If I could give 0 stars, I would. Would not recommend this company to anyone. We put down a deposit on 8/12 and had an estimated install date of 3-4 weeks. When I called on 9/4 to get an update, I was told that they couldn't get the fabric that we picked. No communication from anyone about that. Never heard back from the original sales person who came out to make the sale. Kept getting the run around, asked for a manager or owner to call back, nothing. They did offer to give us free motors with a different fabric but the options were limited. I finally asked for a refund so we could take our business elsewhere. We had plantation shutters installed on 3 very large windows and a door. They were installed a couple of years ago but I wanted to wait before writing a review since it's a rather big investment. So far, they are holding up well. The installers impressed me as highly polite and professional. The people who answer the phone are there to sell product and know nothing about the product. I say that because I called with a very minor problem. They had me take several pictures of the problem and said they'd speak with the installers and get back to me with a solution. That never happened and that is why this is not a 5 star review. I'm very happy with my shutters and felt extra secure during the recent hurricane. They are a worthwhile replacement for the top-down bottom-up shades they replaced. I feel more private and can adjust the levels of privacy and light more easily. read more

Told me the head track to my vertical were under life time warranty. They charged me $78.00 for shipping but when I went to pick it up they ordered it with all the verticals so I paid for shipping on a 6 foot box and the 32 inch box that I need they proceeded when questioned about the shipping I was told my warranty was a favor WTF read more

Vertical Village installed plantation shutters in all the rooms of our home, a large remote control shade for our sliders, and Roman shades in the bedrooms. We received friendly, professional service throughout and their installation date estimate was accurate. The only negative I think is important to share is that the fabric we chose for one of the bedrooms is a stripe pattern and we weren't told when we picked it out that this vertical stripe would be installed in a horizontal fashion, completely changing the design vision I had for the room. When I called to inquire about this I was told we are the first customers to be surprised that the stripes were installed horizontally. How could we not be surprised? How could we have possibly known that the vertical striped pattern we chose from the sample book would be installed horizontally when all the striped fabrics we looked at were positioned in the book in a vertical fashion? It was never pointed out that it would be installed any other way because had it, we would have chosen another stripe fabric that could be cut correctly to suit the window size and we would have a vertical stripe shade like we wanted. We ordered different striped shades for the master bedroom and they were installed in a vertical fashion as expected. All in all, the quality is there and you definitely pay for it, but we don't mind spending the money on quality. Just wish we were 100% satisfied for the money we spent. So please make sure if you choose a stripe, confirm which way it will be installed so you're not surprised like we were because they will not acknowledge it was their fault for not telling us or offer a resolution. read more

I always enjoy the opportunity to write a GREAT review and this is the ONLY time I have ever written a bad one - however, I felt compelled to because something is wrong with this business. Completely mismanaged, unoplogetic and unprofessional! I contacted Vertical Village @ the end of June 2018 to inquire about having 3 sets of drapery made. This was after reading positive reviews from 2017 on their company website. Jennifer on the staff told me over the phone that they didn't have a "contract" with the fabric company Duralee I was interested in, however, that they could open an account. I provided Jennifer and Jim, the company owner, with all of the details regarding these fabrics so they could obtain a contract. I was advised when Jim came to my home, a month later to take actual measurements that 2 of the 3 fabrics I wanted to use were on back order and unavailable until September. At that time, I asked him if he wanted a "check to cover deposit for the entire job" as I was "certain" I was going to use all 3 fabrics and willing to wait until September if needed. He said he didn't need any deposit. He had driven to my home in Delray Beach and I live in a almost $2M home. Jennifer stated that one of the fabrics wouldn't be available until mid December. I received a invoice from Jennifer for cost of job to include rods and installation and I told them I would like to move forward, pay deposit and get something started!!! This is now early September! Also, between mid August until mid Sept I received numerous emails from Jennifer apologizing about sicknesses and later hospitalizations happening within the Vertical Village staff. I always responded with my understanding and condolences regarding these situations. However, now something had changed! His staff person Jennifer would say one thing in one email communication and then entirely different in the next one. In an email she would say "thank you so much and I'll send you a photo of the drapery rod tomorrow" and then not do it. So a week later I'm still waiting for her response so that I can give them a deposit of $2,900 that covers only 1/2 of the total cost!!! Today, after much frustration in dealing with inept office staff we called to speak directly to Jim. Vertical Village quoted me (by email) total cost for the 3 rooms and then today completely reneged -- stating that the fabrics were very expensive! What? In other words, I waited from early July-- when I provided them the complete fabric pattern information , until today for them to tell me that the fabrics were expensive??? What was the invoice for??? Jim was "DOUBLING" the price today over the phone and when I said it was "bad business" he hung up on me! What business owner does that and stays in business much longer? read more

We bought a $3,000 motorized shade for our sliding glass doors less than three years ago from this company along with a second $2,000 shade for the bedroom. In Nov. , the bracket broke casing the one shade to slip off of the bracket that was then caught by a notch in the bottom of the bracket or it would have fallen to the floor and cracked the inside motor. The shade stopped working as a result, and I contacted Vertical Village who took no responsibility for it. They said it could not have been a faulty bracket . After three visits and lots of pictures, they finally agreed to order two new brackets. This took two months and today two men came to install the two small metal brackets (3"x3") and reprogram the motor. It was done in about a half hour. The company charged us $400.00!! I called one of the owners (Chris) to ask how on earth it could cost so much and all she could tell me was that it was the cost of their insurance and the two men coming to our home. I couldn't believe it! We need another shade for our bedroom but I will be finding another company for sure! read more

From the initial consultation at the office to the installation of our shutters and custom drapes, the entire experience was excellent. In addition to their prices being very reasonable, they also provided very good design suggestions that we incorporated into our final design layout. The entire team was very concerned with us being 100% satisfied with the final product and were quick to address the few minor issues that we raised to them.
