I tried this place for the first time a few days ago. I quite enjoyed it. I was looking for a Frappuccino so that's what I went for. I got a frappe in a flavor that they call, the vampire drink, which is a blend of vanilla with maple. I enjoyed it very much, the consistency of the Frappuccino was nice, very in the middle, certainly not super rich and heavy like a milkshake, but not overly icy like a slushy, very nice and in the middle. The only drawback is that the Frappuccino's only come in one size option, which is 16 ounces, no option for a bigger drink or a smaller drink for that matter. I only tried the frappe this time so I will update if I return and try anymore items. I did not use the restroom so I cannot comment on that. The seating inside was nice enough in the place seemed pretty clean. The seating was just more of a bench and a table; so no big sofa or comfy chairs or anything like that. I watched an employee spray cleaning solution on the counter but then she took a syrup container from the fridge and placed the clean top of it directly onto the wet cleaning solution--before wiping anything down. Then she closed the container and put it right back in the fridge. That's not just careless; it's unsanitary. Coffee Commissary is located in the Beverly Center on the 6th Floor. I was in the area one morning with another person and we made our way to this small shop at the mall. We ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Morning Buns, and a regular hot Coffee (I don't remember the flavor she got). Their iced vanilla latte was smooth and perfect for a summer morning. I had the chocolate chip cookie and it was one of the best cookies I had in a while. My favorite was the shared dining space with the large window. It overlooks the street below and the Sofitel across the street. There seems to be their own food truck right outside of the coffee shop, so make sure to check that out too! It doesn't seem too busy, so I guess that's a good sign that you can easily just grab and go your food items too. I ordered today's special of the month, which is their Lavender Latte! I don't often get floral drinks, but that just sounded pretty good that day, so I was curious to try. When I took my first sip, it was almost a bit overwhelmingly floral? It was nice at first, but as you drink it, it just tastes pretty sweet. I also wished they put more ice in the drink cause my drink easily got lukewarm after a 10 minute walk. Also, my bf ordered a "premium cold brew". I asked him if it tasted more "premium", he said it just tasted like regular cold brew tbh lol. Overall, it seems like the drinks were just okay? The aesthetics were pretty nice and appealing, but the drinks are not too much to fancy over. f you are thinking of ordering online you should know that their customer service is nonexistent. Truly nonexistent. I've ordered in the past with no problems and I placed an order for a 5 lb bag of coffee on July 15. My credit card was charged and the order was shown as being "complete" by that evening. So, I contacted them through their website-the only way to "contact" them and asked for a tracking number. No reply. Over the next 10 days I daily requested a tracking number. Nothing. Finally, on July 27, 12 days after my order was "complete", I began sending increasingly snarky messages every 10 minutes to see if that would work. About 6 or 7 in all. This is what I received from "Matt", Vice President no less: "Sorry for your frustration. Check your spam email! We've responded several times since your initial email! " That's it. Insult the customer and hope they go away. Of course, not being brain dead, I had been checking my spam-they had never sent me a thing. Instead of addressing the issue I was simply called a dumb*#%t and I guess they thought that was a fix. When finally they relented and sent the tracking info, I discovered that the order hadn't even been sent out until July 23..... 8 days after my order was placed and credit card had been charged. Clearly they screwed up and it would have been so much better to just own up to it. So long Coffee Commissary. read more
