I am stronger and wiser about how I sit, stand, lift, drive, work, and even sleep. She was able to not only help me understand my own unhealthy patterns and posture in a very precise but accessible way but is constantly encouraging and positive about my progress, giving me tips and tools that allow me to help myself on my own time. This is the single BEST practice I have done for myself. I have tried a lot of other things to deal with my pain and all of them I would only find relief at the time of the therapy and a little after, but I would have to keep going for the rest of my life, and not actually heal. Sessions with Cassie are so fulfilling and thorough I walk away feeling taller and stronger every time, but knowing that I am making a long term investment in my own health and preventing further injury is absolutely priceless for me. The studio in Jacksonville is really comfortable and intimate, very cute! I've done both private sessions and small classes and both are fun and challenging and personalized. My condition has improved so much that I no longer am in pain but Dr. Cassie is such a wealth of knowledge I haven't wanted to stop going even though I feel so empowered and don't need physical therapy anymore to be OK. Every night on the way to dance, we found ourselves stressed out as we discussed wedding preparations and costs, but as soon as we started dancing we were smiling and laughing and couldn't even remember what we were so stressed about. Neither my husband or I had taken dance lessons in our adult life before this time, but Tess met us right at our skill level, and not only taught us the parts of music and several types of dance, but also made it so much fun. Even after our wedding had passed we knew we had to keep dancing as it connected us to each other in a special way, giving us a skill we learned together. Gina herself is lovely, incredibly knowledgeable about pilates and has helped me work on some sticky spots (i have no major injuries). I have only taken the level 1 classes and open classes but they move quickly enough without you feeling like you are left behind. The space just opened so the machines are clean and new plus after each class you wipe them down with cleaning solution so things should stay that way. Oh, and the studio is down the driveway of the house, the garage holds the space for private classes while the group classes are held down the driveway and to the right tucked in the basement apartment.

Janet provides all this in spades, but there's so much more here. It's amazing how she can work with a room of students at all levels and ages. (There are classes at many levels, but students often come to lower levels than you'd expect, as there are only one or two classes most days.) Janet's self-depreciating humor makes me feel at home, and helps produce a much, much deeper sense of community than I've experienced anywhere else. (I studied--and loved--yoga for years at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Los Angeles, and for months at a time in Iyengar studios in Moscow and St. Petersburg.)

Being so small of a space, and in a small town, I thought they would be nice and a great place to practice. However, I was called out many times during my classes for my age and my practice being 'sloppy'. I was snapped at and I felt really ashamed and embarrassed when I left both times...(I tried it twice in case it was just me) which in case you were wondering is NOT how a yoga practice should leave you feeling. Both of the classes I tried were an average older students..i asked about that and I was told the 'college kids' go to the 'other studio'...I mean. Goodness. I know this town has a pretentious spirituality side, but I was sad to run into it here. I had high hopes for authenticity, kindness and quality instruction and they weren't met. Especially for the prices they charge for such a humble and ancient spiritual practice. Go elsewhere.
