some small particle was stuck in the pump ... He refused to stay to see if the vinegar idea would work after I sent my friend to the store to get some, saying he had another service call even though my appointment was from 5-7 and it was only 6:15. I assured him that having attempted to run my dishwasher through a full cycle would result in an error message within 5 minutes, but he had no patience. If that was truly his solution, he should have stayed, but he walked right out of the house after I refused to pay the service fee until he actually identified the problem and tried to fix it. If you're going to come out on a service call, and want to get paid, then you need to identify the potential problem, consider a potential solution, then administer that solution after an agreed upon fee for the service. Because he wouldn't try his own solution, I refused to pay. Watch the company send me a bill anyway. I have no intention of paying $75 for a supposed professional repairman to tell me to do some old wives tale that didn't even work. read more

The freezer portion of our refrigerator was broken and Vertex responded to the request for maintenance. Upon evaluating our freezer a fan was ordered as it was not cooling the freezer. When the fan was received two days later a technician was sent four days later to install the freezer fan. The freezer fan was installed; however THE TECHNICIAN BROKE OUR REFRIGERATOR. I have used Residential Appliances twice 11/23/2013 for an oven repair and 11/03/2014 for to replace an over the range microwave. To replace an oven igniter he arrived much later that the schedule time for the repair but he got the repair done. The last is the worse he also came later than the schedule time also he had pickup his wife on the way do my repair. The repairman Jelassi Samir his english was not clear, he did not have basic tools step stool, drill or wood strip for microwave bracing. He looked at the installation book for 5 min. and then tells me he has to come back the next day because I don't have the metal wall brace for the new microwave, he charges me $75 dollars for the service call I give him my debit card he write down my info I signed the papers he give a copy and I leave. I go back to the store to get the part they inform me all the parts are in the box or attached to the back of the microwave. While I'm at the store I get call from the repairman he asking for debit card expiration date, I about to leave the store I another call form Residential Appliances account dept. stating my payment didn't go through the installer put down the wrong number. Once I get home my wife says the installer holler at her and hung up on her because of his foul-up on the paper. I agree with the other reviews that say 'stay away!' Our refrigerator was not operating and we had to go through this company through American Home Shield (which is another joke - wait times of 60 minutes when you call them almost every time - even their chats have a 30 minute wait time). When Vertex called me back to set up the appointment I asked if I could tell them what the problem was so they could anticipate what parts they may need to carry on their truck. All they knew was the fridge wasn't operating properly so I wanted to let them know how it wasn't operating. Vertex said that American Home Shield requires them to visit first, then make the the diagnosis and then you have to wait another 3-5 days for a part/appointment for the actual repair. So, the actual repair takes at least double the time it would if you called a reputable company who would come prepared. The technician had no idea what he was doing. He had to call someone at the office to walk him through the process. At one point, he was going to stand on one of my nice dining table chairs to check the top of the fridge! We gave him a step ladder (apparently, they don't keep them on their trucks) to use. After he left, we noticed that he had placed the step ladder on the inside base of the fridge and cracked it! Now, I have to wait on the phone for another 60 minutes (not an exaggeration) to speak with a representative from American Home Shield so I can figure out how to fix the fridge that now has more damage than it originally had thanks to the incompetent "technician." read more
